"Woo!" Karl shouted happily, Quackity and SapNap laughing together. SapNap's black locks flashed a bright orange , giving an orange glow to his surroundings. They flowed as they did so, falling back into their original spot once they stopped glowing. "High five!" Karl shouted, raising a hand up to Quackity. Quackity looked up just as Karl brought his hand closer, causing his eyes to widen in fear. Pupils contracting, he flinched and put his arms up a little. For a moment, he saw a memory of Schlatt flashing before his eyes.
Karl froze, eyes widening slightly. He lowered his hand, scanning his hazel colored eyes over Quackity's frightened face. SapNap must have seen how he flinched, too, for he wore a shocked expression. His coal colored eyes held worry as he stared at Quackity, mouth agape. "Quackity..?" Karl softly asked, debating whether or not to place a hand on Quackity to try and help him feel better. Quackity blinked a few times, trying to shake the image of his ex from his mind. He shook his head slightly, looking up at Karl. His eyes still held fear, but he put on a fake smile. "I'm fine– don't worry about it," he spoke, obviously lying through his teeth. Karl and SapNap exchanged glances, before SapNap scooted over to Quackity and gently placed a hand on his shoulder.
"Babes..," SapNap started. Quackity looked over his shoulder at SapNap, tensing as he noticed how worried he looked. "It's okay..trust me, no one's laying a hand on you here," SapNap continued, Karl nodding as he looked at Quackity. The three started dating only about three months, but SapNap and Karl knew plenty of Quackity's past relationship. How Schlatt abused the poor male for doing so much as to raise his voice slightly. It made their stomachs churn just at the thought of it.
Quackity's lips parted as his smile fell, trying to think of how to reply. Tears began to flood his eyes as he glanced at the ground, Karl having scooted over and rubbing his back soothingly. Quackity began to cry. It was a mixed-emotions kind of cry. Fear of what he thought would happen, but as well as relief that he finally had people that would love him and protect him. Not people that would slap him over nothing, or get drunk and bash liquor bottles over his head.
SapNap quickly – yet gently – pulled Quackity back, chest coming into contact with his back. He wrapped his arms around the distraught male , Quackity turning his head so that it was in the crook of SapNap's neck. Karl leaned over, hugging Quackity as well. Both him and SapNap peppered Quackity's face with soft kisses, reminding him they loved him and that he was okay.
