Of Steel And Dogwoods

A/N: So, this announcement is important to those who care. I'm keeping this story going but I'm also as of now working on new chapters for Humanity's Lost Identity as well.

Andromeda kind of had an unexpected effect...
---------------------------------------------

"Wait.... so they're just gonna let us take a tour of the Missouri? Even though it's an active combat vessel?" Ise asked as she looked to Sofia. The Captain nodded at that as they walked on.

"Yeah. To be fair in a sense, so are you and your sister." She answered. "But yes. The Captain of the Missouri is under order to allow the Ship Girls on base to tour the ship if they want. But the Admiral and myself know the Captain as well. She may have quite the bark, but she is usually pretty calm with this kind of thing. Besides, a lot of the Missouri's crew is on shore leave while they restock the ship so we've got the time and space to work with this." She said. The two battleships nodded at this.

"But still.... it's the Missouri. We really are just gonna have free reign of this place to look around?" She asked. Sofia nodded.

"In a sense, yes. The Ship Girls are being given the liberty to take a look around as they see fit. But there's another objective here as well but we'll discuss that later. But it's pretty important so expect it to come up quickly." She answered as they walked on. The two battleships nodded as the three women made their way onto the other half of Yokosuka, the portion of the base that was run by normal JMSDF personnel.

Sofia and the Ise sisters had spent the last twenty minutes rounding up whoever had wanted to tour the Missouri. Which luckily, had included each and every Battleship on base. Notably, Yamato and Musashi had seemed more than interested in what lay within the only battleship to come close to competing with them in a fair fight.

The seven American Battleships had needed no convincing to come and take the tour. Missouri had been the pinnacle of the various upgrades and refits between them. There was little doubt that the seven wanted to see what their youngest cousin had lead to with all of her advancements.

The Kongou sisters had been more than interested in touring the fastest thing on the water at the time. 36 knots? That was unspeakable for most classes. But the Iowa's took it in stride. And they knew it too.

Of course, there were other girls as well interested in the tour. For instance, the destroyers that had befriended Arizona and the other American Battleships such as Yuudachi and Shigure were interested in seeing other battleships of the U.S. Navy.

The point was that there was a pretty large group of Ship Girls curious about the tour, from Submarine to Battleship.

Sofia and the Ise sisters rounded a corner, spotting a rather large group assembled next to the ship. Standing near the group was Anya and Ishigara, talking with one another as they waited for the Captain to show. And as if sensing her presence, the Admiral looked up to spot the woman, waving as Ishigara looked to the woman as well.

"So how many girls actually showed up?" Sofia asked once the three were in range to the two. Anya nodded as she looked over the group.

"Seventy one girls, not including Ise and Hyuga. Even Kaga showed up. If you don't mind my saying, that sort of surprised me." She said, looking to Ishigara. The Admiral nodded as he took another look of his own over the group.

"Had you asked her to do the same months ago, when you two had first arrived on this base, she would not have given you the time of day. But the fact now that she is willing to take a tour of the Ship that our country signed its surrender aboard... well... it's somewhat surreal..." He said. Anya and Sofia nodded their heads to the statement as the Captain took a look over the Ship, giving a low whistle.

"Despite her age, she is quite the beauty despite her old age...." she said, hands on her hips. As if I'm perfect timing, a gust of wind blew by, causing the flags on board to whip around wildly, as if giving thanks for the words. Sofia titled her head ever so slightly at this, twitching her lips upwards before looking back to Anya and Ishigara.

The Admiral nodded at that. "She sure is. Let's go ahead and get the classes that aren't Battleships aboard so we can talk directly to the battleships without everyone knowing what's going on." She said. The other two nodded as the three looked to the group, Sofia taking care of the attention as she sent up a sharp whistle. This quieted most of the ongoing conversation within the midst of the assembled group of Kanmusu excluding a few, quiet ones. After getting them to shut up, the entire group looked to the three Officers.

Anya nodded as Ishigara took the lead, stepping forward to address the group.

"As all of you can see, this is the U.S.S Missouri. Captain Gailer has so graciously allowed us aboard her vessel so that we may take a tour. That means you all are to be respectable and controlled. The Missouri is still an active combat vessel even with the tour so you must remember to respect her crew who are still working. And as a final point, not one I think I need to elaborate for obvious reasons, but please respect Missouri herself. Just like you were all at one point, she is still a Ship. Therefore, whether you are American, Japanese, French, or German, she deserves your respect. She's a relic from the same war you all fought so hard in." He called. The group nodded as Anya looked to the group.

"In a minute, we're going to let you go onboard as soon as Gailer gives the OK. When we do though, I need all the Battleships to hang back for a moment so I can talk to them about something. It's nothing major, but it is worth noting just so we know what's going on. Is that clear?" She asked. She got a consecutive nod in response, the four countries represented watching the woman with attention. Anya nodded at that, accepting it as final. Just in time too, as Gailer leaned over the railing.

"Having fun down there, Johnson?!" She called, looking down upon the group. Anya chuckled somewhat as she looked up to the woman.

"More or less. You ready for us?" She called back. Gailer nodded.

"That we are. Go ahead and send who you want up first." She called. Anya nodded as Ishigara and Sofia gestured to the group, having anyone who wasn't a battleship to follow them. The group nodded, the destroyers, cruisers, and carriers following the two officers up the ramp. This left Anya with the entire battleship population of Yokosuka in front of her. Watching the others fully step onto the ship, some more enthusiastically than others, Anya looked to the last group.

"Okay. So none of you are going by this unnoticed. I'm assuming at least a few of you must have sort of idea of what we're trying to accomplish here." She said. Musashi was the first to confirm it, nodding to the woman.

"Im only making a guess, but I'm assuming that this has something to do with someway to finally summon Missouri. And if possible, summon her three sisters as well." She answered. Anya nodded at the statement, looking between the girls.

"Exactly. There's not much solid evidence of anything on the theory. But the idea is that Missouri's soul would require energy to split itself from her hull so that she could come through. But she requires the same energy that has to do with a Kanmusu coming through." She said. Nagato nodded at that, seeing where she was going with this.

"So the idea behind the tour was a low risk way to see if she could siphon energy from us ship girls, specifically us Battleships." She said. Anya nodded.

"We were hoping you ladies would be the most interested so that if any siphoning of energy did occur, the smaller girl's wouldn't be affected. I can't see the Gleaves class lasting very long to losing enough energy to fuel a battleship." She answered. Arizona nodded.

"So what if we can tell that she is draining energy from us?" She asked. Anya nodded.

"Let either myself, Captain Algerona, or Admiral Ishigara know. Do not mistake our intentions. As much as having Missouri on base would help, your ladies's safeties comes first. If you feel anything going past a safe level, get off the Ship immediately. We'll just have to do this in short bursts if it becomes too dangerous for you ladies to handle in one go. The idea is though that that won't happen because there's so many of you." She answered. Maryland nodded.

"What if this whole thing actually works, and she can siphon energy. What if she doesn't pull from the Japanese, German, and French girls? What if she only pulls from the seven of us battleships that are American?" She asked. Anya nodded.

"Then going off the case that this whole thing actually works, you have to be that more alert of what is going on. If that is the case though, we can also assign you in pairs of two as well. So that way, we have someone keeping eyes on you at all times. And if anything else, let the crew know what's going on. They're not going to just ignore you if you're clearly having a problem." She said. The battleships nodded at that as Tirptiz looked up to the Ship.

"So what areas if any are off limits to us? Or do we just have free reign of the place?" She asked. Anya nodded.

"I don't have the answer to that. That'll be up to Gailer to decide if she wants. If not, then yeah, pretty much free reign of the place as long as you aren't getting in the way of her crew." She said. The battleships nodded at that as Anya gestured to the ramp. "Shall we then?" She asked. Some of the battleships such as Tirptiz and Musashi spared no time, immediately ascending the ramp followed by the others. Anya chuckled as she brought up the rear of the group, following the load of Battleships on board the Missouri.

As Anya stepped onto the deck, the battleships dispersed across the ship, vanishing along the sides and into the various doorways of the Missouri. This left Anya open to approach by Captain Gailer, the woman offering a small wave as she did so.

"You've come quite the long way since we were in the Acadmey together. Being appointed acting Admiral of the American Ship Girls? Impressive." She said. Anya chuckled as she nodded to the woman.

"And what about you? You're the Captain of the Missouri. Five years ago, it was thought that the Missouri would never have another acting Captain. That's pretty impressive as well." She answered. Gailer nodded at that as the two women watched the last of the Ship Girls go either along the deck or within batches.

"Fair point." She answered before looking to Anya. "So did your girl's brief you on exactly what happened with the way over here?" She asked. Anya nodded.

"I haven't gotten a full debrief, but they went through a basic rundown of what exactly had happened. Including the issues that struck the Missouri. That's not a good thing to have when Abyssal.... Warships pop up next to you." She answered. "There was really a Nagato copy?" She asked for confirmation. Gailer nodded.

"Mutsu too boot. Plus a couple of others as well." She answered.

"And you making the order to fire on them?" She asked. Gailer rolled her eyes as she gave a small chuckle.

"Looking at the move now, it was maybe not the best move. But at the time, I was focusing on my crew. And I was only planning to fire on the one ship. That was before the others popped up." She stated. "Once they showed up, even if I had wanted to fire, the problems with the Missouri started." She answered. Anya nodded.

"This complicates things with what we know of the Abyssals. If there is a branch or splinter cell of Abyssals that are friendly towards humanity, we are gonna have issues." She answered. Gailer shook her head.

"No. We aren't. We still kill them like the rest of their kind. At this point, the Abyssals don't have say in anything. We see them, we shoot them. That's how it is." She said, looking at the Admiral. Anya shook her head.

"If there's a chance that we can work together with them to stop this was before anymore serious problems arise, I say we take it!" She replied. Gailer shook her head.

"The day they razed New York forfeited all right they had to a decent response from us. As far I am concerned, they can either go back to the depths on their own, or we can send them back with a bullet in their chest." She said, looking to the Admiral.

"But we know nothing about them. We don't know that all Abyssals could be willing to kill us. For all we know, they may be in a position where they're forced to do so lest they meet the hands of something far worse." She replied. Gailer only rolled her eyes as she looked at the woman.

"Ohh poor them. They still razed New York to the ground. Burned San Francisco to the foundation. In my opinion, they deserve death. Each and every one of them." She stated.

"And if they have children?" Anya asked. Gailer shook her head.

"Don't change the subject." She replied Cooley. But before either Officer could say something further, someone behind them cleared their throat. Anya blinked before realizing who it was.

"Mary?" She asked, turning to look at the battleship. The sheepish expression given in return as the Admiral settled view on the two was all she needed to know as Arizona spoke.

"Maryland and myself figured it best if we were to stick close to you. But if you and The Captain wish to continue your discussion in privacy..." she trailed off. Anya shook her head as she looked to the two.

"No. You ladies are fine as you are. Gailer and I were just having our usual bout. We've never seen eye to eye on anything really.... it's a... refreshing take on things." Anya answered.

"Ever since the Academy." Gailer said. "You, Algerona, I, and Samthon." She said in somewhat of a still riled up tone. Anya nodded as the two battleships arched a brow.

"So you all attended together?" Arizona asked. Anya nodded.

"Roommates." Came the response.

"And Samthon? Is she in charge of a ship too?" Maryland asked. Anya and Gailer shook their heads.

"Went down aboard a carrier three months after the War started. Didn't even have a chance to react before the side of the ship's hull ate 23 Abyssal torpedoes. Didn't even get a single shot at the bastards." Gailer answered. Anya nodded.

"Went down with all hands to boot. Morale sunk after that. Not just for us either. Britain. France. Germany. Japan. The most powerful line of carriers had just lost a full member." Anya added as she crossed her arms, looking to the two.

"That was what made the Navy realize we needed more heavy hitters. Brawlers that laughed at incoming fire. You're standing on the result of that decision." Gailer said. The two battleships nodded, still processing somewhat what they had just been told.

"So we got the first waves I take it?" Arizona asked. "The United States I mean?" Anya nodded.

"They hit New York and San Francisco at the exact same time with the same force. Hit our Naval forces stationed first and then went to work tearing up the rest of the city. Didn't have any one close enough to try and assist so they kept at it uninterrupted. Turned what had been two of the most populous cities in the country into to areas of confusion, hurt, and fear. Because the Abyssals vanished without a trace until a week later." The American admiral said. The two battleships nodded at that.

"And pulling the Iowa's and Alabama back into service?" Maryland asked.

"That depends on who you ask. Some say because it was required. Because if we brought back the class that saw us through the next 50 years after World War 2, we'd be fine. Others say that we did it to show that we weren't out of the fight. That the Abyssals had done nothing but stirred the Giant once again. But either way, we couldn't just sit this one out." Gailer answered. Anya nodded.

"Though, to be fair, we didn't have any real hope until two years later, when the fleet in San Francisco witnessed a fleet of Abyssals sent to the bottom with the best precision I've ever seen." Anya answered. Arizona nodded.

"I forgot that you were present when the Japanese Ship Girls were revealed to the world... it's odd to think that if they hadn't, you wouldn't be our Admiral..." Arizona said. Maryland nodded.

"And we certainly can't have that now can we..." Maryland mused, leaning on Anya somewhat. The Admiral only chuckled as she noticed Gailer's quiet eye observing the two. Arching a brow at the action, Anya merely chuckled as she gestured to the battleship.

"Captain Gailer, this is Maryland. I've seen to somehow won her affection through just being her Admiral. I assure you, there is nothing going on between the two of us." She answered.

"You mean... not yet..." Maryland mused, keeping hold of her Admiral. Anya only chuckled somewhat as she shook her head at the statement.

"Anyways. Yes, this is Captain Lindsey Gailer. Gailer, this is Arizona and Maryland. They're both waiting anxiously for their sisters to be summoned." She said.

Gailer nodded. "Won't Maryland have an easier time of that because of the fact that she has more sisters than Arizona?" She asked.

"Not if the Gateway doesn't want to play nice. It all depends on what that thing wants to do." Maryland replied. "If it doesn't think we need another battleship on base, we don't get one of our sisters." She said. Gailer nodded at that.

"Still strange to think that eighty years ago, the two of you were entire Warships. Quite the thing to consider when talking to any of you ladies." She answered. The two battleships nodded at that as Anya looked to Gailer.

"So how about we head up to the bridge and take a look at what you get to see every day." She suggested. Gailer nodded as she gestured for the three to follow before turning to go.

As they began to follow the woman, laughter behind Anya caught her attention. A woman's voice easy to tell. Turning, Anya figured it to be one of the other girls. Except when she turned to confront them, she found no one there.

"Admiral...?" Maryland asked, having noticed the woman stopped walking. Anya shook her head in return.

"It was nothing. I need to catch up on sleep." She answered in response. Arizona only rolled her eyes.

"You mean you're actually considering my suggestion I hand you every other day? This really is a different world." She answered, looking back to the Admiral.

"Shush up you. I'm still in the midst of considering your room change so I don't want to hear the attitude." She said, letting the threat hang. Though a threat it was, the somewhat amused expression on her features told Arizona nothing would come from it. Especially since she was hoping that the rooming change would go through.

"Rooming change? Whaaat? Arizona, you're leaving?" Maryland asked. Arizona shook her head as she looked to the battleship as they once again got underway to the bridge, following Gailer.

"It does not concern you Mary. And I would appreciate not a word of it going to anyone else, American or Japanese." She answered. Maryland nodded at that, the two battleships allowing Anya to take the lead in front of them as they went on their way.
--------------------------------------------

"Shimakaze! Slow down!" Indiana yelled as she and a few of the Ship Girls walked through the Ship. "This is not the place to be going full flank. You're going to run into someone. Chances are, they'll be a crew member of the Missouri. And they won't fare to well after being run into a wall at full force!" She said as they made way after the destroyer.

Shimakaze ignored them in turn, still going full pace. She would go full speed if she damn well wanted and nobody was going to tell her otherwise.

All the way until the hatch she was fixing to cross through slammed shut just before she got there, sending the destroyer to the ground as her face slid down the metal.

"Owwwwwww...." the destroyer groaned as she slowly slid down. Indiana and her group consisting of Fubuki, the Sendai's, Yuudachi, Mutsuki, and Kisaragi finally reached the blonde. Sighing, Indiana hauled the girl off of the floor with one hand.

"You alright...?" Indiana asked. Shimakaze took a moment before nodding to the woman.

That's when it started. That's when the first began to fall.

Shimakaze took a moment to orient herself before she held the grip of Indiana's quickly loosening. Blinking, she looked at the battleship, who was now starting to sway somewhat. This wasn't lost on the other Ship Girls present.

"Indiana-San...?" Mutsuki asked somewhat cautiously, looking up at the woman. The three light cruisers present, Jintsuu and Sendai to be sure, had begun to form a perimeter around the woman. Something told them that the battleship was going down. And when she did, they needed to be ready.

Indiana so wanted to answer the request. To assure the destroyer that she was alright. But her voice had become dry and her mind had become clouded. Every time she tried to respond, her words became jumbled. All she could focus on was the woman standing at the other end of the hall.

Then her vision went dark and she went down. Her last thought before everything went black was of the cruiser's trying to prevent her from crashing to the ground.
--------------------------------------------

North Carolina, Washington, and Oklahoma listened to the engineer with vapid interest. They were currently with their group, consisting of Lexington, Saratoga, Hoel, Yancey, Akashi, and Dionysus. The man in front of them was currently explaining the differences and changes that had been made to the Missouri's guns since her re-entry into service.

It was then when the sailor showing them around stopped, focusing on Oklahoma. "Are you alright miss?" He asked.

This brought the other's attention to Oklahoma, who was now swaying, holding her head as if she had a headache. Still swaying, she tried to rid of herself of the confusion before she went down. North and Wash went to help before they began to feel it as well, soon following in the first's footsteps.

The Ship Girls present went about trying to wake them, a few nearby sailors doing so as well, as the sailor ran to get help.
--------------------------------------------

"What a view..." Anya whistled as she and the other three stood on bridge. Anya was gazing out the window, seeing just how well of a view Gailer had of the bow. "I've been on ships before but a battleship...." she trailed off as Gailer nodded.

"It's different. It's usually a flight deck or the standard five incher. Not triple mounted sixteen inchers. It was quite the wake up call when I received this posting, even more so when we fired them for the first time." Gailer said. Anya nodded.

"I can imagine so. I can only imagine what the recoil felt like. So, how's a eighty-some odd year old ship run these days?" Anya asked.

"Like a dream. The only issues we've had was on the way over here." The Captain answered. Anya nodded.

"Heard about that. Someone took the bridge, yes?" She asked. Gailer nodded, somewhat annoyed.

"I'll be you ten bucks if everything works out like it should, the woman that took the bridge from us will end up under your command. Missouri can be a real handful when she wants to be." The Captain huffed. Anya only chuckled somewhat as she nodded at the woman's statement.

"Battleships in general can be a handful. Give someone the biggest guns and you're asking for trouble... I know from experience..." Anya explained. The gazes that were now burning holes in her back did not go by her unnoticed but she ignored them for the moment.

"Yeah, well Admirals can be hard to handle as well. Bull headed, refuse to listen to helpful opinions, stays up until all hours of the night... sound familiar Mary?" Arizona asked from behind. Maryland placed a fake expression of surprise as she looked at her fellow battleship.

"What....? No! Tell me more?" Maryland asked. Arizona gave an exaggerated nod as she made it a point to count the reasons off her fingers. Anya shook her head, tuning the two out as she focused back on Gailer.

"I take it back. Your ship girls are bigger handfuls than the Missouri could ever hope to be..." Gailer admitted. Anya nodded.

"Destroyer to battleship. Doesn't matter the class. Trouble runs in the veins. They come out of that gateway, you're gonna have a headache at least once a week." She mused. Gailer nodded, smiling in amusement somewhat. Fixing to say something, she was stopped as one of the other sailors on the bridge pointed to the bow. Arching brows, the two women glanced down at the indicated sight.

There were two bodies on the floor, passed out it would seem. Then, almost a second after, Anya recognized the outfits.

Nagato and Mutsu.

"Shit..." Anya cursed as she immediately turned and made for the door. But she stopped when she laid eyes on Arizona and Maryland.

Arizona had already collapsed and Maryland was about to go down.

Before the Admiral knew exactly what had happened, she was next to the battleship, allowing the woman to put a decent amount of her weight on the woman as she slowly slipped from consciousness. Anya and Gailer eased her to the floor in a careful motion before Gailer went to sitting Arizona up so that she wouldn't get stepped on should someone rush in.

But instead of rushing in, the ship's coms went up in a flurry.

"Captain, we've got downed down here. Three of the Ship Girls collapsed. Their friends are confirming they're all battleship class..." came the report. The next voice was from Enterprise.

"Admiral! Yamato, Musashi, and the Kongou sisters just went down hard. We're trying to wake them, but it's not giving. What's going on?" She asked. Enterprise had the usual sense to remain calm in most situations. But Anya had know the woman for a while. Six battleships just fainting in front of you would be a worrying sight. And although she was doing a good job of hiding it, Anya knew it was worrying the carrier.

Looking to Gailer, she took no time in trying to find a solution. "How big is your med Bay?" She asked. Gailer nodded.

"As long as it's not over 25 going down, they can make room down there." She said before tapping on a coms panel. "This is Captain Gailer. If any of you should see a downed Ship girl on board, please assist them towards the Med Bay." She said before pausing, looking to Anya for a number. Nodding as she received one, she went back to the coms. "There will be about 19 in all. That is all." She answered as she watched a group of sailors run to the bow, the four helping Nagato and Mutsu inside. Seeing this was taken care of, Gailer sighed as she looked to Anya who was now helping one of the sailors nearby hoist Maryland to her feet. Trying to keep an out cold battleship upright was not easy. "Were you expecting this...?" Gailer asked as the sailor, with the help of another, slowly made their way towards the Med Bay with Maryland.

Anya shook her head. "No... we told them to head off the ship if they began to feel any negative effects... based on how fast Arizona and Mary went down, I'm guessing they didn't even get the option..." she sighed as she leaned against the doorframe for a moment. Gailer nodded.

"Well don't stay on my account. Go see if they're alright and let me know how it turns out." She said. Anya nodded as she made her way from the bridge down to medical.

She figured Ishigara, Sofia, and the rest of the fleet on board would be near there as well so she didn't bother looking for them as she made her way there.

She figured she was in the right place when she found a group of Ship Girls crowded in the hallway, peering into a room. Sighing to herself, she made her way towards the room, drawing the attention of the girl's.

"Are they gonna be alright, Anya-San?" Fubuki asked as she neared. Anya nodded.

"They just need some rest. After that, they'll be alright. If you girls could let me through, that'd be helpful too." She said. The girl's in the door nodded, splitting off so that Anya could actually get inside. Far less cramped than she had assumed. Where she had expected the rest of the fleet to be inside, this was not the case. Only three other conscious people besides herself were inside. Sofia, Ishigara, and the Missouri's doctor.

Sofia and Ishigara were taking amongst themselves as the Doctor made the rounds. She couldn't do much more than make sure they weren't dying though. Anya shook her head as she approached Sofia and Ishigara.

"It acted faster than even they could have guessed... at least they're ok for the most part." Ishigara said. Sofia nodded.

"Doesn't mean anything if Missouri doesn't take. What's the word, Admiral?" Sofia asked, looking to Anya. The blonde woman nodded, looking to her ring, somewhat expecting it to be the same usual dark blue. She somewhat expected this whole thing to be a pipe dream.

But as she looked to her ring, someone was taking the bait. Because the ring was glowing the light blue that signaled Yokosuka was about to receive yet another very important person.
--------------------------------------------

"So you do this for every single one that comes through this thing?" Gailer as she and Anya made way for the summoning gateway. The Admiral nodded a short response to the woman.

With the battleships being out cold for the moment, Sofia and Ishigara had elected to stay behind to make sure they were alright. This in turn had left Anya to go greet whoever was coming through. Although since she had suspicions of who exactly it would be, she had invited Gailer to join her.

"So... you've done this... what, 39 times?" Gailer asked. Anya shook her head as she looked to the woman.

"Not over five. Our girls didn't follow in their Japanese counterparts footsteps. Instead, they can in groups of seven, twenty one, four, and three. This will be the fifth time we've gone to retrieve American Ship Girls as opposed to Ishigara's total of sixty one." She answered. Gailer seemed surprised at this as they entered the summoning hall as the girl's had so evidently dubbed it.

Stepping inside, Anya heard the quiet and hastily muffled breath of surprise that had been drawn from the Captain. Stifling a small laugh at the unordinary expression from the woman, the Admiral settled her sights on the gateway and the woman she knew was on her way.

Exactly ten minutes of silence later, ten minutes of absolute quiet, the telltale noise began to occur. Gailer didn't dare make a sound, only instead watching as the Admiral stepped forward.

And in turn, the silhouette formed in the distant fog. Gailer only watched in surprise, but Anya remained unmoving. She was more than ready to greet the woman that was headed towards them.

Eventually, the tell tale signs of an American Ship Girl became apparent. Not just that, but the tell tale signs of an American Battleship. The Navy Blue uniform did nothing but help accentuate the long legs the woman was sporting.

The curves, easy to see as she drew closer. Anya only watched in silence as the figure broke from the fog, giving the Admiral a more preferred line of sight. But as she did so, two more silhouettes began to appear behind the first.

Unsurprised at this, Anya kept an eye on the first to appear while also keeping checks on the second and third. Shaking the possibility that others of the Iowa class could have split from their hulls, Anya and Gailer waited in silence.

A few minutes later, the two women watched as the three stepped onto the floor, landing on solid ground. Anya knew that one of them, if this idea had worked, would be the second form of the Missouri. But she hadn't a clue of who the other two were.

Giving them a moment to get the feel of solid ground underneath their feet, Anya approached the three. Gailer however didn't move, only watching from the side.

"How was the trip over?" Anya asked, looking between the three. The one to the right shrugged, hand on a hip.

"Could've have been better... maybe some food...." she huffed. The one to the left giggled, an odd thing considering her physical maturity.

"Ehh, it wasn't that bad." She mused as she looked to the one across from her. "You just whine too much." She replied. The first one to speak only rolled her eyes, crossing her arms as she did so. That was before arms went up, the woman in the middle silencing the two. Trading a glance between the two, they seemed to wither under her stare before the middle woman looked to Anya, nodding to her.

"You no doubt already know who I am, Admiral. I'm willing to bet that you do." She said. Anya nodded.

"Battleship sixty three. The current U.S.S. Missouri?" She asked. The battleship nodded in response at that, giving a small smile at that.

Missouri was tall, easily the tallest battleship on base. Standing at a steady 6'6, she dominated her Admiral in terms of height. Long brown hair fell down to her mid back, flowing in a pretty much straight line. Not only that, but it seemed to shine ever so slightly. Her eyes seemed to be made out of pure chocolate, the battleship's gaze locked onto the shorter woman. Anya stared right back as she watched the woman.

Missouri looked to be 26 if a guess was to be had. Of course, the admiral knew she was far older than that, but she wasn't about to be rude.

"Hey! Stop eyeballing our sister, ya creep!" Called the one to the right once again. Anya looked to the woman, arching a brow before looking back to Missouri.

"We didn't.... go for your sisters..." Anya said, still trying to figure everything out. Missouri nodded.

"My youngest sisters insist they come along." Came the response. And suddenly everything made sense.

The American Admiral looked back to the one to the right, watching the expression turn from indignation to an amused smirk. Nodding, she stepped up to the woman.

"So.... Chicago or Lexington?" She asked. The battleship narrowed her eyes at the woman before rolling her eyes.

"Battleship sixty six. Would have been the U.S.S. Kentucky." She said, watching the Admiral with what seemed to be a sense of distaste. Anya only nodded at that.

Like her older sister, Kentucky was taller than most. But unlike Missouri, Kentucky had fiery red hair, maybe even more so than Atlanta. Looking only somewhat younger than Missouri, her green eyes watched Anya carefully, as if cautious of her every move. This wasn't lost on Anya.

"Have I done something to irk you, Kentucky?" The Admiral asked. Kentucky only shot the woman a glare before lifting it to her older sister. Missouri did not relent under the gaze, watching her right back. This continued for a tense few moments before Kentucky rolled her eyes, breaking eye contact with her older sister. Missouri didn't look thrilled at the prospect however, watching her youngest sister with a saddened expression.

Keying into this, Anya pushed it aside for the moment as she looked to the other of the three.

"Well... if she's Kentucky, then I'm going to assume you're the second youngest of the Iowa bunch... Illinois maybe?" She asked. The battleship only nodded at that with another small giggle despite the woman's stature.

"Yes, I am Battleship sixty five. The U.S.S Illinois." She said.

"Would have been you mean..." Kentucky grumbled. It was a short comment, but it appeared to have decent effect on the battleship in front of her as Illinois looked to Anya with worried eyes.

"You're not gonna.... send me back, right...?" She asked. The Admiral shook her head.

"No. You're gonna stay with your sisters." She answered. "And Kentucky is going to as well..." she said, giving a sideways glance to the battleship. Illinois squealed in response as the battleship glomped onto Missouri, the oldest of the three only chuckled as she patted her sister on the back.

"Thank you." Missouri mouthed to Anya as she glared at Kentucky. The battleship huffed as she shook her head, standing off to the side in her own little torrent of grump. Chuckling somewhat, Anya gestured to Gailer.

"Captain, there's someone you should come meet..." she said. Gailer nodded somewhat, closing in on the battleship as Illinois still held firm to her older sister.

Anya chuckled as she watched the former ship and Captain greet one another while one tried to support both herself and the other from collapsing to the ground. As she did so though, she heard a faint whisper.

Turning her head to the noise, she found a fourth silhouette within the gateway. But as she looked to the form, waiting for it to come through, it vanished, whoever had been there retreating away from crossing over.

Arching a brow, she turned back to the two conversing, the silhouette still on her mind.
