Demon King Hiranyakshipu, son of Sage Kashyap and Daksha Putri (daughter of Daksha who is in-charge of creation)  Diti. He had a brother Hiranyaksha who was killed by Varaha, 3rd avatar of Lord Vishnu. That's why, He hates Lord Vishnu to the core and prevents anyone from being a Vishnu devotee. He conquered Heaven after the penance as he got a boon from Lord Brahma.  He also married Kayadhu without her will.
