Meethe meethe geet mitwa

I have added Naina's outfit pic from yesterday's chapter... this is what she is wearing for sangeet

Preeti huffed and looked the other side.

Pandit leaned a little ahead, trying to see her expression, "Arre Preeti, main toh aise hi keh raha tha... woh filmon mein hota hai na aisa... wahin dekha hai... warna mujhe kya pata... maine kisi ladki se baat tak nahi ki kabhi... tumhe maloom toh hai... ab please gussa mat ho... aaj toh sangeet hai hamara... dekho na, iss dance ki wajah se main abhi tak yahin baitha hun jabki khane ki table wahan hai."

She turned sharply at him, "Toh tumhe yahan baithne se zyada pasand hai wahan rehna? Khane ki table ke paas?"

He gulped, realising that he had again committed a blunder.

Before he could say anything, Preeti got up and walked away. He looked around, to see if someone was watching him, before he could run after her.

The sound of music spread in the air, making all eyes turn towards the stage... and he remained seated.

First performance was by Pooja didi and Naina.

Kabse aayen hain tere dulhe raja
ab der na kar jaldi aaja

From the other end, Preeti looked back at the stage.

Naina indicated with her eyes to make her go back to Pandit. Nodding, she went back and sat down quietly, without glancing at him.

As Pooja didi tied a scarf around her head to be the dulha in song, Pandit looked at Preeti with a sheepish smile, mouthing a sorry. When she didn't respond, he held her hand. She twisted her hand to free herself... he linked their fingers, making his grasp tighter.

As the girls on stage danced to next stanza, Pandit looked intently into Preeti's eyes.

Tere ghar aaya
main aaya tujhko lene
Dil ke badle mein
dil ka nazrana dene
Meri har dhadkan kya bole hai sun sun sun

He lifted her hand, trying to put it on his heart. With a shy smile, Preeti pulled it back. Pandit let out a relieved exhale, holding her hand tighter as the next lines appeared to be especially for her.

Saajan ji ghar aaye
saajan ji ghar aaye
dulhan kyon sharmaye
saajan ji ghar aaye

Preeti looked up at him. He was lost in the eyes that were filled with love.

Ay dil chalega ab na koi bahana
gori ko hoga ab saajan ke ghar jaana
maathe ki bindiya kya bole hai
sun sun sun

Two of them did not hear the song any further. Only at the end, loud applause made them come out of their trance.

Next dance was by Munna and Swati.

Chal pyar karegi
Haan ji haan ji
mere saath chalegi
na ji na ji

Arre tu haan kar ya naa kar
teri marzi soniye
hum tujhko uthakar le jayenge
doli mein bithakar le jayenge
hum ghar mein kahin chup jayenge
sang tere nahi hum jayenge

Aankhon se kajal le jayenge
Zulfon ke badal le jayenge
Arre hum aaye hain door se
Yun wapas na jayenge
Hum apni sajaniya le jayenge
hum apni dulhaniya le jayenge

Hum tujhko uthakar le jayenge
doli mein bithakar le jayenge

At the end of the song, Munna picked up his bride to be, while Pandit whistled from the cheering audience.

When they came down from the stage, Preeti hugged Swati, appreciating their performance... and Munna's unexpected gesture, as it was not a part of choreography.

"Tumhe kya hua? Aise muh fula ke kyon khade ho?" Naina was surprised to see a sulking Sameer as she went to have water.

"Tumne yeh dance Pooja didi ke saath kyon kiya... mere saath bhi toh kar sakti thi na." He grumbled.

Her voice was deep when she replied, "Kyonki hum bhool jaate ki hum sabke saamne dance kar rahe hain... aur ek doosre ki aankhon mein kho jaate... isliye hamara akele koi dance nahi rakha aaj."

His eyes turned soft as he stepped closer... he would definitely get lost in the hypnotic charm of her beauty.

"Toh tum sambhal leti mujhe." His voice was throaty.

"Aur mujhe kaun sambhalta?" Her gaze slipped to his dark jaw.

His arms itched to go around her, his chest ached to press her against him, his lips throbbed to feel the softness of her skin...

"Maasi, mummy ke paas jaana hai." A tiny hand pulled at her sleeve.

"Golu? Tum yahan kya kar rahe ho?" She quickly got a hold on herself, sitting down to match the height with the toddler.

"Mujhe ice cream chahiye." He pouted.

"Chalo main khilati hun." She stood up, giving a finger to him to hold.

Golu raised his arms, asking to be picked up.

Before Naina could do so, Sameer scooped up the little boy, "Aaj aapko ek nahi do ice cream khilayenge."

"Do? Mummy toh nahi khane deti do do... aap kyon khila rahe ho?" Golu was excited.

"Kyonki aap mere sabse favourite ho na ghar mein." Sameer kissed his chubby cheek.

"Thank you, abse aap bhi mere favourite ho." Golu wrapped his tiny arms around Sameer, giving him a sloppy kiss.

"Chee... ab se mein aapko kissi nahi dunga... yeh chubhti hai." Immediately distancing himself from Sameer's face, the little boy frowned.

Naina laughed as Sameer rubbed his cheek, making a sad face.

Golu happily ate from one cup while Naina stood holding the other one, feeding him in between.

"Mujhe nahi khilaoge?" Sameer asked.

"Nahi, yeh meri hai... aapko khaani hai toh apni lo." Golu held his cup away from Sameer.

"Achha main aapki maasi se le leta hun." He bent his head towards Naina.

She fed him one spoon from the cup she was holding.

"Haww, aap itne bade hoke maasi ke haath se khaate ho." Golu smirked as Naina wiped the corner of his lip with a tissue.

"Main bada kahan hun... dekho aap ke barabar hi toh hun." Sameer waved one palm over their heads to show the level.

Golu gave a weary look to Naina, "Kitne buddhu hain mausaji... inko bolo yeh bade hain... inka baby hoga chota toh."

Naina gasped.

Sameer's eyes flew wide.

"Kahan hai aapka baby batao." Golu craned his neck.

"Umm... woh yahan nahi hai." Sameer said with a lopsided smile, enjoying the deepening colour on Naina's cheeks.

"Toh leke aao... main khelunga uske saath." Golu was adamant to make his maasi blush to the roots.

"Aap mere saath khel lo." Sameer dipped his head to the side.

Golu slapped his hand on the forehead, "Buddhu, aap toh mausaji ho... aapke saath kaise khelunga... aap toh office jaate ho na."

Sameer watched in amazement... the way he said buddhu, the way he slapped his forehead... it was like a tiny version of Naina... probably it was a thing in all sisters which Golu had picked up from his mom.

"Maasi, inko kuch nahi pata, aap batao aapka baby kahan hai?" Golu turned his attention to Naina.

"Kitni baatein karte ho tum... chup karke ice cream khao... saari pighal gayi hai." Naina tried to divert his mind.

"Arre Golu tum logon ke saath hai aur main isse sab jagah dhoond rahi hun." Pooja didi came over looking for her son.

"Mumma, dekho maasi mujhe daant rahi hain." Golu whined the moment he saw her.

"Jhoote, maasi tujhe do do ice cream khila rahi hain aur tu shikayat kar raha hai?" Pooja didi showed fake annoyance.

"Sachhi mein daanta... maine toh bas yeh poocha tha inka baby... "

"Golu, aapko dance nahi dekhna sabka, chalo wahan chalte hain... Naina, Pooja didi, aap log bhi chalo." Sameer interrupted the naughty kid, seeing Naina go crimson again.

Pooja didi took the child, "Tum log chalo main iske haath saaf karwa ke laati hun."

"Umm Naina, kya sabhi bachche itni baatein karte hain?" Sameer asked in a soft voice as they walked together towards the seating area.

"Mujhe nahi pata." She said with her eyes on the ground.

"Agar karte hain toh bohot mazaa ayega... main aur meri beti milke tumhe khoob tang karenge." He stopped, holding her arm to make her look at him.

He cheeks flared up even more as she gave him a shocked look... before running away.

He ran his fingers through his hair, grinning.

A few relatives and some cousins of Munna Pandit had given a couple of performances. Now it was the turn of Preeti and Pandit.

"Mujhe dekh ke karna... khud toh practice ki nahi tumne." Preeti directed him as they stood up.

"Main toh hamesha hi tumhe dekhta hun." Pandit looked at her dreamily.

"Offo, dance mein keh rahi hun." Preeti frowned at him.

"Tum log jhagda baad mein kar lena pehle dance kar lo." Swati called out from the adjacent seat.

Pandit held Preeti's hand and walked to the stage before she could say anything more.

The song Sameer and Naina had chosen for them was not a new one but it was a peppy and bubbly number, just like their bond.

Pandit started with confidence

Tera phoolon jaisa rang
tera sheeshe jaisa ang
padi jaise hi nazar
main toh reh gaya dang

Preeti kept her hands on waist, giving him a haughty look

Aate jaate kare tang
tere achhe nahi dhang
main toh karungi sagai kisi doosre ke sang

He held her arm, making her twirl

Mere hote koi aur
kare tere baare gaur
ye na hoga kisi daur
chahe chalein chhuriyan

Everyone enjoyed their sweet and spicy banter in the song, hardly noticing when Pandit fumbled in few steps and Preeti punched him lightly... it appeared to be a part of the performance.

In the end, she smiled, placing her hands in his

Tu hai itna hi tang
toh main rangi tere rang
le main chali tere sang
chahe chale chhuriyan

The applause they received was roaring.

Next in the line was a competition where Bela, Phulla bua and Swati's mother were in one team while Pandit and Munna's mother in another.

Ladka tumhara kunwara reh jaata
ki maano hamara ahsaan
ki ladki ne haan kar di

Ladki tumhari kunwari reh jaati
ki maano hamara ehsaan
ki ladke ne haan kar di

The two groups teased each other in the song, while some young boys and girls from both side danced along.

Next dance was started by Naina, Preeti and Swati

Bole choodiyan bole kangana
haye main ho gayi teri saajna
tere bin jiyo naiyo lagda
main te mar gayi han

Le ja le ja dil le ja le ja

Sameer, Pandit and Munna joined the girls

Bole choodiyan bole kangna
haye main ho gaya tera saajna
tere bin jiyo naiyo lagda
main te mar jaavan

Le ja le ja dil le ja le ja

They danced with their partners, matching steps with each other perfectly.

Apni maang suhagan ho
sang hamesha saajan ho
aake meri duniya mein
wapas naa jaana
sehra baandh ke maahi
tu mere ghar aana

Sohni kinni sohni aaj tu lagdi ve
bas mere saath ye jodi teri sajdi ve
roop aisa suhana tera
chaand bhi hai deewana tera
o sajan ji haan sajan ji
yun hi beete saara jeevan saath mein

Bole choodiyan bole kangna

Since it was the last performance, everyone joined the three couples in the end, dancing together till it was time for dinner.

Sameer and Anand asked the guests to proceed for food.

"Aap yeh sab kya karne de rahe hain bachhon ko... achha thodi lagta hai bade logon ke saamne bachhe aisi besharmi karein." A burly man with heavy voice approached Munna's father.

"Kya ho gaya, bhai sahab? Aisa kya kar diya bachhon ne?" He furrowed his brows.

The man looked at Munna's mother, "Bhabhiji, aap toh samajhti hain na... yahan sabke saamne aise haath pakad ke naachna gaana... arre hum logon mein toh shaadi ke baad bhi sabke saamne haath nahi pakadte... gaon mein koi sunega toh kya kahega."

"Lekin hum gaon mein thodi hain... humein yahin rehna hai toh yahan ke hisaab se rehna chahiye na." Munna's mom said softly.

"Yahan ke hisaab se? Matlab besharmi se?" The man was miffed.

"Kaisi besharmi bhai sahab... thoda naach ga liya apni khushi ke liye toh kya ho gaya... zamana badal raha hai... humein bhi uske saath badalna chahiye." Munna's father smiled at him.

"Na bhai, humein aisa badlaav nahi chahiye jahan badon ka lihaaz hi khatam ho jaaye." The man said curtly.

"Dekhiye bhai sahab, maana hamare zamane mein mahaul alag tha lekin ab humein nayi soch ko apna lena chahiye... kuch saal pehle tak mujhe bhi lagta tha ki bachhon ko yeh karna chahiye woh nahi, aise rehna chahiye, waise nahi... lekin jabse Munna ki sagai hui hai, usse apne aap saari zimmedaari uthate hue dekh ke mujhe ahsaas hua ki woh kitna samajhdaar ho gaya hai... aur pichle kuch mahino mein uske doston ko dekh ke laga ki Munna ko humne zyada hi baandh ke rakha tha shayad... woh baaki sabke jaise khul ke baat nahi karta, hansta, bolta nahi, humse kuch kehne mein hichkichata hai... yeh sab dekh ke dukh laga humein... issi jagah aaye the do mahine pehle uske dost Sameer ke sangeet ke liye... Munna ko Swati se alag alag sa, door door sa dekha toh takleef hui... ki aise mauke pe bhi woh apni hone wali biwi ke paas baithne se bhi katra raha hai... sach kahun, hum toh chahte hain woh dono hamesha khush rahein aur aapas mein pyar se rahein... Sameer aur Naina ki tarah... maine aur Munna ki mummy ne socha hai jab bahu ghar aa jayegi toh hum unn dono se ek saath baat karenge... ki ghar mein ghar ki tarah rahein... jail samajh ke nahi... hum koi bekaar ki bandishen nahi lagana chahte unpe, sasuraal ke naam ka darr nahi bithana chahte uss bechari ladki ke dil mein jo apna ghar parivaar chod ke aayegi... dono bachhe hamare hain... miyan biwi banke rahein, ajnabi nahi... hum chahte hain unhe ghar mein aisa mahaul mile jisse unhe ghutan na ho... humse kuch kehne mein hichak na ho... kuch jataane mein ghabrahat na ho."

The man gave a look of contempt, "Aap toh zyada hi khule vichaaron wale ho gaye hain... humse nahi dekha jaata yeh sab."

"Aapko dekhna bhi kahan hai... aap toh shaadi ki daawat ke baad chale jayenge... toh pareshan mat hoiye... iss naye zamane ki party ka mazaa lijiye... yehi soch hum daawat mein bhi rakhte toh abhi sirf poori, alu aur ladoo kha rahe hote aap... yahan ke jaise sau tarah ke pakwaan nahi." Munna's father waved at the food arena.

The man angrily went away.

Standing a little away, Sameer looked at Munna, who was still standing with his jaw hanging. He had never thought his parents could have such a thought process.

"Tere papa ki soch bhi tujhse behtar hai... sun liya na? Ek tu hi gadha tha jo kabse Swati ke aur apne beech mein border ke jaisi kaante wali taar laga ke baitha tha... tere papa mummy ko dukh hua tumhari iss doori se... unhe bhi teri harkatein nazar aa gayi hamari shaadi mein... Munna, ab toh samajh aa gaya na?" Sameer smacked him, again annoyed at his thinking till few weeks back.

"Gadha hi tha main... mujhe pata hi nahi chala ki mere papa mummy aisa sochte hain... bekaar mein Swati ko itna dukhi kiya." Munna stood gaping at his parents.

"Ab toh saari baatein saaf ho gayi na... ghar ka jo darr tha woh bhi mit gaya... ab zara dhang se rehna." Sameer shook him.

Munna looked at him for a few seconds, then hugged him tight, "Thank you, bhai... tune toh pehle hi meri aankhen khol di thi... jo thoda bohot ghabra raha tha gharwalo ka soch ke, ab woh mushkil bhi hal ho gayi."

Sameer hugged him back, relieved.

Next update tomorrow evening
