Recap-

"I'd like to say thank you. For giving me another chance." I spoke.
"Think nothing of it, it should be us thanking you. You're going to change history, Kenna." Vairë told me.
I smiled at her.
"I'm ready."
Aulë nodded. "When you arrive, address yourself as "Lady Kenna" say that you heard of a Dwarven city located in the Blue Mountains and would like to find a place to stay. Your a healer."
I started to protest, "I don't know how to heal..."
"You'll learn fast with your new gifts."
"I'll try. If it doesn't work, I'll head for Rivendell and stay until they show up."
Aulë nodded "Very well."
"Good luck, Kenna. This ring will symbolize who you are." Vairë spoke.
"Who I am?" I asked.
"It's the sign of the Valar." Mandos clarified.
"Thank you, Vairë."
"You're welcome."
Chanting started, before I knew it... I was on snowy ground. On a stone bridge that over-looked The Blue Mountains.
'Couldn't they have given me a warmer landing?' I thought, looking at the cloudy sky.

Dwarrowdam: female dwarf

~*~*~
Quick Note: I should clarify that The Valar sent Kenna back in time to when the Dwarves of Erebor had to Evacuate, and are now in the Blue Mountains aka Ered Luin.
(Yes I know they goto Dunland before the Blue Mountains, but I felt that Ered Luin fit better.)
~*~*~*~*~

Getting up and dusting the snow off myself, I saw what looked like two dwarven teenagers coming towards me. One holding a bow, the other carrying a sword.
The one on the right was dressed in dark blue, while the one on the left was in earthly browns.
'Well, I know who they are...' I thought to myself, looking at them both.
The blond had hints of a beard and long braids in his hair.
His younger brother, had no hint of the stubble that I saw in the movie, otherwise his hair looked the same.
It was strange to see them so young. Yes, they were bordering being on their twenties...in human years - the age they were for the quest but still, they looked so innocent. Different.

They approached me, the younger brother now had an arrow notched.
I swallowed.
'I better tread carefully.'
As I studied them, it looked like they were going on a hunting trip.
"Hello." I greeted, gently with a bow of my head.
Fili studied me. "I haven't seen you around these parts before, may I ask what your name is, miss?"
I blinked and hesitated before I remembered Aulë's words. "I'm Lady Kenna. I heard of your Dwarven city located here in the Blue Mountains and I would like to find a place to live, if that's alright with your King...I could help heal the sick and injured. I'm a trained healer."
'That, was a bunch of lying. Healer my arse...'
Kili watched me closely. "She doesn't look dangerous, Fee. We should take her back to the mountain."
Fili turned to his brother "You know very well what they might think."
"What is that, brother?" Kili asked, confused.
Fili sighed. "That this Dwarrowdam may be quite dangerous, a thief or worse."
I rolled my eyes. 'Seriously?'
"May I show you something that might change your mind?" I asked.
Kili nodded, curious.

I slowly brang my right hand forward so they could see the ring Vairë bestowed me. The symbol of the Valar.
Their eyes widened. Clearly they recognized it.
"Fee, is that what I think it is?" Kili questioned.
"Aye, it is brother. I took studies under Balin about The Valar not long ago and that very Ring was mentioned." Fili said, amazed.
Kili was confused. "What do we do now?"
"We have no choice. Lady Kenna comes with us."
'Thank you, Vairë.'
"You must be very careful, Lady Kenna. My great-grandfather is not...himself. Thus, my uncle's father is now King." Fili informed me.
Honestly, I had no idea who ruled the Blue Mountains - yes, I had researched. But came up empty.
I pretended to think. "So, doesn't that make you two Princes?"
"...Yes. But please don't start with the "Your Majesty." It's very annoying." Kili said.

Soon, we reached the gates of the mountain and I was overwhelmed making me stop in my tracks.
"Never been inside a mountain before?" Kili guessed.
I shook my head. "I've actually lived with the race of men most of my life, master dwarf."
"Speaking of which... What are your names, might I ask?"
Fili turned around, just realizing that we hadn't been introduced properly. "I apologize, Lady Kenna. My name is Fili. At your service." He spoke, bowing low.
"And I'm Kili, Fili's younger brother. At your service." He copied his brothers actions.
"Nice to meet you both, Fili, Kili."
We continued on our journey towards the Throne Room.
To say I wasn't nervous, would be a lie.

My head was on a swivel. Looking left and right constantly. It was beautiful. I could only wonder how Dwarves accomplished such feats.
'I suppose I'm talking about myself, too. Since I'm part dwarf.'

We soon reached another grand door with two guards on each side. Handing my weapons to the Guards, they opened the door for us. I nodded my head in respect, as did the brothers.

Fili introduced me to King Thrain, his son Thorin standing beside him and Thror nowhere to be found.
I swallowed, looking between the Royals nervous.
"My Lord, may I introduce to you Lady Kenna." Fili spoke, bowing. Kili and I copied his movement.
"Rise. Fili, Kili and Lady Kenna." Thrain ordered.
We did as told.
As I stood, I looked at the two Royals Thorin looked hardened as did Thrain.
"What is this about?" Thrain asked
'What have I gotten myself into?'
"Lady Kenna has come to us seeking shelter. She may help Oin heal our people. Kenna informed us that she's a trained healer." Kili spoke.
"Really now?"
"Look at her hand, my Lord."
I looked to the brothers, Fili and Kili motioned me to show my ring.
And show the ring I did.
Looking at the two Royals before me they were shocked.
"How did you come to get the sign of the Valar, Lady Kenna?" Thorin asked.
"They sent me here to change what isn't meant to happen, my Lord." I replied.
"Why you?" Thrain asked.
"Because I have the knowledge." I informed him.
"You're a seer?" Kili asked
"You could say that."
"She must be protected, father. If the Elves got ahold of her..." Thorin advised his father.
Thrain nodded.
"Fili and Kili will show you to a room near Oin's. I will send word to him that you'll be his apprentice. Now off you go."
"Thank you, my Lord." I spoke, bowing my head in respect.

"Well, that went better then I expected." Kili spoke, relieved.
Fili smiled. "Yes, indeed. Thror was nowhere to be found."
"Is that common? Him disappearing?"
"Now a-days? Unfortunately, yes." Kili answered.
During our walk, I memorized landmarks.
"So, how long have you lived here?"
"Kili was born here. I was born in Erebor, but was too young to remember anything - just an infant."
"What about you, Lady Kenna?" Fili asked.
"Well, I grew up most of my life in Gondor. I was teased for my looks, for being different. The Valar...contacted me and told me to come here, to the Blue Mountains. I left what I knew."
'God, it hurts to lie. I'll have to apologize later.'
"You've had it rough, I'm sorry." Kili said.
"Kili, none of it was your fault. Don't apologize."
"Well, here's your new humble abode. If you need anything, Oin is two doors down to the left. Though he is a little hard of hearing so you might have to shout. There should be a key on the table."
"Thank you, Fili, Kili."

I entered my new home, to find that it was massive and of course, Dwarven made. It suited me perfectly. I fell in love with it instantly. Earthly colors with the Durin blue mixed in here and there... And Fili was right, the key was on the night-stand.

I began to explore my new home to discover that there were the essentials. They had this home stocked in case someone needed it. That, was clear. There was food that lasted a long time, though I'd need to buy fresh food which was fine. The Valar provided me with coins. And I'd have a job soon enough.

Was I thankful? Yes. Beyond words. However... I was lonely. I knew no one. Sarah wasn't here... Yes I knew the characters of The Hobbit but that was in the movie and book. How they acted in real life? No clue.

Finding some jerky I ate then laid down for the night. It had been a long journey so far and rest was needed.

This chapter did not want to be written!
So I apologize for it's lateness.
I planned on publishing it earlier today, on Friday. But as we know - books write themselves. 🙄
(It's true that I couldn't find the King of Ered Luin!
Nor the ages of Fili and Kili when they were their - I'm leaving small facts in these chapters 😂)
And, it took most of the night to find a song that 'suited' this chap. Little did I know, it was by one of my all time favorite bands! *face palm*
