1. welcome! What's your name? [or what you prefer to be called]
A: I go by Faux casually, but also Lillian of your prefer.
2. Do you think your writing/art has developed over the years/months?
A: I think everyday I spend drawing moves me forward in terms of improvement. Even of I don't notice it at first, every drawing seems to last to at least subtly move me closer to my goal. If the drawing is god awful (and boy, do I have those days), I can always analyze what went wrong and implement it for the future. Same goes for writing.
3. What do you enjoy doing in your spare/free time?
A: A whole lot of nothing, honestly.
I always enjoy video games (this includes but is not limited to: Nintendo, Pokémon, and Dangan Ronpa), analyzing film and television, and staring into space being unnecessarily philosophical.
Oh, and in-depth character analysis. Yup. That's a thing I do for fun.
4. Which artist (s)/ author (s) do you favor?
A: In terms of role models for art, there are way too many to count.
Here are a few:
Ken Sugimori (Pokémon games have such great art, honestly)
Rui Komatsuzaki
Kazuki Yone
Arin Hanson (Hey I'm Grump...)
Studio Ghibli
Pixar
On Wattpad:
SaitheVivana
Jadenite_12
Ralder
Rainbowtuft
And many more!
5. When did you discover you liked art (painting, drawing, etcetera)/ writing?
A: I have that typical story of 'I've always been drawing since I was but a wee child.' I always wanted to do it seriously, but it wasn't until middle school that I realized I might just be good enough to make that dream a reality.
6. when did you discover Wattpad?
A: When WildUntilTheEnd started discussing her addiction to it. She dragged me into this mess. I hope your proud, you polar bear you.
7. When did you begin sharing your art and publishing your writing?
A: Soon after addicted polar bear tried to drag me down with her.
She succeeded.
Honestly though, due to intense anxiety surrounding being immortalized as something humiliating on the internet, I didn't post a thing until I sold my first painting. After that, I posted the sold piece as celebratory measure and just sort of... never stopped posting.
8. What motivates/inspires you to draw/write?
A: Motivation is hit or miss for me. It's fickle and hard to keep steady, so I try to force myself to draw even if the motivation for it is absent ('try' being the key word there).
In terms of what really gets me revved up for artwork, I'd have to stay the idea of millions of stories in my head being put on paper.
Seeing game/animation artwork is one surefire way to motivate me. I marvel at seeing how stories and themes are expressed through artwork.
Having art rivals can also help for getting you going (and by that I just mean "competitive friends who both happen to like the same thing," because I'm a wimp with self-esteem problems and I can't handle anything past that level of instensity).
9. Well, thanks for doing this interview! Do you have any words for our viewers?
A: I suppose I should either say something witty and sarcastic or meaningful and encouraging. I'll go with the latter for once.
I'd say that to any of you who are doubting your worth as an artist, wether you be a complete beginner, or a full-time professional, remember that the length of your journey doesn't determine your aunthencity as an artist. It's your enjoyment in the craft you love that matters. So if this describes you, I want you to say to yourself right now: I am am artist. Wether that be an author, musician, visual artist, whatever. You are an artist and you deserve to let yourself have that credit.
I talk too much.
