Home Coming 🏡

Amruta a Heart Surgeon, has just returned from London for her annual visit to her home during Ganpati festivities in Mumbai.

📍Amruta’s Home

Amruta steps into the living room, dressed in a simple yet elegant sari, her face glowing with the joy of being home. Her mother Bhavani, prepares prasad, while her father, Jayesh, sits on the sofa, reading the newspaper.

Amruta (smiling) : "Mumma, it smells amazing! I’ve missed your cooking so much."

Bhavani (laughing) : "Well, there’s more where that came from! You work so hard in London, you deserve all the modaks you want."

Amruta walks over to her father and gives him a warm hug.

Amruta : "Papa, how’s your health? I hope you’ve been doing those walks I told you about."

Jayesh (playfully) "Of course, doctor madam! Though I have to say, your mother’s food is making it difficult to stay fit."

They share a lighthearted laugh as Amruta takes a seat next to her father. Suddenly, her phone buzzes on the coffee table. She picks it up, sees a message, and smiles.

Amruta : "Mumma, Papa, I’m going to step out for a bit this evening. Riya’s anniversary party is tonight, and she’s been asking me to come. I haven't seen her in ages."

Bhavani : "Of course, beta. Go and enjoy yourself. It’s Ganpati, after all! Time to meet everyone and celebrate."

📍Riya & Raghav's Anniversary Party

Amruta arrives at a chic rooftop venue decorated with soft lights and a serene view of the Mumbai skyline. The air is filled with laughter and the clink of glasses. As she steps in, she spots Riya, her college friend, dressed in a stunning gown, chatting with guests.

Amruta (calling out) : "Riya!"

Riya turns, her face lighting up when she sees Amruta.

Riya : "Amruta! You actually made it!"

The two friends embrace, the warmth of their friendship evident in the hug.

Amruta : "I wouldn’t miss this for the world! How could I, especially after all your reminders?"

Riya (laughing) : "I had to! It’s been so long since we’ve seen each other. How’s London treating you, Dr. Amruta?"

Amruta (smiling) : "Busy as always, but good. This month in India is my little escape."

Riya pulls Amruta towards the table filled with familiar faces from their college days.

Riya : "You remember everyone, right? We were just reminiscing about our college trips. You’ve been missed."

Amruta greets old friends, exchanging stories and laughter. The evening continues with conversations about the past, the present, and everything in between.

Later, Amruta and Riya step aside to have a quiet moment.

Amruta : "Riya, I’m so happy for you. Five years of marriage! It feels like just yesterday we were all hanging out after classes."

Riya (smiling) "Time flies, doesn’t it? And look at you—cardiologist in London! Who would’ve thought?"

Amruta : "We’ve all come so far, haven’t we? But it’s moments like these that make me realize how much I miss home."

Riya (gently) : "Well, you’ll always have us here. We may be far apart, but these reunions bring us right back, don’t they?"

Amruta nods, feeling the warmth of friendship and the connection that time and distance could never break.

The two smile, clink their glasses, and rejoin the celebration, knowing that while life has taken them in different directions, moments like these will always bring them together.

Riya : "Amruta, I have to introduce you to someone. This is Virat, my close friend. He’s a neurologist."

Amruta turns to see Virat—a tall, handsome man in his early 30's with a warm smile and sharp eyes. Dressed in a tailored suit, he exudes confidence and charm.

Amruta (smiling politely): "Hi, Virat. It’s nice to meet you."

Virat (with a playful grin): "Nice to meet you too, Dr. Amruta. I’ve heard a lot about you—the famous cardiologist from London"

Amruta chuckles, feeling a bit shy at his playful tone, but also intrigued by him.

Amruta: "I hope all good things."

Riya (teasingly): "Oh, he’s just being humble. Virat is pretty famous himself in his field. You two doctors have a lot to talk about."

Before Amruta can respond, Riya’s husband calls her over.

Riya: "Oh, excuse me for a moment. You two chat, I’ll be right back."

Riya walks away, leaving Amruta and Virat standing there, a slight awkwardness lingering between them for a moment. But soon, Virat breaks the silence, his eyes sparkling with mischief.

Virat: "So, cardiology, huh? You must really know how to make people’s hearts race."

Amruta laughs, her cheeks flushing slightly at his obvious flirtation.

Amruta (playfully): "I’d say it’s more about calming them down. But I’m sure you must keep people’s minds sharp, being a neurologist and all."

Virat : "I try. Though I think you’ve got my mind a little distracted right now."

Amruta feels her heart skip a beat, surprised at how bold Virat is but finding herself drawn to him. She smiles, feeling a rush of excitement she hasn’t felt in a long time.

Amruta: "Is that so? I’d say we’ve just met, but it seems like you’re already trying to get under my skin."

Virat (smirking): "Not just your skin, Dr. Amruta. Maybe your heart too."

The chemistry between them grows, both of them smiling as they continue to exchange playful remarks. Virat leans a bit closer, his tone shifting slightly, becoming more sincere.

Virat: "You know, I wasn’t expecting this—meeting someone like you tonight. But I’m glad I did."

Amruta feels the butterflies in her stomach again, surprised by the sudden turn in the conversation. She looks at Virat, her pulse quickening.

Amruta (softly): "I wasn’t expecting this either."

They stand in comfortable silence for a moment, the energy between them palpable. Virat, unable to hold back any longer, pulls out his phone.

Virat: "I know this is sudden, but I’d really like to see you again, Amruta. Maybe somewhere quieter, where we can actually talk without Riya hovering around?"

Amruta feels a rush of warmth spread through her, feeling an unexpected connection with him. She takes out her phone and hands it to him.

Amruta: "I’d like that too."

Virat taps his number into her phone, and they exchange phones briefly, saving each other’s numbers.

Virat (grinning): "There. Now you have no excuse not to see me again."

Amruta (teasing): "Who said I needed one?"

They both laugh, the flirtation between them light yet charged with an underlying tension. As the night deepens and the party continues around them, Amruta and Virat remain in their own world for a few more moments.

Eventually, Riya returns, and the group rejoins the party.

But as Amruta leaves the rooftop later that night, her phone vibrates with a message. She smiles as she reads it -

Virat's Message: "Can’t wait to see you again. Soon?"

Amruta types back a quick response, her heart fluttering as she walks out into the cool Mumbai night.

Amruta's Message: "Soon."

And with that, a new chapter begins for Amruta, one that feels exciting and full of possibility.

Amruta returns back at her home after the party, sitting in her bedroom after the long day. The soft hum of the city fills the air outside. She picks up her phone and sees a message from Virat.

Virat’s Message: "Hey, I’ve been thinking about you. Are you free tomorrow evening? Maybe we could grab coffee or dinner?"

Amruta smiles, feeling the same butterflies she had at the party. She types back a quick response.

Amruta’s Message: "I’m free! Dinner sounds great. Where should we meet?"

A few moments pass before her phone vibrates again. But instead of a message, she sees an incoming call from Virat. Her heart skips a beat as she hesitates for a second, then picks up.

Amruta (softly): "Hello?"

Virat (with a playful tone): "Hey, Dr. Amruta. I could’ve texted, but I wanted to hear your voice."

Amruta blushes, feeling a warmth creep up her neck, though she tries to play it cool.

Amruta (smiling): "You wanted to hear my voice, huh? Is that something you do often—call women just to hear them talk?"

Virat (laughing): "Only when they’ve been on my mind all day."

Amruta bites her lip, trying to suppress a grin but feeling her heart race. She leans back on her bed, twirling a strand of hair absentmindedly.

Amruta: "Oh really? And what exactly were you thinking about?"

Virat (teasing): "Mostly about how a certain cardiologist managed to make my heart race. I thought that was supposed to be your job, not the other way around."

Amruta giggles, enjoying the banter. She hadn’t felt this giddy in a long time, and Virat’s smooth, flirty tone was making her blush more than she’d expected.

Amruta: "Well, I can’t help it if you’re easily affected."

Virat: "Oh, it’s not just me. I think you know exactly what you're doing."

Amruta shakes her head, laughing quietly, but her cheeks are burning. There’s something about the way Virat speaks to her that makes her feel light and carefree, like they’ve known each other for much longer.

Amruta (teasing): "You sound very sure of yourself, Dr. Virat. Are you always this smooth?"

Virat (smirking): "Only when I’m talking to someone I really want to impress."

Her heart flutters at his words, and she’s suddenly thankful he can’t see her blushing. She decides to push back a little, wanting to match his energy.

Amruta: "Well, you’ve got my attention. Let’s see if you can keep it."

Virat’s laugh comes through the phone, deep and genuine, and Amruta finds herself smiling again. The conversation continues, flowing easily between playful flirting and getting to know each other better. It’s light, fun, and filled with teasing remarks that make both of them laugh.

Virat (after a pause): "So, dinner tomorrow? I know this great place near Marine Drive. We can watch the waves while we eat. What do you say?"

Amruta: "That sounds perfect."

There’s a brief silence, but it’s comfortable, as if neither of them wants to end the call just yet.

Virat (softly): "I’m really looking forward to seeing you again, Amruta."

Her heart skips a beat at the way he says her name, so familiar and warm.

Amruta (smiling): "Me too, Virat."

After a few more moments of playful banter, they finally say goodnight, but the excitement lingers long after the call ends. Amruta places her phone down, her heart still racing as she falls back against her pillow, smiling at the thought of seeing Virat again.

As she drifts off to sleep, her phone buzzes one last time.

Virat’s Message: "Good Night, Dr. Amruta. See you tomorrow."

Amruta smiles and types back a quick response before turning off her phone.

Amruta’s Message: "Good Night, Dr. Virat."
