A Day On The Town

It took a whole three weeks. Not my longest for a new chapter. But, for the first time since More Firepower, I'm truly satisfied with how this chapter turned out. Enjoy.
-------------------------------------------------

Arizona sighed as she rose from her docks, wrapping a towel around herself as she stood from the water. Her repairs had finally drawn to a close, a grand total of just over sixteen hours. It was now thirty minutes after twelve, the clock just having passed noon.

But, it wasn't that way to begin with. Originally, her repairs were to take close to 27 hours. But, it had seemed that the people that the scientists and engineers in charge of the idea of taking care of the ship girls had apparently found a way to decrease the time needed to repair them. With a bucket it would seem.

Yeah, it sounds crazy. And that's what Arizona had said to Rushman when she said she was looking for girls to test it on. Some had been open to the appealing idea of not having to sit in the docks for so long, but others were skeptical. Arizona had been among those who were not willing to take w chance with it.

That's when Rushman had instead decided to cast all of the battleship's worries out the window. Instead, Arizona, along with Haruna and Zuikaku, had in turn found themselves to be dunked with some green liquid, coming from a bucket that extended from the wall overhead. The fleet overall had not been expecting that. Even more so, they had not been expecting the moan of relief that Arizona had released when the green liquid began to mix into her bath water, causing it to glow somewhat as it worked it's magic. And clearly Arizona hadn't been intending it either if the blush on her cheeks was anything to go by.

But, that was in the past. Even if it was only five minutes, it was the past. The slight remnants of the the blush on the American battleship's face meant nothing. Not a single thing. As Arizona entered the changing room, wrapped in her towel, she could sense Haruna and Zuikaku on her tail.

Stepping into the changing room, she approached the locker that she had secured her uniform within. But as she thought about it, the uniform that she had made her way to Pearl hadn't been in the best condition by the time she and the other members of the combined fleet had arrived. It made her wonder if the uniform would be acceptable to wear again despite the status of it.

But when she opened her locker, she found not her uniform waiting for her, but instead what looked like a civilian outfit. Arching a brow, first spotted the light jacket that hung within, dark blue in color and Navy in gold down the right arm, there was something about it that gave Arizona the feeling that it wasn't just another hand me down item. There wasn't a price tag on it, but it looked like it had costed more than the normal price.

"What....?" Arizona asked after a moment, still looking through her locker. That's when she heard approaching footsteps.

"You like them? Figured you might want something other than the uniform to wear for once..." Whitney said as she approached, leaning against the lockers as she looked at the battleship. Arizona nodded as she ran her fingers over the silky soft material of the jacket.

"There wasn't a chance in saving my uniform was there...." She mused, looking at the woman. Whitney laughed at the answer, nodding.

"Not a chance. A lot of your girl's uniforms just kind of evaporated in the wash... And those that didn't are now more useful as towels rather than uniforms." She replied. Arizona nodded as she looked through the clothes that had been provided for her, soon finding the jeans that sat there as well.

"You pick these out?" Arizona asked. Whitney nodded as she jerked her head towards Haruna and Zuikaku.

"All of you girls have alternate outfits for your time on Pearl. Also, you've been provided sleeping wear as well should you choose to utilize it." She said before turning and going. "If you want, get dressed and we can go for some lunch in Honolulu if you're interested." She said. Arizona looked at the woman in surprise at this.

"Is that okay? I thought we were supposed to be a secret. And I don't feel okay just up and leaving Haruna like that.... And what about Hayfield? Isn't he waiting on a check in?" She asked. Whitney only chuckled as she shook her head at the question.

"First, yes it's fine. Hayfield approved it. Secondly, you still are a secret as long as you don't just go around summoning your rigging. Third, I meant Haruna come as well. Zuikaku can if she wants to, but she seems to have something on her mind.... And as for checking in with Hayfield, refer back to answer 2 for any lasting confusion." Whitney said in response. "Anyways, get me an answer soon. Right now, I'll leave you ladies to get dressed." She said before leaving the changing room. Arizona watched her go a moment before turning her attention back to her new clothes. Sighing, she dropped her towel as she began to change into the outfit.

A few moments later, she was just pulling her shirt over her head as she looked down at herself for a moment before shrugging and pulled on the Jacket as well, zipping it halfway before turning and going to find Haruna.

Doing so, she found Haruna near her own locker, finishing up her changing of her own. Looking at the girl, Arizona couldn't help but be impressed. Normally, Haruna's normal outfit seemed to hide her curves. But, in the hire jacket she now adorned and a pair of blue jeans, the curves only had so much to hide behind.

For once, Arizona was getting a good look at the woman she had feelings for without the hinderance of the normal white and red outfit. And she had to admit, Haruna looked good. No, good wasn't the right word. Arizona wasn't sure what the right word was, but good wasn't it. This was the first time seeing the girl in the something that wasn't her usual attire or a towel, and she didn't know what to say.

Zipping up the white and red jacket, Haruna gave a sigh before turning and looking at Arizona, giving a soft smile as Haruna rested her hands in her jacket's pockets. "It's so soft..." She said in wonder. Arizona only chuckled as she stepped up to the woman, their height becoming clear now that Haruna wasn't wearing her usual heels. Coming up to about Arizona's collar bone, the height difference was cemented in place.

Arizona nodded as she placed her hands inside her own pockets as she kissed the girl's forehead, something that Haruna accepted gladly. But as she did so, Arizona found something within her pocket. Grabbing it, she chuckled as she brought the object out, revealing to be her chief engineer. Depositing the woman atop of her head, she looked up at the fairy.

"How's everything going? Did the bucket do what it said it would?" She asked, peering up at the figure as she had her hands in her pockets. The tiny being atop her head nodded in response to the question, launching the two into a conversation as Haruna chuckled. Turning her head, she spied Zuikaku sitting on one of the changing room benches. Taking a final glance at Arizona, the Kongou made her way over to the quiet carrier.

"Zuikaku-San....?" She asked quietly. The carrier only replied with the smallest of nods, acknowledging the battleship but doing nothing more than that. Haruna hesitated a moment before slowly starting to approach the girl, an action which Zuikaku offered no resistance to. "Are you ok....?" The battleship further pushed. At this, the carrier didn't give an answer.

Watching her a moment, Haruna took a seat next to Z, facing the other way as Haruna watched Arizona converse with her chief. After a moment, Haruna looked back to the carrier.

"Arizona-San and myself are getting ready to head out over to the city... Would you want to come....?" Haruna asked, looking at the carrier. The carrier didn't answer, only running a hand through her hair, making sure it was completely dry as it cascaded down her shoulder. After a moment, she shook her head at the suggestion as she stood, starting to go through her locker, looking for clothes to wear.

"No, you guys go. You two need some time to get away from everyone else. When was the last time that it's just been you two doing something just together? None of your sisters? None of the destroyers?" Zuikaku asked, not looking away from her locker as she inspected the jacket that hung within. Haruna furrowed her brow in thought for a moment, thinking over the question brought to her before widening her eyes in thought, a slight blush coming to her cheeks. Zuikaku only smiled slightly at the sight, nodding to herself. "See...?" She asked. Haruna only shook her head as she looked to the girl.

"But what about you...?" She asked. "You've been quiet since we entered the waters around Hawaii...." She said, looking at the carrier. Zuikaku shook her head in a dismissive nature at the question.

"It's not something you need to worry yourself about. It doesn't concern you anyways." She said, still not looking away from her locker. Haruna tried to offer some resistance at the phrase.

"But I think it wise that you not-"

"Haruna." Zuikaku said in her best attempt not to get aggravated with the girl. "Look, I know you're trying to be your usual self and be helpful and all that, but please. Not right now. Arizona's waiting to go as soon as you're ready and I don't feel like talking. So you're just wasting your time." She said in no short way. Haruna seemed caught off guard by this a moment before giving a slow nod, not bothering with a response. Standing, she only spared the briefest of glances at the second of the Shokaku class before walking back over to Arizona, who was now removing her Chief engineer from her head, and dropping the fairy down the front of her shirt, where she presumably vanished back inside of Arizona as the battleship zipped her jacket up. Looking to Haruna, she smiled.

"Sorry that took so long. So what's the story on Zuikaku? She coming or not?" Arizona asked, taking her own glance over at the carrier. Haruna shook her head, stuffing her hands in her pockets as well.

"Zuikaku-San will not be joining us for our trip..." Haruna said after a moment. Arizona arched a brow as she looked at the back of the carrier for a moment before shrugging her shoulders.

"Oh well. Her loss. Now come on. Whitney seems like the person not be kept waiting for too long..." She mused before turning back towards the door to the docks, Haruna soon following behind. But before she did so, Arizona stopped abruptly as she turned back to the battleship as she gestured to her hair.

"Can't believe I've never asked this before now, but your head gear. Do you only wear it when you're wearing your normal attire or do you just wear it whenever...?" She asked, visibly gesturing to the vacant space where the item usually sat atop the girl's head, even patting it for good measure. Haruna giggled as she nodded in understanding, understanding where she was coming from.

"Normally, I do only wear it with my normal attire. Rarely, my sisters and I will wear it while not adorning the usual. But for today, I figured it best to leave it behind. Partly, because it is comfortable to go without it every once and a while. Not only that, but the headgear is almost like a trademark item for My sisters and myself. Wearing it in public may... Attract attention..." She said to which Arizona nodded immediately at that.

"Wasn't even thinking along those lines. I haven't had much if any exposure to the public so I don't take in to account of how well known you girls are... Glad you thought of that now or we may have had trouble..." She mused. Haruna only smiled as she shrugged.

"We may still have some trouble, but my head piece takes away a good portion of the possibility." She said as she zipped her jacket all the way up, giving full sight to the Rising Sun Design atop the white background. The sun was placed over Haruna's right shoulder with it's rays traveling in various directions across the front before ending it what looked like unfinished paint trails.

Arizona nodded at that before gesturing to the door. "Shall we...?" She asked. Haruna nodded gladly.

Stepping out into the docks, the feeling of the heat and the steam hit them full force as they stepped out into the room, walking along the path that winded along the docks, which most were still be occupied by other members of the fleet. One of the first ones to spot the two was Maryland, the battleship giving a lazy wave as she laid back in her dock.

Waving back, the two repaired battleships approached the girl, and with her, her direct neighbors. Atlanta and Nagato.

"Well don't you two look snazzy. Whitney provide those for you?" Maryland asked, tucking her knees against her chest as she rested her chin on her arms. Arizona nodded as she jerked her head towards the door leading back to the lobby of the building.

"Yeah. We're fixing to head out with her and go over to Honolulu for lunch or something... Don't really know the specifics but I'm looking forward to it..." She said. Maryland looked offended that she hadn't been informed of this earlier.

"What?! Why just the two of you?" Maryland demands. Arizona only rolled her eyes as she looked to the clock on the wall, above Mary's bath where the number 9 was easily seen.

"Because you still have over nine hours left in repair time? And the fact that your fairies will have your ass should you try to skip out on said time...?" She stated, gesturing to the gathering of Maryland's and Nagato's fairies on the wall between their baths, obviously conversing within one another. Hearing Arizona's suggestion, Mary's crew promptly turned and nodded, looking up at Arizona as Nagato's fairies seemed to watch in amusement. Maryland only rolled her eyes as she looked at her fairies.

"Traitors." She said, looking down at the little beings. The fairies only shrugged in response before going back to their talking with Nagato's, something that stuck Arizona as odd.

"What are they up to anyway?" Arizona asked, looking to the two. It was Nagato who answered the battleship, glancing at the fairies before looking up to Arizona.

"They seem to be comparing notes. I'm assuming since Maryland's and my own weaponry layout are so similar, I believe they are seeing what they can do to increase efficiency when using said weapons..." She said in response as she looked at the battleship. Arizona gave a slow nod.

".... And that'll work?" She asked. Nagato and Maryland shrugged.

"We don't know. But they seem to think it will." Maryland said, looking down at the meeting of fairies for a moment before looking back up to Arizona. "Anyways, so you two lovebirds heading out then?" She asked. Arizona nodded.

"Yeah... We're gonna leave here and meet up with Whitney, who will hen drive us into Honolulu presumably..." She said as she jerked her head towards the door. Maryland nodded.

"Alright... Well, have fun... I'll just be here... Wondering if my true love will ever return the feeling..." She huffed. Arizona only rolled her eyes.

"The Admiral is not a toy to be lusted over...." She said in response. Before Mary could respond however, it was Dr. Rushman who answered her.

"I don't know. Her ass was a godsend when i knew her in high school. Is it still up to par?" She asked as she approached the group. The girls within earshot however only stared at the woman as if she had two heads. "What? Did I say something wrong?" She asked, tilting her head in confusion. Maryland only glared at the woman in response. Arizona only stared at the woman before shaking her head, looking at Haruna.

"We should probably get going." Arizona offered. Haruna only nodded at the idea, soon leaving the group as they could hear the silence that had settled between Rushman and Mary.

Rolling her eyes, Arizona lead the way as they stepped out into the lobby. In doing so, they found themselves face to face with Whitney, who seemed to be laughing at something on her phone.

"Something amusing...?" Arizona asked as they approached. Whitney only shook her head as she slipped her phone back into her pocket of her jeans, she now also dressed in civilian clothing.

"Nothing much. Okay.. I wasn't even thinking when we were talking before, but before we go and head into the city, you girls should probably pick what rooms you want... I figure Haruna will want to room with Kongou so I wasn't sure how you all wanted to do it.." She said. Arizona and Haruna nodded slowly before Haruna looked to the staircase.

"Shall we Arizona-San?" She asked. Arizona nodded, looking to Whitney.

"This'll only take a few moments. We'll meet you outside." She said. Whitney nodded as she promptly turned and went for the exit of the lobby as the two battleships turned to head for the stairs.

Exactly seven and a half minutes later, Whitney was sitting at the wheel of a civilian Jeep as she had her phone in front of the steering wheel, presumably sending someone a message. At the light click of the door leading into the compound opening, Whitney tucked her phone into her pocket as she watched Arizona and Haruna exiting he building.

"Everything settled?" Whitney asked as she watched the two. Arizona nodded as she climbed into the back of the jeep, presumably leaving the passenger seat for Haruna. But the Japanese girl wasn't having any of it as she settled into the seat next to Arizona, chuckling at the look Arizona have her as they went about securing their seat belts. Haruna pecked Arizona on the cheek with a kiss as the battleship looked to the sailor.

"Yeah. We're good to go." She said, nodding her head. Whitney nodded as she shifted the Jeep out of neutral before slowly starting to inch it out of its resting place as it began to roll forward, waiting for the group of sailors to pass by before she sped up, getting back onto the utility road as she began to make her way towards the exit of Pearl Harbor.

As she did so, Whitney keeping the radio on a low volume in case one of the two needed her attention, the Jeep drove across Pearl as it made its way to its current goal. As it did so, Haruna spotted something that made her wonder. Looking at it for a second, Haruna's eyes widened slightly as she realized what it was exactly she was looking at. Arizona, turning her head to look out Haruna's direction, found herself surprised to find Haruna like this.

"Haruna... What is it..?" She asked, looking at the girl. Haruna only pointed a finger at the object that had so adamantly caught her attention, causing the American battleship to fall silent at the sight.

"Whitney...." Arizona called in a weak voice, causing the sailor to look back at the two through the rearview mirror.

"Yeah, Arizona?" She asked. But instead of an answer, the American battleship only pointed at what she was looking at, to which point, she pretty quickly located exactly what Arizona was pointing to.

"Is that.....?" Arizona trailed off. Whitney nodded.

"I'm assuming you already know that answer?" She asked, looking at the girl in the rearview mirror. Arizona only nodded slowly as she now found herself unable to tear her gaze away from the spot.

The object that had so very well caught the attention of Haruna and Arizona was indeed quite the sight. Even though Arizona had never laid her eyes on it before now, she had known it was there since being summoned.

Out on the water, as if it watching from a distance, was the Arizona memorial. A new load of tourists just being unloaded into the structure, it stood as a testament to the past. And thanks to the overcast, with no glare on the water's surface, Haruna and Arizona could clearly see the dark shape that sat under the structure. One of the barbettes just barely sticking out over the water in front of the structure, there was really no doubt of just what exactly they were looking at. And Arizona knew it.

"Arizona-San..... Is that.....?" Haruna trailed off. Arizona nodded in response as she looked at the structure.

"Yeah.... That's me... Or... Was me I guess is the proper way to say it..." She said after a moment, unable to tear her eyes away from the sight as the Jeep drove on, eventually turning to an angle where Arizona and Haruna could no longer see her former self. As they did so, Whitney looked at them again in the rearview mirror.

"You alright...?" Whitney asked, looking at the American battleship as Haruna leaned against Arizona. Arizona only wrapped an arm around Haruna, kissing the top of her head for a moment before nodding, looking back at Whitney. Eventually, she nodded in response.

"Yeah... I'll be fine..."
--------------------------------------------

"What are you doing?" Anya asked quietly, watching the two cruisers as she crossed her arms. Reno only gave a nervous chuckle in response as she stopped dead in her tracks, slowly turning to face her Admiral as she held firm to the camera in her hand.

"O-oh! Hi there A-admiral...." She said in a nervous tone, doing what she could not to seem too suspicious. But, that was already failing as the uniformed woman crossed her arms as she watched the girl with the eyes of a hawk.

"So? You want to tell me what you were planning to do with the camera?" She asked as the two stood in the hallway of the American dorm. Reno only took a brief glance down at the object in her hand before shaking her head.

"N-no.... I don't believe it warrants much discussion..." She said as she continued to try and stay calm. Anya gave a slow nod as she walked around the girl, now standing on her other side as she jerked a thumb backwards.

"It doesn't warrant much discussion huh? So the fact that you were heading to the bathroom with a camera like that one is nothing important? Nor the simple piece of information that I know for a fact that North and Wash are within said bathroom, taking showers? These don't happen to coincide do they?" Anya asked, arching a brow as she looked at the girl. Reno shook her head quickly.

"Nope! Not a chance! Those two don't have anything to do with it! I.... Was just going.... To test out the waterproof features on this thing! Yeah, that's it!" She said excitedly, holding the camera close to her as she smiled at the Admiral. "You're just worrying for no reason, ya silly thing." She waved a hand dismissively at Anya. The American Admiral slowly nodded at this before looking to Reno again.

Before she could do so however, a door opened behind them, admitting a towel wrapped Indiana into the Hallway. Yawning, she began to walk towards the door the two were blocking when their presence seemed to finally register to the battleship. Stopping a moment, she looked between the two before looking to Anya for an explanation.

"Reno. North Sisters showering. Bathroom. Camera. Enough said?" She asked, looking to the battleship. This in turn caused the South Dakota girl to glare at Reno as she nodded, keeping one hand on her towel as she walked up to Reno, who became increasingly nervous.

Indiana, not having the time or want to deal with a peeping tom like the one she was so evidently dealt with, walked up to Reno. Using her height as a battleship, she took no time in reaching around the cruiser and grasping the Camera, removing it from Reno's grasp as she pulled it from the girl.

"H-hey! That's mine!" Reno said in protest. Indiana nodded.

"I'm aware Reno. And you will get it back after we are done in the baths." She said in response. This is when Anya arched a brow at the battleship, stepping towards the woman.

"We? I know North and Wash are already inside. But besides you, who else is coming?" She asked, but soon got her answer as she heard the door to the dorms open. Turning, she found Ise and Hyuga taking amongst themselves, wrapped in towels as well as they walked down the hall. But, as they did so, they noticed the group of three within the hallway. Turning their heads to look at them, Ise gave a wave of greeting as they approached.

"Hey there.... Is there a party or what..?" She asked, somewhat jokingly. Hyuga only sighed in response as the two battleships looked to the three. Indiana only held up the camera as she pointed to Reno, needing to say nothing as the two Japanese women quickly caught on.

"Ohhh.... How lewd..." Ise mused. Hyuga only rolled her eyes as she looked to Reno.

"Pervert. Try and do that to Musashi. See how that ends up for you..." She mused. Reno only huffed as she crossed her arms in defiance. As she did so, another door opened behind them, admitting the three Casablanca Escort carriers, wrapped in towels as well as they walked towards the bathroom as well, but stopping when they came up on Ise and Hyuga. The two battleships stepping behind the three, the three carrier sisters looked confused.

"What's going on here...?" Bismarck Sea asked after a moment. Indiana only shook her head in response as she opened the door for the three.

"You three don't need to worry. Go on in. Wash and North are inside already." She said in response. The three escort carriers only looked at the five wide eyed for a moment before shrugging and running inside, soon a plethora of giggles breaking loose as you could hear the unsuspecting North and Wash trying to keep the three from falling and busting their heads open. Chuckling, Indiana closed the door as she looked to Anya.

"We would've invited you too Admiral, but I'd be halfway afraid to see what Mary's reaction would have been if she had ever found out that I had asked you to bathe with us..." She said after a moment. Anya only crossed her arms as she rolled her eyes.

"I am not the property of Maryland. I can make my own decisions without her consent. We aren't even together for crying out loud!" She said in response, shaking her head. Ise only chuckled at that before looking to Indiana again, nodding.

Doing the same, Indiana opened the door again, giving entrance to the two battleship sisters. Smiling, Indiana gave a wave to Anya and Reno before following them in, taking the camera with her as the door closed behind her. Watching the door a moment, Anya looked to Reno.

"So.... All spying aside, why did you try and take pictures of the North sisters while they were in the bathhouse?" She asked, looking at the girl. Reno shrugged.

"I.... I don't know why.... I was dreaming last night... And I was there.. And you were there... And so was Indiana, and everyone else... But... There was this girl... And she was there as well... But, I don't know why I gave it as much thought as I did..." She said after a moment. Anya only chuckled.

"So you tried to go and take pictures of naked battleships all for a crush you had on a girl in a dream? Did you at least get a name?" She asked. Reno shook her head.

"Don't know. I wasn't paying attention and it was maybe only mentioned once or twice. All I really remember is that her name started with an A...." She said. Anya nodded at that.

"Well... If it was this whole situation, just with her there as well instead of her being absent, then my guess, assuming the girl you dreamed about isn't completely made up, is a Ship Girl." She said. Reno looked at the Admiral in a curious manner.

"Really...? You think so..?" She asked. Anya nodded.

"It's my best bet. But since the only thing you know is that her name started with A, and you didn't get a type or class, it may be a little hard narrowing down who it could've been. Not to mention you don't even know what country she's from." She said in response. Reno nodded slowly.

"So... What should I do...?" She asked, looking at the Admiral. Anya only chuckled as she put a hand on Reno's head, ruffling her hair some as she answered.

"Draw. Try and remember what she looked like, and draw. Keeping track of that and more appearances she makes in your dreams could be helpful to figuring out who she is." She said in response to the question. Reno only nodded at that. Anya nodded as she continued. "And not only that, but if the girl you are dreaming about is indeed another Ship Girl that hasn't been summoned yet, then there's obviously some connection between those of you out here and those of them that are still within the gateway. And if we can figure out what that connection is, it may be the key in increasing the limit of how many Kanmusu we can have summoned or all together getting rid of it." She said in response. Reno arched a brow.

"You really think so?" Reno asked, looking at the woman. Anya shrugged, running a hand through her hair as she thought it over.

"Well, to be honest, I have no idea. But this is the first time I've heard about a ship girl dreaming about another one that has yet to be summoned. And if this does end up being the key to increasing the limit, then I'd rather not pass it up. Because if we get to Sixty American Ship Girls without seeing a hair of Pennsylvania, I don't know what I'm gonna tell Arizona..." She huffed. Reno only giggled at that.

"You really do care a lot for us don't you..?" She said in response. Anya arched a brow as she looked at the girl. Waiting a moment, she nodded at the question.

"Well, yeah, of course I do. It's kind of in my job description and there's not really any reason of why I can't do both equally well...." She said after thinking about it a moment. But as she looked back to Reno, she found that the light cruiser was scowling at her. "What...? What'd I say?" Anya asked carefully. Reno only crossed her arms as she looked away from the woman.

"I knew it was too good to be true. I thought you were a good person. That you actually cared about us.... But I guess you're just a piece of shit Admiral." Reno grumbled, still not looking at the woman. Anya's eyes widened, in somewhat anger, as she looked at the cruiser. Taking a step towards the girl, she crossed her arms as she glared at the girl.

"Excuse me, Ensign...?" Anya hissed in response. "You mind running that by me again?" She asked. Reno only looked at her with a disinterested eye before sighing.

"I said. That you. Are. A. Piece. Of. Shit. Admiral. Like all the way down there at Shit tier. You know? I'm surprised they even let you into the Navy with such lack of skills you show...." She mused. Anya only glared at the girl as she took hold of one of Reno's arms.

"And just where the hell did this come from? I know I said caring about you girls is in the description, but that doesn't mean I'm only doing it because my job tells me to!" Anya replied. Reno only giggled.

"I know." She said before pulling the collar of Anya's uniform forward, pulling the woman closer to her as she locked lips with the Admiral as she held her still.

Anya, in all of her command, was trying desperately to process what exactly had just happened. Taking a moment, her eyes wide, she began to pull away from the light cruiser. Or tried to. But she found that her strength was nothing in comparison to that of which Reno had at her disposal.

After a moment, Reno finally released the woman with a giggle, her eyes sort of hazy as she stood against the wall. But before Anya could say anything in response, whether in anger or anything else, Reno darted down the hall and quickly out the door before she could get an earful by her commander.

Anya, watching her go, seethed in anger a moment, before recomposing herself as she began to walk down the hall and eventually out of the dorms. But, had she been paying attention to her surroundings, she would have noticed the door to Arizona's room opened only a crack as the glint of a camera lens watched her go. Taking a moment, the person behind the camera chuckled to their self as they began to go through the pictures they had just taken.
--------------------------------------------

"The Island Flower....?" Arizona asked in a questioning manner as she looked up at the building as the jeep tried to find a parking place. Whitney nodded as she took her own glance at the towering hotel that sat before them, overlooking the ocean as the clouds overhead hid the sun from direct view.

"Yeah, it's a pretty popular hotel here in Honolulu. Pretty pricey too for anything more than a night or two.." Whitney said in response as she kept her eyes out for a parking spot she could nab. Arizona narrowed her eyes at the woman as she looked at her in the rearview mirror.

"And why exactly are we at a hotel...?" She asked, watching the woman like a hawk. Whitney, still looking for a parking spot, was unaware of the stare she was receiving. After a moment, preparing to answer, she looked at the rearview mirror, but she found herself somewhat surprised at being glared at the by the Super Dreadnought. Staring back at a moment, processing what the woman had just asked, Whitney shook her head in a sudden panic.

"Nononono! We aren't here to use the hotel itself." Whitney said, shaking her head. "We're here for lunch. The hotel itself has a shopping mall within with a couple of really nice restaurants inside. That's where we're going." She said, bringing the jeep to a halt as they sat in the middle of the road, waiting for a van in front of them to pull out of their parking spot. Arizona slowly nodded at this and took another glance up at the rather dominating structure along with Haruna. After a moment, Arizona looked back out of the front of the Jeep, where the Van in front of them was just pulling away from their former parking space, leaving Whitney free to take it for her own. Carefully pulling into the spot, she sighed as she went about putting the Jeep into park and removing the keys from the ignition. But just as she had placed her hand on the key, her phone began to ring.

Arching a brow, she grabbed hold of the item from the cup holder from where she had put it when she initially got into the jeep. Swiping, she answered as she put the phone up to her ear.

"Dr? What is it?" She asked with no time at all. Arizona and Haruna could barely make out the other woman's voice on the other end, but they could hear her. And as she did so, they watched as Whitney became increasingly panicked from the looks of it.

"What do you mean, they're gone?!" Whitney asked, immediately gaining the full attention of Arizona and Haruna. "How do you lose two destroyers when the whole fleet is in the same room as them!?" She demanded, practically screaming into the phone, only serving to increase Arizona and Haruna's nerves.

"Who is it?" Haruna asked quietly, leaning towards Whitney. Whitney placed a hand over the receiver as she looked to Haruna.

"Forrest and Fitch." She said in response before turning her attention back to the conversation. Haruna looked at Arizona in turn in a worried fashion, prompting Arizona to half sigh, half chuckle in response.

"So you have no idea where they went...? Wait.... Their repairs were finished...? They had six hours left between them! They what....?" Whitney asked, talking into the phone as she turned her attention on full. Haruna only chuckled slightly as she readjusted her feet, trying to stretch them when she kicked something rather bulky.

Looking down at the floor of the jeep, she furrowed her brow as she undid her seatbelt. Stepping out of the doorless back of the jeep, the bundled object sitting on the floor in front of her seat finally registered to her vision, prompting Arizona to watch the girl with relative confusion.

"Haruna?" Arizona asked. But the Japanese battleship was more than well enough invested to give a verbal answer as she went about inspecting the bundle on the floor. Finding the edge of the black tarp that wrapped the object, she lifted the side up as she peered at the item under said tarp. Or, items to be exact. No, not even that. More like persons to be straight as Haruna laid eyes on the two missing destroyers. Wrapped in each other's arms, the two of the hyper six had dozed off while the driving had been ongoing. Looking at the two, they seemed to be dressed in their own new outfits as well, they seemed to comfortable despite their current sleeping arrangement.

Chuckling to herself, Haruna preceded to peel back back the tarp to where Arizona could see just what exactly was under the tarp. And as Arizona gained full sight of the two under the tarps, she stared only a moment, before chuckling, stretching her arms as she undid her seatbelt. Reaching forward, she tapped Whitney on the shoulder, bringing the latter's attention away from the frantic phonecall.

Looking at the battleship through the rearview mirror, Whitney arched a brow at the woman. In return, Arizona made sure the woman could see her hand. And in turn, the fingers she was pointing with. Watching her in thought for a moment, Whitney turned herself half way in her seat as she craned her neck so that she could see what Arizona was pointing to. Finding the sight for a moment, she sighed in relief as she turned her attention back to the phone.

"Hey, Doc, we found em." Whitney said after a moment. And from the sounds of it, Rushman had not been expecting it as Arizona and Haruna went about picking the two destroyers up off of the Jeep's floor, careful not to wake them.

Walking around to Haruna's side of the Jeep, Arizona carefully took Fitch as Haruna held the destroyer out to her before taking Forrest into her own arms, the two holding them like they were their own children as they looked to Whitney, who was still talking on the phone. Arizona chuckled as she felt Fitch's soft breaths against the side of her neck as she girl rested her head on the battleship's shoulder.

"Uhh... No, we'll be able to handle them. As long as you're sure their repairs got finished, then I'll keep track of them. More the merrier right?" Whitney asked. Listening to one last thing from Rushman, Whitney nodded for the final time. "Sounds good Doc. Bye for now." Whitney said before ending the call. Sighing, she opened the door as she looked at the two battleships.

"Surprise. We're babysitting apparently..." She chuckled. Arizona and Haruna only laughed as she fixed their grips on the girls as they looked back at the sailor.

"It wouldn't be the first time..." Arizona mused. "So, did the doctor say how these two got their repairs finished when they still have over two hours each?" She asked. Whitney nodded as she pocketed her phone and keys as she stepped out of the jeep.

"Yeah... Apparently, the repair buckets had a longer lasting effect on the docks than what the R&D team had apparently expected. These two, figuring, had gotten into a game of tag with one another. Apparently, a few minutes after Haruna had left her bath, the Fitch had jumped in trying to hide from Forrest. Forrest in turn heard the splash and jumped in after her. And in turn, two freshly repaired Gleaves Class destroyers. Ready for combat. Or, in this case, to run into the locker room and get dressed before hightailing it outside and into the jeep where we found them." She explained. The two battleships nodded in response at that as Arizona smirked at the woman.

"So... What I'm hearing is... Is that if a certain sailor sitting on her phone in the Jeep had been paying attention to what was going on, then we wouldn't have had hitchhikers is what I'm hearing..." She mused. Whitney only scowled in response.

"Well.. I mean... If you want to put it that way.. Then sure, I guess..." She huffed. Arizona only laughed as she jerked her head towards the Hotel.

"Shall we then?" She asked. Whitney nodded as she lead the way for the two, the three and their sleeping charges making their way across the massive parking lot as they made their way towards the front of the building.

As they did so, Whitney watched as a couple of the doormen gave friendly waves to the approaching group, one in particular, began to approach them.

"Greetings. Welcome to the Island Flower. Guests or Visitors?" He asked, glaring a glance at the five. Whitney nodded.

"Guests. We're here to get some lunch and maybe look around some." She said in response. The man nodded as he gestured to the door.

"Very well. On behalf of our guests staying here, we ask that you not go above the first floor since you are not staying here for more than a few hours. Besides that, be courteous to other visitors and no problems please. Other than that, enjoy your visit to the Island Flower." He said in response. Whitney smiled as she nodded, gesturing for the two battleships to follow. Nodding, they began to follow Whitney as they doorman tipped his cap to the three as they walked on.

Eventually reaching the door, Arizona and Haruna expected for Whitney to reach for the door. But just found themselves surprised when the door opened on it's own, admitting the five inside as they were greeted with the view of the main lobby.

Looking around, they were greeted with the sight of dozens of people going to and from, going every which way. Various groups of children running around, either playing tag or just playing games were spread among, either neither their parents or moving away from their parents, much to the latter's chagrin and annoyance.

Chuckling, Arizona and Haruna continued to follow after Whitney, careful not to drop the two sleeping destroyers as they made sure not to trip over the kids running to and from. But before they were given much more of a chance to do so, Whitney stopped mid stride as she turned to look at the two battleships.

"Okay. To break it down, there's five different restaurants that serve the hotel. One is guests only, and it's the fanciest of the five so eating there isn't even to be considered. I'm gonna go check in at the one I was planning to see so you two can go look around for a bit if you want. I'll come find you after I've learned what I need to. And to do that, here." She said, reaching into a pocket and pulling out a second phone, handing it it to Arizona. The battleship nodded as she pocketed the device before looking back to Whitney.

"You sure that's ok?" She asked. Whitney nodded, giving them a wave as she began to walk away.

"It'll be fine." She said before walking down a corridor, towards another part of the Hotel. Arizona only nodded slowly before looking to Haruna.

"Well... Where should we go...?" Arizona asked. Haruna shrugged as she looked around.

"I believe the best course of action would be to awaken Forrest-Chan and Fitch-Chan." She said, looking to Forrest who was still sleeping the day away. Arizona nodded as she looked around, eventually finding an un-occupied bench that they could take a sit on. Nodding her head, Haruna got the message. Walking over, they took seats as they gently moved the two destroyers as they sat them on the bench between the two of them.

"Hey, Fitch.." Arizona said, slightly shaking the smaller girl. "Why don't you wake up...?" She asked. The smaller girl didn't stir as Haruna tried similar tactics with Forrest.

After a few more un-rewarding moments of this talk, Arizona finally got some movement out of Fitch. Smiling, Arizona shook her once more for good measure, an act that seemed to finally snap Fitch awake. Rubbing her eyes, she took one glance at Arizona, and then their surroundings, before leaning against Arizona again as she attempted to fall asleep. All while she a grin on her face. Arizona only chuckled as she began to attack the destroyer with tickles, something that seemed to be well received if the squealing laughter as a result was anything to go by.

Haruna, watching the two with amusement of her own, only laughed to herself as she rubbed Forrest's arm in a gentle way, waking the destroyer far slower and easier than the path Arizona had taken with her sister.

As passerby's spared them a glance, watching with careful eyes or gentle smiles at the interaction between the four, the people passing by couldn't help but think a family. The two older ones clearly as mothers of sorts, the two younger ones seemed to be clearly enjoying themselves.

Eventually, the two battleships had woken the two destroyers to substantial levels, where the two were moving and looking around on their own free will with no help from the two watching battleships. As they did so, Arizona chuckled as the two destroyers finally took a look around at their surroundings.

"Woah...... Where are we...?" Fitch asked as she and Forrest stood, looking at the massive room they found themselves in at the moment. Looking around a moment, they turned to the two battleships as they stood, Arizona stretching her arms for good measure.

"We're at the Island Flower. It's a hotel in Honolulu. Surprised you didn't know that when you snuck into the Jeep." Arizona said, looking down at the two. The two destroyer sisters only giggled nervously in response, not meeting the woman's eyes directly. Instead, they only decided to take another look at the room they were in. As they did so, Forrest spotted one of the main hallways leading to another part of the public areas for the Hotel.

"Where does that go?" Forrest asked, pointing to the hallway. Arizona followed her point and shrugged.

"It leads into the Hotel. Probably to the shopping part of the building. Why? Why do you ask?" Arizona said, not bothering to look at the destroyers as she watched the hallway.

Forrest only looked at the hallway for a moment longer before looking to Fitch. Meeting her sister's gaze, Fitch made silent conversation with her sister. After she had done so, she took a look at the hallway for herself, and the crowd of people going each way.

Looking back to Forrest, Fitch nodded. The two sister's nodding in unison, they looked back up to their battleship minders. Who had just glanced down at the two unknowingly.

"What?" Arizona asked after a moment. The two destroyers needed nothing else to go on.

They immediately turned, taking one last glance at the hallway, before putting one foot towards the corridor in a sly motion.

And then they bolted.

Arizona only sighed as she watched the two run off, Haruna giving a slight giggle in accordance with it. Watching them go a moment, disappearing into the crowds of people, Arizona looked to Haruna.

"We should probably follow them..." She suggested, holding out a hand to the Japanese woman. Haruna only nodded as she took Arizona's hand within her own as the two began to walk across he massive lobby, heading for the very same corridor that Forrest and Fitch had so quickly vanished into.

Moving into the crowd, Arizona and Haruna were greeted with quite the sight. The first thing they noticed was the roof, which had Led's and a dark background to mimic the night sky. Not only that, but it seemed to be moving across, giving the view that they were looking at it live, even though they were inside.

As the corridor opened up into the room, it looked like they had stepped right onto a city block during the night life. Looking around, the two battleships found various neon signs and advertisements as they were greeted by the smell of various plants spread around. Continuing to walk in, the looked around at the various people and shops.

"Where do you think they went?" Haruna asked after a moment, looking to Arizona. The battleship took a moment to look around before spying one store in particular.

A fairly well advertised candy shop. And in the window? Written in bright neon blue sign, flashing on and off every other second? It was the word Free.

Free Candy. Two Hyperactive Destroyers on the prowl for trouble? Easy guess. Arizona chuckled at the question.

"My guess is the Candy Shop. Not only that, but I planted a fairy on Fitch. Should be easy to spot em." She said, looking to Haruna. The Japanese battleship nodded as the two made their way through the crowd towards the store.

Stepping into the shop, amidst the various bright colors decorating the walls, and the sounds of various children running around with various packages of candy, Arizona and Haruna were presented with the overwhelming smell of sweets. Taking a moment to adjust, they began to look around for their missing charges. And soon, they found them.

The two destroyers were standing at the front counter, clearly taking advantage of the Free Candy special if anything was to go by as they continued to point at various items behind the glass window. Which, in turn was making the poor attendee's job tasked with taking care of them that much harder as she was basically throwing heaps of everything straight into the bag. Chuckling, Arizona and Haruna made their way over to the two amidst their pillaging of the local candy supply.

Stepping up behind the two, Arizona kneeled down behind as she got a good look at just what the two had relieved the store of from its counter display. And Everything didn't do it justice as the woman had begun to load a second bag of the stuff, now looting the stuff on the wall behind the counter. Looking at he Cashier's name tag, Brittany it was, Arizona chuckled, standing again.

"Hey, uh... Brittany, you can stop letting them run you out of your supply now..." Arizona said, causing Brittany to stop mid grab as Forrest and Fitch jumped slightly from the voice.

"Really?" The young girl asked in a hopeful voice, looking at the battleship with hopeful eyes. Arizona nodded, much to the annoyance of the two destroyers in front of the two.

"Oh come on Arizona! We were just getting to the good stuff!" Fitch protested. Arizona furrowed her brow as she looked at the two in front of her.

"How much of this stuff have you actually had before?" She asked, kneeling down to the two again, looking between them. The two destroyers suddenly seemed unable to meet her gaze as Forrest puffed out her cheeks, crossing her arms in defiance.

"None. So what?" She asked, looking miffed as she glared at Arizona. The battleship only chuckled as she nodded, standing again.

"My point exactly." She said before looking back to Brittany, shrugging slightly as she gestured to the bags. "Mostly, because I don't want to make your work harder by having to put all of this away, I'll take it for them. Should've asked this first, but it's Free right..?" She asked. Brittany nodded with a smile.

"All of it. But uh.... Are those two gonna be able to eat all of it without getting sick...? There's like 25 pounds of candy in those bags... That's gotta be like... Seriously unhealthy..." She said, glancing down at the bags and then to the destroyers before looking back to Arizona. The American battleship nodded as she reached forward and took the bags with one hand.

"Yeah... I'm not gonna let them eat it all in one sitting, mind you. But I think they'll be fine. Plus, if I'm managing their intake of it at the moment, there'll be more than enough for them to share with their sisters when they get back. Won't there?" Arizona asked for good measure, looking down at the two as Haruna giggled. Fitch and Forrest, suddenly excited at the idea of bringing their treasure home to their sisters, suddenly smiled as they nodded at the question. Arizona smiled as she looked back up to Brittany, who nodded in response.

"Alright... If you say so..." She nodded. "But I do have a question for you personally, Arizona..." She said, somewhat hesitating to say the woman's name. The battleship looked at the girl in curiosity as she tilted her head.

"Hmm? What you got?" She asked. Brittany nodded in response as she looked at the woman.

"Are you... Named after the Arizona...?" She asked slowly, not sure if she should continue the conversation. "Sorry if I'm striking any sour notes.... But I wasn't sure if you were named Arizona because your parents lived in Arizona... Or you had family that used to serve on board her..." She trailed off, suddenly able to finish her statement. Arizona looked at the girl for a moment before chuckling, nodding at the question.

"Yeah. Something along those lines..." She mused, nodding. Brittany looked relieved as she smiled back at the girl.

"Well, alright then. You ladies have fun and enjoy your time here." She said, giving a wave to the four. Arizona nodded as she took the bags as Haruna took her other hand, the two leading the destroyers out of the shop as they stepped back out into the night like atmosphere. After they were a good distance away from the shop, Arizona turned to face the destroyers as she opened the bag.

"One each. No more. Whitney's seeing about getting us a place to eat so don't make it harder for her." She said, eyeing the two. Forrest and Fitch only nodded as they fished around in the bags for a treat. Forrest came out with a Kit-Kat bar. Fitch came out with a stick of starbursts. Arizona nodded in confirmation as she closed the bag again as she looked to the two.

"Alright. We still have some time to kill. If you two will slow down to where Haruna and me can keep track of you, we'll go to any store you want." She said. The two destroyers nodded as they opened their treats as they began to lead the two battleships along the walkway of stores, occasionally dipping into the ones that interested them.
--------------------------------------------

"There you four are. I was wondering if you had gotten lost." Whitney said as the four approached the entrance of the restaurant. Arizona only chuckled as she nodded, coming to a stance next to the woman.

"Just about with these two leading the way." Arizona chuckled as she looked down at Forrest and Fitch, who were talking with one another as they treated themselves to another round of candy. Fitch had secured a Payday bar as Forrest had gotten ahold of a packet of Skittles. Whitney only nodded methodically as she looked to the massive bag of Candy Arizona was toting around.

"And that...? What's all that about?" She asked. Arizona only chuckled.

"Three words. Destroyers. And Free Candy." She said. Whitney only laughed as she nodded.

"Point taken. Anyways, I decided on this place. It's got a wide variety of food and I didn't really know what you four liked the best..." She said. Arizona nodded as Haruna looked at the place before looking back to Whitney in a questioning manner.

"Is this place gonna have enough food... To feed all of us..?" She asked. Whitney only smiled as she nodded.

"It's all you can eat. Ranging from barbecue to Seafood, it's all up for grabs. But I went a step farther and requested a private room. So it'll just be us five if that's what you're worried about." Whitney explained, hand on her hip as she looked at the Battleship. Haruna only returned a small smile as she nodded in understanding. And just as she did so, the waitress presumably taking care of their group appeared at the podium, looking to Whitney.

"Hawkson Party?" She asked with a smile. Whitney nodded as she looked at the four.

"Follow the nice lady." She said, waving her arms in a dramatic manner. The waitress only chuckled as Forrest and Fitch suddenly appeared in front of the woman, saluting as they waited for her to lead the way. Laughing again, the woman began to lead the group of five through the restaurant, towards the back of the dining establishment.

Exactly four and a half minutes later, the waitress lead the five to the other side of the the place. Standing in front of a set of blacked out windows, she reached forward and began to slide one to the side, giving view to their presumable table.

Looking out over the beach on the backside of the resort, the table sat in the middle of a private patio. Concealed from the others on either side of it, the table sat in total privacy from the inside of the restaurant as well. The only sounds that could be heard distinctly were the sounds of the ocean ahead and the beach goers down below. The four warships only looked out in awe at the view, Arizona dropping the bags of candy off next to the table as the four stepped up to the railing, Arizona's hand subconsciously finding Haruna's side as she pulled the battleship to her as Forrest and Fitch hoisted themselves up to get a look for their own eyes.

Smiling, Whitney watched the four for a moment before looking to the waitress. "Three bottles of red wine and a bottle of apple juice if you would..." She requested. The waitress silently nodded as she stepped back into the restaurant, sliding the dark windowed door close behind her as Whitney crossed her arms, walking up to come to a stop next to the four warships. "What do you think?" She asked, taking a sidelong glance at the four. The four only nodded absentmindedly, even Fitch and Forrest seeming to be taken by the view presented before them. Whitney only nodded in response. "Understood." She mused, turning around as she leaned against the railing backwards, letting the ocean breeze blow against her back.
