[Her Destiny]

Kayadhu, the beautiful princess of the serpent kingdom, was a picture of despair. Her heart was heavy with sorrow, her eyes filled with tears. She was torn between her duty towards her kingdom and her own freedom. The thought of marrying the cruel Demon King Hiranyakashipu was unbearable.

With a heavy heart, Kayadhu turned to face the Demon King Hiranyakashipu.

Her eyes, usually bright and full of life, were now filled with sorrow and determination. She stood tall, her posture radiating strength and resilience.

"King Hiranyakashipu," she began, her voice steady despite the turmoil within her.

"I request some time to ponder over your proposal. This is not a decision to be made in haste. It affects not just my life, but the lives of all the citizens of the kingdom."

Hiranyakashipu, the Demon King, looked at Kayadhu with a cruel smile.

His eyes gleamed with a wicked delight as he heard her request for time.

"Very well," he said, his voice echoing through the silent hall.

"I will grant you this... reprieve. But remember, princess, the sands of time wait for no one. The fate of your father and your kingdom hangs in the balance."

His laughter, cold and harsh, filled the room as he dismissed her. The threat was clear - she had been granted time, but it was merely a stay of execution.

The Demon King was confident that she had no other choice but to accept his proposal.

The future of the serpent kingdom was uncertain, but one thing was clear - their princess was not one to be underestimated. Her courage and determination gave them hope, a glimmer of light in the darkness that had befallen their kingdom.

With a heavy heart, Kayadhu retreated to her chambers. The weight of the decision she had to make was immense, and she felt as though she was carrying the world on her shoulders.

Her once vibrant eyes were clouded with worry, and her usually radiant face was pale.

She sank to her knees with her hands clasped in prayer in front of the idol of Lord Vishnu, the preserver of the universe. Her voice, usually clear and melodious, was choked with emotion as she poured out her heart to the deity.

Her words echoed in the silent room, a poignant reminder of the dire situation she was in.

"Why, oh Lord, is my destiny tied to such a cruel demon?" she cried. "Why must I sacrifice my happiness for the sake of my kingdom? Is this the path you have chosen for me?"

"Oh Lord Vishnu," she continued to pray, "I am at crossroads, and I do not know which path to take. I am torn between my duty to my people and my own freedom. I seek your guidance in this dark hour."

Her heart ached with the injustice of it all. She had always been a dutiful daughter, a loving princess, a beacon of hope for her people. And yet, her fate was to be bound to a demon king, the very embodiment of cruelty and destruction.

As she prayed, her tears fell like pearls, their glow illuminating the dark corners of the room.

Despite the despair that threatened to consume her, Kayadhu did not falter. She continued to pray; her faith unwavering.

As she prayed, her tears fell like pearls, their glow illuminating the dark corners of the temple. She begged Lord Vishnu for guidance, for strength, for the courage to face her destiny.

Despite her despair, there was a spark of hope in her heart. She believed in Lord Vishnu, in his wisdom and his justice. She knew that he would not abandon her in her time of need. With this faith, she faced her destiny, her spirit unbroken, her resolve unwavering.

As Kayadhu prayed fervently, her pleas reached the divine ears of Lord Vishnu.

Touched by her plight, Lord Vishnu decided to send help to his devotee. He turned to Goddess Lakshmi, the goddess of wealth and prosperity, and asked her to go to his ardent devotee in disguise.

Goddess Lakshmi, taking the form of an old wise woman, appeared before Kayadhu.

The princess, unaware of the old woman's true identity, welcomed her with respect and kindness.

The disguised Goddess Lakshmi looked at Kayadhu with compassion in her eyes.

She said, "Dear child, I understand your pain and the heavy burden you carry. But sometimes, our destinies are intertwined with others in ways we cannot comprehend. You are meant to marry the demon king Hiranyakashipu. It is the only way for his salvation and the betterment of the three worlds. Your marriage to the Demon King might seem like a curse, but it could also be a blessing in disguise."

Kayadhu listened to the old woman's words and replied with a sorrowful voice, "But how can I marry a demon? I am a simple woman with no such aspirations."

Old woman smiled softly and assured Kayadhu, "No, Dear. You aren't a simple woman. You are the beacon of hope for the three worlds. You will be blessed with a son who will be a great devotee of Lord Vishnu. He will be the one to end Hiranyakashipu's tyranny and restore peace to the world."

Now as she knew that the fate of not only her kingdom but also the fate of the three worlds rested on her shoulders, she said to the old woman with a deep sigh, "I understand, wise woman. I will do what is necessary for my people. I will do everything for the betterment of my kingdom and the three worlds."

With those words, Goddess Lakshmi knew that Kayadhu had the strength and courage to face her destiny.

She blessed Kayadhu and disappeared, leaving the princess with a renewed sense of purpose and determination.

Little did Kayadhu know that she had been visited by a goddess, and that her prayers had indeed been heard.
