Ash's Pov.

"Why am I going to do, Mark?" I asked.
He said,"You know what your going to do right now? Your going to calm down. This is what we wanted, right?"
I said,"No now!" I put a hand on my head. I said,"They want Kanan. I'm not going to let them hurt him."
"Well, your not getting our child killed eaither!" Mark yelled.

"I'm not allowing that eaither!" I snapped back at him.

I said,"I'm not letting anyone else die.... I won't allow it."
He said,"I don't need you to die."

He said,"I didn't have my mother in my life and..... That's what made my dad who he is. I don't want to be like him, I don't want our child to be raised like me!" I said,"That's all your decision on how you treat them."

He said,"Then I guess I'm the one who needs you!!!"

The room fell slient.

I said,"That's where your wrong."
He said,"I'm going to have Sabine or Daiden always keeping an eye on you."

I said,"Your not my father, Mark. I can protect myself!"
He said,"Sometimes I really regret not letting you die!"

I said,"You don't mean that! I know you don't!"
He said,"Well I do."

I shook my head and said,"Now you really are trying to act like your father. I'll leave you if you wish I was dead."

I pushed him out of my path.
He said,"Ash, I didn't mean it." He grabbed my arm.
I didn't want to look at him because I knew that I would let my tears out.
"Ash, please..... You know I didn't mean it. I'm sorry, Astrid." He said.

I opened the door.

The words "Keep Safe" where in red in the hall.

I took a step back bumping into Mark.
The lights went out.

The one emergency light turned on.
The words lilt up.

I closed the door.
Mark faced me towards him.
"I'm sorry.... You know I am. I'm keeping you safe. That's the way it's going to be for a while now."
He pulled me closer to him. I felt my tears slip from my eyes,
He wiped them with his hand. He smiled.
"I got... okay." He said. I nodded and smiled. I hugged him and he hugged me back.

"Stay behind me." He said.
