Day 1 - Awakening

The heat of the room was obvious, the atmosphere was stifling and the darkness was absorbing, when opening his eyes, Ryoma entered internally in an overwhelming panic, I looked around realizing that for some reason he was sleeping under a desk, between the cables and the heat of voltage protectors, he came out from below that desk to realize that he was locked in a hexagon of no more than 12 meters of area, 4 to 5 meters diagonally and 3 meters high, with walls painted in dark blue, almost black, without visible ventilation, a door on one side that said "bathroom", above each desk there was a high-end computer, keyboard and office mice, monitors large enough to provide some light (5 in fact on each wall of the hexagonal), looking down there noticed 4 other people in addition to the same, in a deep sleeping position, against their head, a black-headed effect, and checked if their face was blown up, and a black blow to their face, followed them.

"AHHH-what?" he said as he lifted up his head after giving himself such a blow. "Who are you?!" said the stranger as he looked at Ryoma with some disappointment.

"C-Calm down, it wasn't my intention to scare you," I exclaimed the brown-haired boy with tones in a dark, attractive-looking, and rather thin-eyed "I'm Ryoma...and you?"

"My name is Kosuke," replied the opposite, "what is this place?, Did you bring me here?" I asked Kosuke as he looked at the darkness around the room.

Little by little, the others began to wake up and come out from under their respective desks. The light of the screen was reflected in a small adhesive that they carried on their left chest; it looked like a sort of dark-colored scarf that had written the person's name and an identification number.

"Well, I demand an explanation of what we're doing here and what's going on!" He demanded a boy of refined appearance who was pedant, had dark hair, and was long; according to his shaft, he was called Riota.

"Could you let me sleep? Or what?Wait where I am?" I asked a confused boy with glasses and a somewhat empowered appearance; according to his ass, he was named Yasuo.

There was only one person missing, and he was just staying and watching the others without much concern, turning around and looking against the wall in order to continue sleeping.

The others. On the contrary, they were consumed by the confusion of being trapped in a place unknown to them.

with the claustrophobic feeling of not seeing the sunlight again, of seeing only the artificial light of the screens that surrounded them.

The sound of a burning whistle alerted all five inside the room. A sharp whistle filled the air, echoing the hexagonal walls and adding a new level of anxiety to the already-loaded environment. They all looked at each other, looking for answers in the confused faces of their fellow prisoners.

A metal click resounded in the room, followed by an electrical noise announcing the activation of a microphone. A distorted echo filled the room before a cold mechanical voice broke the silence.

"You must be the new... I hope you have your short rest. Enjoy their comfort, which will not last long," the voice announced, without revealing their origin or purpose.

The hearts of Ryoma, Kosuke, Riota, Yasuo, and the mysterious sleeping accelerated to unison. They looked around, trying to locate the source of the voice, but no camera or speaker was visible in the room.

"Rest? What the hell is this?" Ryoma asked, with a knot in her throat as she fought against the growing sense of claustrophobia.

"What do you want from us?!" asked Riota, with a mixture of indignation and fear in his voice.

The enigmatic voice continued with his speech, ignoring the questions of the captives. "You have been carefully selected to perform various tasks; you will see it soon."

A tense silence seized the room as the five processed the information. The words of the mysterious host made it clear that they were trapped in something much greater than themselves.

"I will provide you with instructions soon. For now, I urge you to cooperate and prepare to enter the routine day," the voice concluded before disappearing in an electronic echo.

Ryoma exchanged gazes with the other prisoners, reading the mixture of fear, uncertainty, and determination in their eyes. They knew they had to join forces if they had any hope of surviving this strange and sinister game.

With their hearts beating strongly and their minds filled with unanswered questions, they prepared to face the unknown that awaited them in the shadows of that room.

The burning heat surrounding the room seemed more intense with every second that passed. Ryoma was struggling to control the panic that invaded him as he tried to understand the strange situation in which he was. He could not help feeling that each breath was more difficult, as if the air itself was loaded with an invisible weight that oppressed his chest.

With flimsy movements, he departed from underneath the desk, feeling the wires wrapping around his legs and the heat of the strain protectors against his skin. Every step he took reminded him of the feeling of being trapped in a dream he couldn't wake up from.

Once out of his improvised confinement, Ryoma contemplated with horror the limited space in which he was. The hexagon in which they were locked barely gave them room to move, and the dark walls that surrounded them seemed to be closed over them like the fauces of a hungry beast.

The others, too, began to wake up and come out of their hiding under the desks. The light from the screens illuminated the confused and concerned faces of their fellow captivity, each with its own name and identification number on a small sticker on the chest.

However, the feeling of relief from not being alone was overshadowed by the growing uncertainty about what awaited them. The sudden appearance of a whistle and the unknown voice speaking through a microphone only increased the tension in the room.

Ryoma exchanged gazes with the other prisoners, acknowledging the urgent need to find answers amid confusion and fear. Every word pronounced by the enigmatic voice only added more questions to a list that seemed endless.

"We must remain united," said Ryoma, with his trembling but firm voice. "We don't know what awaits us, but together, we have a better chance of surviving."

"And who the hell appoints you as a leader?!" exclaimed Riota.

"I'm just saying... it's better to try to work as a team than to go each on his side... to be honest, it's not like we have many options."

His companions assented in silence, aware that they were trapped in danger from which they could not easily escape. With their hearts beating in unison, they prepared to face the unknown, knowing that the real challenge was just beginning in that hexagonal room that had become their prison.

"I'm working with the fat," said Riota with a very preponderant voice.

"Shut up, son of a bitch!" I'm sure mom and dad brought you here to make friends for once in your life," Kosuke replied, clearly offended.

After much discussion and insults in vain, the computers turned on from scratch, showing a customized operating system saying "RevenantOS." As it started, an introductory menu appeared, and everyone approached the screens to see exactly what it was.

When entering the introductory menu, it said the following:

"Welcome new employees, The Revenant initiative has carefully selected you from a comprehensive selection process to determine which of you will stay with a prestigious position in our dear company, of which we cannot give you information about their respective jobs both by the TOS clauses and for confidentiality during our selection process.

"Take this day as your day off, explore your surroundings, and feel comfortable, due to the fact that, until the principal auditor of the good view has everything in the hands of the examining group, any complaint or suggestion will be read and used as feedback."

A great deal of confusion surrounded everyone in the room. They looked at each other, trying to come to a conclusion, but there were no clear answers. The only thing that I got right was the fact that I had to please, at any cost necessary, these bureaucrats of the examining group.

Ryoma broke the status quo and just looked deeper into the introductory menu. I noticed that the computers had no way to see the time, the internal clock was completely hidden, and the computer's power plan was put in a customized mode called "work 2 live, 4 achieve, 7 goals." What did that mean? What had to be done? There was no answer. Kosuke entered the bathroom; it seemed to have been a panic attack. Riota, on his part, tried to continue researching the computers to see if he found anything useful.

I noticed that the programs that were on the computer were typical of an office, but some of them were very strange and did not make any sense. For example, there was one called "Random Item Timer Manager (RITM)" that showed a timer only without any configuration or way to interact with it.

In the midst of chaos and confusion, the boys clung to the only certainty that remained: the urgent need to remain united against the darkness that threatened to consume them. But even in unity, cracks emerged—fissures in the fragile armor of the comradeship—as tension and fear undermined the foundations of their trust.

The minutes slipped like sand between the fingers, each loaded with the palpable threat of the unknown. In the shadows of the hexagonal room, the five prisoners struggled to find a beam of hope, a crack in the wall of despair that surrounded them.
