Getting The Seven Settled In

Anya and Sofia lead the group of seven American Ship Girls back towards their part of Yokosuka. Their group and Ishigara's group had split ways after the summoning, Ishigara having things he needed to take care of, no doubt one of those things would be trying to calm down Nagato after her encounter with Arizona.

It hadn't helped much as the two groups were leaving, Arizona called "Nice Stern" over to the usually calm battleship. Poor Nagato. Bet she hadn't been expecting something like that to happen. Her face certainly wasn't handling it well. Anya was pretty sure she'd never seen someone blush that hard in her life.

The American Admiral couldn't worry about that though. She had things to do. First, get records on file for these girls. After, they were to be measured for uniforms, a task that Ishigara had said he would send people to assist with. Which most likely meant she would be meeting more of the Japanese Ship girls. While they were doing that, she had been told to go hunt down a woman by the name of Liz at the Mess Hall. Ishigara had said she could handle food for the girls.

Anya took a look back at the seven, watching them interact with each other. Even though they were all American ships, they had split off into groups. Enterprise, Langley, and Lexington were off to one side, talking quite animatedly with one another. Well, Enterprise and Lexington were anyways. Langley was merely smiling and threw in her own words as she needed to. Sort of like a mother listening to her young.

The Admiral then looked back to the other group of four. Arizona had Bristol on her shoulders as the two conversed with Atlanta and Ellyson. Anya wasn't surprised about the division though.

You really couldn't compare a Carrier to something like a Cruiser or Battleship. A Battleship could take a hit and hit right back. A Cruiser had mobility higher than most. That wasn't always the case with a Carrier. You protected them. You had to protect them. But in return, the Carrier thanked you by turning the enemy into little more than scrap and burning metal with waves and waves of planes. So the division didn't surprise Anya that much.

"So what's the plan, Admiral?" Enterprise asked after a moment, turning her attention away from her conversation with Lexington. Anya looked back at her, running a hand through her hair.

"Well right now, we're heading back towards the American HQ building to start files on you girls." Anya answered as the continued to walk towards the building. "After that, you girls will be measured for uniforms and the like. While you girls are getting that done, I'll be making sure there'll be breakfast for you girls." She explained. Arizona was the first to have a question.

"Wait... We have an HQ building on a Jap base?" The battleship asked. Anya gave a nod.

"Yes, we do. It was built for this very reason, to play host to you girls. And Arizona, I know what they referred to the Japanese as back then. But for right now, please try to not say that around the Japanese Ship Girls. No need to start something if we can avoid it... But yes, we have an HQ. As will the Royal Navy and the Deutsche Marine." She answered. Bristol suddenly seemed more interested.

"The British are coming? With their own ship girls? And who are the Deu- Duest- what you said." She asked excitedly. Arizona had to hold onto the girl to keep her from falling off her shoulders. Anya gave a nod in response.

"There's no set date for their official arrival on base. And the Deutsche Marine is what the German Navy is known as today. I imagine you knew them as the Kriegsmarine back then...." Anya answered the destroyer. She could almost feel the girl suddenly become rather calm at the mention of the German Navy. Not like she had reacted when it came to the British.

"That's not gonna be a problem, is it Bristol?" Sofia asked, looking back at the destroyer on Arizona's shoulders. The small destroyer shrugged. The Captain gave a sigh in response. Anya chuckled at her friends expense.

"Let's push that aside right now. Like I said, no one knows for sure when they'll send someone out here. That goes for the Royal Navy as well. So for right now, just count on it being you girls and those of the Japanese. Anyways, we're coming up on the HQ now." Anya said as they rounded the corner, letting the girls get a look at the HQ. It wasn't long before she received another question.

"What are those buildings behind the HQ?" Langley asked, looking at the buildings that were clearly visible over the HQ's roof.

"Sleeping quarters. That's where you girls will be sleeping. Haven't actually taken a look inside so I'm not really sure what to expect." Anya explained. Atlanta looked at them, as if questioning their authenticity.

"What if they're just plain terrible?" The light cruiser asked. Anya simply laughed.

"Do you really think Japan would just accept to have you girls without preparing? Atlanta, I know you don't fully accept it, but things have changed since the war.... Just give it time." Anya stated as she and Sofia lead the group of seven into the building.

Arizona pulled Bristol from her shoulders and placed her on the ground as the group neared the front door to the HQ. Without hesitation, Anya opened the front door, leading the group inside.

It was easy to tell that the girls were looking around at the entry room to the building, since Bristol could be heard making "ooooo's" over and over. Smiling to herself, Anya headed for her and Sofia's office, wanting to get the files out of the way as soon as possible. If the last couple of years had taught her anything, paperwork was a menace.

As she opened the door, the typing of a keyboard became apparent to her. She fully opened the door, immediately followed by Sofia, as the two entered the room.

"Alright... Let's see. It seems to be running alright... Might as well run another scan just to make sure everything's working properly...." A voice stated. As Anya looked over, there sitting at her desk, was a girl, typing furiously at the keyboard. Her hair was tied up into a ponytail, held up by a green bow. Anya and Sofia traded a glance before turning their attention back to the girl, standing there silently.

They stood quietly, both amused and curious, at the girl's presence. Eventually, the ship girls began to trickle into the room, but not before being silenced by the two women. Although a little noisy, mainly Bristol and Lexington, the girl hadn't seemed to notice. Anya wondered if the girl even knew they were there to begin with.

They stood watching the girl for about ten minutes before Anya finally looked over to Bristol. Pointing at the girl and giving a few hand motions, the Gleaves class girl finally got the message. Wandering over to the Admiral's desk, Bristol peered up at the mystery girl. But even with Bristol right up at the desk, the girl hadn't seemed to take notice. Before Anya could question further, Bristol turned to her Admiral.

"Admiral, she has some weird things in her ears...." Bristol informed her. Anya looked confused for a moment before turning her attention back to the girl, namely her ears. And sure enough, she could make out the shape of earbuds, presumably plugged into a source of music. Anya smacked her forehead with her hand as Sofia laughed. After regaining her composure, Anya looked back to Bristol.

"Pull them from her ears, please. Carefully though." Anya instructed. Bristol gave a nod before wandering around the desk, yet to be noticed by the girl, and approached the girl from behind. Grasping the left earbud cord, Bristol gave a yank, freeing the object from the girl's ear. Confused, the girl spun around in the desk chair to face Bristol. Almost taken by surprise at the younger girl's appearance, the stranger put on a kind face.

"Well hello there, sweetie. Where did you come from?" She questioned, leaning towards Bristol. The latter in turn, responded to the question. Honestly if Anya had to put it.

"New Jersey." Bristol responded. This seemed to catch the girl off guard for a second before she regained her composure.

"New Jersey, huh? That's... A northern state right? I think? Anyways, are you here by yourself?" She asked Bristol. Bristol shook her head.

"I'm here with My Admiral!" Bristol responded with a grin as she threw her hands in the air. The girl once again seemed caught off guard.

"Your Admiral....." She trailed off as if just registering the new presence in the room with her. Bristol broke out into a giggle fit as the girl slowly, almost terrified, turned her head towards Anya and the others. It was at this point that a few of the girls joined Bristol in her giggle fit, Anya included. After she had her laugh reigned in, Anya approached the girl, the others staying near the door.

"Well hello there.... May I inquire to what you are doing at my desk? And where did the computer come from? I don't seem to recall bringing one with me...." Anya questioned, both hands on the desk as she leaned over the girl. The stranger rubbed the back of her head, a sheepish expression forming on her features as she stared back up at the American Admiral.

"I am at your desk to install your computer.... And the computer came from Admiral. Said it might make things easier for you once you get a full sized fleet on base...." She explained. Anya nodded as she listened to the girl's explanation.

"I see.... And you are?" Anya asked. The girl gave a smile, holding her hand out for a handshake.

"The name is Yuubari. Nice to meet you, Admiral. I'm in charge of upkeep on our ship guns. Guess you could call me the base mechanic..." The girl responded. Anya recognized the name immediately, this being the person her bruise was actually meant for. Anya accepted the handshake as Bristol let out a noise of objection.

"She's not your Admiral! She's my Admiral! You big meany!" Bristol interjected. Yuubari's face showed a mask of confusion for a moment before it finally clicked, having had just passed over it the first time Bristol had mentioned it. She looked at Bristol with wide eyes, taking a few steps back.

"You're... You're a Kanmusu... It actually worked...." She slowly pieced together. That's when she took a look at the other occupants of the room, looking more and more stressed by the moment. It looked as if Yuubari was about ready to completely collapse in on herself with each passing second from the sudden realization. Anya took the chance and carefully lead the girl back to her desk chair as Lexington let out a dry laugh.

"Did we break her?" The carrier asked, watching along with the others as the light cruiser had a panic attack. Anya sent the carrier a glare before she turned her attention back to Yuubari.

"Breathe, Yuubari. Just breathe. In and out, nice and slow." Anya instructed a few times, eventually getting the girl to follow what she was saying. As Anya made sure Yuubari was ok, Langley approached Sofia.

"Captain, is she going to be alright?" The motherly carrier asked, watching as her Admiral cared for the Japanese ship girl. Sofia nodded.

"I would say yes. She probably just got overwhelmed at the fact that we already summoned you girls." Sofia informed Langley. Langley looked confused at the info, as did the other Ship girls. Atlanta voiced her confusion.

"Wait.... Already? What do you mean?" The cruiser asked. Sofia nodded.

"We only arrived on base yesterday. We haven't even been on base for twenty four hours. And yet, here we are, seven freshly summoned American Ship Girls standing here." Sofia explained. Anya nodded as she continued to keep an eye on Yuubari.

"Mhm. And I've talked to some of the girls here. They weren't expecting us to try and summon so soon. Most were expecting us to wait at least a week before trying the first summoning. That combined with the fact that when the Japanese made their first summoning, it only resulted in one Ship Girl. We got the seven of you. So not only is your arrival more than a surprise, it's also your numbers that you arrived in." Anya explained. Enterprise gave a nod in understanding.

"Ok.... Well even then, you'd think it wouldn't be that big of a shock... I mean, we had a lot of ships back then. Is it really a surprise that we would arrive in a group instead of individually?" Enterprise asked. Anya thought about it for a moment.

"I mean, when you put it like that, it makes a lot more sense. But we weren't even sure if it would work in the first place, since that gateway had only been used to bring through Japanese Ship Girls until today." Anya reasoned. Enterprise nodded in understanding as Lexington spoke up.

"So... Uhh, I don't mean to sound negative or anything, but we don't have anything to fight the Abyssals with.... I mean, like I've got no planes...." She stated, the other girls nodding as well. Anya nodded.

"We're well aware. There's a couple of foundries back in the States waiting for their first assignment. They're working closely with the team that built the Japanese ship weapons so they'll have a pretty good idea of what they're doing. I'll let them know later today and you should have your riggings in the next few days." Anya explained. She then looked over at Ellyson. "You've been rather quiet, Ellyson. You alright?" She asked. The destroyer slowly nodded.

"I- I'm fine A- admiral.... It's j- just that this I- is a lot to adjust to...." The destroyer said. Anya gave a nod in response.

"That I don't doubt. But don't think I'm just gonna let you handle it alone. If you have any questions, don't be afraid to ask me or the Captain. Got that?" She responded. Ellyson gave a small nod.

"Y- yes Admiral...." Ellyson responded, a bit timidly. But this time, a small thankful smile graced the curves of her mouth. Seeing that the Destroyer's nerves were calmed for the moment, she turned her attention back to the Japanese cruiser.

"You ok now...?" Anya asked, putting a hand on the girl's shoulder. Yuubari gave a slow nod, her breathing becoming steady and even once again.

"Yeah.. I think so... Wow... There's a lot of you..." Yuubari stated slowly, taking another look around the room. But unlike her first glance, this gaze had more of a curious nature behind it. But as she did so, Anya gave her a pat on the back.

"If you wouldn't mind, Yuubari, I need my seat now...." Anya explained. Yuubari got up without hesitation, giving a nod as she did so.

"Of course.... Well... I'll be going now if you don't mind." Yuubari stated. Before she could however, Anya called out to her.

"Yuubari, is there anything you've done in the past few days that could warrant Tenryuu flipping you over her shoulder...?" Anya asked the Light Cruiser. Yuubari furrowed her brow in thought, considering the question. Suddenly, her face showed a look of surprise. Before Anya could question further, Yuubari bolted out the door. The ship girls merely looked at each other, Lexington giving a huff.

"Wow... Such respect she has. You asked her a question and she had the nerve to ignore it...." The carrier responded, crossing her arms as she stared at the door. Before Anya could respond however, Bristol looked up at her.

"Why did she call you Admiral? You're not her Admiral, you're our Admiral. Right?" The destroyer asked, looking to be on the verge of total confusion. Anya gave a laugh in response as she nodded.

"Yes, I'm your Admiral. But don't be surprised if some of their girls call me Admiral. It's just easier for them. It doesn't seem wrong as if they were calling me by my name. And Lexington, I wouldn't worry about that too much." Anya explained as she began to tap at the key board, quickly getting what she needed pulled up. Bristol and Ellyson watched their Admiral work with curiosity. Meanwhile, the other girls had started smaller conversations of their own. Sofia merely helped Anya when she required it.

Everything seemed like it had calmed down for a moment. All the way up until 8:10 rolled around. Nothing seemed different, all the way until the front HQ doors could be heard opening in a rush. Then, before any of them could investigate, an orange blur burst into the room.

"I, the fleet idol, have arrived!" Shouted a girl. Those already in the room turned their gaze to the door, finding a girl standing there. She was dressed primarily in orange as she stood there, her eyes closed, arms in the air as she seemed to wait for something to happen. The Americans present watched in a curious silence, waiting for something further to happen.

"Ummm... Can we help you?" Anya asked from her desk, watching the girl stand there. The girl gave a nod as she opened her eyes, took one look around, and froze. Almost instantly.

The girl stood rooted the spot, her hands still in the air, as she took the sight in. But it was clear that the confidence she had entered with was gone, replaced with hesitation. Anya heard the building's front door close a few seconds after, a voice following the action.

"Naka, I told you to slow down. Rushing straight into the building might-" and the voice trailed off as the owner entered the room, getting a solid look inside. "Woah...." She muttered.

Before Anya could question the second, a third figure entered the room. Dressed identically to the first and second, she took a good look around the room. She seemed to be the most cautious of the three, keeping her hands interlocked with one another. Anya watched the three for a moment, deciding to speak finally.

"Can we help you three?" Anya asked, turning her attention fully to the three. The second to have come in nodded after she had gotten the one called Naka to finally put her arms down.

"Uhhh... Yes. Admiral said that you had brought a Kanmusu through that needed to be measured for uniforms...." She reported. Anya nodded after a moment.

"And you three might be?" Anya finally asked. The girl nodded.

"I am Sendai, namesake of the Sendai Class Cruiser. These are my ship sisters, Jintsuu and Naka." Sendai explained, still stealing a few glances at the American Ship Girls. Anya nodded.

"Alright. Ishigara had told me someone was coming by to take care of that. Although, it sounds like he failed to mention that we had brought more than one through. Correct?" Anya asked. Sendai gave a nod. The Admiral gave a sigh. "Alright, well... Girls, introduce yourselves while I finish this up." Anya instructed. The Admiral turned back to her computer as the seven American ship girls converged on the three Japanese. Sofia stood close by, as if to make sure no one made any moves of hostility.

After the introductions had been made, and Anya had finished up the last record to be made, she stood from her desk. She then approached the group of ten ship girls.

"Alright. I've got to make sure breakfast will be ready, so I need to go. Sendai, Jintsuu, Naka. I'll leave these seven in your hands." Anya stated. She then turned to her girls. "I don't want to hear about any trouble from this later on. These three were asked to do this, not ordered. Respect that." Anya said with a serious tone. She then turned to Sofia. "I trust you'll keep an eye on them?" Anya asked. The Captain gave a nod.

"Aye." Sofia responded. Anya gave a nod in acceptance.

"Ladies." Anya spoke before promptly walking out of the office and towards the front door.

Soon enough, she was making her way across Yokosuka towards the mess hall. Base life had started so she imagined that she would be encountering more of the Japanese Ship girls. But something was bugging Anya.

She had met quite a few Battleships during her time here. Nagato and Mutsu. Yamato and Musashi. The Kongou sisters.

She had met a nice sized group of Cruisers. The Sendai sisters. Yuubari. Tenryuu and her sister, Tatsuta.

Her mind then wandered to the multiple destroyers she had encountered during her time here. There were the Akatsuki sisters. Mutsuki and Kisaragi. Shigure and Yuudachi. Fubuki.

But there was something missing. Or, a certain group of someone's.

The Carriers.

So far, she had only met Houshou. And that was simply because she happened to be up at the same time. But other than Houshou, she had encountered no others. And it made Anya curious to say the least.

It brought the question to her mind. Were they purposely avoiding her? Or they just happened to keep missing one another. Anya didn't know.

She supposed that she hadn't been on base long enough to give this the amount of thought she was putting into it. But it made her slightly curious. So far, besides Houshou, the only carriers she knew for sure that called Yokosuka home were Zuikaku and Ryuujou. She wondered what other Carriers called this base home and what they were like. Because she could already tell that her first encounter with Zuikaku was going to be a memorable one.

With a shrug, she continued on her way. After a little bit longer, she neared the building that Ishigara had specified as being the mess hall. Looking for anyone outside of the building, but finding no one, she made her way inside.

The Mess Hall looked more like a smaller warehouse than anything else. Although it didn't exactly match that description. It was clear this place was well maintained and cared for. Without hesitation, Anya went for the  double door that sat directly in the middle of the front wall.

Stepping inside the Mess Hall, she was a bit surprised. The room was in no way small, looking to be able to fit maybe 200 people without a problem. She glanced around, the only thing in sight being the multiples of round tables that sat throughout the room. Each one clean and without a hint of mess.

As Anya walked further inside, she continued to look around for any signs that there other people in the building as well. But as far as she could tell, there was no one else in the room with her.

Along the opposite side of the room from where she had come in sat two double doors. Next to that sat a long window, currently having a metal shade pulled down. Making up her mind, she went for the double door that sat there. But as she did so, a voice spoke up from behind.

"May I help you?" Spoke the English accent. Anya, not fully prepared, jumped slightly. A small, stifled laugh was heard from behind. Wheeling around, Anya laid eyes on a Japanese woman. Thinking she must have misheard the accent, Anya spoke.

"Uh, yeah. I was looking for a woman by the name of Liz." Anya explained. The woman offered a small wave, a smile overcoming her features.

"That's me." Came the English accent. "Name is Elizabeth Hiroshi. But as you know, most people just call me Liz. If talk is to be believed, you must be Anya Johnson. Am I wrong?" Liz asked. Anya shook her head. "Well then, it's mighty fine to meet you, Admiral." She answered. Anya nodded as she took a second to study the woman.

Liz looked to be a few years older than Anya herself, maybe into her late thirties. She stood at Anya's height, locking eyes with Anya. Straight black hair fell to her shoulders as blue eyes watched the Admiral, a sense of curiosity behind them. She was dressed in a black T-shirt and jeans, her shoes little more than white tennis shoes.

"Yes." Anya began. "I must admit that your accent caught me off guard..." She admitted. Liz offered a small nod in return.

"Understandable. I'm Japanese by birth, but my parents worked at the Japanese embassy in London. So for the first twenty two or so years of my life, I called London home. Moved here to Japan at 25, but the accent always stuck. Anyways, enough about me. You've come to me with a mission, haven't you?" Liz asked. Anya gave a nod in response.

"Ishigara told me that you're the lady to talk to should I have a Ship Girl in need of a meal." Anya explained. Liz's face seemed to illuminate at the mention of a ship girl.

"Oh~? Does the machine that is the U.S. Navy finally have its own Kanmusu? Which one of the old gals came through? Enterprise? Arizona? Iowa?" Liz inquired, her face still showing amusement. Anya nodded.

"First two out of those three. And then some." Came the response. Liz's face turned to that of surprise.

"More than one? How many Kanmusu did you manage to summon?" Liz asked. Anya chuckled.

"We pulled through seven. Two destroyers, a cruiser, three carriers, and a battleship." She answered. Liz looked totally shell shocked.

"Seven, huh? I always heard America liked to make a show, but I guess this proves it. So, you said Arizona and Enterprise. What of the other five?" Liz asked.

"Well... Bristol and Ellyson of the Gleaves Class. Atlanta of the Atlanta Class. Langley of the Langley Class. And Lexington of the Essex Class." Came the answer. Liz nodded in response, thinking to herself for a moment. Anya raised a brow at this.
"That won't be a problem, will it?" She questioned. Liz shook her head.

"No. Just curious is all. No, we learned our lesson with Ryuujou to always be prepared." Liz responded. Anya tilted her head in confusion. A movement that did not go unnoticed by Liz, who in turn offered a small smile. "I'm guessing you're unaware of just how much the Kanmusu can consume then?" Liz asked. Anya arched a brow.

"Do tell." Anya replied.

"Well... When Ryuujou first came through, there were a lot of unknowns as you can imagine. But the first thing was getting her fed. She looked pretty small and she still is. Kind of has the pre-teen appearance. Anyways, we learned our lesson real quickly. After all was said and done, she had ended up consuming enough food to weigh in at three times her body weight. She only stopped because we ran out of stock." Liz answered. Anya looked surprised.

"Seriously?" Anya questioned. Liz nodded.

"The kitchen staff and I refer to a Kanmusu's first meal as their Initial Fueling. They will eat and eat and eat.  And once they get started, they won't stop until they're done. Of course the amount varies on the Type and Class. So you can imagine that Atlanta will out eat Bristol and Ellyson, but Arizona will trump all three." Liz explained. Anya sighed.

"Are you sure you can handle it?" She questioned. Liz laughed.

"No doubt. I've got a staff of a hundred twenty people ready to go. Serving those seven is gonna be a walk in the park compared to the sixty we find ourselves serving currently." She responded. This surprised Anya a bit.

"A hundred and twenty person staff? Isn't that a little much?" Anya asked. Liz laughed.

"You'll understand when you have to serve sixty plus girls who can out eat you on a whim. Especially the carriers. Don't get between them and food. Bad idea. And the extra hands will help when you have more than thirty of your own girls on base. Plus when the British and Germans arrive, it'll mean more mouths to feed. Better to be over prepared than overwhelmed." Liz responded. Anya nodded after a moment, seeing the reasoning in it all.

"Well then, I'm assuming a traditional American Breakfast is easy work then?" Anya asked. Liz nodded, offering a thumbs up in response.

"Oh yeah. There's these two brothers from Kansas who make the best bacon and eggs. I'm personally not a fan of American food, but boy can they change your mind." Liz responded. Anya looked surprised yet again.

"There are Americans on your staff?" Anya asked, quite shocked. Liz gave another laugh in response.

"Mhm. When we served Ryuujou, we only had about twenty. After we learned exactly what we were up against, we expanded. But it was also brought up to the fact that the second other countries like the U.S. learned of the girl's existence, they'd want in on the fun as well. So we reached out to other countries as well. America. Japan. Germany. Britain. Russia. Italy. France. Ireland. China. They've all got representation on our staff. And those are just to name a few. We're probably one of the most diverse kitchen staffs in the world. And we take pride in our job. If slaving over food preparation means these girls send a few more Abyssals to the bottom, that's fine by us. We've done it for the Japanese Kanmusu. And we'll do it just as well for the American Kanmusu. You've got my word on that." Liz answered. Anya gave a small nod in response.

"Personal question here. Since you grew up in London, you looking forward to the RN Ship Girls arrival?" Anya asked. Liz gave a confident nod.

"As much as love serving Yamato and all, I can't wait to see what Hood's made of." Liz answered. Anya nodded.

"Well, as seeing as it's in your hands now, I'll leave you to it." Anya said. Liz gave a wave as she walked past the Admiral towards the kitchen. But after a few seconds, Anya called out her to again.

"Hey, Liz." Anya called. Liz turned her head to face the American.

"Hm?" Liz responded.

"What do the Carriers think of us working alongside them?" Anya asked. Liz chewed her lip a second in thought, eventually answering the Admiral.

"Overall? If they could, they'd probably avoid you completely if it were up to them. Try and meet a few in the coming days, otherwise Ishigara is gonna drag all of them over to introduce you. And I can tell you, that won't go well. Oh, just so you know, keep an eye on Arizona. Not saying anything against her, but the Pearl Six are on base. Just to be careful. I wouldn't put it past Zuikaku to try and get a reaction out of Arizona, just to prove that you all are untrustworthy. Even if it means bringing up Pearl." Liz replied. Anya gave a slow nod.

"Noted. I'll take my leave then." Anya responded. Liz gave a nod and vanished into the kitchen. Anya could hear the kitchen suddenly come to life, Liz's English accent barking orders at her staff. Soon enough, Anya found herself heading back towards the American HQ and her girls.
-------------------------------------

Soon enough, Breakfast time rolled around. Zero Nine Thirty was the official time. Japanese Kanmusu slowly gravitated towards the mess hall from all over base. The only exception being the carriers, who had a slight speed to their step over the other girls.

Akagi, of course, was leading the pack of hungry carriers. Her appetite was the only thing scarier than the Abyssals at times.

Behind her trailed the ever stoic Kaga. Ever following her sister's steps, she silently did so without hesitation.

Behind the two followed a group of six, two of these being Zuikaku and Shokaku. Along with them came Souryuu, Hiryuu, Taihou, and Jun'you. But these were not the only Carriers that the Japanese had successfully summoned.

When the full fleet was on base, Yokosuka played host to 14 carrier girls that could be accounted for. But at the moment, Shouhou, Zuiho, and Ryuujou were currently on Sortie. So these were all those that could be present were.

Well, that wasn't exactly true. Chitose and Chiyoda had already headed for the Mess Hall previously. And Houshou usually had breakfast at the Cafe with Mamiya.

"Ohhh, I could so go for a drink right about now...." Jun'you stated with a sigh. Taihou gave a roll of the eyes.

"You could always go for a drink. If you and Chitose aren't careful, the Admiral's gonna put extra work on you again like last time." The Carrier reasoned. It was Jun'you's turn to give her own roll of the eyes.

"Oh no. What ever will I do...." Came the response. Taihou gave a sigh as Souryuu turned to the alcoholic carrier.

"Mock it all you want, Jun'you, but Taihou is right. The admiral will certainly place restrictions on you." She reasoned. Jun'you gave an exaggerated sigh.

"Admiral's such a buzzkill. Maybe that American Admiral knows how to have a good time." Came the response. Zuikaku snapped her head to the purple haired carrier, a glare so intense, it rivaled the sun.

"That's traitor talk, Jun'you." Zuikaku snapped. Jun'you gave a laugh in return.

"Big, bad, scary Americans gonna come get us. So scary." Jun'you muttered before breaking out into a full fledged laugh. "Lighten the hell up, Zuikaku. You're taking this way to seriously." She replied with another laugh. Zuikaku gave a growl in response, snapping around back to Shokaku. The white haired carrier gave a sigh.

"Zuikaku-nee, you shouldn't worry so much about this. The Americans are here to help us, not sink us." Shokaku responded. Zuikaku merely grumbled in response as the eight carriers walked on.

Eventually, the group reached the Mess Hall. Being carriers, that almost guaranteed that they were going to show up first. Not even the Kongou sisters had arrived yet, which meant that there was more for them to consume at the moment.

Except it wasn't.

As the eight walked into the Mess Hall, they laid eyes on the Admiral. Standing there quietly, not to far from one of the tables. At the table near him sat Nagato, Mutsu, Yamato, and Musashi. All four of them had calm expressions on their faces. The four of them ate quietly, only offering glances to one another. Something was off, that much was easy to see.

But it wasn't easy to see what. The tables were stacked with food just like every other morning. Nothing seemed out of place. Nothing at all.

That's when the eight finally spotted Chitose and Chiyoda, standing near the other side of the room. Trading glances with each other, they made their way over to the two.

As they approached the two, they could see that the table they were standing in front of was filled with food. However, it wasn't the food they were used to. The table was filled to the brim with various foods of which they had never seen. Or at least never had.

"What in the world....?" Chitose asked, looking over the table wth curiosity. Akagi, however, was more than willing to take one for the team as she reached down to take a piece of the cooked meat that sat there. That's when a familiar voice called out to the ten.

"Akagi, that is not for you. Your breakfast is located over there." Liz answered, walking up to the ten. Akagi turned to the woman, the carrier's mouth watering. Liz gave a sigh as she shook her head. "No Akagi. This food is not for you. Not sure if you girls would even like half of this stuff." Liz stated. Zuikaku raised a brow at this.

"You sure about that? Pretty sure Akagi will consume anything as long as it won't kill her." The carrier reasoned. Kaga turned to her with a glare as Liz nodded.

"Well... The main reason I can come up with is that this what an American Breakfast looks like." Liz explained. As if they were being told they were to be scuttled, the Japanese carrier girls subconsciously took a step back from the table, now eyeing the food suspiciously.

"What?" Taihou asked. Liz would've laughed at the reaction, but instead simply gave a nod in response.

"Mhm. And sense this food is not for you girls, I would appreciate if you wouldn't disturb it." Liz explained. But just as she had said that, a rather talk woman walked past the group of carriers, eying the food as if she was hunting her prey. Liz offered a small smile as she addressed the woman. "Based on what your admiral said, I'm guessing you must be Arizona?" Liz asked the woman, who in turn gave a nod.

"The others should be here shortly." Came the response. But the Carriers minds were buzzing away at a million miles an hour. They watched the woman like a pack of wolves, waiting for their prey to make a sudden, wrong move.

"Who are you?" Souryuu asked, looking more than questioning enough to put even Sherlock Holmes to shame. The woman casted a glance in the carrier's direction, looking over the ten for a moment. After she had done so, a small chuckle sounded from her throat.

"Name's Arizona, BB-39." Came the response. Almost immediately, the Japanese Carrier girl's minds came to a screeching and abrupt halt.

The two American Navy women had only been on base for less than a day. That's less than 24 hours, yet this woman was proof that they had put their time to good use. No normal person had a number like that by their name, let alone BB. There was no doubt who this woman was at that point. This woman was an American Kanmusu.

"You're... You're a Kanmusu...." Taihou finally declared, although somewhat unsure. Arizona arched a brow at that.

"A kan-what-su? What?" Arizona asked, quite confused. As she sat down across from the ten carriers, Liz clarified for her.

"Kanmusu is what the Japanese use to refer to a Ship Girl, Arizona." Liz explained. Arizona gave a short nod as she settled in.

"I see... Liz was it? Would you mind introducing me to these ladies?" Arizona asked politely. Liz nodded in response.

"These are some of the Carriers that Yokosuka plays home to. Chitose, Chiyoda, Akagi, Kaga, Shokaku, Zuikaku, Hiryuu, Souryuu, Taihou, and Jun'you." Liz said as she introduced the ten. Arizona gave a small nod in response, looking over the ten for a moment. The only two that didn't seem totally shell shocked were Kaga and Zuikaku. Kaga simply resorted to giving the Battleship girl a glare while as Zuikaku looked about ready to implode.

"You're.... You're an American Kamusu...." Zuikaku seethed. Arizona gave a nod and a roll of the eyes.

"Well yeah, I thought... Taihou, was it? I thought she'd already made that clear. You should try listening next time." Arizona said as she reached over and grabbed a piece of bacon off of a plate. Taking a bite out of the meat, Arizona let out a moan. "Fuck, this is good." The Battleship stated simply. Zuikaku slammed her fists on the table, glaring daggers at the Battleship.

"Your kind sank us! You sank us during the war!" Zuikaku yelled. The room seemed to grow silent for a moment until Arizona burst out laughing at her statement. Liz looked entirely uncomfortable at the moment while Arizona tried to calm herself down. While she was doing so, two rather small girls pushed between the line of carriers, their eyes going wide at all the food.

"Woah......" Bristol awed, looking over the table of the food. After a second, another voice called out to the small destroyer girl.

"Bristol, dear. You need to say excuse me before you just push through people like that." Sounded off the motherly voice as four more Navy Blue clad women walked around the carriers. Bristol gave a sheepish grin as she turned to face the carriers.

"I'm sorry...." The destroyer said whilst scratching the back of her head. She then, without waiting for a response, made herself comfortable at the table as the other destroyer girl  settled in at her side. Liz clapped her hands together as she looked between the seven.

"Alright... Well, I imagine you girls would like to eat in peace." Liz reasoned as she turned to the ten Japanese carriers. "You ten need to go back to your own food now. Let these girls eat in peace." Liz asked politely, trying to defuse the situation. After a moment, slowly but surely, the girls began to drift away from the newly summoned Ship Girls. All except Zuikaku, who had to be dragged away by Shokaku and Taihou. As the group began to recede, they broke out into furious whispers.

As the seven American ship girls watched them leave, Atlanta turned to look at Arizona who was still slightly laughing from earlier.

"What's so funny?" Asked the cruiser. Arizona simply shook her head.

"They must not know a whole lot about the war. Maybe they don't remember fully... Anyways, Zuikaku over there said I sank them... Or at least some of them..." Arizona explained. Enterprise let out a small laugh in response.

"So who were those girls? I guess we missed the introductions...." The carrier concluded. Arizona gave a nod in response.

"Those girls were apparently some of the carriers that call this base home." The battleship informed the carrier as she began to fill her plate up with some of the various foods that lay before her. Lexington huffed in response.

"Of course they are... At least we don't have to spend much time around them..." Lexington said. But as she did so, someone spoke out in response.

"Not true, Lexington." Anya explained as she poured herself a cup of orange juice from one of the pitchers sitting on the table. "You, Enterprise, and Langley will be training with them starting tomorrow." Anya explained. Lexington looked at her admiral in response, an unreadable expression on her face.

"What...?" Lexington asked slowly. Sofia was the one to nod this time as she walked up behind Anya.

"Mhm. Those girls will be in charge of teaching you three how to launch your planes. Using archery I believe." Sofia explained. Enterprise gave a questioning glance as she looked up at Anya.

"Archery?" She asked. Anya gave a nod.

"When they were trying to figure at the very start of how to make an easy way for the carriers to launch their planes without much hassle, the idea of a bow and arrow came up. And it's proved to be quite effective so far. Speaking of such, all of you girls will be working with mentors at first. Just to make sure you can adjust to the differences. We don't need to send you out there, only to have you sunk because something was too different." Anya explained. After a few quiet minutes of eating, Atlanta looked up at Anya.

"Do you know who we'll be working with, Admiral?" Atlanta asked quietly. Anya thought about it a moment before shaking her head.

"I don't know who each of you will be training with. The only one I know for sure is who Arizona is working with... And well... You've already made quite the impression on them..." Anya answered with a small smile. Arizona laughed.

"I got Nagato? Oh, this is gonna be fun..." Arizona answered. Sofia, having a smile of her own present, answered the battleship.

"Yes.. While that may be, try not to have a repeat of earlier today. It's clear she's not used to that kind of thing. So please, refrain from it." Sofia asked. Arizona gave a nod in response.

"You got it, Cap." Answered the Battleship. After a moment, Langley, who had been watching the various groups of Japanese ship girls enter, spoke.

"They don't seem to have a set uniform, do they?" Langley asked, looking between the various girls. Anya nodded in response.

"Their Admiral isn't very focused on that at the moment. He's got other things to worry about right now." Anya answered. As if to prove her point, a smaller girl, seeming to be dressed in a simple school swimsuit entered the Mess Hall, letting out a yawn.

"Right....." Atlanta answered, watching the girl sit down. "That's a little much..." The cruiser reasoned. Anya only gave a nod of the head in response. Liz nodded in response.

"That's Iku.... She's... Well she's a sub, so maybe that's a fair answer. Anyways, I'll let you girls eat. And don't worry about running out. We'll be keeping an eye on the amount of food so have as much as you want." Liz said as she turned and went. The girls offered a parting thanks as they began to dig in to their breakfast with Anya and Sofia snacking here and there.
-------------------------------------

Eventually, breakfast began to wind down. Well... That's not exactly right. Breakfast began to wind down for the Japanese ship girls around 10:20. But for the American Ship Girls?

11:45. 11:45 is when the girls had finally decided that breakfast was over. This also meant that Anya would never doubt Liz ever again when it came to the subject. Especially since she had watched as Bristol out ate her with ease.

Well, with the girls now having a stomach full of food, that was pretty much the schedule for the day handled.

"So? What's the plan now Admiral? We've been measured. We've had quite the meal. What's next?" Arizona asked, looking down at the white clad woman. The latter in question turned to look at the Battleship, thinking for a moment.

"Well... All that really needs to be done today is really on my own. So truthfully, the rest of the day is yours to do with what you wish. Except you Langley. Like I said earlier, there is someone who very much is looking forward to meeting you." Anya explained. Enterprise and Lexington looked at Langley in question as the carrier looked at her Admiral.

"So it is true. Well... May I ask who it is that wishes to meet me?" Langley asked.

"Tell me, Langley, does the name Houshou stand out to you in anyway?" Anya asked the motherly carrier. Langley in turn shook her head.

"I'm afraid not, Admiral. If I may ask, should it?" She asked. Anya offered a small nod.

"It should. Houshou was the world's first carrier to be built as a carrier, instead of converted. But, she also wishes to meet you because she is the first Japanese carrier, much like you are the first American carrier." Anya explained. "She is a mother figure to the Carriers here much like you are to Enterprise and Lexington." Anya stated. Enterprise and Lexington looked ready to object, but refrained from doing so at the last moment.

"So she is, is she?" Langley asked, a finger on her chin in thought. After a moment, a small smile made its way to her mouth. "Then we should not keep her waiting any longer, Admiral."

Anya nodded. "Alright, well. Langley and myself will be heading that way then. The rest of you can look around the sleeping quarters if you wish. Ishigara said that a few other things had been included as well. You might try and figure out what those things are." The other six nodded in response, soon turning towards the American side of the base. Sofia gave a short nod as well before turning and following the six, making sure to keep Bristol from wandering too far off course. Watching them go for a moment, Anya turned back to Langley. "Shall we?" She asked. Langley offered a smile followed by a nod.

As the two made their way towards the Cafe, Anya looked over at Langley. The carrier in question was looking around curiously, almost like a child exploring for the first time. After moment, Anya turned to Langley.

"So Langley, how're you handling everything so far?" She asked. Langley thought about the question for a moment before answering.

"It's quite strange, Admiral. This form is new to me. Eating is new to me..... I've never experienced any of these things that I have today... Yet... It just seems natural... Do you know what I mean?" Langley asked, looking over at her Admiral. Anya simply shook her head.

"I can't say I do. I can't say why it comes so naturally to you girls even though it should be brand new. But I do have a guess." Anya replied. Langley looked at her curiously.

"And what might that be, Admiral?" Langley asked. Anya smiled.

"Your crew. Or, former crew would be more correct. You may have not experienced what you have today back then, but they did. They ate. They slept. They walked. They did everything a normal person would do. I think that you're copying what they did without even realizing it.  Because you became so used to it over your years of service. Same goes for the other girls. Arizona. Enterprise. Bristol. All the same thing." Anya reasoned. Langley seemed to think about this for a moment, running her fingers over the edge of her skirt as she did so.

"Possibly... It would make sense..." Langley admitted. She looked at Anya with a smile. "You're quite smart, Admiral." Anya gave a small laugh in return.

"Maybe. Maybe you're giving me more credit than I deserve." Anya said. Langley gave a small shake of the head.

"I do not think so, Admiral... I must ask. You know so much about us, because of our past service, but we know very little about you... Do you have any family members in military service? Or, to be more precise, did you have any family members serve in the war?" Langley asked. Anya gave a nod.

"My father's grandfather was in the Army. Signed on the day after Pearl, just like every other able bodied young guy back then.... Soon enough, he was in Europe." Anya explained. Langley gave a short nod.

"Did he make it back home?" She asked. Anya nodded her head.

"Mhm. One of the lucky ones I guess. He served a full three years over there before he was wounded in combat. Awarded the Purple Heart for his bravery.... I met him a few times before he passed." Anya explained. Langley gave a short nod.

"And your mother's side?" Langley asked. Anya nodded.

"Grandfather as well. He served with the Navy. He'd been a part of it for eight years when the U.S. Entered the war. He was on leave though when Pearl happened. After Pearl, he was assigned to the U.S.S. Maryland, a Colorado class battleship... Maryland was actually at Pearl when it happened... only light damage though..." Anya answered the carrier. Langley gave a slow nod before asking further.

"Good old Battleship. It never hurts to be behind those old girl's guns... Did he make it home?" Langley asked quietly. Anya gave a nod in response.

"He did. I never got to meet him though. He was well into his thirties when the war came to a close. He died well before I was born, but I've heard some of the stories. Always ready for a party, just like any other sailor. I wonder what he'd do if he knew that his great grand daughter was commanding the very ships he served so long with...." Anya mused. Langley let a small smile show.

"I think he'd look on with pride, knowing his own family is who we ladies of steel look to for leadership in a time so very different from our own. That's no small feat, Admiral... Do you think if Maryland comes through, she'll know who you are?" Langley questioned. Anya offered a shrug in response.

"Would you be able to? To be able to recognize the descendants of those who served with you?" Anya replied. Langley thought to herself for a moment before answering.

"I'd like to think I would.... But I can't say for sure.... A lot of time has passed since I called the ocean home..." Langley answered. Anya gave a nod as the two walked on towards the Cafe.

Eventually, the two of them arrived at the front of the cafe. Anya stepped inside first, followed closely by Langley. As they stepped inside, only four people registered to Anya's vision. Houshou, Mamiya, Fubuki, and another girl that looked very similar to the destroyer.

As they approached Houshou and Mamiya, the two turned to look at Anya.

"Hello, Admiral. How can we help you today?" Mamiya asked the blonde woman. Anya gave a small nod as she looked to Houshou.

"Do you remember what you said to me this morning?" Anya asked the carrier. Houshou thought quietly for a moment before giving a nod.

"Yes. I mentioned a few things but I believe you are referring to my meeting with the carrier Langley. Is this not the subject you are referring to?" Houshou asked, watching Anya carefully. The blonde admiral gave a nod in response, stepping a few feet to the side, letting Houshou's vision focus on the woman behind her.

"Houshou, may I introduce you to Langley. Langley, this is Houshou." Anya introduced the two. Anya and Mamiya watched as the two studied each other quietly for a moment. Houshou came out from behind the counter, now standing directly in front of Langley. After a moment, Houshou finally spoke, a smile on her lips.

"It's so very nice to meet you, Langley." Houshou finally said. The American carrier gave a small smile.

"The honor is returned, I assure you. You were the first of our kind. That's no small thing to be overlooked." Langley responded. Anya watched as the two motherly carriers were soon enveloped in their own conversation. Mamiya gave a smile to Anya before returning to work. Anya took a few steps back towards the entrance, nearing Fubuki and her friend.

"Houshou-san sure looks happy...." The girl across from Fubuki observed. Fubuki watched the two carriers as well before turning her gaze to Anya.

"Anya-San, is that the Langley Houshou wanted to meet?" Fubuki asked the American admiral. Anya nodded in response, standing next to their table.

"She is. She's the first American carrier. Although there was a light carrier with the same name. But she was named after this Langley. So Fubuki, who is your friend here?" Anya asked, turning her attention to the destroyer girl. Fubuki gave a nod as she introduced the girl.

"This is Shirayuki, one of my ship sisters." Fubuki introduced as Anya turned her gaze to the other destroyer.

"Well, it's nice to meet you Shirayuki." Anya said. The indicated destroyer gave a small nod in response.

"Likewise, Anya-San.... Is it true you summoned more than one Kanmusu?" The destroyer asked. Anya gave a nod in response.

"It is... I imagine you noticed them at breakfast?" Anya asked. Shirayuki gave a nod. Anya laughed slightly. "I'm sorry if they were too rowdy. I noticed most of you girls giving them glances every now and then..." To which Shirayuki shook her head.

"It's not that they were being rowdy. It's the fact that... Well the fact that they're American Kanmusu... Up until yesterday, it was only us of the Japanese. Then today, out of no where, seven of them appear at breakfast.... It's both scary and comforting..." Shirayuki explained. Anya raised a brow, looking at the destroyer.

"How so?" Anya asked. Shirayuki stayed silent for a moment, trying to come with an explanation. After a moment, she looked back at Anya.

"Well... It's scary because those girls are the very ships we fought against so very long ago... A fight we did not come out victorious.... But it's also comforting because they represent help... They represent the fact that the the U.S. values its relationship with Japan... Even if some of us Japanese Kanmusu do not return the feeling....." Shirayuki explained. Anya gave a short nod in response, watching the two carriers converse.

After a while, Anya approached the two. Laying a hand on Langley's shoulder, she spoke.

"I need to get back. Langley, if you would like to stay and talk some more, that is fine. You remember the way back, don't you?" Anya asked. Langley gave a short nod in response to her Admiral, offering a small smile. Anya returned the smile, nodding as she did so.

"Very well. I'll leave then. Langley. Houshou." Anya answered as she turned to leave, offering a wave to the two destroyers that sat there.

She soon left the cafe, making her way back to the American portion of Yokosuka.
-------------------------------------

Eventually, the day began to draw to a close. After getting the girls a much lighter dinner compared to their earlier breakfast, the girls retreated to their sleeping quarters at 9:15.

At 9:25, Anya decided to check in on them. Heading to the first dorm building on the right, Anya got her first look at the inside.

To her immediate right and left upon entering the building sat staircases, showing the way up to the next floor. Walking past them, Anya came across a single hallway lined with doors on either side. At the end of the hall, a door sat marked Washroom. On her right, the first door had three nameplates adorning it. Hand carved, they looked like, as they informed passerby's of who called the room their own.

The door one the right had nameplates indicating Langley, Enterprise, and Lexington. Giving a knock on the door, it soon opened, giving view to Enterprise. No longer dressed in her Navy Blue sailors outfit, she now wore a simple white tank top and shorts, her feet clear of any footwear.

"Admiral?" Enterprise asked, looking at the woman. Anya nodded.

"Oh good, you got the clothes Ishigara sent for you. Just checking to see how you girls like your accommodations. Are they to your liking?" Anya asked. Enterprise gave a nod, opening the door wider for her to look in.

The room itself was well sized. Or, well sized enough to fit three large beds inside. Two windows decorated the wall opposite the door, curtains blocking view from outside. Langley was sitting on the edge of the right bed while Lexington was lounging on the middle. The left sat empty, giving info that it belonged to Enterprise. Around the room sat various pieces of furniture, such as a table a few chairs. A dresser sat along the left wall.

"Well, it's good to see you girls are comfortable. If I may, where did the nameplates come from?" Anya asked. Enterprise shrugged.

"Haven't a clue. We found crates full of them in one of the supply closets. Pretty sure there's one for every ship the Navy's ever had." Enterprise informed her. Anya looked surprised.

"And they're all hand carved?" She asked. Enterprise gave a nod in response. Anya studied the nameplates for another moment before giving a final nod, looking back to Enterprise. "Base time starts at oh seven hundred. You three need to be up and ready by zero six thirty." Anya informed her. Enterprise gave a nod.

"Will do Admiral." Enterprise answered. Anya nodded.

"Lights out at twenty two hundred. Goodnight Ladies." Anya responded.

"Goodnight Admiral."

"Night"

"Yeah, what they said..."

Anya gave a nod as Enterprise closed the door. Turning around, she now faced the door behind her, which adorned four name plates.

Arizona, Atlanta, Ellyson, and Bristol. Giving a knock on the door, it opened a few seconds after, the tall figure of Arizona standing there. Dressed much like Enterprise was, she looked down at her Admiral.

"Hello Admiral. Come to tuck us old gals in?" Arizona asked with a smile. Anya laughed in response, shaking her head.

"No. Just came to make sure everything's alright. I assume you heard what I told the carriers about lights out?" To which Arizona nodded.

"Twenty Two Hundred." Arizona clarified. Anya nodded.

"So how are you girls adjusting to your room?" Anya asked. Arizona chuckled lightly as she opened the door wider.

"My roommates seem to like it alright." Arizona answered as Anya saw what she meant.

The bed on the right held a sprawled out Atlanta, already fast asleep. The bed's blankets covered up to her waist before they folded over on themselves.

The bed to the left sat empty, but had already been disturbed, giving the impression that Arizona would be slumbering there.

And the middle bed? The middle bed was currently playing host to two Gleaves class destroyers, curled up to one another as they slept soundly. Anya couldn't help but let a small smile through.

"Well... I guess that answers that.... Arizona, can I ask you a question?" She asked as she looked over at the Battleship. Arizona gave a nod.

"Shoot." Came the response.

"I was wondering... Why are you-"

"Being so kind to the Japanese Ship Girls even though I should have more of a reason to hate them more than the other girls?" Arizona finished for her. Anya gave a slow nod, which in turn Arizona nodded in understanding.

"Make no mistake Admiral. I don't find my current situation ideal in any sense of the word. I do have reservations about working with them. But the Navy.... My country would not ask me to work alongside those who sank me if it were not important. So I've decided to put aside my personal feelings on the subject in favor of trying to get along with them... If only a few for right now..." Arizona answered. Anya gave a slow nod.

"But being so friendly with the destroyers today doesn't fit in with that fully..." Anya reasoned. Arizona nodded.

"True. But if I, the first battleship to fall to the Japanese during the war, can make good relations with them, how do you think the other American ship girls will take it? It may make things easier for everyone in the long run... If that means becoming friends with a group of destroyers and a pair of Battleships, that's fine by me." Arizona finished. Anya nodded again, albeit this time a little more understandingly.

"Well... Thank you then I guess. You know, you were one of the ones we were worried about to begin with..." Anya stated. Arizona gave a brief, short laugh.

"Understandable." The Battleship replied.

"But... This still doesn't tell me why you embarrassed Nagato like you did..." Anya insisted. Arizona nodded.

"There wasn't any real reason behind that. That was to see if I could get a reaction out of her. She looked too calm. I guess having the ability to actually speak now can lead to some interesting scenarios..." Arizona said. Anya nodded. "If I may ask Admiral... What happened during the war? After I went down?" Arizona asked. Anya bit her tongue a moment, trying to find an answer.

"That's a question better answered by someone other than me... I mean, I know the basics. But something tells me you want more than the basics...." Anya reasoned. Arizona gave a small nod. "I'll... I'll think of something, Arizona. You have my word." Anya answered.

"Thank you Admiral."

"Well.... That's all I have then. Goodnight Arizona." She said as she began to walk out of the room.

"Goodnight Admiral." Came the response before the door shut behind her.
-------------------------------------

10 Minutes later, Anya walked back into her and Sofia's office. Sofia, currently working on some paperwork. Upon Anya entering, Sofia looked up at her friend.

"Are all the warships all cozy and the like?" Sofia asked with a light laugh. Anya shook her head, a small smile present on her face.

"Yeah. Atlanta, Bristol, and Ellyson are already out cold. The other four are slowly getting there..." Anya answered as she settled in at her desk. Sofia nodded as she looked back down at her work.

"Did you ever think during your first week at the academy that we'd be trading words with Enterprise? Or any ship for that matter?" Sofia asked from her desk. Anya shook her head as she opened a drawer, retrieving her tablet.

Unlocking it, she pulled up the measurements that the Sendai sisters had taken of the girls. Seeing that it was all there, she closed down her tablet. Turning back to her computer, she opened a video conference. Typing in the info she needed, the screen flashed the word "Connecting" a few times before the screen went black. Then, after another second, the image of a man popped onto screen.

"Admiral." James Hayfield greeted, watching Anya quietly.

"Admiral." Anya returned the greeting, sitting back in her chair. She watched Hayfield a moment, causing the five star Admiral gain an amused look.

"You look like you've been run over by a truck...." Hayfield said, a small grin on his face. His light blue eyes watched the three star admiral with a sense of amusement, his graying hair clear to see. Anya only offered a small nod in response.

"Something like that. Being the Admiral of a fleet is kind of tiring. And we've only been here for one day..." Anya answered. Sofia bit back a laugh in response as the two Admirals conversed. "So, can we get the first thing out of the way?" Anya asked. James nodded.

"Please. So, which ship came through?" Hayfield asked. Anya shook her head.

"Ships. Plural, sir. Plural." Anya explained. Hayfield looked not confused, but instead curious.

"Ships, is it? Which ones did we get?" Hayfield asked. Anya gave a long sigh for a moment before she answered.

"DD-453, U.S.S. Bristol. DD-454, U.S.S. Ellyson. CL-51, U.S.S. Atlanta. CV-1, U.S.S. Langley. CV-6, U.S.S. Enterprise. CV-16, U.S.S. Lexington. And finally, BB-39, U.S.S. Arizona." Anya recalled. Hayfield sat silent for a moment, writing down the info. After he did so, he looked back at Anya.

"Seven in one go? And not only that, but both Enterprise and Arizona? You did good, Johnson." Hayfield said. Anya had a small smile.

"With all due respect, Sir. It was their choice whether or not to answer the call. I'm just the one they call Admiral." Anya reasoned. Hayfield let out a small laugh.

"Maybe. Maybe I'm just giving you too much credit. But I didn't put you out there for no reason. Keep that in mind." Hayfield responded. "Anyways, I assume you got their measurements?" To which the American blonde gave a nod.

"I did. And they've already been sent your way. I assume I can expect their uniforms and riggings in the coming days?" Anya asked to which the Fleet Admiral gave a nod.

"You can. I'll get the info to the right people and hopefully, you won't have to wait to long to get those girls back to their full glory. Guns and all." Hayfield responded. Anya gave a nod in response, running a hand through her hair.

"If you had told me four years ago that I'd be an Admiral now, I would've laughed in your face, rank be damned... But now that I'm actually here...."

"It's intimidating, isn't it?" Hayfield answered, a sense of calm filling his words. Anya gave a small nod in response.

"It is sir. Not only that, but I'm also in charge of a bunch of odd characters.... Certainly not the normal command position." Anya explained. Hayfield gave a long, heart felt laugh in return.

"No it's not. But that's what makes you perfect, Admiral. You think an old dog like me could handle something like that? Not a chance in hell. This is a new kind of command. And that requires a new kind of Admiral. And there's only two people in the world right now who know what it's like. And they're both present at Yokosuka. And also, hello captain." Hayfield called. Sofia burst out laughing.

"Hello Admiral." Came the response. Hayfield chuckled.

"She seems to be in good spirits...." Hayfield examined. Anya shook her head as she glanced over at the captain.

"I think it's just the day finally getting to her, Sir." Anya answered, a smile ever present on her face. Hayfield gave a nod in response.

"I got a call from General Johnson and General Johnson today. They're rooting for you." James answered. Anya merely chuckled.

"I imagine they are. Well, that's my report. If you don't mind, I'd like to call it a night sir." Anya answered. Hayfield gave a nod. But before he cut the call, Anya spoke again. "Hold a moment sir. There's something I need to bring to your attention." Anya said. Hayfield raised a brow.

"That would be?" Hayfield asked.

"The fleet's lack of resources. Captain Algerona and myself got a look at the situation in detail yesterday... And to be honest, it's a lot worse than we expected..." Anya explained. "They're basically down to scraps with Japan having most of its trading cut down to size because of the Abyssals. The idea of bringing back the Pacific fleet won't be possible if we can't support the girls we already have present...."

"And what do you suppose we do about this?" The man asked. Anya was more than ready with an answer.

"We do what we do best. We make up for our late entrance by reinforcing our allies. In this case, metric fuck tons of resources. With a lot of people dislocated off the coasts, they're looking for work. Those people came help. Offer them factory jobs. Get the economy moving again." Anya reasoned. Hayfield sat silent a moment before giving a slow nod.

"I can't promise anything for sure, Admiral. But I'll see what can be done. Throw a few ideas around, see if one catches on." Hayfield suggested. Anya gave a nod.

"I would appreciate that Sir. Actually, I also have one other request, if I may?" Anya asked. Hayfield nodded.

"And what might that be?" He asked.

"It's a favor to one of the girls..." Anya revealed. With a nod, Hayfield gestured for her to explain. From there, Anya did exactly that.
