Kaito nervously made sure that his tuxedo was on correctly. He had a habit of wearing that backwards. He was ready to get it over with. All he wanted was to get to his parents house to see Akaito and indulge in as much ice cream as possible.
The music turned on and he was in motion before the curtain completely lifted. He looked up and was astonished when he saw miku in something other than twin tails. He almost forgot his lines-- ALMOST. When they were done, Krypton was on the verge of crying with joy. "That was amazing you two!" Then he ushered them backstage for them to wait while him and the editors made the recording better.
Meanwhile Kaito and Miku sat together in a comfortable silence, until she asked, "how did you like the song?" Kaito managed a short laugh. "It was fun. You were beautiful Miku."
"I'm glad to hear it," she said softly. Something in her voice made Kaito look at her. Taking that as an invitation from to continue, she said, "that song doesn't have to be just pretend." as her hand climbed up Kaito's arm.
"Uh," Kaito stammered, as he took his hand away. "I'm not really looking for a relationship right now." Miku looked hurt and angry. "You don't have to lie to me. It's obvious that you like Meiko," she muttered, turning away from Kaito.
      "Meiko's my friend. And so are you. Last I checked. " said Kaito, who was getting upset. "Well if she asked, you would say yes, won't you?!" Miku shouted. Kaito lost his temper. "Yes!" he yelled. "Then we would get married, have kids, and they would grow up!" Miku staggered like she had been punched. Kaito instantly felt bad. "Miku, I'm--"
         "Save it, Kaito," she whispered as she walked away. "You can like anyone you want. I don't care."
      Kaito sighed. He never wanted to hurt Hatsune. She had been the first person to talk to him after he and his brother--- he started. Akaito! He had forgotten about his worries because of all the drama he had been having with Miku. Why am I such a failure, he thought as he ran out of the mansion and to his house.
