Chup chup ke

"Mummy, main kya pehnu?" Preeti screamed from her room.

"Naina, beta dekh zara jaake... usse bol suit pehen le aaj... sirf baat karne hi aa rahe hain toh saree zaroori nahi hai." Bela said as she kneaded the dough for kachoris.

Naina went to their room. She was startled to see the condition inside. Clothes laid strewn all over the bed, box of bangles was open with few of them spread on the table, various earring sets spilled out from the box where they were stored.

Preeti sat amidst everything, holding her head.

"Yeh kamre ka kya haal kiya hai tune, Preeti?" Naina stepped in, looking around.

"Dekh na, Naina, ... sab kapde kitne bekaar hain... pehli baar milungi Pandit ke mummy papa se... koi achha suit hi nahi hai." Preeti whined.

Naina pushed aside a few clothes, making some space for herself to sit on the bed.

"Woh tujhe pehli baar nahi dekh rahe. Mile toh hain... pehle bhi aur abhi hamari sagai pe, shaadi pe... unhone tujhe bohot saja dhaja dekha hai... aaj uski zaroorat nahi hai... teri shakal aur bahari sundarta ko jaan chuke hain aur tere mann ki khoobsurati ko pehchaan gaye hain kyonki tune unke bete ko pyar kiya hai... jo ladki unki sabse pyaari cheez ko apni zindagi banana chahti hai woh unke liye har tarah se best hai... aaj unse milne ke liye tujhe dikhawa nahi karna... bas shaanti se milna hai." Naina smiled at her, keeping one hand on her knee.

The lines of frustration and confusion on Preeti's forehead eased, "Sach? Tujhe lagta hai unhone mujhe pehle hi pasand kar liya hai?"

"Aur nahi toh kya... tabhi toh aa rahe hain... dekha hai na tune, kitne shaant se hain woh log... hamesha kitne pyar se baat karte hain hum sabse... ab jo unhe pata chal gaya hai ki tu unke bete ki pasand hai toh tujh pe pyaar ki baarish hi kar dengi aunty." Naina pinched her nose.

Preeti blushed, pulling her hand away, "Baatein toh aise kar rahi hai jaise unhone khud aake tujhe bola ho ki unhe iss shaadi se koi aitraaz nahi hai."

"Toh tujhe bola hai ki aitraaz hai? Jo tu itna darr rahi hai?" Naina narrowed her eyes.

"Nahi, nahi," Preeti quickly defended them, "Pandit keh raha tha uski mummy toh bohot khush hain."

Naina gave her a serious look, "Waise ho sakta hai tera dil rakhne ke liye keh raha ho... aur yahan aake woh log kahein ki 'Yeh shaadi nahi ho sakti... kahan yeh ladki aur kahan hamara rajkumaar'... aur apne bete ka haath pakad ke chale jayein... saara khaana khane ke baad... ab hain toh Pandit ke mummy papa na... mauka mila hai achha khaane peene ka toh ussi ka faayda uthane aa rahe hon... kya pata."

"Nainaaa." Preeti smacked her on the shoulder, "bakwaas mat kar. Aise nahi hain woh log."

"Aise hi honge, Preeti... tabhi Pandit bhi aisa hai." Naina sadly looked at her sister.

"Chup kar ja tu... warna pit jayegi... woh sab bohot achhe hain." Preeti huffed, getting up from the bed to stand with her back to her.

"Ab yeh toh unke aane ke baad hi pata chalega... behen, teri kismat mein na sirf kitchen mein ghuse rehna likha lag raha hai mujhe toh." Naina stood up, holding her shoulders from behind.

Preeti turned sharply, hands on waist, nostrils flaring in fury, "Ab tune ek shabd aur bola na toh main..."

"Toh tu Pandit se shaadi nahi karegi?" Naina rounded her eyes innocently, before sprinting away from her.

Preeti gritted her teeth, running after her. In no time she caught with Naina as there was hardly any space to run around... and both sisters hugged, laughing.

"Chal, ab chachiji daant lagaye usse pehle taiyar hoja." Naina turned to check the clothes on bed.

"Wohi toh problem hai... kya pehnu?" Preeti was back to her dilemma.

Naina picked out a yellow suit, with a dark pink dupatta, "Yeh le, ismein tu bohot achhi lagti hai... yeh pehen."

Preeti's eyes brightened. It was not new but it was a pretty outfit. When she had worn it once at Swati's engagement, she badly wanted Pandit to say something... but that time he had eyes only for the table where food was laid. Today, she would know his much awaited reaction.

Quickly picking up the suit, she ran to the washroom to freshen up and change. Naina started to clean up the room, folding and putting all clothes back in the cupboard. By the time Preeti came out, everything was clean again.

Naina helped her with a pair of delicate gold earrings and a bracelet. Preeti tied up her hair in a loose braid, finishing her look with a small bindi and some gloss.

"Kitni pyaari lag rahi hai... aaj toh Pandit gaya." Naina winked, admiring her sister in the mirror.

Anand returned with sweets and some gifts for Pandit's family.

"Bela, yeh samaan dekh lo... sab le aaya hun... ab jo pack karna hai woh kar lo... main zara jaake kapde badal ke fresh ho jaata hun." He called out to his wife, placing everything on the table before walking away to his room.

Bela came out of the kitchen, her one hand smeared with stuffing that she was filling up in kachoris. She looked at the stuff, satisfied.

"Suniye, yeh Naina ko... " She stopped, frowning as she realised that her husband was already gone.

"Mujhe bataiye chachiji... main kar deta hun." Sameer offered.

She beamed at him, "Haan beta, yeh saaman Naina ko de do kamre mein, woh pack kar degi achhe se."

Sameer nodded, picking up the gift boxes and walking towards the room he knew so well.

Preeti was coming out when he reached the door.

"Yeh kya hai, jijaji?" She was curious about three large packets in his hands.

"Gifts hain, chachiji ne kaha hai Naina pack kar degi." He said.

"Laiye main de deti hun." She offered.

Sameer immediately pulled his hands away, "Main hi de dunga."

Preeti looked at him... her eyes turning mischievous the next moment as she understood.

"Jaiye, andar hai aapki biwi... aur aaram se pack karna dono mil ke... main wapas nahi aaungi dus... nahi, pandrah minute tak." She winked, moving aside to let him pass.

Sameer flashed a big smile, "Waise saaliji, aaj aap kamaal lag rahi ho."

"Jijaji, main toh hamesha se hi kamaal lagti hun... aapki saali jo hun." She chuckled, closing the door as she went out.

Sameer turned to see Naina sitting on the bed with her back to him. She was collecting the glass bangles to put them away in an open box that was kept in front of her

He walked stealthily upto her, placing the packets on one corner of the bed before bending down behind her.

"I missed you, jaan." His husky and warm breath hit her ear at the same time as his voice, making her jump.

The bangles slipped from her hands as she swiftly turned her face towards him... and her lips brushed against his since he was so close.

He held her face within his palms, "Oho, meri jaan ko toh mujhse bhi zyada bekarari hai... itna miss kiya kya mujhe?"

She gulped, "Preeti... "

He smiled, "Chali gayi, keh ke ki disturb karne nahi aayegi."

Her face relaxed into a smile, relief evident in her eyes. Holding his collars, she pecked again on his lips, this time, knowingly.

"Bohot zyada miss kiya."

He was amazed for a moment. Then, stood up, pulling her up with him. The kiss was intense, deep and ardent, both trying to get more close to each other, pressing themselves into the other, satisfying their craving for the touch that had become their life. When he lifted his head, her face was flushed.

"Yeh kyon kiya? Ab main bahar kaise jaungi?" Her breathless voice held no complaint though.

"Pandrah minute mein kuch aur bhi ho sakta hai." His face dipped to her neck, tilting her head back.

"Sameer, nahi... sabko pata chal jayega... laal nishan dekh ke." Her voice quivered as his lips trailed on the sensitive skin.

"Tumhe nishan gayab karne aate hain na... apne jaadu se... jaise pehle kiya tha abhi bhi kar lena." He didn't stop.

Her eyes narrowed for a while, then she recalled the day she had worn saree, "Woh toh makeup lagaya tha uspe, jisse blouse mein nazar naa aaye... ghar pe Ramdhari tha na, isliye."

He looked up at her, "Lekin maine toh dekha nahi woh nishan dubara."

"Hai na abhi bhi, dekho." Naina quickly pulled down the kurta over one shoulder.

His eyes darted to the creamy skin... a blue mark that had turned light now, but still clearly visible. The mark was not the only thing that held his attention... his eyes slipping to the smooth, round curve of her partially revealed shoulder. He kept his hand on hers, so that she couldn't pull up the neckline even if she wanted.

The glint in his eyes made her realise what she had done. She tried to free her hand, but his hold was strong.

"Sameer, koi aa jayega." She whispered, burning under his gaze.

Her words had no effect on him. Lowering his head, he placed his lips on the curve of her shoulder, and kissed hard.

She gasped as his teeth grazed against her skin. He blew softly over it, before kissing her on the cheek.

"Ek nishan ke mitne se pehle doosra aa jaana chahiye." He mumbled against her ear.

A shy smile spread on her lips as he pulled up the kurta back over her shoulder, kissing again on the fabric at exact same place.

"Abhi hum kaafi der yahin hain... jab bhi mujhe miss karo, iss jagah ko choo lena." He nuzzled in the crook of her neck, inhaling her feminine fragrance that made him heady.

She slipped her hand under his collar, "Tum mujhe miss karoge toh kya karoge?"

He lifted his face, looking into her eyes deeply, "Main toh jab bhi tumhe miss karta hun apni shirt ke button choo leta hun, soch ke ki pata nahi bechare aaj shirt utarne tak bachenge ya nahi... aur sochta hun na hi bache toh achha hai."

Her eyes flicked to the button, and her cheeks flared up.

"Hato." She pushed him, moving away.

"Hayee, yeh tumhara hato ek din jaan le lega meri." He placed one hand on his heart, leaning to one side.

She giggled, "Itne filmy kabse ho gaye tum?"

He blew a kiss, "Jabse aisi filmi ladki meri zindagi mein aayi hai."

She waved a hand at him, turning away. Her eyes fell on the packets kept on the bed which were not there earlier.

"Yeh kya hai? Kahan se aaye?" She leaned to take a look.

"Chachiji ne kaha hai yeh pack karne hain... main yehi leke aaya tha tumhe dene." He ran his fingers through the hair, trying to calm his nerves.

"Toh bataya kyon nahi? Abhi chachiji bulayengi toh kya kahungi?" She opened the drawer to take out wrapping paper and scissors and cellotape.

"Keh dena apne handsome pati ke saath romance karne ke chakkar mein bhool gayi." He looked into the mirror, flipping his collars.

"Sun liya chachiji aapne? Aapke damaad ke karname?" She looked at the door.

Sameer immediately straightened his collars, turning towards the door nervously, "Nahi chachiji, main bas woh... "

Naina's sniggers fell in his ears as he looked at the still closed door.

He pursed his lips, staring at her. Next instant, he lunged at her, crushing her in his arms.

"Chodo Sameer, yeh kaam karne do... der ho rahi hai." She squirmed.

"Mujhe chedogi aur main jaane dunga? Ab sazaa toh milegi tumhe." His voice turned rough.

"Sam... Sameer... chachiji... " Her eyes widened, looking behind him.

"Ek hi baat se kitni baar daraogi... main nahi sunne wala kuch... ab tumhe nahi chodunga." He leaned towards her as she tried to push him away.

"Beta, jab ho jaaye toh yeh gifts pack kar dena... waise koi jaldi nahi hai." Chachiji's voice rang in his ears.

Sameer jumped away, his face going white as he saw chachiji standing at the door, her eyes shut.

"Woh ch... chachiji... main... main... " He tried to find words.

She opened her eyes, "Maine kuch nahi dekha... bas unke aane tak yeh pack kar de, Naina beta."

She closed the door with a crooked smile.

Naina gave an embarrassed look to Sameer. His face was equally red. Before they could speak, the door opened a crack.

"Sameer, beta jab kamre mein aao toh darwaza andar se band kar liya karo." Chachiji looked at him, stifling a smile... and shut the door again.

Naina hid her face in her palms, mortified.

Sameer looked at her. He slowly went towards the door. She expected him to walk out, but he put the latch, and turned.

"Sameer, tum... tum yeh kya kar rahe ho?" She was astounded.

He grinned, "Jab chachiji ne keh hi diya hai toh mauke ka faayda uthana chahiye na."

Next update tomorrow morning
