Restless

Naina sat down to study after dinner. Her mind however could not stay focused... constantly going back to what Sameer had said today. Her eyes pooled up, thinking about the loneliness and heartbreak he must have felt at the young age when all children want to be with their mother. She herself used to feel the absence of her mother at that age, in spite of having a loving family around.

He had no one.

She could not imagine how he must have stayed in the hostel... all alone... broken... unloved...

She wanted to love him more... much more... he had spent far too many years missing out on everything... she could not let him suffer any more.

Rushing out to the balcony, she wished he was here... but there was no one. The cover of darkness spread everywhere... similar to what he must have experienced when he was in the hostel.

Naina was restless... she wanted to hide him in her arms, soothe him, assure him, tell him that he would never be alone again... but he was alone now... he needed her.

She went back to the room, rummaging the cupboard to see if there was anything she could wear to carry out the plan she had in mind...

Sameer stood in the window... looking out into the quiet night... but he did not feel the darkness reach him anymore. The healing touch of his angel had given him the serenity that was missing from some corner in his heart.

A knock on the door made him wonder who it could be. He walked up to the door, opening it to find someone dressed in black from head to toe, head lowered.

Before he could react, the dark figure pushed him to enter the room, closing the door behind.

"Heyy... kaun ho tum?" Sameer stumbled, his eyes going wide.

The figure removed the cap...

"Naina... " He gaped, open mouthed.

She was dressed in black jeans and a loose black t-shirt, hair tied up in a bun which was covered by a cap till now.

"Hi." She grinned.

He rubbed his eyes... there had to be a mistake... it couldn't be her.

When the image still remained intact in front of him, he went closer, taking slow steps. Gingerly, he put one finger ahead and touched her shoulder.

It was her... in person... in his room in the hostel... at this time of the night...

He stood dumbfounded...

Going on her toes, she pecked his lips, without touching him with hands.

"Ab yakeen aaya?" She raised her brows.

Some cells of his brain started to function.

Naina was here in his room...

He grabbed her shoulders, stared for a few seconds... and crushed her in his arms. A deep shudder ran through her as she wrapped her arms tight around him... this is the comfort she wanted to give him... the comfort of her arms... of being with him.

"Tum.. yahan... yahan.. kar kya rahi ho tum... agar koi tumhe dekh leta toh?" He asked after a few minutes, still finding it difficult to believe.

She smiled at him, without speaking.

"Naina, bolo kya hua? Sab theek hai na... tum yahan kyon aayi? Matlab kaise? Matlab aisa kya hua? Tum toh meri tarah pipe se nahi aa sakti." He let out the barrage of questions.

She continued to smile.

His heart flipped, "Tum pipe se aayi ho kya? Pagal toh nahi ho... gir jaati toh? Lag jaati toh kya hota? Socha hai tumhe chot lagti toh mera kya haal hota... tumhe kya zaroorat thi itna risk uthane ki?"

She pecked his lips again, "Lag raha hai tum Naina ho aur main Sameer."

He removed her hands from around his waist, "Tum baat mat taalo... batao yeh kyon kiya?"

She pursed her lips, "Pipe se nahi aayi, baba, seedhiyon se aayi hun... tumse milne."

"Kyon?" He fired the next question.

She furrowed her brows, shaking off his hands holding her and turned away.

"Mera man nahi kar sakta kya tumhare paas aane ka? Tum bhi toh itni baar aaye ho... aaj tak maine pucha kyon aaye ho? Agar tumhe man nahi hai milne ka toh main wapas chali jaati hun." She turned towards the door.

Strong hands grabbed her again, turning her around, and in a blink of an eye, his lips were fused with hers... in a raw, forceful kiss that took her breath away, invading her senses. His one hand moved up to tug the bun open while the other pressed into her lower back, arching her to mould against himself. She wound her hands around him, digging into his back. He plundered her mouth, reaching all the warm corners, with such force that she could feel it deep in her belly... her fingers itched to touch him, feel him... and she moved to the hem of his t-shirt, dipping her hand in, seeking his skin. The touch made him tremble, his fingers clutching her waist tighter, and he delved even deeper. A wave of heat passed through her, causing her to whimper in his mouth. He lifted his mouth finally, only for air, taking deep breaths, keeping her pressed hard to him.

When he could feel his lungs under some control, he held her hand to bring her to the bed, making her sit.

"Ab batao." He sat in front of her.

"I Love You." She looked into his eyes.

"I Love You too, meri jaan... lekin tumne yeh risk kyon liya?" He cupped her face.

"Mujhe tumhare paas aana tha... bas mera dil nahi lag raha tha tumhare bina." She lowered her eyes.

"Naina, sach batao." He knew she was hiding something.

She kept her eyes downcast.

"Aaj din ki baaton ke baad tum mujhe akela nahi rehne dena chahti thi... haina?" He placed a finger under her chin, lifting her face up.

"Hmm." She accepted.

"Oh jaan!" He crushed her in his arms again, "Kyon itna pyar karti ho tum mujhse?"

"Kaash main tumhe itna pyar kar paati ki tumhare andar ki saari kadwahat mit jaati." She said softly against his neck.

"Mit gayi hai, Naina, tumne sab kuch diya hai mujhe jo main jaane anjaane mein paana chahta tha... balki usse bhi kahin zyada." He stroked her back.

"Main bas itna chahti hun ki tum kabhi koi kami na mehsoos karo apni zindagi mein... kisi bhi cheez ki." She placed her hand on his chest.

"Umm... bas thodi si kami hai... ek baar woh bhi poori ho jaaye toh mujhe koi shikaayat nahi hogi kissi se." He looked down at her face, tilting his head.

Her cheeks turned crimson and she hid her face in his chest.

"Oho, itni dileri dikha ke mere hostel mein aa gayi aur ab aise sharma rahi ho." He teased again.

Naina pushed him, freeing herself from his hold, and went to stand in front of the window.

"Arre, arre yeh kya kar rahi ho... kisi ne dekh liya toh?" Going quickly to the window, he dragged her away, plastering her to the wall next to the window.

"Achha batao toh tum aayi kaise?" He played with a strand of her hair.

"Aaj hamare hostel mein dinner ke time sab baat kar rahe the ki kitna thak gaye hain iss hafte mein, aur aaj bas khana khate hi so jayenge... maine socha tumhare yahan bhi shayad aisa hi ho. Yeh tshirt ek baar Arjun bhaiya ka galti se mere saaman mein aa gaya tha... toh maine socha try karti hun... cap toh tha hi mere paas, tabhi khareed liya tha jab tumhare kamre mein pehli baar aayi thi, soch ke ki agar dubara zaroorat padi toh kaam aayega." She told him about her plan.

"Darr nahi laga? Agar koi pakad leta toh?" He raised his brows.

"Maine socha agar kisi ne dekha toh keh dungi meri book reh gayi hai tumhare paas wohi lene aayi hun." She said in a low voice.

"Waise yeh bahana chalta nahi... woh kehte book kal bhi le sakti thi." He gave a lopsided smile.

"Itna nahi socha... tumse milna tha isliye aa gayi... aur pakda nahi na kisi ne... bas fir." She said with her chin high.

"Ab aa hi gayi ho toh faayda uthana chahiye na." He whispered hoarsely.
