50. Gita Ka Saar

In the resplendent confines of the Hastinapur garden, the celestial deities congregated to partake in the mellifluous discourse bestowed upon them by the revered Krishna. Serenely settled, the divine assemblage eagerly awaited the profound wisdom that flowed from the lips of the Supreme Being, which would serve as an anchor amidst the tempestuous seas of Kaliyuga.

Initiating the discourse, the sovereign of the three realms expounded upon the immortal essence of the soul, unravelling the intricate tapestry of Karma Yoga, Jnana Yoga, Sankhya Yoga, and Buddhi Yoga to his devoted followers. Unveiling the veils of mysticism, he regaled his disciples with tales of his divine incarnations.

With a smile gracing his countenance, Bhishma inquired, "Oh Prabhu, does the soul meet its demise?"

The luminary Krishna, with a benevolent smile adorning his visage, replied, "Verily, the soul neither takes birth nor perishes."

Arjuna, his palms joined in reverent supplication, ventured forth with a question that stirred the depths of his soul, "Pray tell, why does this world bear witness to diverse occurrences?"

With unfathomable wisdom, Krishna reassured, "Everything that unfolds, transpires for the greater good; every present happening unfolds for the good; even the future shall manifest its benevolence." His gaze shifted towards Karna, intriguing the minds of all present.

"Should we rue our past or fret over the future?" Karna inquired, a gentle smile adorning his countenance.

"There is no need for remorse over the past, nor anxiety for the future. Embrace the present, for it is the sole reality," responded Krishna, his smile radiating profound tranquility.

Inquisitively, Bhishma and Arjuna chimed in, "Does metamorphosis hold significance in the grand tapestry of existence?"

"Change is the eternal edict of the cosmos. That which you perceive as death signifies the genesis of a new life. The corporeal vessel, comprised of fire, water, air, earth, and ether, shall dissolve into its elemental constituents. However, the soul, unassailable and everlasting, prevails. Who, then, are you?" Krishna's enigmatic query planted seeds of perplexity within the minds of his audience.

Arjuna, with sincere humility, confessed, "We remain confounded, Keshava."

"Devote yourself wholeheartedly to God, and therein shall you find the revelation of your being," Krishna imparted, his words carrying the weight of absolute truth.

"Pray, elucidate the essence of Ashtanga Yoga," Arjuna implored, his countenance beset with bewilderment.

"In the mastery of the mind lies the essence of Yoga," Krishna responded, a smile playing upon his lips.

And so, curiosity ignited within the hearts of the multitude as they yearned to behold the awe-inspiring Vishwarupa of Krishna. Bestowing his divine grace upon them, Krishna unveiled his resplendent cosmic form. In its boundless expanse, the entire universe, replete with its denizens and celestial beings, stood unveiled before the rapturous onlookers.

Amidst the revelation of the Vishwarupa, Krishna disclosed that this sacred sight would be reserved solely for those future beings who would tread the righteous path of dharma. Unfolding the multifaceted avenues of spiritual discipline, the saga of divine wisdom continued unabated.

In the culminating moments, Krishna beseeched all to forsake every vestige of worldly obligations and unreservedly surrender unto him, thus attaining liberation. He proclaimed this spiritual emancipation as the ultimate rebirth, a gateway to eternal salvation.

Enraptured by the mellifluous utterances of Shri Krishna, a pervasive calm and joy enveloped the assembly, caressing their souls. Shikhandini, in particular, experienced an ethereal elation that uplifted her spirit. Bhishma, gratified beyond measure, basked in the grandeur of the profound verses cascading from the lips of the universal lord.

In that sublime moment, Shikhandini and Bhishma, their luminous auras aglow, found respite as the lingering curses bestowed upon them by Maharishi Vashishtha, in their previous existence, dissolved into oblivion. An ethereal energy coursed through their beings, embracing them in its ephemeral embrace.

And then, as if summoned by destiny's decree, they gracefully reverted to their original incarnations. The attending multitude, save for Karna, Shri Krishna, Devi Rukmini, Bhagwan Parashurama, and Maharishi Vashistha, stood astonished, for they beheld the revelation that Bhishma was the accursed Vasu, and Shikhandini his destined consort.

As one, they paid homage, offering profound obeisance. Bhishma, also known as Prabhakar, beseeched a union in holy matrimony with Shikhandini, yearning to spend the remaining chapters of his life, in blissful communion with his beloved, as Prabhas.

And thus, a magnificent wedding unfurled, transcending the boundaries of grandeur. Bhishma and Shikhandini were united in sacred matrimony amidst the auspicious festivities. Devi Ganga, the divine mother, graced the occasion with her benevolent presence, showering her blessings upon her son and daughter-in-law. Tenderly, she implored Bhishma to accompany her to her ethereal abode. The compassionate souls, attuned to the depths of her longing, acquiesced, and the following day, the entire Kuru lineage gathered at the banks of the revered Ganges.

With Bhishma and Shikhandini poised by the river's edge, Bhishma articulated his final wish, to savor the butter once relished by the young Krishna in Gokul. The divine Krishna, with comforting words, assured Bhishma that in the embrace of his mother, the taste of that cherished butter would be bestowed upon him. In assent, Bhishma bid his farewell, uttering words that welled tears within every eye.

"O vast firmament! May my motherland thrive, adorned by the warm touch of the sun, sheltered by the comforting shade of trees, nourished by bountiful rain. May the blossoms of lotuses grace its waterways, perfuming the air with their delicate fragrance. May its rivers flow pristine and abundant. May my land forever gleam like the unobscured sun!"

With those poignant words, Bhishma and Shikhandini closed their eyes, surrendering to the loving embrace of the holy Ganges. Tears cascaded freely, yet swiftly subdued, as a solemn promise to Bhishma forbade the shedding of sorrowful lamentations upon his departure.

Following the thirteen-day period of mourning, life gradually returned to its familiar rhythm. All the kings anointed Karna as the unrivaled Chakravartin Samrat, sovereign of the entire Aryavart. Under his wise and just rule, Karna unified the denizens of Aryavart, championing the principles of liberty, equality, and felicity. The people of Aryavart were blessed to have Karna as their leader.

Karna, with his valiant efforts, shielded Aryavart from the harrowing clutches of the Mahabharata, saving countless lives and emancipating women from the shackles of subjugation. Karna revolutionized Aryavart, bringing forth the winds of change that were essential for the forging of a glorious nation.

Observing the ethereal tapestry of joy woven across the globe, Shri Krishna, the divine flautist, adorned the celestial stage. His mellifluous melodies reverberated through the cosmos, weaving a harmonious symphony that uplifted spirits and propelled all souls toward a radiant and resplendent future.
