Ganpati Aarti 🪔
Amruta woke up, the morning light filtering through her curtains, and immediately blushed as memories of the previous night flooded her mind. She could still feel the warmth of Virat's embrace, the soft kisses he'd planted on her forehead, and the way he had tenderly tucked her in. Her heart raced at the thought of him sneaking into her room, his words echoing in her head. Smiling to herself, she reached over to her bedside table and found the note he had left.
"Sweet dreams, Amu. I'll see you for lunch tomorrow. Sleep well. - Virat"
She blushed even more, folding the note and keeping it safely under her pillow.
Heading downstairs for breakfast, she found her parents, Bhavani and Jayesh, already sitting at the table, sipping tea and talking. She joined them, still smiling from the morning's thoughts.
"Good morning, Amu," Bhavani greeted her, noticing her glowing face. "You seem extra happy today. Any special reason?"
Amruta shook her head quickly, trying to act casual. "No, just slept really well, that's all."
Jayesh chimed in with a smile. "Well, it's good you're in a good mood, because we have some news. Your Asha didi is coming over today. We'll all be together for Ganpati aarti in the evening."
Amruta's face lit up at the mention of her sister. "Asha didi is coming? That's great! I haven't seen her in so long."
"Yes, and we'd like you to stay home today," Bhavani added. "It's a family day, so no going out. We'll have a beautiful aarti, and it'll be nice to spend time together."
Amruta's heart sank slightly as she remembered her plans with Virat. They had agreed to meet for lunch, but now with her family commitments, she wasn't sure how she would manage. She didn't want to disappoint her parents, especially on such a special day, but at the same time, she didn't want to cancel on Virat either.
After a moment of thought, she spoke up. "Can I invite some friends over for the aarti?" she asked, her mind already coming up with a plan. "I think it would be nice for them to join us, and it's been a while since I've spent time with them during Ganpati."
Bhavani and Jayesh exchanged glances and then nodded. "Of course," her father said. "It would be lovely to have your friends here. The more, the merrier."
"Great!" Amruta replied, feeling a wave of relief. Now she could invite Virat over without breaking any promises to her family. She would still get to see him and introduce him to her family in a more casual setting. Excited by the thought, she quickly finished her breakfast, already planning how she would invite him for the aarti.

Amruta dialed Virat's number, her heart fluttering slightly as she waited for him to pick up. The events of the previous night still fresh in her mind, she knew this conversation was going to be an interesting one.
"Hey, Amu," Virat's voice came through, sounding excited. "What's up? Missing me already?"
Amruta smiled, rolling her eyes at his playful tone. "Listen, Virat, I need to talk to you about today. Can you cone over my place today ?
"Wow, so soon?" Virat cut in, teasing her. "Just yesterday, you were saying you wanted to take your time, and now you're inviting me over? Not that I'm complaining-trust me, after last night, I'm ready for whatever you want. I can't wait anymore, I want you home with me soon."
"Stop imagining things!" Amruta scolded, trying to suppress a laugh. "Listen, it's not what you think. My sister, Asha didi, is coming over today, and my parents have asked me to stay home for Ganpati aarti. So, I'm inviting you over, but only as my friend. That's it, nothing more."
Virat's excitement faded slightly, and his voice carried a hint of disappointment. "Oh... as a friend, huh? Okay, got it. I was hoping for something more after last night, but I'll play along. If that's what you want."
Amruta chuckled softly, knowing he was just being playful. "We'll have plenty of time for 'something more' later," she reassured him. "For now, you'll just have to behave and meet my family in a very innocent way."
"Alright, alright," Virat replied, sounding amused but still a little disappointed. "I'll be on my best behavior. Just know it's going to be tough pretending to be just your 'friend' after everything that's happened."
Amruta smiled warmly. "I trust you, Virat. See you soon, okay?"
"Okay, see you soon," he replied, and she could almost hear him smiling through the phone. Hanging up, she felt a mix of excitement and nervousness about how the day would unfold with Virat meeting her family.

As Virat sat at the dining table, casually sipping his morning tea, he couldn't help but smile at the thought of Amruta. He had just gotten off the phone with her, and the excitement of seeing her again was making it hard for him to focus on anything else.
His mother, Babita, noticed his absentminded smile and raised an eyebrow. "What's with that look on your face, Virat?" she asked, intrigued.
Virat chuckled, setting his cup down. "Amruta invited me to her house today for Ganpati aarti. I'm going to meet her family-well, as her 'friend,'" he said, making air quotes with his fingers. "But we both know it's more than that. And soon, I'll bring her here to meet you and Dad."
Babita's eyes widened slightly in surprise, but a knowing smile soon spread across her face. "Well, well. Look at you, already getting invited to the family home," she teased, her tone light but curious.
Virat blushed, caught off guard by his mother's observation. "Mom, it's not like that," he tried to protest, but the heat rising in his cheeks betrayed him. "It's just... different with her, you know?"
Babita laughed softly, clearly enjoying watching her son get flustered. "I can see that. I haven't seen you like this in a long time, Virat. It's sweet, really." She paused for a moment, her expression softening. "But remember, take your time. Getting to know each other's families is a big step, and it sounds like things are moving quickly."
Virat nodded, appreciating her advice. "I know, Mom. We're taking it slow, but I think she's the one. I just feel it, you know?"
Babita smiled warmly at him. "If you're sure about her, then I'm happy for you, Virat. I can't wait to meet her when the time is right."
Virat's heart swelled with happiness, and he stood up, ready to head over to the Chitnis mansion. "I'll make sure to introduce her properly soon. But for now, I've got to get ready. I don't want to keep her waiting."
As he left the house, his thoughts were filled with anticipation. The nerves mixed with excitement, but there was no denying the fact that he couldn't wait to see Amruta again. With a smile on his face, he made his way to the Chitnis mansion, eager for what the day had in store.

As the afternoon sun filtered through the windows, the sound of the doorbell echoed through the house. Amruta's heart skipped a beat as she rushed to the door, excitement bubbling up inside her. She hadn't seen her sister, Asha, in months, and the anticipation of their reunion filled her with joy.
As soon as Amruta opened the door, there stood Asha, her face lighting up with the same excitement. The sisters paused for just a moment, taking each other in, before they rushed into each other's arms.
"Asha didi!" Amruta exclaimed, her voice thick with emotion as she hugged her sister tightly, not wanting to let go.
"Amu!" Asha replied, her voice trembling slightly as she held her younger sister close. "It's been so long. I've missed you so much."
Tears welled up in both their eyes, and they held each other for what felt like forever, neither of them saying anything, just savoring the warmth and familiarity of their embrace. Amruta could feel the weight of time and distance melting away as they stood there together, united once again.
Pulling back slightly, Asha cupped Amruta's face, brushing away the tears that had escaped. "Look at you," she said with a smile, her eyes still glistening. "You've grown so much. How did we let so much time pass?"
Amruta shook her head, smiling through her tears. "I know, right? I missed you every day. It's just not the same without you around."
Asha sighed, nodding as she hugged her sister again. "Well, I'm here now, and we're going to make up for all the time we lost. I'm not going anywhere for a while."
Amruta smiled, her heart full of love and gratitude. "I'm so glad you're home, didi. I've missed our talks, everything."
They pulled back once more, both wiping their eyes as they laughed through their emotions. Asha looked around the house, the familiar sights and smells of their family home bringing back fond memories. "This house hasn't changed a bit," she remarked. "It feels like I never left."
Amruta nodded, linking her arm with Asha's as they made their way inside. "Come on, let's sit and catch up. There's so much to talk about."
As they settled in the living room, their parents, Bhavani and Jayesh, joined them, the atmosphere filled with warmth and happiness. The house buzzed with laughter, stories, and memories as the family came together once again. Amruta felt a sense of completeness, having her sister home at last.

As the afternoon rolled on, Amruta found herself pacing around the living room, ensuring everything was ready for the Ganpati aarti. She had invited not only Virat but also her close friend Riya and Riya's husband, Raghav, for the event. It was a big day, and Amruta was feeling a mix of excitement and nerves, especially since her family would be meeting Virat for the first time.
Riya and Raghav were the first to arrive, with Riya instantly noticing the anticipation on Amruta's face. After exchanging greetings, Riya pulled Amruta aside. "Okay, spill," she whispered, a mischievous smile on her lips. "What's going on with you and Virat? I can tell by the way you've been acting lately."
Amruta smiled shyly, biting her lip. "Well... Virat and I, we're... together," she confessed, her voice barely above a whisper. "But we're keeping it low-key in front of my family, so please don't tease or mention anything. They just think he's a friend for now."
Riya raised her eyebrows, a gleam of excitement in her eyes. "Oh my god! I knew it! You two have such great chemistry. Don't worry, I won't say anything in front of your parents. But trust me, I'm dying to tease you both."
Amruta laughed softly, relieved that Riya understood. "Thanks, Riya. I just want them to get to know him without the pressure of our relationship being out in the open right away."
Just as they finished talking, the doorbell rang. Amruta's heart skipped a beat-she knew it was Virat. She quickly composed herself and went to answer the door, finding Virat standing there, looking handsome and a bit nervous. Behind him, a small smile tugged at his lips as their eyes met.
"Hey," Amruta greeted him, her voice soft and welcoming. "Come in."
Virat stepped inside, and immediately the warm, inviting energy of the Chitnis mansion enveloped him. He was greeted by Amruta's parents, Bhavani and Jayesh, who smiled warmly, welcoming him into their home. Asha, Amruta's sister, was there as well, her sharp eyes observing the new guest with curiosity.
"So, you must be Virat," Bhavani said with a kind smile. "Amruta's mentioned you. It's nice to finally meet you."
Virat returned the smile, feeling a wave of relief as the family seemed welcoming. "Thank you for having me. I've heard a lot about your family, and it's an honor to be here for the aarti."
Jayesh nodded approvingly, and Asha, while quiet, seemed to be observing him with a hint of approval too. They all gathered in the living room, where the atmosphere felt comfortable and relaxed. Virat fit in naturally, his easygoing charm and respectful nature winning over the family almost immediately.
As the Ganpati aarti began, the room was filled with the soothing chants and prayers, creating a sacred and serene atmosphere. Virat stood next to Amruta, occasionally glancing at her, feeling grateful for the opportunity to be a part of such an important family tradition. Despite the formality of the event, their connection was undeniable. Every now and then, Amruta would catch his eye and smile, her heart warmed by how easily he had blended into her world.
After the aarti, everyone gathered for snacks and light conversation. Bhavani and Jayesh seemed impressed by Virat, asking him about his family and his background. Virat handled the questions with ease, never faltering, and it was clear that the Chitnis family had taken a liking to him.
As the evening wound down, Amruta felt a sense of relief. Her family liked Virat, and everything had gone smoothly. She glanced over at Riya, who gave her a knowing smile but kept her promise not to tease in front of the family.
