The Battle Begins

Mississippi took a moment to relax along side Kirishima and Hiei. Finally having a moment, the battleship watched as the Abyssal battleships in their way sank. As they did so, the Abyssals still left either kept up their attack for some hope of vengeance or made their away from the fleet, not seeing a point apparently with the loss of their battleships. This included the two Wo-Class carriers among the opposing forces as the retreated into the distance.

"Damn cowards..." Mississippi muttered, watching the carriers vanish over the horizon. "I thought Abyssals were supposed to be these fearless, terrible creations of chaos. Because that is not what I'm seeing before me." Maryland huffed in reply. Hiei only let out a small chuckle in reply as Kirshima pushed her glasses up on her nose.

"Though true that the Abyssals can be far more aggressive than what we have witnessed here Mississippi-San, it is not advisable to go looking for trouble if it is not required." Kirishima said, looking at the battleship. The New Mexico class member nodded her head, watching as the Mutsuki sisters, Amatsukaze, and Hatsuharu dealt with what remained of their destroyers. Watching the four race over the water's surface a moment, Mississippi eventually nodded in response as she looked to the two Kongou sisters, more anything than that the flagship, Hiei.

"I know, I know. Just saying. After we blew past the battleships, they kind of scattered." The battleship huffed as she watched Kitakami and Ooi put some torps into one of the remaining Abyssal light cruisers.

"This has been pretty recent activity for the Abyssals. They didn't do this a while ago. As far as I can tell, they started acting like this when your country got involved and started basing girls on Yokosuka." Haguro mused, sailing up next to the battleships. Mississippi looked to the heavy cruiser in confusion.

"My country? What do you mean?" She asked, looking at the Myoukou sister. Haguro nodded as Nachi approached the two.

"It's almost like the Abyssals are still trying to learn how to fight you American Kanmusu. Supposedly, our country had the same happenings when we started coming through. But with how spread apart your summonings are, it's almost like the Abyssals are in a constant state of confusion at your presence." She explained. Mississippi gave a slow nod at this, still trying to understand it fully.

"Really...?" She asked. Hiei nodded.

"Five, six months ago and you'd find that no Abyssal would run. Get rid of a battleship, their carriers would try that much harder to sink you. Not turn and retreat like we've seen today." She commented. Mississippi nodded as she prepared to say something, but found herself stopped short as a Corsair buzzed barely over her head, part way scaring the battleship.

"Lexington!" Mississippi yelled, wheeling around to look at the carrier. Carrier in question only shrugged, a small mischievous grin upon her features.

"SorrynotSorry!" She yelled, laughing as she did so. Saratoga, who was close by to the carrier, only gave a shake of the head, her own amusement present. But that was quickly brought to an end as Langley smacked both of them upside the head, giving the two of them a few choice words that Mississippi couldn't hear. The battleship laughed at the unfortunate luck of the two carriers.

"So, Mississippi-San, are you looking forward to the arrival of your sisters?" Haguro asked, looking up at the battleship as she sailed next to her. Mississippi nodded as she watched the horizon for any more movement from the Abyssals.

"Yeah. I wouldn't mind having New Mexico and Idaho on base with me. But I think if anyone's sisters need to come through, it should be Essex, Yorktown, and Pennsylvnia. The last of those more than anyone. Arizona's fixing to go stir crazy with how much she's waiting. And I imagine Lex and E aren't to far behind. Especially when Bristol, Ellyson, and Atlanta have received sisters out of the Gateway." She said as they sailed on. Those around her nodded in understanding as they kept their guard up.

"So what do you think your sisters will be like when they arrive here?" Hiei asked. Missy shrugged her shoulders.

"Couldn't tell you. I mean, from current evidence, I'd say we're gonna end up being somewhat alike at least." Mississippi guessed. Nachi arched a brow at this, placing her hands on her hips.

"Current evidence? And what evidence is this?" The heavy cruiser asked. Mississippi shrugged.

"You girls honestly. I mean, the sisterhoods already on base aren't completely the same in every way possible, but they're close enough. I mean let's look at Nagato and Mutsu for one. Though Mutsu seems to be more playful than her older sister, they're both natural leaders. And even with Mutsu's playful spirit, she still holds an air of authority about her, much like Nagato." Mississippi explained. Haguro and Nachi nodded.

"Do you think that will be the case with the rest of the American ship girls?" Haguro asked. Mississippi just laughed, shaking her head.

"For Admiral's sake, I hope not. One Maryland is enough. We need not make it three." Mississippi mused. Kirishima looked at the American battleship in rebuttal.

"Do you not think Colorado-San would be an adequate roll model for her younger sister?" She asked. Mississippi arched a brow as she looked back at the Kongou class girl.

"Have you even met your older sister?" She asked in turn. Kirishima suddenly fell quiet at the question, only nodding after a few moments.

"Fair point..." The battleship concluded. Mississippi just laughed in response as the fleet sailed on, heading for their destination of Canada.
-------------------------------------

"Shoot those bastards down!" Coral Sea yelled, watching as two of the Altered Hellcats surged overhead. The Abyssal fighters were nipping at the tails of two Zeroes, the Japanese aircraft doing their best to shake the two bogies as the rain falling from the sky gave the event a dark and ominous feeling.

The fleet had continued on their way, continually towards the Princess in the distance. As they did so, they had come under the same storm that the Princess called home, unleashing nature's wrath upon them. As the waves crashed up against the girls, Arizona and Nagato were on the constant look out for the approaching Abyssal fleet.

Thunder and lightning cracked across the sky, filling the sky with light and noise under the storm clouds as the Kanmusu of the allied fleet, making their lives at the moment total hell.

"Whose idea was this!?" Tenryuu shouted, demanding an answer to her question. Tatsuta just smirked at her sister's aggravation as they continued to battle both the elements and Abyssals alike.

"Stow it Tenryuu! We don't have the time!" Arizona bellowed over the rain, continuing to push forward. As they did so, more planes broke into the airspace overhead.

"We've got more hostiles coming our way!" Zuikaku yelled, prompting the launch of another wing of Zeroes from Shokaku.

"How many planes does the Skank have?!" Cabot demanded, moving out of the way as an Abyssal fighter crashed down into the water next to her.

"Like we've got any clue! She's just as new to us as she is to you guys!" Zuikaku yelled, ducking her head as rogue fire crisscrossed across the sky, rounds whizzing past her head in a flurry. "I don't see why we couldn't of done this outside of the storm!" She yelled.

"Because the Princess just would've continued to harass us!" Arizona yelled back. As the Super Dreadnaught peaked another wave, she caught glimpse of the dark organic metal that was so popular among their foes. "I've got visual on an Abyssal! Looks like a destroyer!" Arizona called out, alerting the fleet to the presence.

"Where there's one, there's usually more!" Atago called in reminder as she and her sister opened up, throwing warning shells at the destroyer. The animalistic being in question took this as a challenge as it met the next wave head on, popping up out of the water.

Midair, it fired back, the shells very nearly meeting the Takao sisters head on. But the destroyer wasn't alone, as more of it's fellow destroyers emerged from the rough waters, now focusing their attention on the fleet.

"Oh well this is spectacular...." Maryland sighed, watching as one of the shells bounced off of her rigging.
Not taking another moment to think about it, she fired a salvo at the approaching destroyers. Oklahoma and Arizona followed her example, giving their own salvos in addition. The load of HE shells flew through the air, landing among the destroyers in a warning like fashion.

The Abyssal destroyers paid the shells no mind as the continued to charge forward, their intent being less than kind for the approaching Allied fleet. Arizona watched them a moment before she turned, looking at the fleet.

Takao! Atago! Chicago! To the front now!" She ordered, prompting the three to move forward. Not needing another word, the Heavy Cruisers began to open fire without having to worry about friendly fire on other members of the fleet.

Arizona watched them a moment before letting her sight travel back to the horizon, trying to catch a glimpse of more of their fleet. And a glimpse is exactly what she got.

Cruisers, battleships, and carriers all decorated the water a ways from them. Watching the distant allied fleet approaching, the Abyssals stood ready to face them head on, shells loaded and primed. But among these various types and classes of Abyssals stood the one type that the Allied fleet had not counted on.

The Princess, in all of her glory, stood atop the waves as she watched the approaching Allied fleet with a thousand yard stare. She only brought herself out of it to launch another wing of her modified Hellcats.

The red aura she was giving off stood out against the black waters of the Pacific Ocean like a light house, alerting all around her to her presence. A presence that usually resulted in death, despair, and loss. As she and her fleet continued on their way, Arizona looked back to her own fleet.

"Princess sighted. Just like Shokaku said, she's in the middle of a heavily fortified fleet. We've got a fight ahead of us." She said to the fleet. Atlanta just gave a huff, putting her hands on her hips.

"Don't we always? So what if this one has got thicker armor and a bigger chest? She's going the same way that all of her friends before her have gone. And that is down." She said, looking at the battleship. Her sisters nodded in agreement as Tatsuta let out a small chuckle.

"Well said Atlanta-San. But it all depends? What will our flagship do?" The light cruiser asked, looking back at Arizona. This in turn prompted the stares from the various classes and types of the fleet to focus on Arizona. The Pennsylvania class battleship in turn only grinned in response as she turned back to the approaching Abyssals, watching them a moment as a new wing of altered Hellcats flew overhead.

"We're gonna sink a bitch. All fleet, forward. Carriers, stay close and parallel with their fleet, but do not go near them. Atlanta, you and your sisters know what to do. Yamato and Musashi, stick close to them. I know your guns can still reach the Abyssals while your AA can be used to defend the carriers. It'll be especially helpful once we manage to piss the princess off more than she already is." Arizona ordered. The fleet nodded as it split in two, the main attack force advancing on the Fleet. The carriers and their escorts were making their way off to the side, already putting new wings of fighters and bombers into the air.

Lightning flashed across the darkened sky as the flurry of allied planes made their way towards the fleet. Abyssal drones mixed with the Princess's Hellcats made their way through the air to meet them head, the two air battalions meeting in a deafening clash as machine guns opened up on both sides. Turning the sky into fire and lead, the planes battled for control as the Ships below prepared for their own engagement.

Arizona lead the attack force onward, their ultimate plan being the eventual sinking of the Abyssal princess. Charging forward, the Attack force was met with their first obstacle.

The Abyssal destroyers.

Charging forward, the Abyssal destroyers were planning on making the fleet's day more hellish that it already was. But the plan was interrupted as a full two salvos of eighteen inch high explosive shells fell among them, prompting some to burst into flames and explode. Flames towering into the air, the destroyers had their charge stopped short as the Yamato sisters prepared a reload.

Making a mental note to thank the sisters later, Arizona kept the fleet going forward as their guns opened fire, various types and sizes of shells plummeting down on the destroyers, a fate reserved especially for them. As they made their way through what remained of the destroyers, a second wave of the Animalistic beings emerged from the waves below, somewhat taking the fleet by surprise.

"Oh hell." Arizona huffed as her twelve guns focused on one destroyer in particular, practically ripping it in half as the Armor piercing shells tore their way through the monster. Watching only for a moment as it sunk to the deep, Arizona's guns were already tracking a second target by the time she looked back up.

Kongou and Haruna raced past the Dreadnaught in a flurry of fourteen inch shells, sinking each and every destroyer they could get their guns aimed at. Following in their wake came Shimikaze, putting torpedoes into each destroyer the two sisters hit, making sure to finish them off.

"Oui!" Shimakaze shouted, racing past the two Kongou sisters as she began to put more Torpedoes out into the water.

Bristol and her sister's fell out of formation as she began an onslaught of shells on the Abyssal destroyers, her sisters following the oldest's example.

"A-are you sure w-we can do this Bristol!?" Ellyson asked, racing next to her sister as the six pumped shells and torps alike into the Abyssal destroyers around them. Bristol gave a confident nod, looking at her sisters with a grin.

"Of course!" She said as she ushered them forward, charging headfirst into the ensuing chaos. Her sisters only stared in shock for a moment before following closely behind. They weren't alone for too long as Shigure, Yuudachi, and Harusame brought up the rear, adding to the Bristol's rampage.

"It's a party, poi!" Yuudachi exclaimed as she raced past the six sisters, intent on causing more chaos. Shigure and Harusame tossed waves their way as they followed their blonde monster of a sister, backing her up.

Takao and Atago charged to the right of the Abyssal fleet, Chicago following behind as she covered the rear. The three heavy cruisers began to light up the approaching light cruisers, halting their approach as they turned to face this new pest.

The towering cruisers found themselves halted though when the three Kanmusu of the allied fleet began to pump shell after shell their way, turning their skies into lead and fire. Two Ho-Class cruisers in particular bore a particularly bad part of the onslaught, six shells striking the two of them in rapid fashion, both of Japanese and American making.

With the light cruisers distracted, Nagato and Mutsu took no hesitation in zeroing in on the beings. Only a moment later, their guns exploded furiously, ripping the relatively light armored cruisers to shreds as the Nagato class continued their assault, only being followed as the three Heavy cruisers of the allied fleet back them up.

The three American battleships impaled shells into a group of He-Class cruisers, the Abyssals standing no chance at this close of a distance. Maryland hammered that fact home as her eight sixteen inch guns fired, finishing off the pathetically armored organisms. Maryland chuckled to herself as her guns began to rotate to their next target, her fairies already putting new shells in.

Arizona shook her head at the battleship as she rolled her eyes.

"Don't get cocky Mary. We can still go awry at any moment." She reasoned. Maryland blew off her warning, prompting instead to fire another salvo of HE at a group of destroyers as the fleet continued their forward attack.

Overhead, the Allied Zeroes continued to rip the Abyssal Hellcats to shreds, the Abyssal metal falling into the water below. The Abyssal drones weren't faring much better, bring separated and crushed by various pairs of Corsairs.

Just as the Corsairs were preparing to finish off the current wings of Abyssal drones, they were peppered with rounds, making them virtually useless as they plummeted into the water below. In their place, those responsible for the sudden turn of events, came a wing of Abyssal Zeroes.

The normal white bodies of the planes had been turned a solid black, looking to be oozing some black liquid as they flew overhead. The red Sun insignia so prominent for the aircraft no longer held a round shape. Instead, it now looked like someone decided that the insignias would look better as paint splatters of crimson red. The edges of the cockpit bore the usual teeth design as a black smoke like substance billowed out of the plane, rising into the sky as a warning sign to those who dare approach. Having dealt with the two Corsairs, they turned their attention to another two of the Navy Blue fighters, soon achieving the same result.

"Oh, what is this crap!" Zuikaku demanded, having spotted the new opposition as the planes began to pick off the Allied fighters with ease. "The Hellcats were one thing! This is an outrage!" She fumed.

"Gee, thanks...." Atlanta huffed as she rolled her eyes, trying to find where they were coming from. Finding the direction rather easily, all in thanks as a second wing of the Altered Zeroes dropped below the clouds, the light cruiser sighed in ago agitation.

"I blame Mary!" She shouted as her guns began to open fire at the planes flying too close overhead. Just about everyone within earshot only nodded in response, the American battleship looking like a good scapegoat at the moment.

Across the water, firing off another salvo from her eight sixteen inch guns, Maryland sneezed.

"That was odd..." She mused before turning her weapons on another of the Heavy Cruisers. Two Ne-Classes in particular caught attention, her guns following the two as they tracked them. But she found herself suddenly the prey as two of the Abyssal Zeroes dropped down low, strafing the battleship with machine gun fire. Maryland put up an arm, blocking her face from danger, as the rounds bounced off of her. "Okay! Those things are really starting to annoy me!" Maryland shouted.

"Join the club!" Oklahoma yelled back as she focused her guns on a distant battleship. The Ru had the same idea as it threw a salvo at Oklahoma, prompting the girl to duck her head as the shells pummeled her. Looking up a moment later, the movement causing some stinging, she found a second Ru focusing in on her, intent on sinking her.

The Ru's focus however was interrupted when Mutsu hit the side of the Abyssal, 8 16 inch shells slamming into the battleship in a far less armored area of her body. A part of the girl exploded in a black splash as the Abyssal let out a roar of pain, prompting it and the first Ru to turn towards Mutsu in a vengeance.

Oklahoma and Maryland didn't need to be told twice to take advantage of the situation before them. And that's exactly what they did. The two American battleships let loose as their guns fired, shells impaling the two Abyssal battleships.

The one previously already injured by Mutsu's salvo bore the brunt of this attack as well, the pain stacking up. It's presumable sister felt the first pain as the shells dented her armor, causing the Ru to turn back to the two Americans in a flurry. But the unsuspecting battleship never got the chance to try and exact her vengeance.

Her existence was put to an abrupt end as two sets of eighteen inch shells fell among the two Abyssals, the armor piercing element caring little for their armor. The Japanese fired shells ripped the two Battleships apart with ease, sending black flames into the air as the two beings erupted into explosions, their cries silenced.

Watching the two sink below the waves for a moment, Oklahoma gave a shake of the head. "Those guns are really something...." She huffed. Maryland just shook her head.

"Took my kills. Not gonna forgive for that..." She mumbled, crossing her arms in a grudge like fashion. Oklahoma rolled her eyes.

"This isn't one of your games Mary. I'm glad they were there. Better those guns pointed at the Abyssals rather than us." She said, looking at the battleship. Mary nodded.

"Ain't that the truth." The Colorado class member agreed.

"Stow that. There won't be any talk like that here." Arizona said sternly, looking at the two. Oklahoma only rolled her eyes as Maryland shrugged.

"We're not talking bad about them Ari. Just saying that we're glad that we're not Abyssals. Two totally different things..." She huffed in response. Arizona only watched her a moment before shrugging, turning her attention back to the forwards conflict. The other two did so as well after a few moments, their gaze landing on the distant Princess.

The Abyssal Princess in question had not been expecting this. She had not expected the Heathens to survive their onslaught. She had not expected the members of her fleet to be bested in a trial by fire.

Her Queen would not be satisfied until these heathens had been sunk and were finally under her control. And the Aircraft Carrier Princess would make sure it happened. All she needed... Was some help...

She launched another wing of her Hellcats as another wing of the Abyssal Zeroes arrived from the fleet sitting outside of the heathen's radar range. But first, she would have to rid herself of their carriers.

"Sink...." The Princess said in a hoarse like whisper tone, looking to the direction where she knew the group of their carriers were sailing along out of reach.

Atlanta was scanning the immediate surroundings for any planes she and her sisters might have missed as the Atlanta and Yamato class sailed next to the multitude of carriers. Yamato and Musashi's extra AA had been a welcome addition as the Operation went on.

The Altered Hellcats had been one thing, catching the fleet off guard. But, being careful and strategic with their movements, the Hellcat's were easily overcome as each wing arrived on the scene.

But the Abyssalized Zeroes were causing a whole new set of problems. For whatever reason, they were faster and more nimble than the Abyssal Hellcats, causing new troubles for their own fighters. And the Atlanta's AA equipment was looking to be right next to useless against these new threats.

"Midway? What's the status of our Air Superiority?" Atlanta asked after a moment, bringing herself to focus on the carrier. Midway nodded as she thought about it a moment before answering the girl.

"Our control is holding for the moment but the Abyssal Zeroes are dragging our progress down..." She answered. Atlanta gave a nod as she began to look away. But as she did so, she saw the figure of something rise up behind Midway. One the light cruiser saw the first signs of the eye haze however, she made her move.

"Midway! Look out!" Atlanta shouted, wheeling her guns about to take aim at the mystery stranger. As Midway turned, looking at the girl, Atlanta heard guns go off.

Time seemed to freeze as blood entered the air, red flying through the air as Midway's body shuddered at the sound. Then, the carrier seemed to stumble backwards as she dropped her bow, instead electing to hold her side as she backed away from what was now identified as a Re-Class battleship.

Yamato and Musashi didn't hesitate to turn their guns on the Abyssal, pumping the girl full of eighteen inch shells a few seconds later.

The Abyssal recoiled from the impacts as Franklin grabbed her older sister's bow before it sank below the waves. Coral elected to approach their eldest sister with a worried expression, her gaze immediately landing on the holes now decorating her eldest sister's side. Midway's eyes were starting to looked dazed as she held a hand over her wounds.

"Midway, are you alright...?" Coral asked after a moment, watching her eldest sister for any signs of trouble. Midway gave a slow nod for a moment before promptly falling forward, straight into Coral's arms. "Midway? Midway!" Coral yelled, bringing herself to a stop as she tried to wake her sister. But when the oldest of the three sisters didn't stir, Coral looked down at her sister in a panicked motion.

The Re-Class, now recovering from the shells that had struck her, turned her attention to the wounded carrier in her sister. Giving the maniacal grin the Re-Class was known for, her tail began to aim at the two. But something happened the Re hadn't been expecting.

That came in the form of a flight deck making contact with the Abyssal's face, flinging her backwards a ways. As she looked back up, she found that Franklin had smacked the battleship across the face with her armored flight deck.

The Re gave a growl in response, instead turning her guns on Franklin. But the Abyssal battleship had made a mistake, that being not using her time wisely.

Because now there were two freshly reloaded Yamato's, putting the dismal touches on their aim.

The Re-Class never even got a chance to fire before an eighteen inch shell tore her head clean off, her body flopping backwards into the water as she began to sink.

Watching the Abyssal sink a moment, Coral turned her attention back to her unresponsive sister. "Midway! You need to wake up!" She insisted, shaking the girl. The carrier didn't respond though, instead only remaining limp in her sister's arms.

"Coral? She still breathing?" Zuikaku called in question. Coral took a moment to look for a pulse, finding one soon after. Giving a nod, Coral looked back at the carrier.

"She's still alive." She replied. Zuikaku gave a nod as she launched another wing of Zeroes.

"Good. That means her fairies are still there then. They should have her up and moving again in no time. Just keep a hold of her until then." She replied. Coral nodded in reply.

Arizona and Maryland pumped a heavy cruiser full of Armor piercing shells as they put an end to the Abyssal. In doing so, Atlanta came over the Radio.

"Arizona, Midway's down. She took a salvo from a Re." Atlanta reported. Arizona traded a glance with Mary before responding, watching in the distance as Atago and Takao went after a couple of extra destroyers.

"Down? As in sunk down?" Arizona asked.

"Negative. She's unconscious. Her fairies are stopping the blood loss but she won't be launching any planes for a while. Coral's got her secure, but they're both out of commission for the moment. And we just had a Re pop out from under us. How's her majesty?" Atlanta asked. Arizona looked over in the distance to where the Abyssal was, safely behind more of her fleet.

"She's still in her Castle. So we're gonna have more walls to knock down before we can get at her." Arizona replied, watching as Nagato and Mutsu began to pick at one of the surrounding battleships, trying to get the Ta-Class to give chase.

"Acknowledged. I'll send you an update In a little while. If I don't, assume another Re popped up..." Atlanta sighed before tuning off her Radio. Arizona shook her head in annoyance as she and Mary began to follow in the Nagato's footsteps, picking at another of the battleship's surrounding the Princess.
