A Kota Encounter

AN: Since this is my first fanfic reviews and such will be the determining factor, should you lovely birdies want more, you shall have more. Enjoy!!

                                                                        **Sang**

Before I lost my nerve, I took a deep breath and dialed his number.

"Hey Sang, what's up?" Leave it to Kota to pick up on the second ring.

"Hey Kota, umm are you busy?"

"No, what's wrong?"

God I was already screwing this up. "Nothing! Eh, I just wanted to know if you wanted to maybe hang out?"

Ok good start. Now he just has to say yes. Oh god! What if he doesn't say yes? This whole plan hinges on Kota being ok with it. What if he doesn't like me as more than a friend? I won't be able to stay with them. The Academy will never accept this if Kota-

"Yes, definitely...uh I mean if you want to that is."

Whew that was close, that train of thought was leading me nowhere fast. If this is ever going to work, I need to keep thoughts like that as far away as possible.

"Sang?"

Oh crap! I was so far in my own head I forgot Kota was still on the phone. "Yes I'm here!"

"If you don't want to I totally get it."

"No! I want to. I'm on my way now."

"Oh ok cool, see you soon then."

"Ok, bye"

"Bye."

*Click* And with that being done we're one step closer to keeping the family together. I open my phone to Mr. Blackbourne's app and place my next call to him. He picks up on the first ring.

"Miss Sorenson, is everything alright?"

Why does everyone keep asking me that? Do I really only call when something is wrong? "Yes sir everything's fine. I just spoke to Kota. I'm going over to his house now."

"Miss Sorenson, you don't need my permission to hang out with any of the boys."

He thinks I'm asking permission? "Oh no, I know sir. I was just saying... uh I was thinking..."

"What exactly are you trying to tell me Miss Sorenson?"

Great, now I'm royally screwing this up. "I was just thinking that maybe it's time to include Kota on the plan. With my introduction coming up soon I just thought that it would be better if Kota know sooner rather than later and-"

He interrupts my ramblings by saying, "Breathe Miss Sorenson. I understand what you're trying to say. I agree that Mr. Lee should be informed soon. Leave that up to me. Just go spend some time with him and we'll work out the details later."

Of course he would. Mr. Blackbourne is nothing if not prepared. "Yes sir, not a problem."

"Goodbye Miss Sorenson."

"Goodbye Mr. Blackbourne."

*Click* And with that call over, it's time to see Kota.

I put on a hunter green sweater that I hope Kota will like, and send a text to Nathan that I'm heading over to Kota's. I don't want him to worry in case he comes back and finds me gone. When I get to Kota's house I ring the bell and Jessica answers. "Oh, hi Sang."

"Hi Jessica."

"Come in, Kota's in his room."

"Thanks."

With that she closes the door and heads to her room. My walk up the stairs to Kota's room is filled with thoughts of how I'm going to pull this off. Should I be flirty and obvious like Gabriel, or laid back and casual like Victor? My phone goes off in my hiding place in my bra, and I pull it out to see a reply from Nathan.

Nathan: Ok Peanut, have fun.

And with that one sentence all the tension I hadn't realized I had leaves my body. This is Kota, all I have to do is be myself. I get to Kota's room and see him sitting at his desk over what looks like a chemistry set. Leave it to Kota to be doing school work over winter break.

"Hi Kota."

He jumps slightly in his chair, startled by the sound of my voice. He must have been deep in thought as well. He turns in his chair to greet me with what I can only describe as the most adorable smile on his face. "Hey Sang."

I return his smile with one of my own and hope it says how happy I am to see him. As I walk over to him I ask, "What are you working on?"

At this he looks down sheepishly and moves his hand to rub the back of his neck the way he does when he's embarrassed or nervous about something. "Oh its nothing, just some stuff I was messing with."

"Like what?"

He turns back towards the desk and starts to put things away. "Just something to keep busy. I don't want to bore you with the details."

Like anything he says to me could ever be boring. So I tell him, "No really, what is it, I'm curious."

His eyes widen just the slightest bit as if what I've said surpprised him somehow. "Really? Are you sure? Because we can totally do something else, whatever you want."

A giggle escapes me as I say, "Seriously Kota, show me what you're working on."

It's like I switched a flip and suddenly he's explaining how mixing certain chemicals creates different reactions based on their PH levels and oxidation. Truthfully, most of it goes over my head but I listen intently as I watch how his emerald green eyes light up as he talks about it. Soon enough he's mixing two chemicals and as he adds a third the chemicals slowly change color and poofs with a beautiful cloud of light pink smoke.

I can barely contain the grin that's escaping my face as I ask him how he knows so much about this. Just as he's about to answer his phone goes off. As he lifts it off the table a slight frown appears on his handsome face. I hate when any of my boys are sad and would do anything in the world to fix it.

He slides his phone into his pocket after replying to the text and starts to stand. "Sorry Sang, that was Mr. Blackbourne. He needs to talk to me about something."

I try to hide the disappointment on my face since I know what he probably wants to talk about. With a smile I say, "That's ok, I understand. I'm just glad I got to spend some time with you."

His cheeks tint a little pink at this, and instantly that adorable smile is back. He leans in to hug me and then nudges his nose with mine in our signature Eskimo kiss. He leans his forehead against mine and promises to make it up to me. His lips are just a hairsbreadth away from mine and I instantly think about how soft they would feel in a kiss.

Up to this point I've kissed all of my boys, including Dr. Sean, except for Kota, and of course Mr. Blackbourne, but let's not get ahead of ourselves. We're nowhere near there yet, if we ever will be. Kota on the other hand is right in front of me, and before I can lose my nerve I quickly close the distance and seal my lips to his in a light peck. He quickly tenses up as if unsure the kiss was on purpose and slightly backs away breaking the seal.

I take a step back and lower my head, instantly regretting the decision I've made. I shouldn't have forced him into that, but I was so sure he wanted to... all those times where it looked like he was going to and then stopped because of that stupid rule! "Kota I'm..."

"Sang you didn't have-," we rushed out at the same time.

He takes a deep breath and continues his statement. "Sang you didn't have to do that; I'm not trying to rush you into anything you're not ready for."

My head snaps up at his sentiment, and seeing the torn look on his face makes me wish he didn't believe that. "Kota, you aren't rushing me into anything," I exclaim. "I did it because I wanted to... because I... I like you Kota..."

The silence that follows is chilling and at the same time louder than any response he could have verbally given. I'm instantly regretting my very rash attempt at bravery when I'm suddenly attacked by his lips. It only takes a second for me to relax into the kiss. It's soft, but firm at the same time, and sweet much like Kota himself. His hand comes up to cup my cheek as he breaks away and touches his forehead to mine.

As his thumb rubs against my cheek he says, "I like you too Sang." His words cause the biggest smile to appear on my face, and his quickly matches my own. "I really hate to end this, but I should go see what Mr. Blackbourne wants to talk to me about."

He could've told me the sky was falling and I wouldn't have cared, but I needed to remember our endgame. I needed to let him go now so that we could be together later. "You're right, I shouldn't keep you."

He removes his hand from my face to grab mine and interlocks our fingers together. "Are you going to be ok on your own?" he asks as we walk toward the stairs.

"I'll be fine, North's at the diner right? I'll go see if I can help."

Once we get outside he gives me another hug, and a quick kiss on the lips, I'll never get tired of their kisses. "I'll call you later ok?" he tells me, and then all too soon he's in his car and backing out the driveway.
