January 26th, 2022

Today is a usual but busy work day in Washington DC for Kamala, Doug, Joe and Jill!

Jill is teaching in person at Northern Virginia Community College, where she has worked for many years while Joe is busy at his office in the White House while watching Jacob.

Kamala and Doug kissed each other goodbye at around 8:30am after breakfast. Kamala also gives Devi lots of kisses before leaving.

Ever since Devi has been born, Kamala and Doug do not use a nanny but they watch Devi themselves. Kamala watches him if she isn't busy or traveling and the same with Doug. But due to Kamala's schedule as Vice President, Doug is usually watching him, making him a stay at home dad which is something he hasn't been before!

Kamala wanted to get to her office to look at her paperwork she has gotten throughout the last two weeks or so!

Kamala and Joe have been trying their hardest to pass Voting Rights legislation but of course republicans want to not vote on it and refuse any compromise.

At 10:15am, Kamala and Joe will receive the President's Daily Brief in the Oval Office which they do every single day!

It is now 2:30pm, and Doug and Devi are enjoying the afternoon together. Devi just finished his afternoon nap and Doug is now feeding him some baby foods!

Devi has been enjoying baby led weaning with many foods and he also really enjoys being fed baby foods and pouches!

Right now, Doug is feeding Devi some Gerber Pear, Carrots and Peas!

"Here comes the train! Choo choo! Choo choo!" Doug says as Devi smiles and giggles happily.

Doug then gives Devi another bite and Devi happily takes, really enjoying it!

"Mmm! Is it yummy? Mmm!" Doug says to Devi in a babyfied voice.

"Baaa baaa!" Devi says as he smiles at Doug and wants another bite of food.

"You want some more? I'm so glad you like it!" Doug says to Devi, feeding him another bite.

"Mmmmm!" Devi says with a cheeky grin at Doug.

After Devi finishes his small can of baby food, Doug feeds him a bottle of breast milk to make sure he is full before they go out to visit Kamala at work!

Doug knows Kamala isn't busy at work right now and will be in her office, so it is the perfect time to visit with her! Plus, Doug wants to get Devi out of the house.

Doug and Devi go upstairs to get Devi dressed and ready to go out.

"Do you wanna go see Mama at work? Do you wanna go bye byes?" Doug asks Devi as he holds him in front of him and Devi babbles happily.

"Okay! Let's get dressed!" Doug says laying Devi on her changing table to change his diaper and clothes!

"Hey Devi! Do you wanna wear this hat that sissy made for you?" Doug asks Devi as he holds up the monkey hat that Ella recently crocheted.

Devi smiles as he heard his big sister's name! Devi has a very close relationship with his big brother Cole and big sister Ella, but Ella and Devi have a close bond.

Ella always wanted to be a big sister and finally twenty two later, it happened!

Devi happily babbles and Doug carefully puts the monkey hat on Devi's head. 

"You look so cute! Mama is going to love you in this outfit, huh? Oh you need some socks!" Doug says as he pulls a pair of socks out of the drawer.

"Aaaaaa!" Devi babbles with a big smile.

"Are you excited to go? Me too!" Doug says picking up Devi and grabs the diaper bag to pack up with diapers, an extra outfit, and bottles!

"We just need to fill your bottles up with milk, and then we can go!" Doug says as Devi babbles happily. 

Doug and Devi go downstairs and Doug fills a few bottles up with Kamala's breast milk she has been stocking up in the freezer for days when Doug has Devi or when they go out.

*The diaper bag*

"Okay! The diaper bag is all packed! Are you ready to see Mama?" Doug asks Devi in a babyfied voice causing Devi to smile.

"Aaaaa!" Devi yells happily at Doug.

Doug and Devi leave the Second Family residence and they walk over to the White House and to the Eisenhower Executive Office Building in the West Wing!

While Doug and Devi walk over to the White House, many Secret Service agents walk with Doug and Devi making sure they stay safe.

The press begins to take pictures and shout at Doug and Devi, wanting to see Devi and talk with Doug.

"Ba baa!" Devi says as he giggles and Doug smiles.

"Well, Devi. It's time for your closeup again." Doug says as he and Devi walk over to the press.

"Hello, everyone! And do you wanna say, Devi? Say hi!" Doug says as he waves Devi's hand.

"Devi's outfit looks so cute today, Mr. Second Gentleman." A female reporter says to Doug.

"Thank you so much! My mother Barb got this outfit for him right before he was born and it finally fits!" Doug says as he smiles at Devi.

"What brings you two here today?" A male reporter asks Doug.

"Well, Madam Vice President isn't too busy today, so Devi and I are gonna pay her a fun visit! Right, bud?" Doug says to Devi.

Devi happily babbles, agreeing with his Daddy causing the press to awe loudly.

"We plan on posting some cute photos later on today, so keep an eye out for them. Devi, do you wanna wave bye bye?" Doug says to the press and then at Devi.

Doug waves Devi's little hand towards the press. Then he tickles his tummy causing him to giggle, causing the press to awe once again.

Doug and Devi then walk away from the press and they continue their walk to the White House.

"This is what happens when you're one of the most loved babies in America. Thanks again everybody. We're gonna go see Mama now!" Doug says to Devi and Devi happily babbles.

After a forty minute walk, Doug and Devi have made it to the White House and are headed to the Eisenhower Executive Office Building!

"That was a lot of exercise for Daddy! We will get in the SUV when we head home!" Doug says to Devi and Devi babbles happily.

Doug and Devi wave and talk with the White House workers while they walk over to the Eisenhower Executive Office Building!

"Look, Devi! There's Mama's office!" Doug says pointing down the hall where Kamala's office is!

"Ba ba ba!" Devi says as he plays with Doug's mask and smiles at him.

"Don't touch my mask, bud. I need this mask to keep me, Mama and you safe!" Doug says as he looks at Devi and Devi smiles.

Doug and Devi walk up to Kamala's office and they hear Kamala and Doug laughing and joking around.

"Ba ba ba ba!" Devi says happily as Doug smiles at her.

Kamala and Cory stop talking as they begin to hear Doug and Devi talking outside of the office.

"Aw, Doug and Devi are here." Kamala says softly as she smiles.

Doug knocks on the door a few times and Devi happily babbles, causing Cory to awe and smile.

"Who is it?" Kamala asks out loud, already knowing what it is

"The Second Gentleman of the United States and the Baby Gentleman of the United States!" Doug says and Devi happily babbles.

"Come in!" Kamala says as the door opens up and Doug and Devi walk into Kamala's office.

"Hi, beautiful! Hi, Cory! Look Devi! It's Mama and Uncle Coco! Say hi!" Doug says as Devi attempts to wave and babbles happily.

*Kamala's office. Imagine Cory and Kamala are sitting across from each other*

"Hi, baby! Come here! I want some hugs and kisses!" Kamala says in a babyfied voice at Devi.

Doug walks over to Kamala and hands Devi to her to hold.

"Hi, little man! Hi, baby! Have you had a fun day with Dada?" Kamala says to Devi and Devi smiles.

"Ba ba!" Devi says happily to Kamala.

"Yeah! You almost have it!" Kamala says in a babyfied voice at Devi.

"He is going to say Da da first!" Doug says as he giggles.

"No! It's going to be Mama!" Kamala says playfully to Doug and Cory laughs.

"Aw! So so cute!" Cory says with a big smile.

"Look, Devi! Look! It's Uncle Coco! Say hi Uncle Coco!" Kamala says in a babyfied voice as Devi tries to wave.

"Hi, buddy! Hi! Your outfit is so stinking cute today!" Cory says as he does silly faces at Devi and Devi smiles.

"It is! Daddy did a great job dressing you!" Kamala says as she kisses Devi's cheek before handing him to Cory.

Cory holds Devi up and let's Devi "jump" on his lap.

"Jump! Jump! Jump!" Cory says in a babyfied voice causing Devi to laugh loudly.

"So what's been new and what we're you two talking about?" Doug asks Kamala as he hugs her tightly and kisses her twice.

"Just a bunch of bills and catching up with each other! Right Cory?" Kamala says to Doug as she rubs Doug's chest and pulls him into a kiss.

Doug rubs Kamala's small baby bump and smiles proudly.

"Yup! We were just talking about the Voting Rights bill, the senate session this morning and the one that will happen tonight, which is just gonna be us arguing with republicans who just don't care and want rigged elections." Cory says to Kamala, Doug and Devi.

Devi begin to happily pull on Cory's tie and giggles loudly.

"No no, Devi! Don't pull on Uncle Coco's tie!" Kamala says to Devi, trying to get him to stop.

"It's okay! It's okay! It's not hurting me, let him play." Cory says as he playfully bounces Devi on his legs and Devi giggles some more.

"Devi! Look at Mama and Daddy!" Doug says as he takes a picture of Cory and Devi.

Devi looks up at Kamala and Doug and smiles.

"Aww! Look at that big smile! You smile like Mama! Yes! Show off that little tooth!" Kamala says in a babyfied voice at Devi and smiles back.

"He has a tooth? Cory asks Devi and Devi smiles.

"Yes!" Kamala says as Cory looks at Devi's mouth.

"Wow! He has a tooth already! And it looks like a few more are coming in!" Cory says with a giggle.

"Tell us about it! He has been pretty fussy, but the last few days have been good." Doug says with a grin.

"Yeah, poor baby boy hasn't been feeling the best due to teething." Kamala says to Cory.

For another hour or so Doug and Devi visited with Kamala before heading back home to the Naval Observatory!

For the rest of the day, Kamala, Doug and Devi enjoy it together as a family! :)
