Just wanted to clarify one thing... nanu talks about Naina in his diary because somewhere in his heart he always believed that Naina is the girl for his grandson... in his first note, he had mentioned about his faith that now Naina is with him... probably because he felt that Sameer would be able to take care of business only when he has a stability in his life, and his experienced eyes saw the hint of that stability coming through this girl...

Also, some liberty can be taken as it is a fiction... a figment of imagination 😊😊

"Swati, ab sab theek hai na?" Naina asked her friend when they were alone in the kitchen.

Swati turned toward her, a wide smile conveying her happiness even before her words could clarify.

"Naina, thank you so much. Pata hai Munna ko itna pachtava hai apne aise vyavahar ka ki ab toh woh zaroorat se zyada dhyan deta hai mujh pe." The spread of colour on her cheeks left no doubt in Naina's mind.

She walked to Swati, holding her hands, "Main sach mein bohot khush hun tere liye... teri hansi kahin kho gayi thi... ab dekh, kaise khil gaya hai chehra."

"Tum log agar yeh sab nahi karte toh shayad meri zindagi mein sirf ghutan hi rehti... aur iss ghutan ke saath pata nahi main kab tak zinda reh paati." Swati sighed, thinking about the the last couple of years.

Naina smacked her on the shoulder, "Bakwas mat kar... agar tu pehle bata deti toh yeh naubat hi nagi aati... aur dubara kabhi aise bola na toh maar padegi... pagal kahin ki."

Swati hugged Naina, holding her real tight. She returned the hug with same affection.

Sameer was taking Munna to his room to show the samples he had brought from office when they crossed the kitchen.

Both stopped in their tracks, staring at their girls locked in an embrace. They both felt a pang of jealousy.

"Swati ki jagah mujhe hona chahiye tha." Sameer muttered.

"Naina ki jagah mujhe hona chahiye tha." Munna sighed.

"Yeh ladkiyan jhat se ek doosre ko gale laga leti hain, par humse gale lagne se pehle sau baar sochti hain." He pondered.

"Meri wali toh nahi sochti." Sameer grinned proudly.

Munna gave him an envious look, "Shaadi ho gayi hai teri isliye... fir bhi aise kitchen mein khule aam tujhe bhi yeh mauka nahi milega."

Sameer was instantly reminded of the day they were trying to make alu parantha... or rather, she was trying to make... her hands smeared in dough had taken all other needs out of his mind.

"Kahan kho gaya?" Munna shook him out of his thoughts.

Sameed jerked his head, trying to rid himself of the images that were not good for his system presently.

"Main toh yahin hun, lekin tu abhi abhi neend se jaaga hai aur abhi se badi badi baatein karne laga." He changed the topic.

"Kya matlab?" Munna gave him a perplexed look.

"Kahan tha yeh pyar itne time se... tu toh haath pakadne se bhi door bhagta tha... ab chaar din mein tere sapne itne upar pohoch gaye?" Sameer quirked up his brow.

"Ab woh... bataya toh tha." Munna fumbled.

Sameer looped an arm around his shoulder, "Chal koi nahi... jab jago tabhi savera."

Pandit was upset as Preeti had to cancel her visit at the last moment. Bela's brother had come to visit them from the village and they had to discuss about the upcoming marriage.

All friends had a good time... talking, joking, pulling each other's leg.

"Naina, ab inn logo ki shaadi mein sirf ek mahina bacha hai... humein bhi taiyari karni chahiye na." Sameer told her later when they were in their room.

She was brushing her hair before coming to the bed.

"Humein? Kya taiyari?" She turned sideways to look at him.

"Shopping nahi karogi? Itne saare functions hain, tumhe naye kapde aur baaki sab bhi lena chahiye." He suggested.

She settled on the bed next to him, "Abhi toh itna sab liya tha apni shaadi pe... mere paas kapde, zevar sab kuch hai... tumhe kuch lena hai toh shopping kar lenge."

He shifted to be with her, holding her around the waist, "Mujhe jo chahiye woh hai mere paas."

His nose tickled the soft skin under her ear. Holding his arm, she tried to stop him so that they could finish talking... but his hands and lips were already at work.

She had no words left when he pushed her down on the bed.

Next day in office, Khurana came to Sameer's cabin first thing in the morning.

"Sir, iss partnership ke hisaab se aap fifty percent ka munafa share karenge mere saath... yehi likha hai na papers mein? Ek baar aapke muh se sunna chahta hun." The cunning eyes showed disbelief at the moment.

"Bilkul yehi likha hai... aapke raw material se jo bhi production hoga uske order pe hum aur aap fifty percent ke partners hain." Sameer stated in a calm voice.

Khurana quickly signed the papers, and shook hands with Sameer.

After he was gone, Munshiji smiled, looking at the closed door, "Ab humein chinta karne ki koi zaroorat nahi hai."

Board of directors issued the contract to Khurana's company, making him excited.

The week went by peacefully in the office. They visited Chachaji on Sunday, making list of things that needed to be done for the wedding. Together, they finalised the card that had to be printed. Since the functions were to be conducted at home and in the open space down below, they called up the contractor to know about the arrangements he could provide. Attending Rahul's marriage and preparing for his own had given quite a bit of experience to Sameer, thus making it easier for him to give valuable inputs.

Naina and Preeti made a list of things that needed to be bought for her, along with Bela.

One day in the middle of next week, Sameer had to visit the contractor with Anand for finalising the decorations. He told Naina that he would be back from office by lunch time. Around afternoon, the sky was suddenly covered with dark clouds. Strong winds brought a promise of rain though it hadn't started yet. Anand called up Naina to inform that they must cancel the visit today owing to bad weather. By the time she called up Sameer's office, the receptionist informed her that he had already left.

She stood at the balcony door, enjoying the breeze when the radio in the room started to play a song that made her jerk back. A distant memory flashed in her mind... and her eyes brightened.

She ran to the kitchen, "Ramdhari bhaiya, aap ghar chale jaiye... tez baarish aane wali hai... baad mein mushkil hogi."

After a momentary hesitation, he agreed and left shortly as he had already prepared the dinner.

She went about to do what she had planned.

When Sameer reached home, it was just drizzling but wind was cool and strong. After a long spell of hot days, this weather felt good. He wished he could spend this time with his beautiful wife, but he had to go out with chachaji.

The open main door wasn't a surprise as mostly it was open during the day. Surprise was the chit kept on dining table when he reached there.

Darwaza band kar do

He recognised Naina's handwriting.

After shutting and bolting the door, he peeked into the kitchen. There was no one.

"Naina." He entered their room.

It was empty as well.

He was about to call out her name again when his eyes fell on another piece of paper. He quickly picked it up.

Terrace

One word filled him up with feverish anticipation. He ran up the stairs, taking two at a time.

"Naina?" His eyes scanned the surroundings, stopping at the door.

She had removed cushions from the swing, to save them from getting wet. But he couldn't see her anywhere. He went ahead, looking around.

The sound made him turn. There was still no sign of her but the song made his heart jump in a wild frenzy.

paani ne aag lagayi
Aag lagi dil mein toh
dil ko teri yaad aayi

His mouth fell open as she emerged from behind the cemented column. She was wearing the yellow saree they had bought together in Mumbai, and dancing to the tunes of this song. The wind made her open hair fly as she swayed. The saree had started to get wet, sticking to her form with the pressure of wind. She was wearing loads of bangles... and red lipstick.

He was as inflamed as the colour of her bright saree.

Teri yaad aayi toh
jal utha mera bheega badan
ab tu hi bata o sajan
main kya karu

His eyes widened as she slid her hands along her sides suggestively, moving along with the lyrics.

Dooba dariya mein
khada main saahil par
Tu bijli bankar giri
mere dil par
Chali yeh pagal pawan
main kya karun

He joined her... gyrating to the lines that seemed to be conveying exact condition of his heart.

The rain started to get heavier... so did the fire between them as they danced.

Sameer was still in his office clothes. His blazer was soaked in the downpour now. The white shirt under it stuck to his chest. The wet locks kept falling on his forehead, or flying in the wind when he turned against it.

Naina's was equally drenched. The saree had turned transparent. The way it clung to her, it highlighted the delightful curves and bends. Her enchanting, sensuous moves made his mind fog up with unfathomable heat while his ears buzzed with the pounding blood in his veins.

He wondered if it was possible to emit smoke as the cold raindrops fell on their burning bodies. But then, they were already smouldering with the combined effect of weather, song, their appearance, proximity, freedom to savour each other...

Not able to hold himself any longer, his arms went around her waist, pulling her closer. Her head tilted back, leaving a vast expanse of her white and wet skin in his vision. His lips landed on the invitation. The heat transfered from his lips to her skin and from her skin to him. The drops sizzled between them. His hands slipped behind her, pressing hard as his lips covered every inch of her skin before stopping at the edge of her saree. He remembered the pin, and quickly worked up to remove it from her shoulder. She did not resist when the pallu fell behind her.

He watched in fascination as the drops of water fell on her smooth, glittering skin, rolling down her front, disappearing in the hem of her neckline. The way fabric stretched over her curves made his nerves strung to the ends.

"Neeche chalein?" His voice was so hoarse, he couldn't recognise it himself.

She shook her head.

He pressed her more into himself, pleading, "Naina, please."

She started to move, taking him along. He thought she had agreed to his request. But she directed him to the room next to the terrace. It was a small room with simple, basic furniture... to be used in emergency. Today it looked different though.

She had put up a silk sheet on the narrow bed. There were lit candles all over. The room smelled of jasmine though he couldn't see flowers anywhere. But then, he didn't need them anymore. Her fragrance was intoxicating enough for him.

Her wet face, and red lips glowed in the warm candle lit room. The yellow of her clothes made her look like a blazing fire...  a fire that was drawing him to it... a fire that was ready to consume him... a fire that he was dying to succumb to...

When his lips captured hers, the heat in the room almost fogged up the windows while the raindrops pattered against the glass panes from outside.

It was an hour later when suddenly Sameer realised why he had come home early.

"Oh no, mujhe toh chachaji ke saath jaana tha." He sat up, tensed.

"Unka phone aaya tha... aaj mausam ki wajah se cancel kar diya jaana... maine office mein phone kiya tha par tab tak tum nikal chuke the." Naina smiled at his befuddled state.

He instantly relaxed, turning to look at her mischievously, "Oh, isliye yeh saari taiyari ki thi... mauke ka faayda uthane ke liye Ramdhari ki bhi chutti kar di."

"Mauke ka faayda tumne uthaya hai... main toh sirf gaane sun rahi thi chat pe." She said nonchalantly.

"Achha? Sirf gaane sunne ke liye yeh sab?" He raised one brow, roving his eyes around the room.

"Hato." She blushed, turning to the other side.

The sheet that was over her slipped down, making her entire back open to his view. His eyes sparkled at the sight. Leaning, he placed a light kiss on her lower back. Her gasp and jerk surprised him. Holding her shoulders to keep her still, he placed another kiss. Her skin erupted in goosebumps. He could see the tiny hair stand as his lips touched her again.

This new discovery that she was so reactive to this touch made him exultant... and he continued to do it till she could take it no more, turning over and pulling him down to claim his mouth in a deep, hard kiss that left him with no doubt about her intentions.

They only left the room at night when they were ravenous after spending whole afternoon in a frenzied fervour.

Next update tomorrow morning.
