"Preeti aur Swati tumhare saath nahi aaye?" Naina asked the duo once they broke their hug with Sameer.
"Aaye hain na... bahar hain." Munna said, pointing outside.
"Arre, bahar kyon baithe hain?" Naina started to go out.
"Preeti toh humein bhi nahi aane de rahi thi... kehne lagi aise kamre mein jaana theek nahi... humne kaha hum toh apne bhai ke kamre mein aise hi jaate the aur aise hi jayenge." Pandit grinned.
Naina rushed out to meet them as Sameer glared at Pandit.
"Par tum log aaye kaise? Sach mein bell ki awaaz nahi aayi." He asked after she was gone, still surprised.
"Ashiqui karne se fursat mile tab kuch sunayi dega na tujhe." Munna teased.
Sameer gave him a threatening look.
"Abe Munna, bhai ko gussa mat dila... warna isse bahana mil jayega humein bahar nikalne ka... jisse iski ashiqui fir se chaloo ho jaye." Pandit quipped.
"Tum dono bata rahe ho ya sach mein bahar nikal dun?" Sameer huffed.
"Woh Ramdhari paudhon mein paani de raha tha... darwaza khula hi tha... isliye bell nahi bajayi... bole toh aage ae hamesha baja ke aayenge... ya bhonpu leke aa jayenge... bahar se hi chillate hue... sab log jaan lo... hum ghar mein aa chuke hain... aashiqon se nivedan hai kuch der ke liye doston pe bhi dhyan de." Munna dramatically folded his hand in front of his mouth, pretending to make an announcement.
"Tu apni nautanki band karega? Bhonpu khareedna apni shaadi ke baad... fir batana dost kab aa sakte hain aur kab nahi... ussi bhonpu pe chilla chilla ke... tera time bhi aane wala hai... bas do mahine hi bache hain." Sameer teased him back.
Pandit laughed loudly, seeing Munna blush at Sameer's comment.
"Tu kya daant dikha raha hai... meri saali se shaadi karne ki tujhe kitni jaldi ho rahi hai sab pata hai mujhe... saath mein hi shaadi kar lete hain, warna bohot der ho jayegi." Sameer imitated Pandit, turning to mock him.
Pandit sheepishly scratched his head, "Main toh... woh... bas... "
Munna smacked him on the back, "Ghabra kyon raha hai? Bhaag ke shaadi karne ko thodi keh raha tha... arre yaar, bakayada band baaje ke saath ghodi pe baith ke jaake leke aayega apni dulhan ko."
Pandit blushed, lowering his head, "Haan, woh toh hai."
"Waise jitna main Preeti ko jaanta hun, shayad woh hi ghodi pe baith ke aa jaaye agar Pandit ne der ki." Sameer sniggered.
"Tu toh ab janne laga hai... hum usse bachpan se dekh rahe hain... aur sachhi keh raha hun, mujhe zara si bhi hairani nahi hogi agar Preeti aisa karegi." Munna held up his hands, speaking with conviction.
While the boys carried on with their banter, girls were ecstatic to meet Naina.
"Hayee Naina, main toh kal hi chachaji ke ghar aana chahti thi par mummy ne aane nahi diya... woh Bhavnagar wali buaji aayi thi, shaadi ke zevar unke yahan banenge na, isliye mujhe rukna pada." Swati gave the reason for her absence the previous day.
"Aa jaati toh dekhti, hamare jijaji kaise khule aam faayda uthane lage hain apne licence ka." Preeti chuckled.
"Preeti ki bachhi... zyada bakwas kari na toh dekh le." Naina frowned, going red at her remark.
"Tu Preeti ko chod, usse kal mil chuki na... mujhe bata kaisa tha tera honeymoon." Swati pulled her to sit at the dining chair.
Preeti swiftly grabbed the chair on other side of her sister, "Woh toh mujhe bhi sunna hai... kal isne kuch bataya hi nahi."
Naina looked from one to another, "Sirf do mahine ki baat hai, fir tum dono apne honeymoon ki baatein kar lena... mujhe jaane do."
"Kahan jaane ki jaldi hai? Jijaji ne time fix kiya hua hai kya milne ka?" Preeti nudged her.
"Nahi Preeti, hamari Naina itni bewafa thodi hai jo humein chod ke bhaag jayegi." Swati made a solemn face.
Preeti twisted her lips, "Maine toh kal dekh liya... aaj tujhe bhi pata chal jayega kisse chod ke kiske paas jaana hai hamari Naina ko."
Naina gave a frustrated look to both of them, "Tum dono ko aapas mein hi baat karni hai toh mujhe baksh do."
She pushed back her chair, running away to the kitchen as both girls giggled.
By the time she came out after asking Ramdhari to get soft drinks and snacks for them, Sameer had also come to the living room with Munna Pandit.
He was talking to Preeti while Swati was excitedly telling something to the two boys.
"Kya baat hai, sher... tune jaate hi hitler ko nishana bana liya." Pandit walked upto Sameer and Preeti.
He looked up, confused.
"Abhi pata chala humein, tune taiji ko kya fatka diya." Munna cleared.
A smile appeared on Sameer's face.
"Taiji ho jao taiyar
Band karo ab atyachar
Aa gaya hai apna yaar
Kar diya pehla var."
Pandit screamed in an excited voice.
"Jijaji, please isse kehdo yeh koshish bhi na kiya kare... iske bas ki yeh kavita, shayari nahi hai." Preeti gave an exasperated look to Pandit before pleading to Sameer.
"Arre yaar, log pyar mein shayar ban hi jaate hain... dil ki awaaz hoti hai, Preeti... sab jumle aapas mein milne lagte hain." Pandit said dreamily.
"Tere jumle milte kam hain, ulajh zyada jaate hain... aisa lag raha tha koi naara laga raha hai... Preeti sahi keh rahi hai, tu koshish bhi mat kar." Sameer was happy to let the focus shift from him.
Pandit kept his elbow on Sameer's shoulder, his eyes fixed on Preeti, "
Main shayar toh nahi
magar ay haseen
jab se dekha maine tujhko
mujhko shayari aa gayi. "
"Shayari bhi utni hi aayi hai jitni school aur college mein padhai aati thi... exam hua toh yahan bhi dhakka maar ke paas ho paoge." She rolled her eyes.
Everyone burst into laughter as Pandit brooded, "Kya yaar, aise toh mat bolo, tumhare liye hi toh koshish kar raha hun."
"Baaki sab theek hai, bas zara yeh koshish rehne do... mujhe zyada khushi hogi." Preeti softened her voice, still teasing though.
Pandit threw up his hands in resignation.
Ramdhari came with glasses of soft drink, along with plates of samosa, dhokla, jalebi, sandwich and a few more things.
"Arre waah Ramdhari, kya sahi time pe laaya hai... badi bhook lagi thi... yahan aane ki khushi mein naashta tak nahi kiya ghar pe." Munna settled on the chair, picking up a plate.
Swati pursed her lips, "Achha? Aur mere ghar jo poori bhaji khaake aaye ho uska kya?"
"Woh? Woh toh sasuma itne pyar se boli ki maine bas thoda aa chakh liya." Munna didn't look up, piling his plate with food.
"Che pooriyan sirf chakhi thi tumne?" Swati narrowed her eyes.
Munna held her wrist, pulling her down to sit next to him, stuffing her mouth with dhokla that he knew she loved.
"Tu pyar se mere saath baith ke khaa yahan pe... tere ghar pe toh saath kha nahi sakte the, isliye maine teen teri taraf se aur teen apne liye khayi thi." He said sweetly.
Other laughed, picking up their plates.
"Sameer, tu kyon nahi le raha?" Munna asked when he saw everyone eating except Sameer.
He was standing with legs crossed at ankles, leaning against a cabinet, hands in pocket.
"Woh main... maine abhi breakfast kiya tha... tum log aaye tab khatam hi hua tha... isliye bhook nahi hai... tum khao... main abhi aaya." He straightened, rubbing the thread around his wrist.
Naina wondered what he wanted, watching him go to the room.
When he did not come out in a few minutes, she kept her almost untouched sandwich aside, getting up to check on him.
"Main lassi leke aati hun... dhokla lassi ke saath achha lagta hai." She told Preeti before going.
She went to the kitchen, asking Ramdhari to make some lassi before coming back to the door to find everyone busy in chatting... quietly, she slipped towards the room.
"Sameer?" She peeked in from the door, not able to see him.
Did he go out elsewhere?
"Sameer, tum ho yahan?" She stepped in, craning her neck to see if he was in the balcony.
Strong arms went around her waist, pulling her against hard chest.
She gasped.
"Itni der kyon laga di?" He whispered against her ear, nestling his face in her hair.
Her initial shock subsided, but breathing was still heavy, "Dara diya tumne... abhi dil uchal ke bahar aa jata."
"Aise kaise aa jaata... main rok leta." He placed one hand on her heart, making it thud even faster.
"Sam... Sameer, yeh kya kar rahe ho?" She pulled at his wrist.
"Abhi kahan kuch kiya, Naina." His voice started to get throaty.
She squirmed, "Sameer, koi aa jayega... please chalo... sab humein chedenge unhe pata chala toh."
He turned her around, keeping her captive in his arms. Her hands landed on his chest.
"Tum wahan baithi hui itni pyari lag rahi thi ki mujhe khud ko rokna bada mushkil ho gaya... mann kiya wahin, sabke saamne tumhe gale laga lun." He grazed her face with the back of his fingers.
Thick lashes hooded her eyes, goosebumps erupting at his feather touch.
"Tum wohi Naina ho na?" His voice was filled with doubt.
Her eyes shot up in question.
"Kal raat wali?" He lowered his face, speaking in a husky voice.
The streak of crimson rose up to her face, spreading the colour on her cheeks.
"Ek kiss?" He demanded, his lips inches away from hers.
She closed her eyes, having no heart... or intention... to refuse.
"Nainaaa... lassi bana rahi hai ya dahi jamaa rahi hai?" Swati's voice drifted into the room.
"Sameer, abhi nahi... woh aa jayenge." She stiffened, wriggling out of his hold.
He did not stop her this time.
Ramdhari had placed the glasses of lassi on a tray. She quickly picked it up and went out, pasting a smile on her face.
Sameer had also come out to the living room, sitting on the edge of sofa. She did not glance up at him.
"Garmi kitni hai na... dekh zara kaisa laal ho gaya hai Naina ka chehra, sirf lassi banane mein." Swati remarked, looking at Preeti.
She stared at Naina's face, nodding with her lips dropping at the corners, "Haan, aur yahan AC bhi nahi hai... ab bechari Naina ko bachpan se AC ki aadat hai toh yahan zyada garmi lagegi hi na."
Naina gave a puzzled look to Preeti, then to Swati.
Their subtle sniggering made her realise that they were aware of her reason for going inside. She chewed the inner cheek nervously, hoping that the boys had not noticed.
"Arre bhai, itne bahane kyon banata hai... waise hi bol deta, bhabhi ki yaad aa rahi hai... hum kaunsa rokte... yeh dahi, lassi ke bahane chodo ab tum... khulla licence hai tumhare paas." Munna smirked, nudging Sameer.
He quickly looked at Naina... she had gone even more red, realizing that all their friends had come to know.
Preeti got up, edging her towards Sameer, "Hamare saamne sharmane ki zaroorat nahi hai behen... hum sabko pata hai jijaji ka haal."
Others gathered around Sameer. He was alarmed, wondering what they were upto.
Preeti continued to nudge Naina towards Sameer, till her leg knocked against his. With a start, she looked up.
Friends had brought two of them together.
"Ab bohot luka chuppi ho gayi... doston ke saamne koi darr nahi... chalo, jaldi se gale lag jao." Swati winked at Naina.
She lowered her eyes, her hand involuntarily tucking hair behind her ear.
"Abe, tu bhi sharmayega kya?" Pandit smacked Sameer on the shoulder.
He grinned, looking back at both of them. Munna flicked his brow, encouraging him. He gazed at Naina, who stood with her hands clasped, her eyes on the floor.
His arm went around her, pulling her against his chest, "Meri biwi hai... sharmane ki koi baat hi nahi hai... isse gale nahi lagaunga toh kisse lagaunga... mera bas chale toh chaubees ghante aise hi rakhun apni jaan ko."
Naina melted into a puddle at his declaration, turning into his arms to bury her face in his chest.
Everyone started to clap and laugh.
Sameer brought his other arm around her as well, pinning her to himself. With a sigh, she circled his waist... after all, she had the right too.
Pandit cheered with a whistle.
Sameer dropped a kiss on her head before leaving her after a while.
They spent next couple of hours playing some games of carrom and ludo, teasing each other, laughing freely.
Ramdhari served lunch when it was time. Pandit was elated to find his favourite kadhi. Munna was excited to see paneer bhurji. Preeti and Swati were equally happy when their favourite dishes were served.
"Bhabhi, inn dono ka toh samajh aata hai, lekin aapko hamari pasand kaise pata hai?" Munna was surprised.
"Dono mere jijaji ho... aur devar bhi... jab rishta itna gehra hai toh sab kuch maloom karna hi padta hai." She gave a proud smile.
"Kamaal hai Sameer, bhabhi hai ya CID... sach kahun toh thoda darr lag raha hai... pata nahi kya kya maloom kar lein." Munna raised his brows.
Swati patted on his arm, "Kyon? Aisa kya kiya hai tumne jo pata nahi chalna chahiye humein?"
He was immediately defensive, "Arre Swati, aisa waisa main kuch kar sakta hun kya? Tu toh jaanti hai kitna bhola bhala bachha hun... bilkul seedha sada."
"Haan, jalebi ke jaisa seedha." Pandit muttered, loud enough to make everyone hear.
All laughed as Swati narrowed her eyes at a pleading Munna.
Next update tomorrow morning
