Chapter 1: Getting Started

—Ralph Waldo Emerson
Before we even think about getting into this story, first you have to know who we are.
"We" are the three Sisters of Fate, known throughout Hyrule for the things we do. We aren't related by blood, though. We're just normal people, hated and loved, and definitely heard of. Most people are scared of us, however. Also, no one has ever seen us. We're always in disguise, so no one even remembers us.
If you walked down the street and passed crowds of people, honestly, how many of them would you remember? Probably none. That's why we can get away with what we do.
There's Luck, Hope, and then me: Karma.
Interesting names, I know. But they do have a purpose. Let me give you an idea:
First, there's Luck. She's the oldest sister, at 19. She's also the cruelest of us all. Her hair is red and fiery like her attitude, and has smooth waves in it that go to her hips, when it's up in a high ponytail. Bright green eyes contrast it quite nicely, and add to her signature smirk. There's a small birthmark below her right eye of a small four-leafed clover, which enforces her name. Also, she's dangerous. She carries an axe on her back, and is skilled when it comes to throwing it!
Hope and I, and probably everyone else in Hyrule have a nickname for her: Bad Luck. Why? Let me give you some insight.
Luck does whatever she wants, whenever she wants. She'll walk past someone, and just grab their wallet and go before they know it's gone. Or, she might see a homeless person and beat them senseless just because she can. Her name describes it all, though. It's simply just luck that she stumbled upon you. She can do good, and I know it, but she rarely does.
When she was little, her parents took her to the market as a treat because it was her father's first day off in about 3 years. So, they were all carefree and happy—and bam! A carriage hit her parents and killed them, and they barely pushed her out of the way in time. It was because of bad luck that they died.
One more thing you need to know about Luck: She always follows orders, and always keeps promises no matter what the cost. She's pretty bossy and demanding, but Hope always convinces me that she cares for us.
Hope is probably the most optimistic person on the planet.
Hope is so kind and innocent, that you'd think she was an angel come to land. She's the youngest, only at 16. Her hair is made of bleach blonde ringlets, and she usually holds it up in two pigtails with blue butterfly clips. Her eyes are aqua blue, are brighter than any star, and hold more deep beauty than an oasis in a desert wasteland. She usually has a bow and quiver full of arrows as her weapon, and has great aim but rarely uses it. Hope doesn't like inflicting pain, but she is awesome with a bow.
One day, she found an injured white dove, and insisted we take care if it, despite Luck telling her to leave it. She cared for it, and when it was better, it refused to leave. It sits on her shoulder every day, and listens to everything she says. To distinguish it from other doves, we wrapped a light blue ribbon around its leg, and named it Peace.
She always feels the need to reassure people, and keep them happy. She always puts others above herself, and when you see her innocent beauty combined with her faith, you really think she's an angel, especially when she has a snowy dove on her shoulder. Anyways, Hope is the opposite of Luck, meaning she keeps the people moving. She gives hope, obviously. When she is walking around and sees a pregnant woman, she'll tell her that everything will be fine. And when Hope says it, it's always true. It's like she sees the future or something crazy like that. Or, if she spots a homeless person, she'll "accidentally" drop fifty rupees in front of them. She gives people a reason to believe.
Hope had a pretty tragic past, compared to Luck and I. And that is saying quite a lot. Her parents always had hope, and faith, and both had terminal diseases they caught from rats that invaded their food, but stopped Hope before she ate any. Yeah, they were poor too. So anyways, they always had hope and believed that they would get better, but never did. But, Hope always has the same positive beliefs as her parents, thankfully.
Then there's me again: Karma.
I'm the middle child, because I'm 17. My attitude is sort of on the fence, between Luck and Hope. I have silver hair, that is almost pin straight, with a slight curve to it. It shines in the sunlight, like it's actual silver. My eyes are violet, and Hope loves them. Usually, I tie a triangular bandana with the Triforce printed on it around my head, so that it covers my nose and mouth, and goes an inch past my chin. Really, all you see is my piercing violet eyes and silver hair, while the rest is concealed with the Triforce. I usually have daggers as my weapons, that I put in my boots and strap to my forearms. I'm also very skilled in hand-to-hand combat, and move with the speed of lightning.
Out of all of us, people are scared of me the most. Why me and not Luck, you ask? Because I'm more unpredictable and extreme. I am Karma.
When I saw through a window that a man was beating his wife, I kept an eye on him and killed him later that day. People always know it's a sign from the Sisters of Fate, but no one objects to it. But I don't just repent you for bad things, I reward you for the good as well!
One of the most tragic things that I ever saw was a man who had just returned from the war, with extensive wounds. He was wandering through town while he was bleeding out, looking for help. There was no room in the hospital, and he laid down to die. Then, a woman came and carried him to her house, where she put him on her kitchen table and let him stay, while she cared for him. But soon the medicine she needed for him was getting costly and she couldn't afford it. Because she committed herself to such a wonderful act of kindness, I left one hundred rupees on her doorstep.
Maybe I'll tell you the story of my parents at another time. They were good people, who were killed unfairly by bad people. I didn't like that, so I started to pay people back so nothing unfair happens like what happened to me.
So, that's us. Karma, Luck, and Hope. The three Sisters of Fate.
Now, back to present time.
We were just hired—yes, we take jobs, if anyone can find us—by some weird guy named Ganondorf. He acts all powerful, but I know that if I try and do something bad to him, he'll kill me. I might be Karma, but I'm just a normal teenager otherwise.
Anyways, he said he wants us to help him conquer Hyrule. Likely story. So, he's recruited us.
Luck is going to tell the Kokiri that she's lost, so that they'll take care of her. Luck will gain their trust, so that she can get close to them. She'll go into the Lost Woods and raise an army of Skull Kids for Ganondorf's fleet, and then use them to kill the Kokiri.
Hope is going for the less violent approach, obviously. She's going to travel to the Zoras and tell them she has amnesia, so they'll let her stay. Then when she has their trust, she's going to use a spell Ganon gave her to freeze the Zora's Domain and trap them.
Finally, me once again. I, Karma, am going for the risky approach. I'm going to stab myself with one of my daggers, and wander to the Sheikah. They'll take me in of course, because I'm injured. After I infiltrate them, I'm going to learn their ways and fighting, so that I know the skills needed to kill them.
They Sheikah are strong warriors, so Ganon needs them to be out of his way because they have ties to the royal family.
So, that means I kill either all of them or none of them. There's no half ground here.
To help us out, he even gave us small palm-sized mirrors. They connect with each other, so that we can communicate while we're on the job. We can check on each other's progress, and get in sync.
The attack is planned to happen in one month. One more important rule about how we work:
Don't get close to anyone, and don't develop any feelings for anybody. If you do, you're a dead traitor.
