Chapter 20

POV: You

Part 1.

It's been a couple days since I had visited April at the hospital. Things have been going smoothly back at the penthouse. Right now, I was in the lounge area, which branched off from the living room and was adjacent the kitchen where there was a small mini bar. Inside the lounge area was a few chairs and a pool table. I was playing a fair game of pool with myself, passing sometime as Akali played on my PC. She was waiting for Evelynn and Ahri to finish getting ready as they had a meeting to go to. Kai'sa was getting ready as well but for a different reason, today was the day she was going on her date with her boyfriend Stephon. She had notified us about it the night before.

"Yo,(Y/n), we're leaving" I hear Akali call out.

I look up from the pool table and see Ahri, Evelynn, and Akali dressed accordingly for their meeting. Evelynn was wearing a sort of designer dress, because why wouldn't she be. Akali was wearing street clothes and a K/DA hat on her head with her hair in her signature ponytail. Ahri on the other hand looked the most professional, wearing a business suit with a matching skirt and a pair of glasses, the glasses kind of threw me off since I've never seen her wear them.

"You wear glasses Ahri?" I asked her and she smirked.

"Nope, I have perfect vision, it's just for extra charm" She says then gives me a playful wink.

"I guess there is no reason to complain. It looks good on her"

"Darling there's something I'd like to speak to you about" Evelynn says as she walks up to the pool table.

"What is it?" I ask her and she gets close to me.

Evelynn leans close to me and says quietly "I want you to follow Kai'sa while she's on her date"

"What? Why do you want me to do that?" I questioned in disbelief of her request.

"I just have a gut feeling. I told Ahri and Akali and they agree that it would be a good idea" Evelynn tells me.

"Alright then, I am you girls' bodyguard so it would be wrong to not look out for her if you request it" I say and Evelynn's lips arch up.

"Thanks darling~" Evelynn says then playfully blows me a kiss "Take care of our little Bokkie for us"

"Will do" I say giving a smile back to her.

Evelynn walks back to Ahri and Akali. The three then walk out the front door. I walked over to the bar and looked at the small variety of alcohol before picking up a bottle of Ionian whisky. I shrugged them poured myself a small glass of it. I take a sip from the glass and let myself unwind before having to proceed with my new found task for the day.

"Looks like Kai'sa's boyfriend must be one piece of work if the other three agreed on me basically stalking Kai'sa today"

I shake my head then took another sip of my whisky. Continued on with my solo game of pool, passing more time bye. About an hour goes by, relaxing, taking small sips of the Ionian whisky. I put on a rerun of a fight that happened the other night on the hanging corner tv in the room. It wasn't my usual thing to watch but I used it to kill the silence.

There's a knock on the door that I could hear of the sounds of two guys beating the crap out of each other. I then hear Kai'sa shout from upstairs "(Y/n)! Can you get the door?, it's Stephon. I'm not ready yet!"

"Alright I'll get it!" I shout back.

I lean my stick against the table and went over to the door. I open the door and I'm met with a man that's about 5'9", he looked like he was a local of Piltover, or maybe Zaun, I couldn't exactly tell. His hair was a dark orange color that was decently long and was combed over to one side, kind of looking punk rock. The guy had some meat on his bones but certainly wouldn't be able to take me on if he tried. He was wearing a some casual clothes that looked respective for a date.

"Umm, hi, uh, is Kai'sa here?" He asks me.

"You're Stephon right?" I ask him and he nods slowly "She's getting ready still, come and wait inside"

I open the door all the way and he walks inside "So, Are you one of the other girls' boyfriend?" He asks me.

I close the door behind him "No, I'm not. I'm their bodyguard"

"You look pretty causal to be their bodyguard" He tells me.

"Yeah, though it isn't necessarily for me to be in uniform" I say as I chuckle a bit "Wanna play some pool as you wait?"

"Sure" He replies.

I lead him over to the lounge area then handed him a pool stick. Since the other girls don't trust this guy, to make my job easier I might as well probe him for some sort of information.

"I'll break" I say to her after resetting the balls. I break and then started up a conversation with him "So, how did you meet Kai'sa?"

"We met at a night club, she was dancing on the dance floor by herself. I recognized from being apart of K/DA and you know, decided to shoot my shot" He tells me then sinks a ball "We chatted a little as we danced, after we got tired we talked a bit. Got her number and the rest is history"

"What was your hook?" I ask him. Standing holding the pool stick.

"My hook? I don't quite understand" Stephon replies to me as he leans up to look at me.

"Like, What did you do to keep the conversation going? What got Kai'sa interested?" I say to him.

"I'm sorry, I didn't come here thinking I was going to be interrogated" Stephon tells me as he started to get defensive with annoyance in his voice.

I take a sip of my whisky and internally sighed "Sorry, I'm not meaning to come off that way. I'm just curious, that's how I am. I like to know the ins and outs of situations at times so I can get a good grasp on it" I tell Stephon apologetically.

Stephon sighs "That's my bad as well man, I shouldn't of got defensive so quickly. You wouldn't be a good bodyguard if you weren't curious in that way" Stephon then looks up at the TV with the fight playing "So you're into watching MMA fights?"

"Yeah, but it isn't something I watch religiously, I like it as a silence killer at times. I used to get into a lot of fights, back in those days I picked up a thing or two from watching these kinds of fights" I replied to him.

We continued playing pool, talking about ourselves, small stories. One thing I couldn't help but notice out of the corner of my eye is how Stephon looked me up and down, Observing me like he was trying analyze me, like how the bullies back in high school did. I understood what he was doing, he was seeing, whether it was a hypothetical or not, if he could take me on in a fight. He most certainly powered, a thin build like him wouldn't eye me up and down that long if he wasn't, that meant he's possibly confident in his power. I started to understand why Ahri, Evelynn, and Akali don't trust him, I can't grasp a reading on him, like he wears a façade but I'm unable to figure out what's under it. Internally it was slowly starting to piss me off that I couldn't figure anything about him besides his words, I've always been able to at least pick something up. Our conversation hadn't gone sour which was good for trying to figure him out.

"So you're telling me, he wanted to fight you, you proceed to fight, then after nearly breaking his nose he calls you his best friend" Stephon says as I had told him about how Rakan and I became friends. However I notably left out the part me being powerless. I wasn't going to slip him that card.

"Yup, that's the jist of it" I tell him.

"Damn, that's an interesting way to get a friend" He tells me.

"Yeah, but he's a good one" I state "How about you, any friends to tell tales  about?"

"No not really, couldn't really keep friends, being from Zaun and all. Half the time their either trying to use you or their just going to stab you in the back. Rare to find real friends over there" Stephon says to me. Being from Zaun wasn't a red flag for me but it was something for sure.

"When did you move to Piltover?" I asked him.

"Few years ago. I couldn't handle crap there anymore so here I am now" He states.

"I understand, sometimes Zaun can be a complete shit show" I say back plans we share a laugh

"Seems like you boys are getting along" We hear Kai'sa says.

We both looked and saw Kai'sa standing near us. She was wearing a purple blouse and skinny jeans which accented her nice dancer legs. Stephon walked up to her and wrapped his arms around her and kissed her.

"Hey babe" He says to her after the kiss.

"Hey..." Kai'sa replies shyly as a small blush formed on her face. They separated from each other and Kai'sa looked my way and asks "(Y/n), are you going anywhere today?"

"Yeah, I'm going to the Atomic and I'm gonna hang with the guys while it's their day off. Was gonna leave once you did" I stated.

"Alright, well we're going to be leaving right now, make sure to lock up" Kai'sa says.

"Will do" I replied.

Kai'sa and Stephon then walk out of the penthouse. I didn't bother reforming the balls on the table, I turned off the TV and finished off my whisky. I place the glass in the sink then went and swiped my keys and helmet. Lucky for me, Kai'sa had told the girls what she had planned out for the day, and while Stephon and I were playing pool, Evelynn slipped me the details. I exit the penthouse and locked the door before getting in the elevator while pressing the garage button.

"Time to see what you're really made of Stephon"

Part 2.

I arrive at my destination, which was across the street from the restaurant that Kai'sa and Stephon would be having lunch at before continuing on with their day. Today was my lucky day as right across from said restaurant, was a particular bakery and coffee shop I'm used to. I park my bike on the side of the building, I look across the street and I don't see Kai'sa or Stephon which lead me to believe that I had beat them here.

"Good, I beat them here, they won't be able to suspect that I'm watching them" I thought to myself as I entered the building.

"Good morning, welcome to Pantheon's Coffee and Cakes" I hear a familiar voice say. I look at who was upfront and I see that it was Seraphine, she then noticed it was me "(Y/n)!, what are you doing here?"

"What am I doing here?" I say nonchalantly playing off her surprise "To get coffee and cakes, what else?"

Seraphine begins to laugh nervously "Of course" She says "What would you like?"

"I would like a large medium roast with a shot of caramel and cream, and can I have piece of that strawberry short cake" I tell her,

"Alright, that will be $8.23" Seraphine says and I pay for it as she makes my coffee and gets me the piece of cake. As she gives me my things she gives me a smile "Enjoy"

"Will do" I replied.

I walked over to a seat that gave me a perfect view of the restaurant across the street without needing to turn my head. I took a sip of the coffee and took a bite of the cake, both were perfect. If you need anything that can be baked, Pantheon is the man to go to. I'm looked up from my cake and I saw Kai'sa and Stephon get out of a taxi. They then went inside and after a short time they came out and sat at one of the outside tables, making it easier to spy on them.

POV: Seraphine

I watched as (Y/n) walked over to a seat with his coffee and piece of cake. I don't know why but I couldn't help but just stare at him. For some reason he has that effect on me, like he's dreamy and can't keep my eyes off of him. I felt someone poke my shoulder and I jump a little before turning to see Ben.

"You're staring a lot at that guy that just walked in" He tells me.

"Was I?" I say while laughing nervously "Didn't realize it"

He hummed to himself, unconvinced. The corners of his mouth then arch upwards at the realization and I felt my blood run cold "That's him isn't he? The one Lux told me about"

"Noooo..." I say while looking away from him.

"Heh" He says with a smug look on his face. I hate when he does that stupid face "Seraphine has a crush, let alone on an older guy"

"I do not have a crush on him" I say, still liking away from him "And he isn't that much older then us..."

"Look into my eyes and say that" He states. I turn to look at Ben and he was just looking at me, waiting for me to speak. But that's the thing, I couldn't, the words wouldn't come out. He then makes that stupid smug face again "See, you do have a crush on him"

I feel my face start to head up "Okay, maybe I have a small crush on him..."

"Go sing for him" He tells me.

"I-I can't do that" I tell him.

"Whys that? You've done it a hundred times before" He replies back.

"Not in front of him" I state.

"Do it or I confront him right now" Ben tells me and that stupid smug smile appears on his face once more.

"Hmph , fine" I say as he always successfully blackmail me in stupid situations like me.

POV: You

I continued on with watching Kai'sa and Stephon with their date. From what I could tell it was going smoothly. I hear the sound of a mic turn on and up on a small stage I see Seraphine standing in front of a mic stand.

"H-hi everyone, if your a regular here you know who I am, if not, My name is Seraphine and I sing here and there and I'm going to sing a song right now for you" Seraphine says into the microphone.

Seraphine starts to sing an acoustic cover of PopStars. Seraphine's voice was amazing to here, it was even better to hear in person. I am most certainly going to tip her bigger then I did the other night. I want to see her reaction since she didn't let me have the pleasure of hearing it before. Once she was done with the song, everyone in the room clapped for her including me, Seraphine's cheeks became rosie. She thanked people as some people put money in a small tip jar at her feet. I walked up to the jar and smiled as I slipped a few high value bills

"You did great Seraphine" I tell her as I smiled before walking back to my seat.

I went back to watching Kai'sa and Stephon, nothing seemed out of the ordinary. I'm waiting for Seraphine to react to my tip. On que, Seraphine marches up to me holding three $100 bills in her hand.

"What's up Seraphine?" I ask as I looked up at her.

"You-" She says with a cute angry look on her face.

"What's wrong?" I question.

"What's wrong? You tipped me $300" She tells me in a cute aggressive voice that wasn't meant to sound cute.

"What's wrong with that? You're voice is amazing, I thought I made it clear the other night" I tell her.

"But tipping me $300 is unnecessary (Y/n)" Seraphine tells me.

"Unnecessary for you but necessary to me" I say.

I chance back to Kai'sa and Stephon and I notice something wrong. Stephon was holding Kai'sa up with her arm around Stephon supporting her. He didn't look like he was trying to flag a taxi down but he did have an anxious look on his face

"Shit"

I get up from my seat in a hurry and rushed past Seraphine, eyeing Stephon as I did "(Y/n) what's wrong?" Seraphine questioned as I dashed past her.

I swing the entrance door open and eyed Stephon "Hey!!, What the hell happened?!?!" I shout his way.

Stephon heard me and he looked my way before seeing me. His face changed from anxiety to full on panic. A muscle car then pulls up in front of the two.

"Son of a bitch"

I rush toward the street, then started weaving between cars as I ran towards them. Stephon had successfully gotten Kai'sa into the back seat before he got into the passenger seat. Before I could reach them the muscle car roars and speeds off. I get to where the car used to be. On the sidewalk was a phone with a shattered screen. I picked it up and immediately recognized it as Kai'sa's phone. Now I was furious, this was not a turn of events I was prepared for but I sure wasn't going to let Kai'sa get hurt because of it. I slip the broken phone in my pocket then rushed back to my bike.

"I'd something happened?" Seraphine questioned worryingly.

"No time to explain" I state with a growl as I slipped my helmet on.

I speed past Seraphine as my anger coursed through me. A fire was lit inside of me, a dangerous one that ruins everything it comes across. I even with Kai'sa's phone in its current condition, I could find here Stephon is. Once I know where he is, he'll face the wrath of the fire he started.

"Stephon, you are going to regret lighting this fire inside of me"
