Chapter 4

I'm sorry for not updating fast guys. I'm trying to work out a schedule but it's so frustrating.

"Whoa, Edaline wasn't kidding about the whole 'Lady Sophie' thing." Keefe murmured, which made Sophie jump- and then reel on Sandor for not giving her a heads up that she had visitors.

Sandor, Bo, and Ro waited in the hallway while Sophie and Keefe were talking about Team Valiant and Keefe's memories.

About an hour in Keefe felt tired.

A Lot of stuff for Foster today. Even thinking Bronte is her biological father. We all know it wouldn't be someone she knows so well. But Councilor Oralie is totally her mom.

After a few minutes, Sophie started explaining to Sandor, Ro and Bo about her unmatchable mess when a voice cleared their throat. She braced herself for an awkward conversation with Grady but instead, when she turned around, the blood drained from her face.

Fitz... she transmitted.

"You're unmatchable?" He said, ignoring the girl's plea to transmit to her.

"Hiya Fitzy! We were waiting for you to show up." Keefe said, trying to be calm.

Fitz scoffed making a remark that they didn't know he was coming.

"Someone's grumpy." He mumbled.

"Seriously, Sophie." His accent sounded sharper than usual. " What did Keefe mean you're unmatchable?"

Sophie became fidgety and sweat tore down her face. She didn't know why she felt so "caught" when Fitz came in.

"I-" she started

Keefe butted in the space between the pair.

Always gotta save the day.

"It's one of those 'Things That Only Happen to Foster' kind of situation. You know how it is. She always has to be all mysterious."

"Actually, I don't know," Fitz snapped back. " But apparently you do?"

"Trust me, Fitz, don't make this more stressful for her."

Fitz sighed. " I just want to know what's going on with my girlfriend. Is that so hard to ask?"

"I didn't want to tell you because then it would be real, and I'm not ready to find out what would happen next."

Sophie took the silence from Fitz as a time to explain everything that happened since she last talked to him.

"I'm sorry." She repeated when she finished.

"Just, promise me one thing," Fitz said after some silence. " Tell me stuff, and stop keeping stuff from me. Especially if it impacts me."

There was a slight difference in his eyes, making them sparkle.

"Okay," Sophie whispered.

As she said it, his eyes closed and the pair grew closer.

"Excuse me, I don't mean intrude, so I'll just go," Keefe said, making Sophie stumble and fall.

"Sorry." He said and left with Ro.

Fitz and Sophie laughed while getting up.

I realized I haven't updated, and its been like 30 days, so really sorry. I played Fire Emblem a little too much.
