Chapter 6
The next day, Julia ended up being sick. Zack snuck into her room with a bowl of soup, sitting beside her.
Julia was laying down, fast asleep with the covered pulled over her. Her cheeks were flushed, and she was sweating.
Zack set the bowl on a table at the side of the bed. He then got another bowl, and filled it with cold water. He grabbed a towel, and dipped it in the water. He returned to Julia's side, sitting down. He rung the cool towel out, before dabbing the sweat off of her forehead. He dipped it back into the water, ringing it out once more, before continuing to dab the sweat.
Julia opened her eyes, looking at Zack. She reached her hand for his, for which he gratefully took her hand in his free hand, the bowl of water now setting in his lap. "Go back to sleep, you need to rest..." He said softly, leaning down and kissing her cheek.
Julia shook her head a bit. "Zack.... when the war is over... can we be together?"
Zack seemed suprised by this, but smiled widely. "No. We'll be more than that... Julia, I want to marry you, and have kids with you."
Julia blushed, her face getting super red with both her fever, and her blushing. "... I want that too... but, what about the council? They won't allow us to be together..."
Zack ran a finger across her hand. "Once we're older... we'll run away... I don't want to be bound by the Jedi code anymore. If staying away from you is the right thing to do, then I don't want to do the right thing. "
Julia say up slightly, setting the bowl of water on the table beside her bed. She pulled Zack under the covers, to beside her. She layed down with him, resting her head on his chest. "And if being with you isn't right, then I won't do the right thing either."
Master Billiba walked in, heading towards the bed. She sat down at the end of the bed. "Running away from your problems isn't the answer. "
Zack sat up a bit, holding Julia close. "You can't stop-"
Master Billiba cut him off. "You didn't let me finish. There are sometimes that you do need to run away, though, because there's no reason in keeping you here if you isn't want to stay. But let me leave you with this: is what you think is right, really right?" She asked, smiling as she saw their confused faces. She leant over, and gave the both of them a small hug, before leaving the room.
Julia looked up at Zack, slightly getting what Master Billiba meant. "I mean... everyone has their opinion of right and wrong... the Empire do kill people to get what they want, and that isn't right... but we have feelings for a reason. We're supposed to be able to feel, to grow stronger with one another... I guess she wnated us to know that neither sides are right..."
Zack gave a small nod. "Bit what dies that mean? Do we have to be the ones to create another group that points out the flaws in their design? Or is something going to destroy both sides in the future?"
Julia started coughing harshly, and the topic was immediately dropped from thiwr minds as Zack cared for Julia for the day.
Who knows. Maybe everything isn't black and white. Maybe there should be a bit of gray.
