Alaina was making breakfast for Adam because he woke up feeling sick and decided to stay home from work today.

Alaina made oatmeal with berries and honey for Adam along with a glass of orange juice and brought it to Adam in their room.

She sat it on the nightstand and left.

Alaina got her phone out and texted her mom about meeting her boyfriend soon

Alaina Atwater: Hey Mom, how are you?

Athena Smith: I'm good, sweetheart. How are you? Do you want to come over?

Alaina Atwater: Sure, but later. My boyfriend is not feeling well and he comes first. He woke up with a migraine today.

Athena Smith: Okay. How about today at 6?

Alaina Atwater: Sure. Let me ask my boyfriend and see if he is up for mom.

Athena Smith: Fine. Whatever, Alaina. Bye.

Alaina got off her phone and went to check on her boyfriend and see how he was feeling and if he wanted to meet her family.

Alaina knocked on the door, and Adam said," Come in baby,". Alaina opens the door.

Alaina asked," Hey, baby. How are you feeling? Are you feeling any better?

Adam said," I'm feeling much better, baby.

Alaina said," Do you want to meet my family later today? Like, say 6 pm? Dinnertime?

Adam said," Yes, that sounds perfect, baby.

Alaina said," Okay. I'll let her know soon.

Adam said," Okay. Want to stay and cuddle?

Alaina said," That sounds great to me, babe.

Alaina texted her mom to let her know that Adam said He was willing to meet them.

Alaina Atwater: My boyfriend wants and is very excited to meet you guys this evening.

Athena Smith: Great. Don't care at this point.

Alaina signed and rolled her eyes because she was annoyed with her mom's behavior.

Her relationship with her mom is strained because of her marriage to her stepdad.

She didn't like Bruce Banner very much at all because he ignored her and her siblings growing up, and that hurt her feelings a lot.

Instead, he focused on his biological kids Kimberly Banner, Troy Banner, Moon Banner, and Colby Banner, who are now 15 years old and are graduating high school and getting accepted into their respective colleges and are going to college soon.

He wasn't supportive of her career choice.

The day she told him that she wanted to be a doctor, he stared at her and told her she was going to drop out because it was a lot to deal with and too much pressure on her.

That ended up with a screaming match between Bruce Banner and Javier Atwater, Vincent Atwater, Amber Atwater, Ashley Atwater, Seraphina Atwater, Frost Atwater, Tatiana Atwater, Robin Atwater, Kevin Atwater, Alaina Atwater, Josh Atwater and Macey Atwater defending their sister Alaina's choice of becoming a doctor.

Athena defended her husband, Bruce Banner, and ever since that day, The Atwater kids have refused to speak to her.

She saw Adam coming downstairs and grabbed his hand to calm herself down.

They headed to Adam's pick-up, and Adam helped her inside the car and buckled her up, and immediately got the car started.

Adam drove them to Alaina's mom's house.

He parked his pickup on the sidewalk.

He got out of the pickup and helped Alaina out of the pickup, and held her hand tightly.

Alaina rang the doorbell, and her mom Athena Smith opened the door, looking annoyed but smiled when she saw Alaina.

Athena said," Alaina, come give me a hug.

Alaina hesitantly lets go of Adam's hand and hugs her mom and then heads inside the house with Adam holding her hand again.

Alaina tensed immediately when she heard her step-dad's voice and held Adam's hand.

Bruce said," Hi Alaina, how are you doing?

Alaina coldly said," I'm fine, Step-dad.

Athena said," Dinner is ready. Let's eat, guys. Kimberly Banner, Troy Banner, Moon Banner, and Colby Banner come downstairs and eat. Your sister Alaina is here too.

Alaina rolled her eyes at being called their sister instead of their stepsister like always.

4 teenagers come downstairs just as Athena served everyone dinner, and they all ate.

Bruce asked," So Alaina, may I ask who this is and why is he here with you, young lady?

Alaina coldly said," This is Adam Ruzek, my boyfriend, and he's the best thing that ever happened to me, stepdad. I love him a lot.

Adam said," It's nice to meet you both

Athena said," It's nice to meet you too, Adam and Alaina, There's no reason to be cold towards your dad. He wants you happy.

Alaina rudely said," Well, I'm very happy with Adam. Bruce is not my dad, by the way.

Bruce said," So Adam, what's your job?

Adam said," Well, sir. I'm a police officer. I work at the 21st police district in the Intelligence unit, and my boss is Hank Voight. We help people in the city of Chicago by solving cases and bringing justice to their families and making sure they go to prison.

Bruce rudely said," That's a very dumb job.

Athena said," I agree with my husband. You could have chosen someone better, Alaina.

Adam looked at his finished plate, and he looked like he was about to cry from embarrassment, and he was humiliated.

Alaina said," Adam's job is what keeps criminals out of this city, and I hate you, Bruce. I always have because you're rude. Thanks a lot for making my boyfriend cry. He is very sensitive, and this hurts me to see him upset for any reason. So we're leaving.

Adam nods, and Alaina grabs Adam's hand and leads outside the house, Put Adam in the passenger seat since she didn't want Adam to be driving because of how upset he was and she drove them home right away.

They arrived at their apartment, and Adam got out of the car and headed inside, crying.

Alaina got out of the car and headed inside.

Both got showers and got dressed in PJ’S.

Alaina whispered to Adam," It's okay, baby. We're not going back to my mom's house anytime soon. They won't be a part of my life if they can't show respect to you at all.
