Alarm

I'm sorry if you found the previous two updates not upto the mark and disjointed at some places... I wasn't satisfied with them either though you all have been very generous with your comments

Actually I'm not in a proper frame of mind due to some personal issues... it's affecting my writing... I'll try to fix myself as soon as possible

Naina was up before the alarm could go off. She looked at Sameer. His arm was draped around her waist, another one folded over his head. Lying on his stomach, cheek pressed against the pillow, he looked incredibly handsome. His chiselled face was relaxed, dark shadow on the jaw quickening her pulse as always... his lips were slightly apart, making her long for a kiss... the silky locks of hair were messy, falling on his forehead, making her heart skip a beat at his boyish charm. She ran her fingers through them. He stirred in sleep. The slight movement made her eyes dart to his brawny, bare back. Picking up his hand carefully from her waist, she placed it on his side, then raised herself on one elbow, admiring her man.

The quilt covered lower half of his body leaving the broad shoulders and muscular back open to feast her eyes upon. It did look like he worked out but she hadn't seen him doing so. Not able to keep her hands away, she grazed her palm over the sinewy expanse... feeling a blazing heat run through her veins. The scratches on his back had not faded yet, or maybe, she kept giving new ones. A strong rush of colour spread on her face at her own thoughts. But she did not stop herself. Leaning, she placed a kiss on his shoulder. Then another, a little lower. The trail continued till she reached the edge of quilt. When she came back to the pillow, his eyes were open.

"Good morning sweetheart." He murmured as she stared at his face.

His sleep laden gruff voice made her already heated blood ready to explode through her veins. She placed one hand on his cheek, and inched closer to catch his lips.

He had been up since he felt her fingers on his scalp. This touch always filled him with a strange longing... today was no exception. When she started her exploration of his back, he was pleasantly surprised... and elated. But when she started to rain kisses, it took a lot of control to not drag her in his arms. Knowing her penchant for getting up on time, he held on to the last shreds of control... till she slipped in for a kiss.

In one swift motion, he spun to his side, taking her in his arms, and turned on his back. She now laid on top of him, their lips locked in a kiss that definitely was not a simple good morning peck. He pressed the back of her head, his tongue raiding her mouth with fervent desire throbbing through him. She kissed back with the same passion, her nerves strung tight.

The alarm started to ring, making them jerk to look at it together. Sameer sighed, expecting her to move away. To his amazement, she extended her hand to swat it once, and turned back to place her lips on him, continuing as if there was no interruption. He tightened his arms, rolling over to bring her under him, without breaking the kiss. His hand moved from her back, sliding under her top.

The feel of his fingers on her skin made her come to her senses. She had just pulled down the top last night, without bothering to wear anything under it.

"Sameer." She squirmed, speaking against his lips.

He lifted his head.

"Woh." She indicated at the quilt with her eyes.

He shook his head, frowning.

"Please." Her voice was shaky.

Unwillingly, he pulled up the quilt, covering them completely with it before going back to what he was doing.

The intensity of her desire took him by surprise. She was different, more bold, more fierce. She had shown her passion earlier too but not with such ardour. She was a temptress today.

A little later, as he tried to catch his breath, he recalled Ramdhari's words from previous afternoon.

"Exercise ka sabse achha waqt toh subah hota hai."

A smile played on his lips, thinking that this morning exercise was indeed the best. He looked at his wife, lying with her head on his shoulder and her hand on his heart that was still thudding hard against his chest.

"Agar tum promise karo ki aise hi roz uthaogi toh main kabhi tumse pehle nahi uthunga." He tucked the strands away that were falling on her face.

She hid her face in his chest, though he could feel her lips curl in a smile against his skin.

"Naina, aise pyar dikha sakti ho lekin yeh nahi hata sakti." He tugged at the quilt that she had wrapped around her chest.

"Nahi." She said quickly, clutching it close to herself.

He turned on his side to face her, "Kab tak?"

"Pata nahi." She whispered, hiding herself in his arms again.

He dropped a kiss on her head, going crazy over this bold in one moment and shy in another version of hers.

"Jaan le logi tum meri aisi harkaton se." His voice was brimming with love.

"Bas ab uth jao... alarm kitni der pehle baja tha... ab aur der mat karo." She said in a dictating tone.

"Achha, meri galti hai kya? Maine thodi alarm band kiya tha." He teased her again.

She raised her brows, "Theek hai, aaj galti ho gayi... aage se kabhi nahi karungi... alarm bajte hi seedhe uthna padega."

He was stunned at the flip again. When he had teased, he had expected her to go red and hide her face again... but here she was, threatening him with no more morning romance.

"Hayee jaan, tum toh ekdum sherni ban jaati ho." He was mesmerised.

She gave him a stern look, "Sherni aise aaram se nahi bolti."

"Toh kaise bolti hai?" He was in a trance.

She scrunched her nose and growled at him.

He was taken aback for a moment, then pulled her and placed a hard kiss on her cheek... and she blushed again.

"Mujhe yeh sherni bohot pasand hai." He traced a finger across her shoulder that was free of the quilt.

She pulled the cover, "Jao... warna der ho jayegi."

Reluctantly, he sat up on the bed, picking his track bottoms from the side and pulling them on before getting up.

Naina waited till he had closed the washroom door. In fact, she waited for five more minutes, fearing that he might peep out on some pretext or the other. When  the sound of running water continued for a while, she dressed up... wearing the same clothes that she had worn last evening and not the night suit, not comfortable to go out in it while Ramdhari was at home.

When Sameer stepped out after his shower, just like the previous day, his clothes were placed neatly on the bed, along with everything he needed.

"Tum meri woh zaroorat ban gayi ho, Naina, jiske bina main ek kadam bhi nahi chal paunga." He let out a contented exhale, getting ready for a new day in office.

His lunch was packed in a tiered tiffin and breakfast was ready on the table.

"Sameer, aa gaye tum... shuru karo main chai laati hun." Naina glanced in his direction while putting the bowl of curd next to his parantha.

He held her wrist, "Tum bhi saath khao na."

She wrinkled her nose, "Main abhi nahayi nahi hun... kaise kha sakti hun... tum kha lo warna der ho jayegi."

He made a face, leaving her hand.

Office car arrived just as he finished his breakfast. Ramdhari ran out to place his things in the car. Sameer pulled her for a quick kiss before leaving.

"Subah ke liye thank you... ab saara din apni sherni ki yaad mein nikaal sakta hun." He whispered, seeing the crimson streak creep up her neck.

She could not wipe off the smile even after the car was long gone.

The day was a busy one for Sameer. He looked into various new deals that had been made in last three years... after nanu was gone. Munshiji apprised him of the general working and what all was being planned for new projects. He took rounds of the departments, making himself familiar with the work environment. The employees seemed to be satisfied and hard working. Everyone treated munshiji with great respect.

"Sir, ab aap lunch kar lijiye... uske baad ek meeting hai, managers ke saath." When they finished the round, munshiji told him.

Sameer nodded.

He went back to his cabin, going straight to nanu's photograph, "Yeh jagah sach mein aapka mandir hai, nanu... sirf main hi nahi, yahan ke log bhi aapko bohot miss karte hain... sab kitne samman se aapki baatein yaad karte hain... main poori koshish karunga aapke sikhaye hue raaste pe chalne ki."

There was a knock at the door. He looked back to see a middle aged peon holding a big tray. Asking him to come in, Sameer settled on the sofa. The dishes were placed before him. He smiled at the platter... palak paneer, bharwan bhindi and raita, along with salad and chapatis... the menu he had jokingly asked her to prepare few days back.

He looked at the thread on his hand, "Meri kahi hui har baat tumhare liye khaas ho jaati hai na, chahe woh kitni bhi choti kyon na ho, chahe woh mazaak mein kahi ho maine."

He could see her smiling face.

Naina sat down to have her lunch, thinking about him.

"Tumhari pasand ka khaana hai... achhe se khaa lena." She eyed the dishes.

They both finished almost at the same time, keeping each other in their thought as they ate alone... still together.

The phone rang when she was clearing the table.

"Hello?" She was quick to answer, hoping it was him.

"Kaisi hai meri sherni?" His voice sent a wave of warmth all over her.

She took a deep breath, "I Love You, Sameer."

He closed his eyes, letting the words soak him with her fragrance.

They kept holding the phone in silence, listening to each other's breathing. Naina thought about the days when they talked on phone during their college vacations.

"Tumne khana khaya?" His voice brought her to present.

"Hmm... tumne?" She asked.

He smiled, "Kha liya, par tumne ek dish kam bheji. Maine masala gobhi bhi toh kaha tha."

The smile spread on her face too, "Woh kal bhejungi... ek baar mein itna khaoge toh phail jaoge... tumne hi kaha tha na?"

His voice turned mischievous, "Uska bhi ilaaj hai."

Her ears burned, "Office mein ho tum... kuch toh sharam karo."

"Main jogging ki baat kar raha hun, Naina... usmein sharmaane wali kaunsi baat hai?" He could imagine her red face.

She looked at the phone in hand, knowing fully well what he meant.

"Naina?" His voice boomed through the instrument in her hand.

"Bye Sameer." She brought it close to her mouth, speaking quickly, and disconnected.

He chuckled, putting the phone down. Her softness and her fierceness, both mesmerised him to immeasurable extent. Her way of taking care of him, making him feel special, fussing over him, understanding his every unspoken need... she was indeed a blessing.

"Oh Naina, kya achha kaam kiya hoga maine kisi janam mein jo tum mujhe mili ho."

He opened the drawer, taking out nanu's diary. Placing it against his forehead first, he looked at it with grateful eyes.

"Thank you, nanu... yeh shayad aapki hi duaa hai jo meri zindagi itni khoobsurat ban gayi hai... ek khoobsurat saathi ke aane se." His voice was filled with gratitude.

The meeting with the managers later was quite informative. He could not comprehend everything but the need to improvise on some existing procedures which was vehemently put up by one Mr Khurana seemed to be unnecessary. Though, he did not say anything in front of others, he made a mental note to check up the documents of the procedures he was mentioning. Also, he decided to ask munshiji about it.

The hours after lunch passed with ease. He did not get anxious or impatient. The feel of two most important people in his life around him... Naina in the thread and nanu in the diary... kept him relaxed and energetic at the same time.

So today is the day of evening update... we'll meet again in a few hours
