"I Pallet High I used to play both Soccer & Basketball" said Ash earning a chuckle from Dawn while Serena eyed him seriously

"I thought you are going to tell us something meaningful and we even saw you playing yesterday & your game and the game they are playing is a whole lot different" said Dawn to which Ash laughed

"Dawn, you got me" said Ash while smirking

"It was an easy one, if you're that good of a soccer player then you must've been playing along with them already" said Dawn while eyeing Serena, who was quiet all till now

"That does makes sense" said Serena

"Yeah, I was thinking of tricking you both" said Ash

"Better luck next time" said Dawn while teasing

"I was just trying to get a reaction out of Serena" said Ash as Serena's face flushed

"Shut up!!! Half time is over" said Serena as they all gazed over the playground

Sometime Back in Dressing Room

"Everyone, I have a plan" said Gary to which everyone became curious and averted their attention towards him

"Shoot" said Trip

"They are marking every one of us, also keeping in view that myself along with Calem are marked by their best one's" said Gary to which everyone nodded

"Then what?" asked Calem

"They planned to mark us by our position also covering up all important positions with strong players. If we shuffle our positions a bit, I am sure we can break the marking" said Gary as everyone nodded

"Trip & Paul you're switching positions with Calem & Me" said Gary further as they nodded & then they were interrupted by Grant

"Okay, Time's up. Go out there and show them what we are" motivated Grant and they all nodded and went towards the field

ANNOUNCER- FOLKS, DRAGONS NEED TO PUSH HARDER TO HAVE ANY CHANCE TO SURVIVE THE GAME & JUST NOW GARY OAK HAS GAINED POSSESSION OF THE BALL AND BROKE OF THE MARKING AND NO ONE IS IN THE COVERING POSITION EITHER & WHAT A MARVELLOUS GOAL BY GARY OAK. DRAGONS ARE STILL TRAILING BY ONE GOAL BUT THIS GOAL IS TRULY MARVELOUS.

On the Ground

"Damn, Oak" said Ritchie while smiling & then gestured some commands to his teams

"What?? Don't say you're surprised" teased Gary as he passed him

"Try harder, Oak. If you plan to win" said Ritchie as he went away and Gary smiled.

On the Side-line

"Yayy!!! Goal for Kalos" Cheered Dawn

"Gary does knows how to show off" said Serena

"He really does, sometimes I think it's a part of being an 'Oak'" said Ash earning laughter from Serena and Dawn

"I wonder what they are talking about" said Serena as she eyed Gary & Ritchie

"Ritchie just gestured some commands to his team & by observing his body language I am sure he is loving this competition with Gary" said Ash

ANNOUNCER- FOLKS, FEW MINUTES LEFT IN THE GAME AND SEEMS LIKE RANGERS ARE KEEPING THE DRAGONS AT BAY FOR NOW AS TO KEEP THEIR LEAD FOR AN EASY WIN.

"Hopefully our team can make a comeback in the next match" said Dawn

"Don't worry, today's game was a reality check for us" said Ash to which Serena and Dawn nodded

ANNOUNCER- WELL, EVERYONE RANGERS HAVE WON THIS GAME BY 2-1 AND DEFEATHER THE HOST TEAM. KANTO RANGERS HAVE STARTED THIS SEASON WITH A BANG AS THE DEFENDING CHAMPIONS

On the Ground

"Oak, Better luck next time" said Ritchie with a smirk

"I won't be needing luck next time" replied Gary with a smirk while gaining confused looks from everyone

"Oh so much confidence in yourself" retorted Ritchie while Gary just laughed

"Yeah, Red taught me and don't tell me that you didn't expect that" said Gary earning a chuckle from Gary

"Anyway, you can't beat us" said Ritchie while walking away as Gary made his way to the Dressing Room

"Gary, come fast. Coach is expecting everyone" said Trip as he Ran inside and Gary followed him and then Grant eyed him as he entered the Dressing Room and started speaking

"Okay everyone, Listen up!!!" said Grant as he got everyone's attention and continued "Today was a tuff day for all of us & we had all learnt something from today's loss & I also expect from every one of you to learn from it and not to get disappointed as we can still make a comeback" finished Grant as he eyed everyone and they nodded

"Okay, Coach" shouted everyone from the team

"Good, now take some rest we will meet tomorrow for the practice" said Grant as everyone nodded and left except Gary

"Coach, if Ash would've been playing the results today would've been different" said Gary earning Grant's attention

"I know, but it's the decision of the management to hold him up" said Grant dejectedly

"Coach, I think after today's loss they might consider it early" said Gary

"I guess so and I will talk to them" said Grant as he left

Diantha along with Sycamore were sitting in the VIP section along with Lance of the Kanto Rangers and Mr. Charles Goodshow the Chairman of the committee for the High School association

"Interesting Game" said Mr. Goodshow

"It indeed was" replied Diantha

"But my team won, just like every other time" said Lance earning a chuckle from others

"Diantha, I am impressed so far with the performance of your team in this season" Complemented Mr. Goodshow

"It means a lot coming from you" replied Diantha with a smile

"But, I got some intel that you got two players from Pallet and you played just one till now" said Mr. Goodshow while raising an eyebrow to which Lance also felt intrigued as both Diantha & Sycamore were surprised

"Yes, Mr Goodshow your intel is correct as one of them is in Basketball team & the other one is Gary Oak" interrupted Sycamore much to Diantha's relief

"If you say that, but I also got to know that both of them are excellent soccer players and don't be surprised as you know my position is very high and I have ears everywhere" said Mr. Goodshow to which Diantha sighed

"Well, Mr. Goodshow you're certainly right and I am not surprised that you keep tabs everywhere. The thing is Ash Ketchum does play both Basketball & Soccer & we held him up until now so that he may not get overwhelmed" said Diantha while gaining surprised looks from both Lance & Mr. Goodshow

"That is something that is rare at high school level but I comprehend your strategy of taking things slow" replied Mr. Goodshow with a smile

"Oh, he must be very good at both games if you think very highly of him" interrupted Lance

"You can watch him in the Basketball game, yesterday" replied Diantha with a smirk

"Oh I will love too" replied Lance with a smirk
