Rays of the sun hit the faces of the strangers yet familiar ones. True as they say times have changed but no one acknowledges the minds that caused the change.
The journalists and media swarmed near the gates of High court of Kerala as the idols smuggling case came to an end or that was what they portrayed.
Though there is bright daylight in front of the eyes, one can't see due to the blurred visions of illusions, can't differentiate due to the similarities.
A black car zoomed past the roads of Thiruvananthapuram, inside was Bindu Iyer- renowned epigraphist and archivist and Madhavan - lawyer at Thiruvananthapuram district court. He is Bindu's brother.
"Do you think they'll be alright?"
"Bindu, what's important right now is the knowledge that you know. It's the treasure of our nation. We can't risk it at any cost. Don't worry they'll be fine," replied Madhavan, not sure of how he is going to deal with the leak of confidential matters if it happens.
The car halted at Sundara Vilasam palace, directorate of archeology. As she was about to get down, he stopped her and asked the question that's been bugging him after battling with a yes or no and hesitating for a while.
"What if your project is exposed?"
Answer unknown, Bindu smiled which didn't reveal the emotions she had gone through. She can understand the circumstances that they all had been in fact it's even a fault of hers that can't be blamed, is left behind not ignored but to be healed slowly.
She walked inside pushing the sky blue gates open as the golden conch shell emblem of Travancore glistened in the sunlight above the ivory arch.
The white corridors drowned her in the swirls of new love of her passion and patriotism which dedicated her curiosity, effort and time to make her desires of hope true - A nation of eternal peace.
Group of officers welcomed her, Research officer Ms. Maitili, Artist Superintendent Mr. Dalan, newly appointed Epigraphy assistant Mr. Shiv, Conservation officer Ms. Sumathi, and a few.
"Bindu ma'am the idol smuggling case..." Sumathi tried to tell her but stopped when Dalan continued.
"The judgement is given, but the racket hasn't been completely exposed yet."
"Isn't it the work of the police to investigate?" Maitili wondered.
"Well the information regarding the value and safety had been given by some traitors from the department," replied Shiv.
"The whole chaos started because of mission Kalakar, nevertheless it did help the nation and created awareness among the youth as well gave an opportunity to smuggle," Dalan spoke out loud his statement.
They turned around and looked at Bindu as she worked on that mission.
"The background checks had been done before appointing the teams. We can't really predict what can happen, currently we need to focus on this case and do our best as possible to save our heritage and the pride of our country," said Bindu.
"Yes ma'am, our duty must never be delayed and don't worry about this project ma'am as all are trusted. We'll give our best ma'am!" said Shiv with a confident smile.
"That's the spirit! Maithili, he is your nephew, isn't he?" She asked her.
"Yes he is, your memory is quite sharp Bindu" Maitili complimented her.
They focused on the Sreenarayanapuram temple of Ottoor which is built in Vijayanagara style.
The word 'Vijayanagara' on the document she was reading made Bindu to linger on the recent past.
Meanwhile in Hyderabad, Anishka was in the room turning the pages of the reports she had worked on for the past two years. She tried to get more detailed information regarding the last report she had worked on -Vijayanagara empire.
The project would continue if it was not for the mess of the strings that tangled them up, labeling the mission Kalakar as discontinued.
On top of that the idol smuggling case caused chaos and created suspicions on insiders. Though the mission was discontinued, they didn't have the heart to stop it. The truth only the team of Bindu knew is that there's a racket going on which has the potential to loot the country's treasure that looks like a rock but in fact are the diamonds.
They still don't know how to prove that they're right without any evidence and witnesses involved. The box is empty, not missing but no one knows who emptied it.
It was a month back when Bindu and her teammates had to part ways. Anishka, Sana, Arjun and Gourav were devastated after reading the notice issued by the Ministry of Culture.
They were asked to submit their analysis and ideas and were interrogated before they left the mission. It was proven that the information was leaked to smugglers and the culprits were arrested but few are still hidden.
Numerous questions pestered them, answers were simple which pointed at a single kingdom that drew all the attention - kingdom of victory that connected the dots. But will the kingdom of victory win over falsehood?
Fabricated lies, masked faces, concealed intentions, disguised in the name of good is ruling the Kali Yug. Can a human overcome the evilness of a human?
What's lamentable is that the rich heritage that survived the foreigners invasion ended up in the hands of natives which landed in art galleries outside the country.
It all started three years ago.
