Kerstin is a very stubborn woman. She's not someone who rolls over easily for anyone one. She's an easy person to get along with regardless. If you respect her, she'll respect you. It's as simple as it gets. She's not overly happy or cheery, she's fairly calm. She doesn't get stressed over the simple things and never lets her nerves show when they get high. She bold and takes more risks then she should and it often gets her in trouble.

As a child, Kerstin did not listen. She would go out with her friends and do dangerous and illegal things despite her brother telling him not to. As an adult now, however, she is much more of a disciplined with her job. She follows the rules and listens to her boss's and the suggestions of her peers.

Kerstin is a strong-willed woman. As mentioned earlier, she is not one to let people push her around. She has a lot of street smarts from her childhood and has nerves of steel to put it simply. She can stare down the barrel of a gun and not flinch at the threat of a knife.

Kerstin grew up in Lillehammer. She had a quiet peaceful life. She was the middle child of three kids to Ana and Christian Harlow. She was 6 years younger than her brother Nicola and 4 years older than her other brother Aksel. When she was 6 her parents were killed by a family friend during an argument between him and her father. Kerstin and her brothers got out of the house safe and lived with their grandfather, Rasmus, in Bergen after that. When Kerstin was 12 Rasmus passed away and the siblings were left to take care of themselves.

After their grandfathers passing, the three moved to Oslo so Nicola could get ready for university and get a better job to support his siblings. Nicola pushed Kerstin down the straight path, trying to keep her in line because once she hit her teens she started hanging out with bad crowds and poor company. He had to juggle school, work and taking care of his younger sister and he did his best with it, but Kerstin was always hard to handle. Kerstin took care of her younger brother most of the time. She got into a relationship with a friend, Jarle Devold, who ran with the bad crowd she's been in. When she was 16 her younger brother was killed as a result of Devold and his friends and Kerstin lashed out about it, pulling herself out of that group of friends. She never set herself back onto a good path, she just ended up finding a new group of friends that were better but they still partook in the same drugs and parties that she had quickly gotten addicted to.

Kerstin graduated college and interned at the interpol office in her home country. She was able to join as a full detective after a few years. The new job came with travel. Kerstin spent some time in Madripoor and made friends while there. Her collecting started here. She finally started to gain some wealth and created a nice haven for her to visit when she needed things to cool off because of her job. It became sort of a side hustle for her. She's lived a comfortable balance between work and her hobbies since.

Kerstin killed her best friend and boyfriend, Jarle Devold when she was 16. She plans to drag her secret to her grave.
