The stars were bright that night. Shining onto her tanned skin almost making her glow in a way.

She knew it was him.

He promised he'd find his way back to her. That he's always be with her. Sometimes she can still hear him.

Her watering eyes gazed up at the stars noticing how they all glistened brightly. Her pink lips curved slightly at the corners, wetness dripping down over them.

She didn't understand why it had to be him. Why it had to be like this. She was only falling in love with him. She was in love with him.

It was tough to go on without him, especially it only being two months after his death.

Truth be told, she felt guilty. Guilty for sleeping with Eddie so quickly after his death. But, at the same time she didn't.

He made her feel better. He made her forget. Eddie understood her and didn't look at her like someone who could break any second unlike Steve or Dustin.

She knew Billy might've liked Eddie, just for his personality and the way he treated Gracie. Billy told her to not hold on to him forever and move on slowly, even days before his death.

So she did so- yet it still ate her alive at the fact. She never imagined herself with anyone else besides him. But Eddie wasn't a relationship. It wasn't anything. It was a hookup, it hardly meant a thing.

Maybe it was just the next step of moving on. So she gazed up at the sky, watching the stars twinkle when her eyes met them and she smiled.

Not a small smile but a big one, one that was real and full of emotion. She knew she had to let go, but she would still remember him and think about him.

She just couldn't hold onto something that wasn't there anymore.
