Kabane's POV

"Oh good morning Kabane!"

When I heard that I looked up. The tool I had in my hand still in my hand. There was a girl with white hair that was in a braid and reached to her lower back. She got bright blue eyes. And she was wearing rags.

"Akuza. . . Hello." I answered her.

She was always a bright happy girl. Always alone and never really talked to anyone unless they talked to her. A year back though we talked to a while. She stayed by my side while I worked and I chatted to her. And now whenever she sees me she talks to me.

She lives on her own. She doesn't have anyone and like me everyone hates her in the village. I don't know why, she's always friendly and nice. "Hard at work again Kabane?" She asked smiling at me.

As she said that I nodded my head at her. I looked at the water I was standing it with the crops and then back at her. "Akuza what are you doing?" I asked her.

She smiled at me as she opened her mouth. "Nothing much I already finished my chores. So I decided to come and see what you're doing." She replied to me.

I looked at her and nodded my head again. She was the only one that would come up to me and stay as long as she wanted. "Kabane! You okay?" She asked me.

I looked up at her again and I saw her still smiling. She was smiling all the time unlike me. "Yes. Why would I not be?" I asked her.

"Hm." She spoke and then turned her head to the side. As she did I cought a glimpse of something. It was shiny and looked nice. She looked back at me. "No it's just you're being unusually quiet." She simply answered me.

Unusually quiet?

"I do not understand what you mean." I said to her.

She just gave a small laugh at my words. I was looking at her and then I looked at the work I was in the middle of doing. "You two should stay away. Especially you Dorotabo don't someone from Tokyo to be near you!" I heard Yataro say to me.

I nodded my head at my cousin's words. "Okay, Yataro." I was surprised I turned to Akuza. I heard her speak the same time as I said that too.

"How come everyone treats you like they do me? I mean I don't see anything wrong with you." I asked her.

She looked at me and smiled as she did. "Who knows. But I guess that's just my life. There's no right or wrong way to go about it anyway. If you think about it." She said and got up from small hill she was sat down on. I continued to look at her and nodded my head. "I apologise Kabane but I must be going now. I'll come see you later." She said and smiled at me while waving as she walked away.

I waved back and then looked down at the work I was doing. I continued to work all that time. Akuza only comes and talks to me for a little while but I appreciate the company anyway. She's the only one that have given me the time of time. Everyone else just normally stays away from me.

They all think I stink. But Akuza haven't even said a word about it. I looked down at the floor and started to work more. The other kids was laughing probably at me. I looked in the direction and they was actually laughing when Akuza was walking past them.

Her white hair shining in the light. She looked pretty but something was wrong. I noticed something when she walked past the other children. Something happened especially to the boys. I turned away thinking nothing of it. It was probably my imagination anyway.

"Hey kid are you okay!?"

The one with white hair is Akuza the other one I ain't going to explain yet! I wonder if you all can guess 🤭
