" Manik kya tu nandini ka saath pane ke liye fab 5 ka saath chod sakta hain? "

manik looked shocked ! The spoon from his hand fell down

He wasn't able to say anything

" Mera tumhe maaf kardene ka decision galat toh nahi tha na manik? " asked chachi expecting manik's answer to be negative

As soon as chachi said this,... He looked at her numbed...

" Kya hua manik?  Tumhe sochne me itna time kyu lag raha hain? " asked chachi once again

Gathering strength manik spoke

" Chachi nahi, bohot minnato baad aapki maafi mili hain... Main usse khona nahi chahta.. Aur rahi baat fab 5 ko chodne ki..toh iss baar main nandini aur ifra ko pane ke liye kisiko bhi chodne ready hu" 

he said this not only because he was selfish and wanted his love and daughter but also because the true colours of his friends were slowly slowly seen by him

chachi smiled on his answer, she knew this time manik would not make any sort of mistakes...

Chachi cupped his left cheek and patted lightly

" Mera sona munda " manik smiled too hearing it

It was a perfect mother - son moment going on

" Accha sun "

" ha boliye " replied manik munching the "garma garam aloo parathe "

" ye tere baal ghosle jaise nahi lag rahe?  " manik turned his eye balls towards chachi immediately listening her sentence

" Ghosla?  " asked manik in disbelief

" kinne rukhe ho gaye hain tere baal .. Aur dekh khudko kitna kamzor ho gaya hain ..punjabi hain bhai... Khana shana toh apna favourite hain... "

Manik laughed heartily on her statement as both chachi and manik are Punjabi's

" Kya karu aapki beti nahi thi na mera khayal rakhne ke liye... Isiliye ye sab ho raha hain " said manik

" Koi ni, thodi aur mehnat kar.. Meri kudi maan jayegi " said chachi pecking his forehead

" Puri jaan laga dunga aapki kudi ki maafi ke liye " listening this both of them giggled a bit

When manik showed his palm to chachi asking her to stop laughing

" shh chachi agar kisi ne mujhe dekh liya, toh hum dono gaye"

Chachi also like a small kid kept her index finger on her lips and muttered a " shhh"

" chachi wo mujhe... Mujhe kuch... Kuch wo kuch kehna tha" said manik stammering

" ha toh bolna itna atak atak ke kyu baat kar raha hain " replied chachi finding something fishy

" wo mujhe nandu aur ifra " he wasn't able to speak due to his nervousness

" mujhe pata hain tujhe nandu aur meri gudiyan se milna hain ,main bhi kehti hu tum dono ko ek baar baat karni chahiye..mujhe pata hain puttar nandu tujhse naaraz hain lekin uski naarazgi jayaz hain.. Usse apni takleef ka gham nahi hain beta lekin uski bacchi jo takleefon se guzri hain usse us baat ka dukh aur ghussa " explained chachi

" mujhe pata hain chachi main galat hu. Isiliye main apne har galat ko sahi karna chahta hu
..mai dono ko unke hisse ka pyaar dena chahta hu.. "

Chachi nodded with a beautiful smile

" mai un dono ko dekh sakta hu?  Please? " asked manik with a very cute face

" Abhi?  Manik nodded abhi toh dono so rahe hain "

" mujhe pata hain bas dono ko dekhna chahta hu... Lekin sirf agar aap ijazat de toh "

" theek hain ja lekin sambhal ke uske bazuwale kamre me amms rehti hain" said chachi controlling her laughter looking at manik's face who just gulped his saliva listening amms name

" sacchi?  Chachi nodded with a teasing smile kya chachi  nandu ke baazu wala room hi amms ka kyu hain? " said manik making a crying face

" mainu ki pata?  " said chachi

" ab jau ki nahi jau? " asked manik like a baby

" arey ja ja  , amms toh abhi pooja me busy hongi " manik breathed a sigh of relief

" matlab aap mujhe chida rahi thi?  " chachi nodded

" ek maasum se bacche ka mazaak bana rahi thi aap " sakd manik faking a sad face

" ja ab nautanki dono ke dekhke aa, mai bhi jati hu nahi toh tere chacha samjhege koi maine utha ke lai gaya " both mother - son giggled left for their destination

Manik forwaded his hand to open the lock but again took it back

" usse accha nahi laga toh?  Ghussa ho gayi toh? Lekin mujhe unn dono ko dekhna bhi hain.. Kya karu?  Oh nandini ke aiyappa help me please "

Fighting with his own questions manik finally turned the lock which made a "click" sound

He carefully opened the door and walked inside

Entering the first thing he saw was the fireflies jar

He looked shocked

" fireflies, what?  Ye yaha nahi tha Chaar saal pehle aaj kaise aa gaya? Shayad nandini apne saath le gayi ho.. Matlab still there's hope.. " a ray of happiness emerged inside manik's heart

He walked towards the white study table with his back facing a sleeping ifni

He with lots of care, took the jar in his hands and he felt a lone tear falling out of his eyes

He kissed the jar lightly as if feeling nandini,  he knew what importance the fireflies jar held in nandini's life

He kept the jar on the table and turned wiping his tears and immediately a smile appeared on his face

He saw his lives sleeping all cuddled up, he so wanted to be a part of this beautiful moment but no it'll take a bit more time..

( imagine nandini's eyes to be closed and the hand  to be on ifra's waist)

Manik with lots of emotions in his heart walked towards them and suddenly something hit his mind... He immediately removed his mobile and captured the beautiful moment....

He kept admiring them for god knows how long ,probably 2 and a half hours passed

" dhai (2 and a half)  ghante toh kya dono ko zindagi bhar aise sukoon se sote hue dekh sakta hun "

He again started his admiring session when in between ifra scrunched her nose and pouted a little, but her eyes were still closed... She moved a little , sensing ifra's trouble nandini cuddled ifra more close to her and whispered

" mamma's here love " again ifra calmed down and went into deep slumber

" I regret the moment i asked her to get out of my life, my life was all colorless without them and now they've filled it again with colours ,the person who never smiled for past 4 years is again all smiles... Ohhhh goddd i love them sooo much "

After a few minutes, manik was drowned in their Beauty.. When out of nowhere his phone ranged.. He cursed the caller ,because just because of mere call his both lifelines sleep was disturbed

He immediately stood up and was trying to remove the phone from his pocket

due to the ringtone nandini's deep slumber came to an end, she moved a little away from ifra as she was about to cough and didn't wanted ifra to get affected...

She rubbed her eyes after coughing and took a look at ifra who was sleeping peacefully but next she saw " long legs covered with beige colour cloth "

As she was still a bit sleepy, nandini's breathe hitched.. She thought it to be some housebreaker

" oh aiyappa ye kaun ghus gaya mere room me, meri ifra... Aiyappa please save us.. " she was about to continue futher but then she was shocked seeing manik

" tum yaha?  What are you doing here?  How dare you get into my room? "

" wo mai tumhe "

" kya wo mai mr malhotra?  How can you enter into any girls room?  I didn't allow you right? "

This pinched right into his heart he murmmerd

" any ? Any girl? " he questioned with a sad face

Nandini had a stern face on

But manik he went towards nandini and held her shoulders

" Mai yaha kisi "ANY " girl se milne nahi aaya hu... Jise tum any girl keh rahi ho wo mera pyaar aur mere bacche ki maa hain... Samjhi tum? "

Nandini was continuously wriggling to come out of his hold but listening his words, she closed her eyes tightly....  after sometime realization hit her and she pushed manik

" Mr malhotra aapki himmat kaise hui mujhe touch karne ki? Don't you dare touch me "

Manik was walking forward and nandini was taking steps backwards

" Aaj bhi waisi hi cute lagti ho, night suit mein " and nandini's heart beat raised, she can't deny manik's presence used to evoke thousands of summersaults in her stomach

Our sleeping babycake had no idea of what was going around her, she was enjoying her sleep

He again came close to her and cupped her face ever so gently

" My beautiful baby " said manik pecking her forehead, and nandini it was like someone threw her back to their happy days in past

" mr malhotra leave me right now " even though liking it she asked him to leave her

" what's up with this mr malhotra ha?  I was always your manik okay?  " he answered ignoring her rants to leave and caressing her jawline

Nandini kept her hands above his, where he'd cupped her cheeks and looked into his eyes.....

And suddenly she jerked his hands....

" Haath mat lagao mujhe "

" I am sorry " apologised manik

".why are you here? Aur tumhein andar aane ki permission kisne di? "

" i just wanted to see you both sleeping peacefully to my heart's content "

Nandini just pressed her lips tightly and turned to look at ifra, if she was sleeping properly or not

" Look manik there's " she unknowingly called him manik

" you called me manik " manik interuppted her with a smile

" just a slip of tongue " replied nandini

" oh i see " manik passed a sarcastic comment

" Wo fireflies ka jar ? Matlab it wasn't there when i came to your room 4 years ago? " nandini immediately spared a glance at him

Nandini went towards him and held him by his collars...

" Wo fireflies ka jar mera hain, samjhe tum... Sab kuch toh chin liya hain mujhse mera bharosa, mera pyaar, ab ye mat chin lena mujhse " said nandini with big eyes

( THE FIREFLIES JAR WAS THE FIRST GIFT GIVEN BY MANIK TO NANDINI)

" Never, abhi sirf tumhein khushiyan dunga... I promise " replied manik cupping her cheeks again...

( he was kinda obsessed with her chubby cheeks)

Nandini looked down with her face still in his palms

" Tum sab bhul gayi hona?  Jo bhi hamare bich tha?  " nandini made a confused face

" of course maine tumhein dhoka diya isiliye, tum mujhse nafrat karti hona? " nandini nodded

" then prove it " nandini looked baffled

" and why would i prove it to you mr malhotra? " asked nandini with a cold face

" because nafrat tum mujhse karti ho isiliye " replied manik looking straight into her eyes

" and how should i prove it? " asked nandini

" simple mujhe wo saari cheezein bataon jisse mai aur guilty ho jau... Mujhse sawaal pucho jisse tumhe sukoon mile."

" kaise sawaal mr malhotra? "

" ki maine aisa kyu kiya aur kyu nahi kiya "

" aur agar tumhare paas jawab nahi huye toh?  "

" toh main koi aur solution nikal lunga tumhein manane ka? "

Listening to his answer nandini made an irritated face

" theek hain get ready mr malhotra... Mai aise sawaal puchungi jiska jawab dena tumhare liye bohot mushkil ho jayega "

Manik's pov

Jawaab toh mai dunga hi nahi nandini , kis muh se du?  Kyuki har taraf se galti sirf meri hain.. Maine tumhe sawaal karne ke liye kaha sirf isliye taaki tumhare andar chal rahe toofan ko tum shant kar sako.. I know there's a lot going on within you ...i know tumne bohot kuch daba ke rakha hain apne andar... Mai chahta hoon ki aaj tum sab kuch keh do mujhse... Sab kuch... Jo bhi tumhare andar hain ghussa,  nafrat, dard, takleef.. Sab bayaan kar do aur kal se nayi shuruaat kar sako... I can't see you having so much pain within you meri jaaan "

Nandini fighting with her own dilemma, made her mind to show manik how strong she is...

" yaha nahi" said nandini

" no problem, hum long drive pe chalte hain " said manik while nandini again rolled her eyes

" but mr malhotra are you like really ready to answer my questions? "

( DONO TASHAN ME HAIN 😂)

" ummm yesss " said manik

He sat beside ifra and took her in his protective arms....

" dadda ki jaan, dadda missed you so much.. It is so difficult to pass hours without you pumpkin" saying this manik pecked ifra's cheeks

Nandini came out of the washroom and saw manik talking to a sleepy ifra

Manik was about to move towards the door with ifra in his arms...

" Manik wait "

While manik thought that nandini didn't like him taking ifra in his eyes but no he was wrong

" Ek minute ifra ko mujhe do, mai usse jacket pehna du  ..phir le lena " manik smiled heartily and handed ifra to nandini

" mera baccha aaj bohot sleepy sleepy hain... " saying this nandini made ifra wear her cute denim jacket and pecking ifra's forehead she handed her to manik

Manik immediately cuddled ifra in his arms

" My sleeping beauty " whispered manik in ifra's ears

Grabbing her mobile , the trio left

Nandini just Messaged chachi that she is going out with manik and ifra

While reading the message  chachi smiled and chacha looked shocked seeing her smiling like a fool

" shanno jiii, aapko ko kya ho gayi?  Aise sharma rahi hain... "

" are wo mere bacche" chachi was about to speak out the truth

" kaunse bacche? "

" wo mai rishu aur nandu ki picture dekhe khush ho rahi hu, aap toh na kuch bhi sochte rehte hain huhhh"

Manik like a gentleman opened the car door for his lady

After sitting inside comfortably, nandini forwarded her hand to take ifra in her arms

Manik handed ifra to nandini , he knew while driving ifra would not be comfortable and her slumber would be broken

Their car zoomed out on the beautiful roads of mumbai city... Nandini had cuddled ifra close to her and had her face out of the window... Feeling the wind, which she used to love the most about long drives

" abhi bhi aadatein badli nahi hain... Meri nandu thi hi aisi choti choti baaton me khushiyan dhundne wali... She used to always put her face out of the window aur mai hamesha bas usse andar khichta rehta tha...

Such a baby she is "

After sometimes nandini realized something... Her eyes widened

" manik yeh hum kaha ja rahe hain?  Ye toh tumhare ghar ka rasta haina?  How the hell did you think ki mai wo ghar me kadam bhi rakhungi?  ...tumne socha kaise?  ....tum ek kaam karo mujhe aur ifra ko phirse MURTHY HOUSE chod do please."

" Nandini nandini, shhhh calm down... Hum mere ghar nahi ja rahe hain... Wahi raste me mera dusra flat hain waha ja rahe hain...ifra bohot gehri neend me hain.. Aur main nahi chahta meri beti ki neend tute.. Wo waha pe comfortably so jayengi "

( SUCH A CARING FATHER 😍)

" pakka we're not going to that house?  "

" ha pakka "

Nandini breathed a sigh of relief

" tumhe pata hain mai khud ye wale flat me pehli baar ja raha hu "

" whattttt? " whisper yelled nandini as ifra was sleeping

" Ha maine socha tha we'll go together someday...and i think today is the day " manik was extremely happy today.... What does he need more? His love and daughter beside was enough for him

" don't keep your hopes high mr malhotra " replied nandini with a smirk

" okay MRS MALHOTRA " manik said it very slowly

" tumne kuch kaha?  " asked nandini

Manik fearing nandini nodded a no

" nahi kuch bhi nahi "

Reaching the flat ,the first thing they did was making ifra sleep peacefully.... They stacked lots of pillows beside her so that she doesn't fall

" let's start dekhte hain tum mere sawaalon ka jawaab de pate ho ya nahi... Are you ready mr malhotra "

" always ready  !" said manik although he was scared

" manik, kya maine tumhe kabhi bhi fab 5 ko chodne ke liye kaha tha?  "

" kabhi nahi"

" kya maine tumhe fab 5 ko chodne ke liye talent hunt ke din kaha tha? "

" no "

" Tumne mujhe kyu choda?  "

" friends ke liye " manik replied with a guilty face

" kya maine uss waqt tumse kaha ki manik tum fab 5 ko chodkar mere paas aa jao? "

" no kyuki tum kabhi selfish nahi thi "

" toh phir manik tumne meri baat kyu nahi suni?  Kyu mujhe dhakka dekar apni zindagi se jane ke liye kaha?  "
Shouted nandini

" my impulsive behavior "

" Manik maine har baar tumhare impulsive behavior ko samjha hain right?  Lekin iss baar jab tum mujhe khud apni zindagi se jane ke liye keh rahe the toh main ruk jati?  Kya mujhe rukna chahiye tha? "

" nahi tumne jo kiya bilkul theek kiya.. Wo waqt bohot hi nazuk tha... Tumhari isme koi galti nahi hain ..infact agar tumhari jagah mai hota toh pata nahi kya karta... Tum to phir bhi mujhe duwayein dekar gayi thi "

" manik tumhein pata tha na tum mere liye kya the?  Mai tumse kitna pyaar karti thi?  You knew right?  Phir bhi "

" i behaved like a jerk "

" manik i never told you to leave your friends and come to me.. I just said you that we can sit and talk right?  Hum discuss kar sakte the na manik?  Tumne toh directly mujhe apni zindagi se hi nikal diya "

" I Know mujhe aise nahi karna chahiye tha.. Aur yaha sirf gunehgaar main hi hu kyuki Maine tumhari baat nahi suni... Agar shayad baat sun leta toh, tum, main, ifra fab 5 sab ek saath hote "

" lekin manik ye baat tumhare dimaag me tab nahi aayi jab main 4 saal pehle tumhein samjha rahi thi aur uski kimat hum dono chuka rahe hain manik " she cried while speaking

" please don't cry for my faults... I can't see you crying "

" But you were the one who gave me the biggest reason to cry manik "

Manik wanted some one to just punch him right on his face

" manik tumse dhoka milne ke baad mai khud trauma mein chali gayi thi.. I was not myself... Mujhe kuch samaj nahi aa raha tha.. Jab main ghar pohochi tab maine bohot socha manik.. And i thought that i needed a break isiliye maine manglore jane ka decision le liye manik "

" lekin mumbai chod ke jaate waqt aise lag raha tha ki tumhara hissa apne saath le ja rahi hu " said nandini crying loudly

" manglore me bhi mujhe sukoon nahi mila har Jagah tum, tumhari memories yaad aati thi... Waha pe bhi mujhe khud pe control nahi tha... Bas mera sar dukhta tha aur main din bhar soti hi rehti thi ....main trauma se bahar nahi aayi thi... I was depressed manik "

Manik was numb listening to how much extent he had hurt nandini

" mumbai me thi tab mujhe nahi pata tha ki mai pregnant hu... Mujhe meri pregnancy ke baarein mein manglore me pata chala... Aur main bohot zyada trauma ke wajah se behosh ho gayi thi tab amms ko pata chala.. Wo bohot ghussa thi manik... Unhone mujhe pehli baar thappad mara tha...

Lekin galti bhi toh meri hi thi, maine limits cross kardi thi haina manik?  Galti meri thi na "

" no no nandini, ye khayaal ko apne dimaag me aane bhi mat dena... Tumhari galti nahi thi aur rahi baat consummation ki toh woh isiliye hua kyuki hum ek dusre se pyaar karte the.. Aur mujhe uss baat ka koi regret nahi hain.. Lekin galti meri thi ye jante hue bhi ke maine tumhe raat ko hi apna bana liya tha mujhe tumhe subah akele nahi chodna chahiye tha... I am sorry"

Said manik cupping nandini's cheeks

" even i don't regret it manik, kyuki uske wajah se mujhe meri jeene ki wajah mili hain... Meri ifra mil hain agar wo nahi hoti na toh aaj "THE NANDINI MURTHY" tumhare saamne khadi nahi hoti..... "

" manik jab mujhe pata chala pregnancy ke baarein me tab main bohot khush ho gayi thi... Mujhe kuch samaj nahi aa raha tha ek baat ke alawa ki jo bhi hain ifra meri aur tumhari beti hain... I was very very happy manik..

Phir amms ne mujhse pucha ke kiska baccha hain... Aur jaise hi maine tumhara naam liya wo aur ghussa ho gayi thi manik... Wo tumhare baare me bura bhala keh rahi thi..

Lekin unki bhi galti nahi hain, tumhari image kabhi unke saamne acchi nahi thi.. Shayad tumhe acchi image banane ka mauka hi nahi mila...

Kya maine tumse pyaar kiya ye meri galti hain?  "

Manik kept mum, he didn't had an answer to nandini's question

" Kaha tha na maine tumhare liye jawab dena bohot mushkil ho jayega... Lekin tumhe sunna tha na toh suno

Amms was about to call you lekin maine unhe tumhe call karne se mana kiya... Kyu pata hain?  Tumne mere saamne alia ko accept kiya... Kaise main tumhe batati ke main tumhari bacche ki maa banne wali hu? 

Because mujhe pata tha, tum biased ho jaoge...tum khud decision nahi le pate ke tumhe kya chahiye... Ifra ya fab 5"

" batao kya tab tum fab 5 ke against jate?  "

" nandini mai, i know fab 5 unke against.. Kaise " he stopped finally having no answer

" nahi haina jawab?  Aur tumhe pata hain?  Tum kyu ab hamein miss kar rahe ho kyuki fab 5 ke asli rang tumhare saamne aa gaye ....right manik?  Kya mai galat keh rahi hu?  ...

Mai ye nahi keh rahi hu ki you don't love me... Mujhe pata hai tum mujhse bohot pyaar karte ho aur ab ifra se bhi.. Lekin manik uss dhoke ka kya? "

Finding no answer nandini grabbed his collar

" jawaab dona manik, chup kyu ho?  Kya tum mere jane ke baad mujhse milne aaye the mere ghar?  "

" ab tum khade ho chup, bina koi jawaab ke

Tab kaha the tum jab mang rahi thi bheek waste apne pyaar ke?

Kismat bhi logo ko acche se parakh chuki hain

Ab pata nahi hamara milna mumkin ya namumkin hain?

Dil tutne ka dard tum kya jano? 

Jab dekho khud kuch apni aakhon se unhi ko sach mano "

" manik mahila mandal ko pata chalne ke baad mera manglore me rehna mushkil tha.. Mujhe mumbai nahi aana tha manik... Kyu aati main?  Tumne toh mujhe dhoka diya tha na?  ...mai kaise aati uss insaan ke paas jisne apne pyaar ke samne apne dosto ke liye kisi aur ladki ka haath thaam liya? Kaise batati usse ki wo mere bacche ka baap hain?  Kaise manik? "

" sayyyy kuch bolo manik, mujhe tumhara jawab sunna... Chup kyu ho tum ? "

" nandini i am sorry , i hate myself for doing this to you "

" manik main nahi chahti thi ki jis darf se, jis takleef se mai guzri usse ifra bhi guzre... Fab 5 ne mujhse jo bhi kaha maine bardaash kiya lekin ifra ke khilaaf main ek word bhi nahi bardash kar sati "

Nandini wiped her tears and ccontinued with strength
" tumhe chahiye tha ki mai tumse sawaal karu... Maine kar liye sawaal jiska tumhare paas koj jawab nahi hain... Ab mujhe pata nahi aage kya hoga... Sirf ek request hain mujhe aur ifra ko MURTHY house drop kardo "

But suddenly some shattering voice was heard... Listening to which nandini's eyes widened!
