.Chapter 5: what I remember.
I get back too my room after having showered and changed into an over sized t-shirt. I lay down, trying to catch some sleep as not fighting the Umbrellas is a lot of hard work. And unlike my siblings, I actually care about my beauty sleep. I fall asleep, seeing me and the boy in a diner.
Men in black have guns pointed at our heads.
"That was fast." says Five as he takes a sip of coffee, moving to pick up the knife on the counter. "Thought I'd have more time before they found me."
"They wanna talk." says the man in front, the leader of the group.
"I have nothing to say." says Five nonchalantly.
"You think I wanna shoot a kid. Go home with that on my conscience." says the leader of the group.
"Oh, I wouldn't worry about that." says Five as he grabs the butter knife fully off the counter. "You won't be going home."
I jump over the counter just as the leader fires off his gun. Five's already gone, blinking out of the way.
Five reappears on the leaders back, plunging the butter knife into the man's neck.
The others start to shoot at their boss, but Five's already gone.
I crawl around the counter to see Five now laying on one of the tables, "Hey Assholes!" yells Five.
The men shoot at Five, but he's already blinked away again.
The man closest to me turns to shoot. I grab a knife from a nearby table and fling it at him, hitting him in the neck.
Five blinks towards me after he ran between two masked men, causing them too shoot each other.
"You okay?" Five asks worriedly.
"Yea, I'm fine." I say breathlessly. Grabbing his tie off his neck, I move towards one of the men and pull the tie around the neck and wait for them to stop struggling.
"Why didn't you use your powers?" Five asks as he snaps the neck of one of the men.
"Because..." I start. Finding a napkin to clean my hands.
"Because why?" Five presses on. "You know you can talk to me."
"Because the last time I used my powers, I opened a portal to hell and was stuck there for centuries." I say. A blinking green light catches my attention.
I walk over to the light, to see it connected to a device with a blinking dot on it.
"Seems you were being tracked, darling." I say.
Five sits at the counter and hands me a knife as I sit down as well. "You know, you won't go back there again. I promise you."
I cut open a slit on his arm and reach in to find a small blinking device.
"You don't know that Five." I say, throwing the device on the ground and smashing it with my shoe.
"I would never let you go back there again." Five says, following me out of the diner.
I'm thrown into another dream or nightmare as soon as the last one ends.
Five brings the axe over his shoulder and walks into the room. Catching the attention of AJ Carmichael and the rest of the board members.
"Let's move on to article 17, please." AJ states, now noticing me and Five's presence. "You!"
"What are they doing..." one of the women in the room asks.
Five smirks as I stand against the wall smirking while twirling my knives.
"Call security!" AJ shouts, motioning towards the woman nearest the phone. Five who's closer to the woman, brings the axe down on the woman's arm, leaving her to bleed out. "No!"
"What...?" another woman asks, not knowing who the two of us are and why we're doing this.
The room breaks into chaos. Five blinks around the room, killing multiple people at once. I throw my knives, hitting each target right where I want to hit them. Hitting them with the same precision as Diego.
Under a minute later, both Five and I appear on the table, standing in front of AJ, who cowers under the table.
Five stands covered in blood, same as me, though I don't try to hide the smirk on my face.
"She sent you, didn't she?" AJ asks, trying to save his life from the two psychotic teens in front of him.
"Does it really matter now?" I say smirking and twirling my knives around.
"Whatever she offered you, I will double it, triple it." AJ pleads.
"We're not doing this for money." Five states, raising his axe to hit AJ.
"But we will take it, if you're offering." I grin.
Before either of us can do anything, the attendant from before shrieks and knocks both of us to the ground.
Five grunts as he fights the woman off. "Get off me!"
"You're gonna pay for that vending machine, little mister." the attendant says.
AJ runs off as Five and the attendant fight, not realizing that I am following him with a smile taking over my face.
Five sees AJ with two knives in his legs. One in each.
"Surely we can come to some form of agreement," AJ pleads, slowly losing blood. "that benefits both parties. Quid pro quo? What do you say?"
"Why not?" I smirk, walking around AJ in a circle, like a lion hunting my pray.
"Here's your quid." Five says, hitting AJ's left leg, sending him to the ground.
"Here's your pro." I smirk as Five hits AJ's right leg, sending him to a kneeling position on the ground.
"No! No! Please don't!" AJ pleads, already knowing his fate.
"Here's your quo." Five smirks, smacking AJ out of the fishbowl head, leaving him to flop around on the floor.
Five lowers his head to the floor before throwing it back up, causing his Adams apple to bop.
I just stare at the motion, not knowing if the room was getting hotter or if I was just hot.
"I'll...uh, grab a plastic bag, and some...uh, water." I mumble, my throat dry with the thought of Five covered in blood.
I'm pulled into another dream. Though this one is most definitely a nightmare.
"Vanya, there you are. What is going on?" asks Allison, having now caught up to me.
"What are you guys doing here?" asks Vanya, stopping her playing. The wind starts to die down now.
"We came to find you. Are you okay?" asks Allison.
I look around the room and walk towards the windows as Allison and Vanya continue talking. I notice that the wind has started to die down outside causing the trees to sway less and the leaves to flutter back towards the ground.
Tuning back into the conversation I catch the most recent thing that was said between my superstar sister and my ordinary sister.
"I mean... I made those things happen. With my powers." says Vanya, somewhat confidently. "Turns out I've had them all this time. It's weird, huh?"
I don't try to hide the shock that's on my face when I walk back over to the two. Though Allison looks shocked, she soon looks guilty for something.
"It's in..incredible." gasps Allison.
"That's great V. You can be one of us, fucked up superheros." I say, smirking.
"But?" starts Allison, looking towards me slightly scared.
I furrow my brows not knowing why she's scared and not happy for our sister.
"Ca...Can we do this in the car?" suggests Allison.
"Why?" questions both me and Vanya at the same time.
"You're not gonna wanna hear it." states Allison as calm as possible.
"Well, that's never stopped you two before." snides Vanya, causing me and Allison to both wince slightly.
"Leonard Peabody? His real name is Harold Jenkins." says Allison slowly, as if she's talking to a scared animal and doesn't want it to run away. "Remember when I couldn't find anything in the library on Leonard? It's because Leonard Peabody doesn't exist. Harold Jenkins does."
"He was in prison for 12 years. He murdered his father when he was 13." I state calmly.
"This is... insane." mutters Vanya, not knowing how to react to our news. "His dad was an engineer at the..."
"We have the police report in the car, Vanya. I can show you." says Allison calmly, wanting to calm our distraught sister like she does with her own daughter.
"I don't, I don't understand." explains Vanya, not wanting to believe what were saying.
"Leonard, Harold, I... I know it doesn't make any sense, and I know it sounds crazy, but we were in his house." Allison explains.
"Don't make us sound creepy Allison." I say sarcastically, receiving a glare from both sisters.
"He has pictures of all of us, with our eyes gouged out." Allison continues, ignoring my comment.
"Wh..What? I.." stutters Vanya.
"I promise, we will tell you everything in the car, but it is not safe." comforts Allison.
"No, stop." exclaims Vanya, standing up and moving towards a chair.
"Look, um... I can't imagine how hard it is for you to hear this... how you feel right now, but I..." stutters out Allison. "I love you, and I... I just... I wanna be here for you, we want to be here for you, as your sisters."
"There's just no way. I love him. This just doesn't make any sense." says Vanya, holding her head and starting to get overwhelmed. I look around to see that the wind has started to pick up again, causing the wind chimes on the porch to swing again, the trees to sway, and the leaves to fly through the air.
"And this power, I...I don't know. I don't know what's going on." admits Vanya, fear in her voice. "I don't know what to do."
I look over to Allison for help with comforting our sister when I see her eyes slightly glazed over. "I understand now." mumbles Allison quietly, me and Vanya almost missed it due to the wind.
"When we were four." starts Allison, not meeting either of our eyes. I think back to when we were four, as Allison continues her story. "Dad told us you were sick. You had to be isolated. We were so young."
I gasp, remembering what Allison was talking about. "None of us knew to question it." I say suddenly.
"But then he asked me to do something. I never understood...." says Allison, solemnly. "until now. He made me an accomplice."
"Not just you, me as well." I say sadly.
"You guys did this to me?" asks Vanya, angrily.
"I...I... I didn't realize." explains Allison.
"You knew this whole time?" exclaims Vanya, getting more angry. "That I had powers?"
"No, no! I didn't really understand until we came today, until I saw it." I say, trying to keep my voice steady and calm.
"Well, now it all makes sense. This is why you guys never wanted me around." Vanya grumbles out angrily.
"What! No." exclaims Allison. We both gape at Vanya, not understanding how she can accuse us of this.
"You couldn't risk me threatening your place in the house, your... your dominance." yells Vanya.
"You could have never threatened my dominance, I was more special than any of you." I say coldly, not wanting to continue being kind to her.
"That is not true." reasons Allison, still trying to hold onto her sister.
"You couldn't handle the fact that dad may find me special." yells Vanya. The wind starts to pick up around us. The cabin starts to shake along with everything that is inside and around us.
"You are special, with or without your powers." says Allison, slowly losing her patience with Vanya.
"Don't... don't say that!" yells Vanya, having thrown out all civility.
"We have a chance to start over." I yell harshly.
"You both destroyed my life!" yells Vanya.
"Oh, please, Vanya." scoffs Allison, having lost her motherly tone. "Everything is out in the open. We can move on!"
"Oh, I'm moving on. Just not with you both, with Leonard." states Vanya calmly, the wind continues to pick up.
"With Harold you mean." explains Allison.
"With Leonard. The only person who has ever loved me for me." states Vanya. The wind suddenly picks up, causing a ringing to sound out causing Vanya to slightly laugh. "Look me in the eye and tell me you aren't threatened now."
The wind whistles around us, the cabin moving some more. "I don't wanna argue with you." yells Allison over the wind.
"Then go!" yells Vanya. "And take daddy's little girl with you."
"We're only trying to help you." I state calmly, smiling with how worked up she's getting.
"I don't want your help." yells Vanya.
"Vanya, we love you." cry's Allison, trying to get through to Vanya again.
"Stop saying that!" Vanya continues to yell.
I look around to see the wind has really picked up. "Are you... are you okay?" I ask, slightly concerned.
"I said go!" yells Vanya.
"Please don't make us do this." yells Allison. She locks eyes with me as I move around Vanya and towards the windows. I get my hands ready, ready for Allison to start.
The glass smashes behind me. "I heard a rumor..." says Allison, her voice echoing towards Vanya.
My hands heat up until there's flames in them.
Vanya swishes her bow across Allison's neck, slicing her throat open. She turns towards me and turns my fire towards me and the cabin, lighting the cabin on fire and knocking me out the window.
I fall to the ground as I watch the cabin go up in flames. I try to stand up, only to fall back to the ground, having the wind knocked out of me. I see Harold and Vanya running out of the house.
I lock eyes with Harold as I go to shoot fire at him with the last of my strength when I feel a sharp pain in my abdomen. Looking down I see blood leaking from my stomach.
I wake up gasping for breath. I grab onto my side and pull my hand away, seeing no blood.
'It was just a dream.' I think to myself. I run my hand down my face and through my hair, trying to calm myself down.
I step out of my bed and walk to the mirror in my room. Pulling up my shirt, I see a scar in the exact place that I was shot in my nightmare.
I walk to my wardrobe and grab some clothes. I grab my white and blue baby doll tee, some blue jeans with white hearts, white socks, and my white air force 1's. I walk to my bathroom and change. I put my hair up in a messy bun and walk towards my window.
I look around to make sure no one is watching, looking at the security camera in my room and making sure the red light is off. I open the window and step onto the ladder. I close my window before heading down the ladder and heading off to my dad's hotel, where mom told me the Umbrella's checked into.
