*Maya, Tony, Nik, Meena, Amara and Leela all fly in from California to DC to visit Kamala and Doug and meet baby Devi! Thank you so much to my best friend joebidenloving for helping me when I need it! Enjoy!

August 19th, 2021

Today has been a relaxing and beautiful Thursday at the Harris-Emhoff household!

Kamala and Doug have been mostly relaxing around their house, taking care of Devi whenever he needs to be fed or changed and also watching Major!

Jill and Joe will be coming home from the hospital with their baby boy Jacob on Friday, so Major will be going home sometime on Saturday or Sunday!

Kamala has also been keeping up with briefings with Joe and the cabinet and Doug has been doing some work too!

Today is also going to be a really fun day because more of Kamala and Doug's family members are flying in from California to Washington DC to visit for a week and meet baby Devi!

Kamala's little sister Maya, Maya's husband Tony, Kamala's neice Meena, Meena's husband Nik and Meena and Nik's two daughters Amara and Leela are all on the way! 

Doug and Devi are laying in bed together, watching some sports while Kamala is in the master bathroom putting some cream on her face. Kamala just took a shower and she is in her red robe and her wet hair is up in a towel.

Devi farts a loud fart and it sounds wet, causing Doug to chuckle because he knows that means Devi needs a diaper change.

"Did you poop? I think you did! Let's get you changed and cleaned!" Doug says in a babyfied voice at Devi as he takes Devi to his nursery to get his diaper and outfit changed.

Doug begins to change Devi's diaper and begins to loudly gag, causing Kamala to chuckle.

"Are you okay, honey?" Kamala yells to Doug from the master bedroom with a giggle, making sure Doug is okay and not getting sick.

"Yeah, I'm good! Devi just a nasty blow out!" Doug says as he finally stops gagging and changes Devi's diaper and changes Devi out of his pajamas.

"Does Devi need a bath?" Kamala asks Doug as she finishes putting lotion on her face.

"Nope, he is good!" Doug says and Kamala smiles.

Kamala then walks into the nursery smiling at Doug and Devi together. Devi coos and wiggles around some, causing Doug and Kamala to both smile.

*Devi's outfit with brown pants*

"Hi, baby boy! Hi, baby! Look how adorable you are in your little fox outfit! Are you excited to meet your Auntie Maya, Uncle Tony and cousins Meena, Nik, Amara and Leela?" Kamala says in a babyfied voice and Devi coos, causing Kamala and Doug to both smile.

"I feel like he has gotten so much bigger already!"
Doug says as he picks up Devi and kisses him before holding him close.

Kamala softly rubs Devi's head and kisses his cheek while Devi coos and yawns.

"He sure has! I can't believe it. He is almost two weeks old!" Kamala says with a little pout causing Doug to smile.

"Our baby boy is growing up fast and Jacob is a week old today!" Doug says, talking about Devi and then Joe and Jill's newborn baby boy causing Kamala to smile.

"He is! I am so happy that Jill, Joe and Jacob will be home tomorrow. I think Major really wants to go home with his Mom and Dad." Kamala says happily to Doug as she kisses him a few times.

"I think he has enjoyed his stay here with us! And Jill and Joe will both know that Major will be great with a newborn baby." Doug says and Kamala nods in agreement.

"He is a very good dog and a very protective with Devi. I think he is going to be protective with Jacob as well." Kamala says as Doug hands Devi to her to hold.

"He definitely will be and he will love both boys so so much." Doug says, kissing Kamala's cheek and rubs Devi's head, fixing his hair that was sticking up.

"Aww, yes! Hi, baby boy. Hi, baby! You are such a sweet boy! Yes, you are!" Kamala says in a babyfied voice, kissing Devi's cheek softly.

"I love that Devi is a Mama's boy. Cole didn't become a Mama's boy until he was a little kid." Doug says and Kamala smiles.

"I love it too!" Kamala says as she smiles down at Devi who is falling asleep.

"Woof! Woof! Woof!" Major barks happily downstairs, causing Doug and Kamala to both smile.

"We are coming, Major! We are coming, bud!" Kamala says happily as she, Devi and Doug all go downstairs and they take Major outside to run around.

Kamala, Doug, Devi and Major all patiently and happily wait for Maya, Tony, Meena, Nika, Amara and Leela to all arrive at their house!

An hour later, Tony, Maya, Meena, Nik, Amara and Leela have arrived at the Naval Observatory!

Major runs over to the front door and he begins to happily bark at Maya, Tony, Meena, Nik, Amara and Leela, happy to see some new people.

Kamala smiles, knowing her sister, brother-in-law, niece, nephew and grandnieces are here to visit!

Kamala quietly walks over to Doug who has been taking a nap on the couch while Devi is sleeping in his pack 'n' play next to Doug.

"Dougie, Dougie." Kamala whispers as she rubs Doug's back chasing Doug to groan.

"You gotta wake up. Everybody is here." Kamala says as she kisses softly Doug's cheek and Doug slowly wakes up and smiles at Kamala.  

"Why did you let me take a nap?" Doug asks Kamala as he stretches his arms and fixes his hair.

"Because you look adorable when you sleep." Kamala says as she and Doug giggle at each other before softly kissing each other twice.

"DOGGY! DOGGY!" Leela yells happily as she sees Major at the front door, sitting down.

"Aww! A doggy, Mommy!" Amara says as she jumps around with Leela.

"That is Major! Do you girls remember meeting Major a few months ago at the White House?" Meena asks the girls and they both nod.

"Ya! Major and Champ!" Leela says as she twirls around and smiles at Meena.

"Champ in heaven though!" Amara says to Meena.

"That's right, Amara. Champ is in heaven now and is an angel." Meena says to the girls.

Just then, Kamala walks over to the front door and stands next to Major before she opens the front door to walk outside.

"AUNTIE!" Amara and Leela both say in unison, running over to Kamala and both hug her tightly.

"Hi, girlies! Come here! I missed you two so so much!" Kamala says as she hugs and kisses Amara and Leela one by one.

"Auntie! You look so good! Hot mama!" Meena says with some sass as she smiles at Kamala and hugs her tightly.

"Hello, Meena! And aw, thank you!" Kamala says with a cheeky grin at Meena.

"SIS! You look so hot! I looked like a humungous fat blob after giving birth to Meena!" Maya says with sass, causing Kamala to laugh.

"Hi, Maya! And oh stop, you looked great!" Kamala says hugging Maya tightly.

"Nik! Tony! Do you guys need any help? Doug can come out and help?" Kamala asks Nik and Tony who are both getting the bags out of the car.

"No, we got it! Thank you!" Tony says and Nik nods in agreement.

"Are you girlies excited to see baby Devi?" Kamala asks Amara and Leela, causing both girls to be excited.

"Devi! Devi!" Leela squeals as she pushes past Kamala to get into the house.

"No Leela, please wait for Auntie." Meena says to her younger daughter and looks apologetic at Kamala.

"I'm so sorry, Auntie. She and Amara have been so excited the whole week to meet Devi." Meena says a little embarrassed by Leela's behavior.

"Don't worry about it, Meena! I'm just so happy you are all here visiting us for a few days!" Kamala says as she ushers Maya, Tony, Meena, Nik, Amara and Leela all inside with Major happily following them.

Doug stands up and picks Devi up out of his pack'n'play to hold him in his arms when he hears everyone walking into the house.

"Woof! Woof! Woof!" Major barks happily to Doug and Doug smiles down at Major.

"Is Kamala bringing everyone inside? Yay! Yay!" Doug asks Major and Major happily barks again at him.

Kamala, Maya, Doug, Amara, Leela, Meena and Nik all walk into the living room where Doug is with Devi and Major.

"Hi, everyone! Hi! This is Devi! He is so excited to meet his Auntie, his Uncle and cousins!" Doug says as he holds Devi's little hand up to wave to his family.

"Hiiiii, Devi!" Amara and Leela both say in unison as they walk towards Doug, who is now sitting down on the couch, so Devi is on the girls' level.

"Be careful with baby Devi, girlies. Be sweet and gentle with him." Meena says as the girls come closer to Doug and Devi.

"The girls are fine, don't worry!" Kamala says with a big smile at Meena.

Nik stands next to Meena and hugs her tightly causing Meena to smile ear to ear. And Tony stands next to Maya, wrapping his arms around Maya's waist.

"Hi, Leela and Amara! It is so good to see you two girlies!" Doug says as he kisses both Leela and Amara with a cheeky smile.

"Devi! Devi!" Leela says with lots of excitement as she smiles at a sleeping Devi.

"Hi, Devi!" Amara says as she cheers happily and waves at Devi.

"What do you girls think about Devi?" Kamala asks the girls with a cheeky smile on her face.

"He so tute and little, Auntie!" Amara says as she giggles.

"Yeah! He so tute, Auntie!" Leela says as she dances around.

"Gramma! Wook at baby Devi! Wook!" Amara says to Maya as she points at Devi in Doug's arms.

"I see him, sweety! He is sooooo adorable!" Maya says with a cheeky smile as she admires her brand new nephew.

"Yeah! You his Gramma too, Gramma!" Leela says to Maya, causing everybody to giggle and smile.

"No, baby. I'm not his Gramma! I'm his Auntie! Just like Auntie is Mommy, Amara and your Auntie!" Maya says trying her best to explain this to a three year old even though she won't understand.

"Oh my goodness, he is so adorable! He has a lot of hair, Auntie! More hair than Amara and Leela had as a baby!" Meena says as she admires her baby cousin and softly rubs his head.

"I know! All of that heartburn I had during my whole pregnancy makes so much sense now." Kamala says with a chuckle as she stands next to Maya to adore her little baby in her husband's arms.

"He is so cute. You did really well, sis." Maya says without her eyes leaving Devi causing Kamala to smile.

Kamala vividly remembers her twenty years old self admiring teenage Maya holding Meena as a newborn baby just like this. Now Maya is admiring her miracle baby boy.

"He is soooo perfect, Auntie and Uncle Doug!" Meena fills in, totally mesmerized by her baby cousin.

"Thank you!" Doug and Kamala both say in unison to Meena happily.

"Amara, Leela, would you girlies like to touch Devi? You definitely can! You two just have to be gentle and soft." Doug asks Amara and Leela.

"Yes, he wooks so soft, Uncle Doug!" Amara says as she takes a step closer to Doug and Devi and smiles at Devi.

Amara then reaches out her hand to touch Devi's forehead, feeling all of his hair and his soft baby skin.

"So tute and little." Amara says as she runs her finger over Devi's little nose, causing Devi to frown and squirm in Doug's arms.

"I think you tickled him." Doug says with a chuckle and pats Amara on her back to comfort her.

Amara giggles loudly and smiles up at everyone.

"I tickled Devi! Oops!" Amara says with some sass, causing everybody to laugh.

Leela then begins to carefully pat Devi's head a little, before rubbing his chubby cheeks.

"He is so wittle!" Leela says to Doug and Amara nods in agreement.

"He is! He will grow as the months go on! Soon, he will crawl and walk!" Doug says causing Leela and Amara to get excited and happy.

"He looks just like Doug when he sleeps! Especially that picture you sent me of Doug sleeping, sis!" Maya says to Kamala and Kamala smiles.

"You sent a picture of me sleeping to Maya?" Doug asks Kamala playfully, causing Kamala to laugh loudly.

"Yes! A side by side of you and Devi! You two sleep the same way!" Kamala says as she giggles and kisses Doug.

Doug helps Amara and Leela each have a turn to hold Devi with a pillow. Maya and Meena proudly take pictures of the special moment!

After Amara and Leela each hold Devi for a few minutes, the girls begin to run around the house and play with Major!

Kamala, Doug, Devi, Maya, Tony, Meena and Nik all sit down and hang other while Amara and Leela play!

Meena gets to hold baby Devi first per everybody wanting her too. Doug hands Devi to Meena and Meena's face lights up with happiness finally having a baby cousin!

"Hi, I'm your cousin Meena! But I'm so old you'll probably call me Auntie!" Meena says as she holds Devi close.

"Don't say that! It makes me sound ancient!" Maya says playfully to her daughter causing Kamala to bust out laughing.

After Meena holds Devi for a little while, Maya, Tony and Nik all get a turn to hold baby Devi!

Kamala, Doug and Devi are all so happy to have family visiting for a few days! :)
