Party!
So I have some characters speaking Russian in here, so instead of calling it Russian, I called it Oblastian, Russian for region. I mainly use Google translate for the Russian bits 'cause I can barely speak Russian, and I doubt they will ever say koshka (cat)
"Hello! You ready to start our journey?" A Mudkip jumped in front of me. It jumped on top of my head, and jumped behind me. I quickly turned around. It had jumped on my cousin Esfir's shoulder. "Давно не виделись!"
"я знаю!" I replied. Esfir had moved around a lot. She was born is the Oblast region, and stayed there until she was seven. Then she came to Kalos for half a year, then moved to Hoenn, specifically Mauville City. During school, I learned to speak Oblastian, so we would often talk over the phone. Even though she can speak perfect Unovian, which is the most common language, even outside of Unova, she still prefers Oblastian. 'Long time, no see!' Is what she told me. My reply was, 'I know!'
"Good to see you didn't forget all your Oblastian!" I nodded, knowing I am a bit rusty. "The journey will be awesome!" She flipped her pastel pink hair, before tying it in a ponytail. Esfir will be traveling with me, and is torn between becoming a coordinator or a performer. She flashed some sort of pass in front of me.
"What's that?" I asked.
"My contest pass!" She squealed. "I got it from Lisia while I was preparing for my journey by shopping in Slateport!" She handed it to me. It read, 'Hoenn Contest Pass, Trainer: Esfir Oshiro, Home Region: Oblast, Received From: Lisia' It sparkled in the light.
"Давайте наш первый бой , прямо сейчас!" (Lets have our first battle, right now!) Esfir let Mudkip hop off her shoulder, and bounce towards the battlefield.
"Конечно! Но я не буду сдерживать!" (Sure! But I won't hold back!) Fennekin jumped off my shoulder, and bounced off before standing in front of Mudkip.
"Alright! Mudkip, use bubble!" She smirks at me. She does have an advantage.
"Jump!" Fennekin was barely able to avoid the string of bubbles launched at her.
"Nice job! Training with Eevee and Audino really got you in the swing of things. Sorry, but this is our win! Muddy Water!"
"Counter with tackle!" Before Mudkip could release much water, Fennekin pounced on her, putting her off balance. Unfourtunately, Fennekin still took damage. "While she's off balance use Howl!" Fennekin opened her mouth and howled at Mudkip. This didn't do much damage, but at least she remained off balance.
Esfir bit her lip. "Not so fast! Use double team!" Suddenly, ten other Mudkip appeared. In Fennekins shock, Mudkip stood up, and the illusions began dancing around Fennekin. She must have done some training.
"Use ember and twirl around!" Some of the illusions began to disappear.
"Muddy Water!" The Mudkip jumped up and began to attack, but Fennekin jumped on instinct. Slowly, more of the illusions began to disappear. Mudkip must've barely learned how to execute Double Team, because that was quite a short time to have a Double Team last, and not many illusions to make up for it. I took advantage of the moment.
"Finish this with tackle!" Fennekin jumped up before pouncing at Mudkip, who was too surprised to counter it. In the end, Mudkip had fainted.
"Возвращение Mudkip ! Это был удивительный бой Kandi!" (Return Mudkip! That was an amazing battle Kandi!)
"I didn't know you had trained so much Esie!" I told her. Within a week, she could effectively use Double Team with a young pokemon, that was impressive.
"I mainly trained for contests and showcases, but mastering a move sometimes means learning how to get the most out of it in battle, even if that's not your thing."
"Good job on your first win Kandi! But remember, you still have a whole birthday party, the journey starts tommorrow." Noble reminded me, one of her roommates from Lumiose, Sofiya, gave me high five. We went to the backyard.
There were a lot of people. I guess a lot of them are either famous people who know my dad, or his colleagues, while a few of them were my own friends.
"Surprise!" A certain blonde haired coordinator jumped in front of me.
"Stella! I guess you've been here for a while, huh. I see Solrock is doing well." I told her.
"You bet she is! And guess what! The contest and showcase competitions are coming up! And, May, Drew, Solidad, Serena, Shauna, Aria, and a few other coordinators and performers are coming.
"Exactly how did my parents do that?" I asked. Stella just shrugged her shoulders.
"Kandi take this, it's like a performer/coordinator dress! It matches Esfir's too!" Tracy shoved a dress at me. She was holding a Bagon in one arm, and had a Linoone wrapped around her neck. "Just so we're clear, this isn't your only present." I thanked her, and turned my head towards a small stage. Then I heard a voice I recognized only in TV. Pierre the announcer.
"May all coordinators and performers competing for either the ribbon or key please come back stage!" He called. Me, Esfir, Luna, and Stella, all ran up, while Reese and Tracy stayed behind to cheer for us.
Backstage was a little section of land sectioned off by curtains, with outdoor bathroom stalls for changing rooms. We went in them and changed to our dresses. A lady in the corner of the area let us pick seals for our poke balls.
"We we'll start with the contest portion. Our first coordinator, Esfir! The birthday girl's cousin!" There was a TV in the back so we could all watch the performances. They were really trying, huh.
Esfir stepped up onto the stage.
"Go Mudkip!" She yelled, throwing the ball into the air.
"Mudkip!" As Mudkip was released, she was surrounded by water droplets. I could hear the crowds excitement.
"Хорошо! Давайте сделаем из debut с Double Team !" (Okay! Let's make our debut with Double Team!) This time, only two illusions were created. They formed a circle and began to dance. "Now use bubble, then hit the bubbles with tackle!" The Mudkips stopped in a circle and proceeded to do as they were told. As a result, blue sparkles glittered around them, and the illusions seemed to evaporate. That's new, changing the circumstance of Double Team, with nothing more then training. If she was planning on training Mudkip other ways to change its Double Team, it wouldn't need to know how to make more illusions, 'cause that would make it hard to do the tricks.
"We're just getting started! Bubble!" Mudkip looked up and allowed a wave of bubbles to explode out of her mouth. "Then, Muddy Water!" Now, a wave a brown, dirty water washed over the the bubble, and the muddy water began to bubble. "Finish with Howl!" Mudkip looked up and released a deafening howl. This howl splattered the water into tiny brown sparkles. Mudkip bowed.
"An amazing performance from Esfir!" Pierre called from his stand. After a wave of applause, me and some other coordinators went. Eventually, everyone had had their turn.
"Now for the deciding match! What'll it be?" He opened up an envelope and peered in at the results. "May and Esfir!" He called.
Eventually, we had finished the contest, the showcase, and the battle tournament. I am a little blown away by the effort they put into the party. I went over and sat by Lilly, who was drinking tea, ignoring the chaos around her.
"Hey Lil! Whatcha doing?" I asked her. She peered down at me.
"Drinking tea, why ask?" She set the cup down on its matching saucer and stood up, before proceeding to stretch.
"Just how long have you been sitting here drinking tea, exactly?" I questioned, peering through her glasses to see if any trace of uncertainty lay there.
"An hour, this is the twentieth cup, good stuff it is." She peered down at the cup and moved the cup by its handle, slowly in a circular motion, as if to show me how amazing it was for her with that little motion. She did have an addiction to tea, so I guess this is normal to her.
"'Good job!' says Solrock enthusiastically" Reese came up to me, followed by Solrock, Lunatone, the rest of the girls, and her own three pokemon, Solosis, Drifblim, and Inkay. "Lunatone says 'I'm glad you didn't kill yourself accidentally.' in a nonchalant manner." Reese's way of describing how the pokemon talk to us, can make her sound like a narrator who doesn't care to add enthusiasm to her words.
"Heh, well let's finish this party! I'm dying for that journey!" My friends agreed with me.
We had fun for the rest of the day before going to be bed.
I'm so excited for tomorrow!
