Karwachouth

Sorry to say but no one could guess the correct answer about the surprise

Good news Naina ki nahi meri hai

Now, now, now
Before you let the horses of your imagination break the stables, let me tell you

Today I have reached at par with the show... completed 497 chapters with this update... a huge milestone for sure

Hope I didn't disappoint you

Around four in the evening, Vishakha asked Naina to get ready for pooja. Sameer was busy with Rohan and Deepika. Naina thought it to be better if she went up alone. Sameer would not let her be ready on time if he came along.

Deepika kept him engrossed in her talks, showing off the collection of her dolls, hair bands and drawings. He was amazed to see a drawing of entire family, where Deepika was holding a finger each of two boys on her either sides, with other three family members standing besides them.

"Yeh dekho, Sameer bhaiya, yeh aap ho." She placed her finger on one boy.

He was shocked.

"Yeh aapne kab banayi?" He asked.

"Yeh toh bohot din pehle banayi thi. Jab main UKg mein thi, isliye itni baby jaisi hai." She giggled, holding her palm against her mouth.

He looked at the stick figures again. He was a part of family for her even when she had not seen him. The realisation blurred his eyes.

"Arre aap ro mat. Yeh wali toh tab banayi thi jab main small thi... baad mein achhi wali bhi banayi." She wiped the tears stuck on his lashes.

Her ability to see them even when the tears had not spilled out of his eyes... and her tiny hands on his face, trying to soothe him... overwhelmed him beyond anything. He engulfed his little sister in a warm, loving hug.

"Rohan bhaiya ne kaha tha ki jab aap dekhoge toh bohot happy ho jaoge, par aap toh rone lage... achhi drawing nahi karti kya main?" He could detect a hint of sadness in her words.

Pinching her cheeks, he smiled, looking at her, "Aap toh sabse best drawing karte ho... aur nahi dikhaoge mujhe?"

She happily settled in his lap, showing more of her art work. He was wonderstruck to see his presence in quite a few of her depictions. Her non stop chatter conveyed to him how Rohan had always made her believe that their elder brother stayed some place far away and would come to meet them one day. The warmth Sameer felt for Rohan increased manyfolds.

Doorbell announced arrival of a few decked up ladies for the pooja. Deepika gathered all her things, running to put them away in her room, so that she could see the new festivities without any diversion of interest.

Sameer looked around for Naina, craning his neck to see if she was in the kitchen, though his mother hadn't allowed her to do any work. Growing restless by her absence, he decided to check in their room. He had barely left his seat when Vishakha's voice fell in his ears.

"Yeh aa gayi meri beti... hai na bilkul pari jaisi." She exclaimed proudly.

His eyes moved to the direction where everybody's gaze had turned. His heart skipped several beats as he saw her, descending delicately down the stairs, holding onto the heavy red and gold saree. Her eyes were lowered. A gold necklace, along with heavy earrings, wrists full of clinking glass bangles in red, interspersed with gold ones, pallu on head, a few curls escaping over her shoulders, a round deep red bindi, eyes darkened with kohl, lips painted ruby red... she looked resplendent. His mother was right. She was indeed an angel... straight from heaven... walking down to his heart.

As she took slow steps towards him, he was reminded of the way she had slowly entered his life... making it complete. Yes, she was the missing part of his life. Everything had fallen into place once she walked in. He was alone, she held his hand, and gave him every relation he ever wanted.

She gave him a family.

He couldn't take his eyes off her. She didn't raise hers to him... till she was right next to him.

And then, suddenly, she held his hand, looking directly into his eyes, "Mummy ke pair choone hain... saath mein."

Before Vishakha could stop them, they had together bent down to take her blessings.

"Yeh kaun hain, Vishakha?" One of the ladies asked, surprised at her being addressed as mummy by unknown people.

"Yeh mera bada beta hai, Sameer... aur yeh Naina, iski wife aur meri beti." Vishaka beamed, standing between them, showing them off to the guests.

Sameer bit his lower lip... everything had indeed changed.

After the pooja, all ladies sat for a while, talking to Naina, asking Vishakha about Sameer, praising the pair they made.

"Bhabhi kamaal lag rahi hain." Rohan whispered, seeing Sameer lost in her as she sat amidst the ladies.

With a jerk, Sameer glanced at him, smacking him on the head, "Bhabhi hai tumhari."

"Haan toh bhabhi ki hi tareef kar raha hun. Maar kyon rahe ho?" Rohan rubbed his head.

Sameer laughed, thinking how he had to remind all his friends the same thing when Naina mesmerised them from time to time.

"Waise bhai, bhabhi ki koi behen wehen nahi hai kya? Unke jaisi?" Rohan raised his brows hopefully.

Sameer smirked, "Tumne thodi der kar di... Preeti ki shaadi kuch mahine pehle hi hui hai."

Rohan twisted his mouth, "Ek chance tha woh bhi haath se nikal gaya."

Much later, in their room, Sameer watched as Naina kept pacing restlessly, twitching her fingers. He presumed she was hungry. Sitting with his back against the bed, he held the cushion, watching her anxiously moving about.

"Naina, aise ghoomte rehne se aur bhook lagegi. Baith jao aaram se." He said calmly.

She quickly came to sit on the other side of bed, peering at him, "Pata tha mujhe, lag rahi hai na bhook? Isliye kaha tha tumse ki vrat mat rakho. Lekin nahi, tumhe toh meri koi baat sunni hi nahi hai. Bhagwan ji, jaldi se chaand ko bhej do na, Sameer ne subah se kuch nahi khaya."

He stared at her... hands folded, she was looking up, praying for the moon to appear soon... but for him.

He shifted to her side, making her look in his direction, "Tumhe bhi toh bhook lagi hogi na?"

She pursed her lips, shaking her head.

"Toh fir mujhe bhi nahi lagi... kam se kam khane ki toh nahi." He leaned, reaching close to her shoulder.

She stood up immediately, "Kya kar rahe ho, vrat hai hamara."

He dragged his knees and jumped off the bed, holding her by the elbow, "Haan toh vrat ek doosre ke liye hi hai na. Toh main tumhe kyon nahi bata sakta ki tum kaisi lag rahi ho? Aakhir yeh saara shringaar kiya kyon hai tumne agar mujhse door bhagna hai toh?"

Her face broke into a smile, "Achha sirf bata sakte ho ki kaisi lag rahi hun."

He held both her arms, slowly drifting his eyes from top to bottom and all the way up again, "Jaise chaand nikal aaya ho... aisi lag rahi ho. Mujhe kisi aur chaand ki zaroorat kyon hogi... tumse sundar chaand koi ho hi nahi sakta."

He could see the slight colour on her cheeks.

"Sach Naina, jab tum pooja ke liye neeche aayi toh mera dil kar raha tha tumhe ussi waqt apni baahon mein le lun aur ek ek cheez ki tareef karun." He brought her hand close to his face, and placed a kiss on her bangle clad wrist.

She pulled her hand back, smiling shyly, "Sabke saamne?"

"Aur kya. Main kisi se darta warta nahi. Kaho toh abhi sabke saamne leja ke kiss kar sakta hun." He had a look of determination on his face.

"Dhatt... besharam." She coloured some more.

"Yeh kya, Naina. Jis pati ke liye vrat rakha hai ussi ko besharam keh rahi ho." He made a grumpy face.

"Aisi harakatein karoge toh sabhi besharam kahenge." She stopped herself from pinching his puffed up cheeks.

His arms went around her in a flash, pulling her to him, "Abhi toh kuch kiya hi nahi hai. Pehle karne toh do, fir shouk se besharam bol lena."

"Sameer, nahi... jab tak chaand nahi nikalta tum aisa kuch nahi kar sakte." She held her hand over his leaning mouth.

"Saans le sakta hun na? Tumhe kiss karne se hi toh saans aati hai mujhe." He brought her hand to his lips, kissing on the back of it.

"Hato." She blushed, but did not move, nor take away her hand from his grasp.

"Aur tumhe bhi." He placed another kiss, watching her intently.

"Sameeeer." She whined, turning away.

He tugged at her hand, making her come crashing to him. Her face was still tinged with crimson.

"Jaan, tum kab tak aise sharmati rahogi?" He rolled one lock of hair around his finger.

Her lashes kept her eyes hidden, but a hint of smile at the corner of her lips was enough to tell him the condition of her heart.

He felt a strong wave of possesiveness wash over him, looking at the sindoor in her parted hair, bindi on her forehead, mangalsutra with their initials resting on her neck...

His bride in his arms...

His moon in his arms...

"Tum bohot sundar ho, Naina." He kissed her forehead, all her instructions forgotten.

To his surprise, she wound her arms around his waist, resting her head on his chest, "Main bohot khuskismat bhi hun."

"Bhabhiiiii." Deepika's loud voice just gave them enough time to step away a little before the stormed into the room.

"Jaldi chalo, chaand aa gaya." She frantically held Naina's hand, dragging her along, without waiting for an answer.

While Naina performed the pooja looking at the moon in dark sky, Sameer just looked at his moon, satiated.

She saw the moon through a sieve, then turned to look at him through the same sieve. He dipped his head to see her clearly, with a mischievous smile on his lips. She put tilak on him, performed the aarti, and offered him the water. He took the glass, giving her a sip first. Then she made him have a few sips.

Vishakha had performed similar pooja with her husband, a few feet away. After the pooja, Vivek took her in his arms, placing a kiss over her head.

Naina quickly looked away. Vishakha saw her, and came over.

"Naina, tumhe pata hai, iss vrat ko kholte hue patniyaan apne pati ke pair chooti hain. Jab maine pehli baar Vivek ke liye vrat rakha aur unke pair choone lagi toh unhone mana kar diya aur kaha 'Vishakha, pair choone ka matlab hota hai hum ek insaan ko apne se ooncha darja de rahe hain... aur pati patni mein agar ek ooncha aur ek neecha hoga toh grahasti ki gaadi nahi chal sakti... kyonki gaadi ko chalne ke liye ek jaise pahiye chahiye... tum mere saath rahogi, mere dil mein, isliye dubara aisa kabhi mat karna'... uss din ke baad maine kabhi pair nahi chue... har saal woh aise hi gale laga ke mujhe thank you bolte hain."

She turned to Sameer, "Tumhe toh pehle hi papa ke aashirvaad ke roop mein unke saare gunn mile hain, isliye tumhe kuch sikhane ki zaroorat nahi hai... bas hamesha aise hi pyar se rehna ek doosre ke saath... yaad rakhna, toofan toh aayenge, jo tumhe hila ke rakh denge, unse darna nahi, unka saamna saath mil ke karna... galtiyan bhi hongi, bohot hongi, aur dard bhi hoga... lekin har galti se kuch seekh ke aage badhna, par kabhi bhi na khud ko akela samajhna na doosre ko akelepan ka ahsaas hone dena."

Sameer nodded.

She patted his head, "Ab pehle karwachouth ki badhai ek doosre ko de ke paanch minute mein neeche aa jaana... main khana lagati hun."

She turned to see Vivek approaching them. He stopped near Sameer.

After contemplating for a few seconds, he placed one hand on his shoulder, "Tumhari mummy ne jo kaha, woh bohot zaroori hai zindagi bhar ke saath ke liye. Aaj ke din jhooth nahi kahunga... hamare rishte mein Vishakha ne bohot sacrifice kiye hain, bohot kuch bardasht kiya hai, lekin kabhi rishte ko kamzor nahi padne diya... mere aur mummy ke dabaav ki wajah se jo saal tumse chin gaye, unke liye main maafi maangta hun... Vishakha ki ahmiyat maine bohot pehle jaan li thi isliye darta tha ki kahin tumhare pyar mein aakar woh mujhe chod ke na chali jaaye..."

"Vivek." Vishakha placed a hand on his arm.

He swallowed, "Aaj bolne do, Vishakha... aaj tum mere liye poore din bhooki rahi ho par mere liye tumne itne saal tak apne bete ke pyar se bhi toh  vrat rakha tha... kash main pehle pehchaan jaata ki Sameer se tumhe alag karne se tum hamare zyada kareeb aaogi aisa nahi hai... tum toh pehle hi sabke kareeb aa gayi thi... bas main hi Sameer ke kareeb nahi aa paaya... jaanta hun ab bohot der ho chuki hai inn sab baaton ke liye, lekin fir bhi, Sameer, tumhe kabhi bhi kisi bhi cheez ki zaroorat ho toh bina soche mujhe keh sakte ho... mujhe achha lagega... aur jab tumhara mann kare yahan aa sakte ho... isse apna ghar samajh ke."

Sameer could not move. All this was too much for him to comprehend. He had never expected his mother's husband to talk to him normally, let alone apologising to him.

Naina held his hand, aware of the turmoil within him.

"Sameer, beta, main yeh toh nahi keh sakti ki jo hua usse bhool jao par aaj ke din ek nayi shuruaat to kar sakte hain na?" Vishakha looked hopefully at her son.

She was also taken aback by her husband's changed behaviour. He was otherwise a very reasonable husband in every manner, but when it came to Sameer, his compassion seemed to vanish. Only today she realised it was his insecurity all along. And now, that he was accepting his mistake, she really wanted a better bond to develop between her entire family.

Sameer looked at Naina. She blinked hard, showing her support. He looked back at Vivek, whose eyes were clearly repentant.

"Thank you. Main koshish karunga meri wajah se aapko ya mummy ko koi pareshani na ho." He managed a feeble smile.

Vivek nodded slightly, gave a small smile, and left. Vishakha stroked Sameer's arm... her throat was too constricted for any words to come out. Patting Naina's cheek once, she turned and walked away quickly, wiping the corner of her eyes. But they were not tears... it was the happiness of her heart that refused to remain contained.

"Sameer, tum theek ho?" Naina gingerly touched his arm.

He took a deep breath, as if storing everything, that just unfolded, within the depths of his heart.

"Naina, yeh sach mein hua? Mummy ke... mummy ke husband ne sach mein kaha yeh sab?" He still wasn't sure.

She nodded, smiling, "Iss ghar ke darwaze ab tumhare liye hamesha khule rahenge... mummy ko tumse koi majboori door nahi kar payegi."

Before he could seek solace in her arms, she hurled herself against his chest, crushing him in one of her tightest hug.

"Hamare pehle karwachouth ki bohot bohot badhai, patidev." She went up on her toes.

Their lips locked in a comforting kiss, quenching the thirst after a day long fast.

It was heartbreaking to know about the suicide of such a young and talented actor, Sushant Singh Rajput... it still fails to sink in

RIP Sushant Singh Rajput

Please remember, life doesn't remain same always... it is difficult for others to gauge what a person is going through and very easy to say that one should hold on... so please, be nice to everyone... we don't know what their smiles hide

Next update tomorrow evening
