After the announcement of Professor Oak

Ash said "I am totally psyched."

Gary asked "why wouldn't you be ??"

Ash then asked "Why don't we practice soccer after the lecture. I am sure they will be a lot more interested in sports." to which Gary Nodded.

Gary said " I wish Red & Blue could be here with us. It would've been a lot more fun".

Ash Agreed "Gary you are right but we need to focus on selection tomorrow, nothing must distract us now".

Gary nodded and said "You are right lets go after this lecture."

Announcement Gary Oak & Ash Ketchum to be in Principal's office Now.

"well that's our cue lets get moving," Ash said while getting up alongside Gary.

In the Principal's Office

Gary Knocked on the Door of Principal's Cabin while ash was just waiting eagerly.

"Come in" Oak said on seeing Ash & Gary he further said "Gary & Ash I hope you heard of Kalos high selection??"

"Yes professor & I am totally psyched about it & can't wait for tomorrow" To which Gary nodded and the professor gave an amused expression.

"there's the chance for a lifetime for you both & Ash don't forget they are also offering scholarship so its good for you actually too." Professor Oak informed both of them.

"Professor I don't know what standards they had set but we are gonna top them all." Ash said & further asked "what do you say Gary?" to which Gary nodded. 

Oak then reassured them "Don't worry for that just give your best shot you two & leave the rest& both of you're given off from lectures & practice because it's also part of selection"

"Gramps we gotta train & keep moving I know they will not be able to resist me at all," Gary said in a smug way.

Ash then said "Okay Professor" and then both Gary & Ash got to practice.

Oak's pov:

Well, I am sure these two will be selected but let's not be overconfident because Diantha is also coming along with the selection panel.

At Dinner Ketchum Residence

"Ash Honey dinner is ready, come down now," said Delia 

Ash replied "coming mom." then he walks downstairs and sat on the dinner table and started eating dinner.

Delia inquired "ash is your homework done??"

Ash answered "Mom today both I & Gary got an off from lectures for training for soccer & basketball so no homework."

Delia asked further " may I know why??"

"There's gonna be a selection for students for Kalos high school tomorrow so for that Prof Oak told us to practice" answered ash while gulping food.

Delia then in a low tone told "You should've told me beforehand that you're preparing for Kalos High. But you know it's very Costly??"

Ash further reassured her "Mom they are also offering a full scholarship for students so that's why I am trying."

"Now that's a relief I am sure you're gonna selected & professor Oak also believe that so that's why they gave you the day off," told Delia smiling.

Ash then finished his dinner & said "mom I am finished off to my room now tomorrow gonna be a hectic day. Good night mom."

Delia replied "well Good night honey."

Meanwhile with the selection Committee on Kalos airport

Remo, Wulfric & Grant along with Diantha in her personal jet for the flight to Pallet in Kanto

Remo said starting some conversation "No offense Madam Diantha but I think there was no need for you to come for small school for pallet High." to which Grant Nodded.

Diantha replied "As a trustee, I need to verify the selection process of our school."

Remo agreed and said "Then be our guest Diantha I don't think there will be any student who will catch your eye."

Diantha replied "From the Language of sycamore he was sure that there might be someone." to which Grant & Wulfric Nodded.

Grant further said "Diantha is right professor sycamore is quite sure of what Professor Oak said to him"

Wulfric further added "Its quite odd for sycamore I hadn't seen him like this ever."

Diantha then replied again "What do we know other than to trust professor's instinct. If he's sure about that then there must be someone."

Grant then told them well he said Red & Blue Oak's Brother is one of them"

Diantha then said surprisingly "he actually told you something well I wanted to know, now I am even more intrigued."

"We all are intrigued and further he asked us to train the students for summer break because he was quite sure that they will be selected," Wulfric told them which got surprised looks from all of them.

Grant further added "He also said that he wants to keep them as surprises and will reveal them in the actual tournament."

Diantha then replied  "Professor sycamore is quite ahead of us. Then what we need to do is let's go & see what he wants us to."

At Pallet High Next Morning

"Giovanni the selection panel from Kalos high must be arriving here soon. So keep checking all the facilities are in working condition." Prof Oak ordered Giovanni

Giovanni replied "yes sir, I had already accounted that & everything's fine. Now I must check the data for the sports team for them to see."

Oak nodded & said "okay, then see you & lets complete the incomplete task."

At school pallet high

Diantha says "At last we are here now."

Wulfric agreed & said "Blame professor sycamore for making us restless."

Diantha then narrowed her eyes & said " well now shut the assumptions can we ?? Focus on the selection you all." as they all walk out if the car & then greeted by Professor Oak.

Oak welcome Diantha & everyone else  & say "let me introduce myself I am Headmaster of the facility Professor Samuel Oak."

Diantha asked further "Pleased to meet you professor. Did you know I was coming along??"

Oak nodded and further said "Sycamore informed me at the last minute. A pleasure to have you all here. Please come inside from that we can start your selection process." to which they all moved in the school.

Diantha introduced everyone saying "alongside me is professor Remo for academics selection & Grant & Wulfric for sports." 

Oak lead them to the conference which had a Large TV installed therein & says "Well everyone please have a seat. Now we must get started first we go through academics." to which Diantha & Remo nodded & Prof Oak Called Giovanni for academic records.

Diantha asked Prof Oak "According to sycamore we are here for some surprise are we ??"

Oak replied "Surprises are to surprise people not to tell, it will kill the excitement. Professor Remo these are records for academic data for students for the past 3-4 years." while handling the records to Remo.

Remo then scanned the documents for a while & said "3-4 students in academics look like nerds well perfect scores."

Oak then giggled & added "Maybe & maybe not"

Remo then eyed Professor Oak & asked "You know academic distinction itself only isn't the eligibility for a full scholarship you know professor Oak??" to which he nodded

Oak further added "Sycamore told me beforehand the process  & now just wait for the data of sports students. Well for now we shall see some videos of matches of our soccer & basketball team shall we ??"

Diantha replied "why not??"

Grant then said "well sycamore told us about your grandson professor & do believe he is the one you told sycamore about like the best you have"

Oak then giggled and everyone just eyed him "well he told you that by himself??"

Grant the replied "He didn't tell us that he just said there is the brother of Red & Blue Oak & the best you have, it all just summed up"

Oak the laughed "Sorry to disappoint you all but my grandson Gary is one of the best at Pallet High but not the best."

Grant asked surprised " What?? Are you serious ??"

Diantha interrupted "Grant don't assume things and take them as they come. Sorry professor Oak but continue with the videos." & then Oak asked Giovanni to play the videos for soccer as it was soccer Wulfric & Remo left to check the school grounds & facilities meanwhile.

(After playing the videos for soccer)

Grant says "The kid who attempted the round Kick is good along with Your grandson."

Diantha added "That looked good along with his sneaks and passes."

Grant then added "Flip kick was flawlessly attempted and executed & the best part was the kid he doesn't even sweat after the match shows he's got stamina." Grant then wrote something on a chit & passed it to Diantha who in when saw what was that smiled & nodded.

Oak says "Grant that shows you're the coach he does this all day he's very determined. Now I guess you must be wanting to meet them all?'' to which Grant nodded 

Grant then said I actually want a training session now: that surprised everyone but Oak nodded  & asked him to follow"

Just then Wulfric & Remo enters the Conference room to which Diantha told them "Wulfric & Remo you two take the process of the basketball player selection I am going with Grant for monitoring the Training session"& she stood up and followed after Oak & Grant 

Wulfric says "Well let's see how the basketball matches."

(After basketball videos)

Wulfric says after watching the videos "that single kid scored more than half of the points for your school. That explains its a team game & a single player can't help.

Remo added "well he was good all he needs is polishing I guess but Wulfric is the expert here" 

Oak then added as he was back after the training session started "he is the captain of the team for pallet high what do you expect."

Remo then said "well sorry to interrupt everyone but there are 4 candidates that meet my eye in academics

1. Ash Ketchum
2. Gary Oak
3. Ritchie
4. Tracy sketchit
Students with the highest marks. From the last 3-4 years."

Wulfric then groaned "Gary Oak is sorted No. 2 but I guess he is into Soccer " to which Prof Oak nodded 

"But the Raven haired kid I don't think he's in the list," told Remo to the remorse of Wulfric.

Oak then Chuckled & said "He is Ash Ketchum the very best Pallet High has to offer." to which Wulfric smiled.

Wulfric then asked curiously "so you're saying he is best, but may I know why?" 

Oak then chuckled & replied " you also want a training session?" to which Wulfric nodded " then we must wait for the end of the soccer training session and then we will move into basketball because I think Diantha would want that" to which they agreed.

Oak then went to check the soccer training session meanwhile Wulfric & Remo were left with Giovanni 

Oak's Pov:

Well, everything going to be interesting for sure in the Basketball session & a lot for surprises to unfold. Especially Ash Ketchum
