EVALINE.
And she looked at me with laughing eyes and I knew.

Julie Moore laughed, throwing her head back, a rich laugh spilling from her lips. "Jesus," she sighed, wiping a tear from her eye. "That's fucking crazy." She tipped the bottle of beer into her mouth, finishing its contents. The two girls were teetering that fine line between tipsy and drunk, and everything they said to each other sounded hilarious in their ears.
"It was crazy," Evaline agreed, smiling as Julie shook her head in disbelief. Her laughter faded into a smaller smile, something nostalgic. She had a faraway look in her eyes that made Evaline want to see what had enraptured her so, to be caught in her memories with her. After all that time, all Julie had to do was look her in the eye and she had Evaline.
"I've missed you, Evaline."
Julie looked at her, eyes intense, a finger tracing the rim of her beer bottle. She reached out and clasped Evaline's hand tightly, interweaving her hands in hers, thumbs drawing circles on the palm of her hand. When Evaline didn't turn away, she inched closer, never once breaking eye contact. She drew up Eva's hand and placed a finger in between her lips, sucking softly, nibbling, brown eyes more than just warm, but hot. Intense.
Evaline wasn't sure if it's the liquor, or Julie Moore's tongue, but whatever it was, warm pools of desire swelled in the pits of Evaline's stomach, her toes curled, the space between her legs grew warm and wet.
Bodies were such traitorous things.
Julie leaned forward, and Evaline's fingers were replaced by her mouth. Julie fell on Evaline, her legs falling to either side in a straddle, trapping Evaline under her. Her lips broke away from Evaline's and found its way to her ear, and to her neck, and soon the layers of clothes that seemed so hot and heavy were peeled off, one by one. And Julie Moore was everywhere, the swell of her breasts, the soft skin of her inner thigh, the valley of the space between her thighs.
And lips replaced fingers and fingers replaced lips.
And as they touched each other to the sound of their thrumming hearts and muffled groans, they forgot the world existed behind them. In the comfort of each other's bodies, they'd found solace. But reality was a bitter thing, and no kiss or touch could wipe away the sound of the world clawing back towards them.
