Today is Kamala's first ever OBGYN appointment for this pregnancy!

Kamala is extremely nervous about this appointment because she is afraid that the pregnancy might not be viable or something is terribly wrong with the baby.

Kamala didn't really sleep well last night due to her anxiety, but she managed to sleep a few hours.

Doug has been reassuring to her that everything is going to be fine and that today is going to be a wonderful day.

Right now, Doug is in the drive thru line at Dunkin' Donuts, getting himself a coffee and a breakfast sandwich since he is hungry and he and Kamala didn't have time to eat before they had to leave the house.

Doug also got Kamala a hot tea to try to help her feel better and a donut as a treat.

Kamala is wearing a comfy gray t-shirt, her Howard University sweatshirt and a nice pair of black leggings while Doug is wearing dark blue jeans and a nice blue dress shirt.

Kamala lays her head on the window and Doug rubs her leg, comforting her the best he can right now.

"You feel okay, baby?" Doug asks Kamala softly as he continues to rub her leg.

"Mhm, I'm just so nauseated." Kamala says as she sips on her water.

"I'm sorry. I wish I could make you feel better. I love you." Doug says tenderly to Kamala.

"I love you too, Dougie." Kamala says softly as Doug drives up to get his coffee, Kamala's tea, his breakfast sandwich and Kamala's donut.

As Doug drives to the OBGYN's office, he eats his breakfast sandwich, causing Kamala's nausea to get 10x worse.

"Why don't you drink some tea, baby. It might help settle your stomach some." Doug says softly to Kamala.

"Doug, why did you buy that fucking sandwich? It smells so gross!" Kamala says as she opens the window some, so the sandwich smell can leave the car.

"Baby, it's just an sausage egg and cheese sandwich. I didn't know eggs and sausage bothered your nose." Doug says feeling really bad that his sandwich is making Kamala not feel good.

Just then, Kamala bends down and throws up on the passenger seat floor and Doug quickly pulls over the car.

"You okay, baby? You okay?" Doug asks Kamala tenderly, softly rubbing Kamala's back.

"Yeah... I-I'm s-s-sorry for throwing up in the car." Kamala says trying to not get upset but she does.

"It's okay! It's okay! And don't worry about it, honey. I should have brought a trash can with us just in case you got sick. You feel okay, now?" Doug asks Kamala and she nods, cleaning her face off with a napkin.

"Thank God I brought mouth wash." Kamala says, making Doug laugh.

Doug drops off Kamala at the doctors office so he can quickly get his car washed out.

Fifteen minutes later, Doug comes back and finds Kamala still sitting in the waiting room.

"Have you seen the doctor yet, honey?" Doug asks softly as he sits down next to Kamala.

"Not yet. She is a little backed up. But I think I'm next." Kamala says as she holds Doug's hand and squeezes it.

"Everything will be okay. I promise you." Doug says as he kisses Kamala's hand and Kamala's nods, laying her head on his shoulder.

After waiting another fifteen minutes in the waiting room, Kamala and Doug are taken back to an exam room.

Kamala is laying on the exam table while Doug is sitting right next to her.

"You feel okay?" Doug asks Kamala as he rubs her arm supportively.

"Yeah... I'm just really nervous and I feel like I'm about to pee my pants." Kamala say as Doug chuckles.

"As soon as the ultrasound is done you can pee, honey." Doug says as he smiles at Kamala and Kamala smiles back at Doug.

A few minutes later, the doctor walks into the room and talks with Kamala about her symptoms and other concerns Kamala has.

"Okay! Let's do an ultrasound to see what's going on!" The doctor says with a cheeky smile at Kamala and Doug. 

The doctor places some bluish color gel on Kamala's bare stomach, causing Kamala to shiver.

"Sorry, the gel is a little cold!" The doctor says to Kamala as she begins to do the ultrasound.

"It's okay." Kamala says as she holds Doug's hand and Doug kisses her hand.

The doctor looks at the screen, looking for everything she needs to see in an ultrasound at this point.

The doctor then smiles and turns the ultrasound screen around so Kamala and Doug can both see the baby.

"Here is your little baby! The baby looks perfect and has a strong heart beat! Congratulations!" The doctor says as she plays the heart beat out loud for Kamala and Doug to hear it.

Kamala looks over to Doug in disbelief that they are actually having a baby, while Doug's mouth opens wide as he grins ear to ear.

"Oh my goodness. Wow." Doug says softly as he cries a little, seeing the baby and Kamala smiles at Doug.

Kamala then begins to cry tears of joy, seeing her and Doug's baby on the screen, wiggling around and has a strong heart beat.

"I told you everything was okay! I told you!" Doug says happily.

"Yes, everything looks wonderful! The baby looks healthy and is growing great!" The doctor says to Kamala and Doug as she takes a few pictures for Kamala and Doug to have as a keepsake.

After Kamala finishes talking with her doctor, she goes to get her blood work done to run a few tests on herself and on the baby to make sure everything is healthy.

Kamala and Doug then leave the OBGYN office, trying to be discreet as they can and luckily nobody spots them. Kamala and Doug do NOT want the press to know about this at least until the inauguration is over.

Kamala and Doug both get in the car and they sit together, looking through all of the ultrasound pictures they received today!

"When did you clean the car out?" Kamala asks and then she remembers that Doug left the doctors office while she was waiting in the waiting room to get it cleaned.

"Oh! I got a trash can too just in case you get sick again." Doug says pointing to the small trash can in the back.

"Aww, you are so cute." Kamala says as he rubs Doug's cheek and Doug smiles.

Doug rubs Kamala's stomach and Kamala puts her hand on top of Doug's.

"Our baby is so stinking cute, Dougie. Look at them." Kamala says as she smiles at the ultrasound pictures and then smiles at Doug.

"They sure are! I am so excited, baby! This is so amazing!" Doug says as he kisses Kamala a few times.

"My breath smells and probably taste gross to kiss!" Kamala says as she and Doug both laugh at each other.

"Your fine, honey! I promise!" Doug says as Kamala sips on the tea Doug bought earlier.

The tea is cold now but it still tastes good to Kamala, which is fine to her.

"And I'm excited too! I am also so relieved that the baby is healthy and everything looks good. Now we wait for the blood work to come back to make sure the baby is perfect and doesn't have any genetic problems." Kamala says as she holds Doug's hand and Doug kisses it.

"I told you everything was going to be okay. And either way, our baby is going to be perfect to us." Doug whispers as he kisses Kamala's cheek.

"That's right. And with the blood test, we are going to find out what we are having too." Kamala says as Doug's faces lights up and he smiles.

"Really? They didn't have a blood test like that when Cole and Ella were born! We had to wait until the big scan that's in the middle of the pregnancy. This is so cool!" Doug says giddy with excitement, causing Kamala to blush and smile.

"Mhm! I'm really excited to find out what we are having. It is going to be so fun to buy the baby clothes and make a little nursery." Kamala says as her face lights up knowing all the fun things she gets to do as a mom.

"I'll be happy with either gender, as long as they are healthy is all that matters to me. And you being healthy too of course." Doug says, making Kamala smile.

"I love you, Dougie." Kamala says softly to Doug.

"I love you too, beautiful." Doug says happily to Kamala.

"Can I have my donut now? I need to eat something before I get super nauseated again." Kamala says to Doug and Doug nods.

"Sure, here you go! Hopefully it isn't stale." Doug says, handing the donut that is in the bag to his wife.

"Thank you and it shouldn't be, you just got it!" Kamala says playfully as she begins to eat the donut and smiles.

"You gotta make sure you eat so baby can grow nice and big." Doug says, rubbing Kamala's stomach again.

"You are so sweet, Dougie." Kamala says softly to Doug and Doug smiles.

"You are too, honey." Doug says kissing Kamala's cheek.

Doug and Kamala go home and relax for the rest of the day!
