*This is the first chapter back since the election. To be honest, I don't think I'll truly heal from this loss but maybe someday. I'm still not sure on how to proceed with this book (should she become president anyway or maybe an event happens and T—-p isn't President anymore in the story? Or should I just let Kamala and her family go back to California. If you have suggestions on what to do let me know! White House Residence

"Can we go outside and pway in da snow, Mama?" Jacob asks Jill, tugging her leg wanting her attention.

"No, not yet Jakey. We have to wait for Maeve, Zoe, Joey and Ivy to all get ready. They are almost done." Jill says, rubbing Jacob's head fixing his blonde hair.

"But I'm rweady now, Mama." Jacob pouts up at Jill.

"Me too, Nana!" Beau yells, jumping around, ready to jump and play in the snow.

"Me thwree, Nana!" Devi says, playfully stomping over to Jacob and Beau with his snow boots.

"I know you three rambunctious boys are ready to have some fun in the snow. But we have to wait for everyone else to get ready and then everyone can have fun together. We are learning patience today." Jill says, kissing Jacob, Beau and Devi's cheeks one by one.

"I don't wike it." Jacob huffs.

"Patience is a very hard thing to learn, I know." Jill says as she tries to not laugh at the three year olds annoyance.

"Nana! I weady to pway in da snow!" Ivy says as she runs, looking for Jill, her brother, Jacob and Beau.

*Beau, Jacob, Devi and Ivy's snowsuits*

"You are! Look at you in your little snow suit! Are you excited to play in the snow?" Jill bends down to Ivy's level, kissing her forehead.

"Ya! So cited Nana!" Ivy says with a big cheeky smile.

Kamala walks in a few seconds later, smiling at Ivy, Jill, Devi, Jacob and Beau all together.

Kamala is getting ready to head to the Capitol to take care of some important things and hopes it goes smoothly unlike the last time this occurred.

Meanwhile, Joe and Jill are getting ready to leave Washington DC to head to New Orleans, Louisiana to meet with victims families and survivors of a recent terrorist attack.

"Ivy, Devi, I have to get going now. I have to do some work at the Capitol. I want you two to be very good for Mr. Hunter, Mrs. Melissa and Daddy, okay? And I want you two to have lots of fun with Jacob, Beau, Zoe, Joey, and Maeve. I know I'll get lots of pictures and videos of all of you playing in the snow. And please keep your gloves, hats and scarves on, it is very cold." Kamala bends down to her children's level to talk with them, making sure they know the expectations of their behavior while she's gone at work.

"Otay, Mama!" Ivy hugs Kamala tight while Kamala kisses and hugs her.

"Okay, Mama! Hit da hammer!" Devi says causing Kamala to laugh her famous laugh.

"I'll have someone video tape it for you! I know you love that." Kamala says as she hugs and kisses Devi.

"Jakey! Beau! I want some hugs and kisses too!" Kamala says with Jacob and Beau running over to give hugs and kisses.

"Zoe, Maeve and Joey need hug and kisses too, Kam!" Beau says to Kamala causing her to awe loudly.

"Aw, that's so sweet you said that Beau! I already gave them some hugs and kisses while I got Ivy ready. You are such a sweet boy." Kamala says to Beau.

Jill walks over and gives Kamala a long tight hug. Jill knows today is going to be hard for Kamala but applauds her for doing the right thing for the country.

"You are one of the strongest women I know and I want you to know that Joe and I are so proud of you and love you. I know today is going to be a hard kind of day but we'll get through this together." Jill tenderly places her hands on Kamala's cheeks as she looks into Kamala's chocolate brown eyes.

"Thank you, Jill. And I love you and Joe as well. Doug and the kids doe too. Please be careful going to New Orleans, the weather is awful right now. That's why I'm leaving so early because it's going to take us forever to get down to the Capitol and it's only down the street." Kamala says, hugging Jill tightly.

"We will! I was kinda hoping the trip would be canceled until the end of the week when the weather and the roads were better but the media would have a humungous fit if we did that, even though we are basically snowed in. The crew is shoveling paths here and at Andrews Air Force Base so we can leave. And Joe really wants to see the scene and pay his respects so I want to join him for that and pay my respects as well." Jill says to Kamala as Kamala nods her head while listening.

"That's true! The media has fits about just about everything we do. The end of the week is Jimmy's funeral. Speaking of that, I have to get Ivy's little pantsuit ready. It's so stinking cute. And I think Devi is just gonna wear that nice sweater you and Joe got for him this Christmas with a bow tie. Devi hates wearing a regular suit." Kamala says and Jill nods.

"That's what Jacob is wearing. A nice sweater with a little tie. Jacob doesn't like suits either or dress shoes! So he's gonna wear his new shows Ashley got him for Christmas. He doesn't act like a President's child not wearing a suit!" Jill says as she chuckles and Kamala joins in and chuckles as well.

Kamala gives Devi, Ivy, Jacob and Beau one more kiss and hugs before she leaves. Jill then leaves to head to the airport with Joe.

"Ivy, Devi were you two being good for Nana?" Doug asks Ivy and Devi, bending down to their level.

"Yes!" Devi and Ivy both say in unison.

"Good! Mrs. Melissa, Mr. Hunter, Maeve, Zoe and Joey are just about ready! Who's excited to play in the snow?" Doug asks the kids as they cheer.

"MEEEEEEE!" Beau, Devi and Jacob all yell and jump around.

"I cited Daddy!" Ivy says smiling up at Doug.

"Me too! It is going to be sooooo much fun!" Doug says, as Ivy giggles and Devi smiles.

"I chase you, Devi!" Jacob says as he giggles at Devi.

"I chase you, Jakey!" Devi says, chasing Jacob.

"Me too!" Beau says as he, Devi and Jacob all being to "run" as fast as they can in their fluffy snow gear and heavy snow boots.

"Beau, please don't run! We don't want you to get another big bump on your head." Hunter says, carrying his thirteen month old granddaughter, Maeve.

In just a short few weeks, Maeve is going to be a big sister to a little brother. Naomi and Peter announced the exciting pregnancy news on Election Day and the baby is due any day now.

*Maeve, Zoe and Joey's snowsuits*

"May May!" Ivy says, smiling up at Maeve and Maeve smiles back at her.

"Hi, May May!" Devi and Jacob both say, causing Maeve to smile again.

"Daddy! Maeve wooks wike a marshmallow!" Beau says causing the trio of kids to laugh.

"She kinda does look like a marshmallow, huh?" Hunter says to Beau and Beau giggles again.

"Ba ba ba ba." Maeve babbles at Hunter as she plays with his nose.

"Are you excited for the snow, sweet girl? It is going to be really fun!" Hunter says, kissing Maeve's cheek.

"Hunny! Is Nomi and Peter pwaying in da snow wif us too?" Jacob asks Hunter, pulling on his shirt.

"No, Naomi and Peter have to run some adult errands! That's why Maeve is hanging out with us!" Hunter says to Jacob and he nods not knowing what that really means.

"Hi, Maeve! Am I scary still?" Doug says softly to Maeve waving at her.

"I don't know why she gets scared of you Doug! Naomi and Peter feel really awful about it too." Hunter says as Maeve looks at Doug, unsure about him.

"Why? She's just a baby she's still learning the world. Besides she doesn't see Kamala and I as much." Doug says, making sure Hunter doesn't feel bad.

"Mr. Doug is Ivy and Devi's Daddy!" Hunter explains to his granddaughter as Doug holds her hand.

"May May! Pway with us!" Ivy says to Maeve as she grins.

"She will! We all will and it's going to be awesome!" Doug says, causing Devi, Jacob and Beau to cheer.

"Is everyone ready to go play in the snow now?" Melissa says, holding Zoe's hand while Joey runs in front of them.

"I rweady!" Joey yells as he twirls around.

"Eeeee!" Zoe says with her pacifier in her mouth.

"Okay! Everyone is all bundled up and ready! Let's all go outside now!" Melissa says to the kids.

"YAY!" Beau, Jacob, Devi, Joey, Zoe and Ivy all say in unison.

Maeve giggles and claps her hands causing the trio of adults to smile.

Ivy, Doug, Melissa, Zoe, Hunter, Maeve, Joey, Beau, Jacob and Devi all happily walk outside in the backyard together!

Beau, Jacob, Devi and Joey all walk outside together and they all jump in the snow. The boys laugh together and roll around in the snow.

"Woah! It's deep!" Doug says as he helps Ivy walk around in the snow.

"They said we got around nine inches of snow!More than they thought we were gonna get!" Melissa says to everyone.

Zoe wobbles around, unsure on how to walk around in the snow just yet. Melissa stays by her side so she doesn't fall.

"Look, Maeve! Look at the snow! What do you think?" Hunter says in a babyfied voice at Maeve.

"Ooo ba ba ba!" Maeve says stomping her feet, causing Hunter, Melissa and Doug to all chuckle.

"Wow!" Ivy says as she giggles.

"I eat da snow!" Jacob says as he holds snow in his hands, putting it on his face.

"You are? Does it taste good?" Melissa says as she takes a picture of Jacob for Jill and Joe.

"Uh huh!" Jacob says with a smile.

"Yummmm!" Devi says as he eats some snow.

"Make sure you guys look at the snow! We don't pick up yellow snow!" Hunter says to the boys.

"What dat?" Joey says as he jumps next to Beau.

"Yellow snow is dog pee!" Hunter says in a silly voice.

"EWWWWW!" Beau, Jacob, Devi and Joey all yell, causing the adults to laugh.

"WOOF! WOOF!" Comamnder barks as he and Major run over to everyone.

"Hi, pups! Where's your walker?" Hunter says to the dogs.

"Right here! I'm so sorry!" Paige the dog walker says running after the two dogs.

"It's okay! We got them!" Hunter says as Paige sighs in relief, not wanting to get in trouble.

Commander and Major run around the kids, causing snow to fly in the air and the kids to laugh loudly.

Ivy. Zoe and Maeve walk around the snow together, unsure on what to do.

"The girls are unsure about the snow." Doug says chuckling and taking a picture of the girls.

"Meanwhile the boys are going to soaked when they come inside." Hunter says watching the four boys jumping around and rolling in the snow.

Melissa walks close to the girls, helping them gain confidence in the snow.

"Ivy, Zoe, May, say cheese!" Melissa says as she begins to take pictures of the girls.

"Eeeese!" Ivy, Zoe and Maeve all say in unison with big smiles, causing Melissa to awe loudly.

"Hey kids! Lets's build a snowman! And a snowgirl!" Doug says, wanting to include the girls too!

Doug, Hunter, Beau, Jacob, Devi, Joey, Zoe, Ivy and Maeve all build the snowman and snowwoman together while Melissa mainly watched and took photos and videos for everyone to have as memories!

After almost an hour in the snow, Hunter, Melissa, Doug, Beau, Joey, Zoe, Devi, Ivy, Jacob and Maeve all go inside and eat grilled cheeses before relaxing inside the rest of the day! :)
