The protection

Kaito just stared at her. She sighed. "Really BaKaito? That means--" She put her hand on his shoulder. "You know what? Leave it to me. We can play the same game they're playing. Miku's trying to make you jealous? I can make Len jealous."
Kaito flinched. "But why. He's obviously smitten with Miku." Was the jealousy obvious.
Meiko smirked. "Kaito you lovable idiot." Kaito blushed. "Before Miku moved here Len had a crush on my friend Gumi." They would have started dating but Gumi fell in love with Gakupo. They moved away and this week they're coming back to visit!" Meiko explained, eyes gleaming with excitement.
Kaito found himself getting excited. "I look forward to it."
Meiko gave him a hug, the one that made Kaito feel safe. "Let's go home. You have to practice for your performance with a stitched hip."
"Oh right. My hip and waist haven't been hurting much luckily."

"That's because they gave you a strong painkiller. It will wear off tomorrow."
Meiko sat in the drivers seat. "Lets go." They drove home and Kaito crashed on the floor, stretching his limbs as far as he could go. Meiko just watched him. "I'm going to bed. You get familiar with the uh, floor."
"Meiko help me up." She
Smiled at him. "No"
Kaito forced himself off the floor. "Go ahead and go. I'm going to practice some."
Meiko blew him a kiss. "Good night." God, why did she have to do that?! Kaito cleared his head. 0h right practice.
         2 hours later...
Kaito's hip really hurt.  " this song is so creepy," he muttered. He got a text from Krypton. The performance has been moved to tomorrow morning. Good luck.
Kaito gasped. I didn't even have time to practice!
I'm sorry. They had to change the dance for you, and they have all the special effects ready.
Good night. Kaito shut his phone.
"I hate texting," Krypton grumbled. He could never read the meaning behind the words and he prided himself on being able to read Kaito easily. But he knew this performance would destroy Kaito so he had pestered the directors to do it quickly so he would be able to reach out and heal Kaito from the aftermath as soon as possible. I'm so sorry Kaito. I wish you would have listened to me.
Kaito frantically read the lyrics back and forth, no matter how much chills they sent down his spine. He knew he would have to wing it.
A whisper startled him. No surprise there, the lyrics were enough to make anyone jumpy. "Kaito," said a voice. Kaito rolled of the couch. There was no one there. Stupid mind playing tricks on me. He read the lyrics until he knew them like the back of his hand then as he was getting ready for bed he felt a tap on his shoulder. "Meiko, please! The joke is getting old," he snapped
"Im not Meiko." He turned around to see a green haired girl with emerald eyes staring back at him. He tossed the clothes he was holding in the air, and put his hands in front of his face.
Meiko entered the room. "Good job gumi." They hi-fived each other. Kaito didn't come out of his protective stance.
"Meiko what is an unknown girl doing in my room?"
Meiko raised her eyebrows. " I believe that you should answer that question. You aren't cheating on me, by any chance?"
The fright turned into annoyance. "Gumi you have a boyfriend named Gakupo right?"  She giggled and nodded. "Here's exhibit A. And Meiko, you have strange friends."
"Well I am dating you right?"
Before Kaito could return a comment, Gumi piped up, "speaking of, have you done it with him yet?"
Meiko answered with a look at Kaito. "Gumi do you mean the late night activities?" Both girls giggled as Kaito turned cherry red.
"Gumi, no we have not and I don't plan to."
"No Kaito you're mistaking me. It's a tradition for us to see who can stay up the longest, and we play games all night. Whoever loses has to do whatever his or her other tells them to for a day." Gumi smiled, remembering hers.
"Kaito be careful. Meiko always wins," she shot a glare at Meiko who returned it with an innocent smile. And fluttering her eyelashes.
"Sorry, I can't. I have a performance tomorrow morning," he muttered, walking away. He was lying on the couch, unable to sleep from anxiety, when he heard whispers around him. He also knew that there might be a hot water bowl near by. "Putting my hand in hot water? Real mature," he grumbled.
"Face it Kaito you're too nervous to sleep, let's make it relaxing, please?" Meiko murmured, rubbing his back.
"Fine. What do you have planned for me?" Kaito covered himself with the blanket. He was extremely nervous, and Akaito wasn't here yet making him extra jumpy. He remembered what happened last time.
Gumi squealed, "this is going to be so fun!" She turned to Meiko. "Remember the scary stories last time?"
Meiko groaned. "Don't remind me. And we can't do that to Kaito. He's already been through so much." Just when I felt normal.
Gumi frowned. "How about truth or dare??"
Meiko smiled wickedly. "I've got some very good questions,"
"Oh great," gumi and Kaito both said, but each meaning something different.
Gumi clapped her hands. "Shall we begin?" She turned to Kaito.
"Truth or dare?"
" um, dare?" Both girls shared an evil grin.
"Uh can I change my answer?"
"Nope and I dare you to kiss Meiko."
         "Wha-" Kaito spluttered.
"Face it Kaito, that dare was pretty tame,"
"Uh okay..." Kaito shakily took Meiko's hand and leaned in. Meiko held her breath. Kaito hastily gave her a quick peck. The girls could barely hold in their disappointment.
"You call that a kiss?" Chided Meiko. As Kaito blushed scarlet.
"Hush it doesn't matter," gumi nodded to Kaito. " hgo ahead."
"Uh, Meiko truth or dare? "
      "Truth"
Kaito racked his head for questions. He remembered a question.  "Um, if you had to save your phone or your friends, what would you choose?"
"My phone m," Meiko said without remorse. Gumi looked at her through mock hatred. "Thanks. Meiko. I now know not to trust you when I'm falling of a cliff."
The game continued like this. Kaito relaxed visibly. . That stupid performance was the only thing he could think about. He was thankful for a distraction. Oh it will already be done tomorrow.
