Chapter 49

POV: You

Part 1.

Sona and I are in the elevator heading up to the penthouse. She's nervous, for obvious reasons, Sona did enjoy the ride on our way on my bike. Ever seen two long twin tails flap in the air like a streak of light? No? Well that's what happens when Sona rides on a motorcycle. She held on with a gleeful smile on her face, which was cute, Unlike April who thinks it's a death trap.

"Do you think they'll forgive me?" Sona asks me as she grabs my hand into hers.

"I'm sure they will" I say with a smile.

"I hope you're right" Sona replies.

The elevator stops and the doors open, Sona hesitantly pulls her hand away from mine and we walk towards the door. I open the door and all of the girls were sitting in the living room. Ahri, Akali, Kai'sa and Seraphine were on the large couch. April was on the love seat and Evelynn sat in the chair.

"Morning Darling" Evelynn says.

"Hey, girls" I say.

Sona peaks his head out from behind me "H-Hey, I-I, um, sorry about, you know... everything" She says as she walks out. Ahri stands up and walks towards us "I understand if you want to hit me"

Sona closes her eyes, clenching them shut, fully expecting Ahri to hit her. The complete opposite happens and Ahri hugs Sona tightly "You should of told us"

Sona, surprised by Ahri hugging her, eyes wide open "Told you what?" She answers confused.

Ahri lets go of Sona "Your old home life, what happened between your parents, what led you to this. We would have tried to understand" Ahri says.

"I, I never told anyone-" Sona says, shocked by what Ahri is saying. Sona stops what she's saying then looks at me, I had a small smile on my face, tears welling up in her eyes "Honey, did you-?"

"Yeah, I talked to them, when you fell asleep last night. Had some help from my sister as well, so yeah, I told them what I could figure out so they could forgive you" I explained to Sona.

The welled up tears begin to become rivers as she begins to cry "You're too good for me honey!" She says and hugs me tightly as she cried.

"Hm" April hums with a smile while standing up "How many times has she cried like this?"

"A couple times already, usually when it's something that makes her really happy" I say.

"I see, making her so happy she becomes a crying mess, that's new" April says as she walks up to me and the crying Sona "I can see it all now. A fragile girl clinging to you like her favorite toy she can't live without. Distracting herself from the reality she once had to deal with"

I patted Sona's head as I tried to comfort her from the crying, even if it is tears of joy "I think it would be a good idea if you stayed with us, we have room" Ahri says.

"Really?" Sona says as she wipes her tears with a small smile.

Ahri similes "Yeah, we need to take care of each other like (Y/n) takes care of us"

"There's leader Ahri at her finest"

"Darling, If being with (Y/n) gives you happiness and comfort, shall it be" Evelynn says, now behind me and Sona.

"Thank you" Sona says. Sona then hugs me tightly.

"Aww, so cute" Seraphine exclaims.

"Am I the only one noticing the fast and recent developments in romance here?" Akali questions, referring to the three confession in a week "No?"

"Coincidence?" Kai'sa relies.

"Or conspiracy, should I get a tin foil hat?" Akali says.

"Don't be like that, you're acting like something bad is gonna happen" Kai'sa says to Akali.

"Have you seen like any movie, ever, bad always follows some new exciting development" Akali says.

Kai'sa sighs "Sounds like your asking for it to happen"

Ahri's phone begins to ring "Oh, it's Sarah" She says then answers the phone. The call was short "We can do that, be right there"

"What was that about?" Akali questions.

"Sarah wants to see us about something, saying it's urgent" Ahri replies.

Aprils smiles "While you're gone, I guess I don't mind starting up dinner, wanna help Sona?"

"I don't mind helping" Sona replies.

Part 2.

The girls of K/DA and I were in the elevator going up to see Sarah. I'm in one of my suits per Evelynn's request since I should be presentable. The five girls were chatting about what Sarah would want to see us for.

"Wonder why Sarah needs to see us?" Kai'sa says.

"Did you do something stupid Akali?" Ahri questions while looking at Akali.

"I know I do some questionable things but don't point the finger at me" Akali replies.

"Maybe it's about the interview with LeBlanc that just aired" Evelynn said while in thought.

"Or maybe about when my debut will be" Seraphine says.

The elevator door opens and we see Braum at the reception desk "You made it, great" Braum says then looks at me "Miss. Fortune would like to see you alone first"

"Me? Interesting" I say.

"Yes, it's something of grave importance" Braum says.

"Of course it is" I say while shaking my head.

I walk towards Sarah's office before opening the door. Sarah was inside, her legs crossed, in her hand was a glass of what looked like rum. She smiles and sets her glass on the her desk.

"(Y/n), how are you doing?" Sarah says with a small smile on her face.

"Fine, now why do you want to talk?" I question.

"I'm going to need you fight for those girls" Sarah tells me as her smile disappeared.

"I already-" I stop what I'm saying then frown as I realized what she meant "No"

"Why? Won't you? You did it for five years for no clear reason yet won't fight for the girls you care about. The same girls that care about you, you know exactly what I mean when I say that" Sarah says as she looked at me.

"I fought then for my family Sarah. Not for no fucking reason. Do you know how much money I saved my parents from having to make for my sisters and I to go to college!" I say as I began to raise my voice "The amount of money I've made and saved is enough for me to live off of for the rest of my life!"

"There's something I need you to understand (Y/n). People are getting bold, they want those girls. They're greedy, they know you protect them, but they're thinking The Beast is rusty, that you are nothing but show now. They'll bet anything for those girls, that's how valuable those girls are to these greedy bastards" Sarah tells me, her serious tone coming out.

"I care about those girls a lot Sarah 'cause I fucking love them! but fucking hell Sarah! I got out of there to live a peaceful life Sarah, do you understand how hard that is! I had to become the incarnate of the name they gave me, The embodiment of The Beast of Piltover! Fear allowed for a peaceful life Sarah!!" I shout at Sarah.

"I'm aware (Y/n), but they won't just stop because they see The Beast of Piltover, when they get bold, they find a fighter they can confidently think can put down The Beast. They think that, they come after the girls, and I already have one wanting to snatch those girls away" Sarah tells me then takes a sip of her drink "I need you to protect those girls (Y/n)"

"You planned this from the beginning didn't you" I say, gritting my teeth.

"Will you be mad if I said yes?" Sarah says with a questioning tone.

"How long have you been watching me Sarah?" I question her "Sona has photos of you at my fights"

Sarah stands up "Tell me (Y/n), do you remember what the original deal was between Sett and the man who terrorized your family before you came into the picture?" Sarah says, looking out her windows down to the street.

"It wasn't my business to know all of that, I don't need the politics, I simply fought" I tell Sarah.

"It was for me (Y/n)" Sarah says as she looks at me "From the shadows of Bilgewater, I crawled out of there with my dignity in tact, most women don't. As I started to build myself up, a man comes along to sweep out all from under me, trying to drag me to the depths once more, only for it to Piltover's shadows instead. Sett came along and saw the hole that opens up below me and offered a hand. That fight (Y/n), got me out of that hole"

"Bull shit, don't toy with me Sarah" I tell her.

"And just why would I do that?" Sarah asks.

"To keep me blinded, I'm not going to believe a sob story just cause you said it" I tell her.

Sarah sighs, slams back the rest of her rum, a sorrowed look on her face "Do you believe in fate (Y/n)? Or in irony?"

"Why?" I question.

Sarah lets out a small laugh "You wouldn't have this job if it wasn't for you"

"No shit" I reply.

"I'm not saying because of your reputation (Y/n). Because of you, I was able to get this company to where it is, that I was able to put K/DA on the map. Three years ago, you fought a fight against Three Blades records for who would get to use the new concert hall first, the loser would be bumped to the back of the long line. Then there's the fight to break Ahri's chains with her old record label, how about the fight the series of fights you did that allowed those girls to spread their music around the world when everyone tried to hold it back, then there's -" Sarah says, naming fight after fight, I cut her off.

"I got the point Sarah" I snap the sigh. I wanted to be mad, to be pissed, but in the end, I fell in love with those girls and I should have known it was inevitable. The possibility that just one fight had something to deal with K/DA isn't off the table let alone their entire career.

"Understand now? K/DA is K/DA because of you, what ever it is that led to these series of events. None of it would have happened without you" Sarah says to me.

Sarah walks up to me, as she came close, I noticed the small stress wrinkles on her face and the dark circles under her eyes she tried to hide with her makeup. It's like this is the last option to protect herself and the girls, to drag The Beast of Piltover back to the pit to fight again.

Sarah places a hand on my cheek "You clawed your way out of the underground fighting scene the same way I did to get out of Bilgewater. Fear is one of the few things that pushes powerful people away" Sarah says then drops her hand while looking down "I didn't want to do this, making you fight was my absolute last thing I wanted to do, I'd be throwing you back into the pit you tried so hard to get out of. I won't force you, but I need this"

I sigh "I'll do it then. Only to protect those girls"

A smile appears on Sarah's face, pushing some of the bangs of her vibrant ginger hair out the way of her pale green eyes "Thank you" Sarah then pushes her lips into mine. Her hands intertwining with mine, trying to keep me from moving away.

It was more than just a kiss, there was feelings behind that kiss. After Sarah has had enough of a fill, she pulls away a bit "You don't need to seduce or charm me into fighting for those girls you know"

"That wasn't for them. That was for me" Sarah says, her smooth sultry voice coming out heavier then normal "Let's say interest turned to desire, then desire turned to love. From a damsel in distress to a heroine in love"

"I was joking earlier..."

"Fantastic, Now my employer wants me" I say.

"Don't say it like that, I'm a mature woman who likes younger men" Sarah says then leans close "A flowered mature woman if that suits your fancy~"

"Is that so?, and how does an instance such as that happen?" I question.

"Don't question it (Y/n), just know fortune smiles upon you for it to happen" Sarah says with a smile then peaks a kiss on my lips "And fortune loves you so very much"

"I'm not telling the girls" I say.

"Leave it to me then" Sarah says with a giggle.

Sarah pulls away from me fully and lets go of me before going over to her desk with a seductive strut before sitting down, crossing her legs pouring herself more rum then picking up her phone and pressing a few numbers "Let them in Braum"

POV: Ahri

(Y/n) walks towards us leaving the girls, I, and Braum in the reception area. The five of us questioning why (Y/n) would want to be seen alone.

"I suggest you girls sit. It might be awhile" Braum states to us.

"Is he in trouble or anything?" Kai'sa says.

"No, he is in no trouble dear Kai'sa, it's a matter regarding you girls and his job as your bodyguard" Braum tells us.

I sigh and we all find our selves sitting in the small waiting area "Gee, leave us in suspense why don't she" Akali mumbles.

"You act like she's going to fire him" I say.

"Will she?" Seraphine questions worry.

"Doubtful that she will Sera, Darling is a prized gem among fighters. She won't just do that" Evelynn assured Seraphine.

"Have you been doing research on him?" I question.

Evelynn smirks "Curious on what darling was up to for the five years he was an underground fighter"

We then hear shouting from Sarah's office, it was (Y/n) shouting, it was clear what he was saying but the agitation in his voice was clear "Everything is fine" Braum says from his desk as he read a book.

"I wouldn't call a shouting (Y/n), fine" I say to him, he doesn't look away from his book.

"It will make sense in a bit" Braum adds.

"Are you sure? Seems to be getting pretty heated in there" Kai'sa says hesitantly.

"I'm sure of it" He says.

The shouting stopped, leaving an eerie silence. Tension built up in the air, as we waited for what could come next. After what felt like an eternity, the phone on Braum's desk rings. He picks up the phone then nods before setting the phone down.

"Miss. Fortune will see you girls now" Braum says.

We get up then walked down the small hall to Sarah's office. I open the door for us, we see Sarah in her chair, (Y/n) was standing next to her desk "Good to see you girls" Sarah says.

"So, there was a lot of shouting in here" I say.

"A bit, things have been sorted out now" Sarah says. Her face had a serious look on it.

"What do you need us for darling?" Evelynn questions.

"You girls are aware of (Y/n)'s past so I don't need to explain it. Something I need you girls to know about is the fate and irony of how (Y/n) is so involved in you girls' career" Sarah says then takes a sip of the drink on her desk..

"Umm, what?" Akali questions.

"Are you trying to joke or....?" I say and (Y/n) speaks up.

"She's speaking the truth Ahri, fate is fickle and ironic" (Y/n) says to me.

"I'll be clear and crystal about this. Men want you girls. Greedy men. You are valuable and money is what you are to them. They don't see girls when they see K/DA, they see a money printing machine" Sarah explains to us "(Y/n) is your bodyguard for a reason, not to scare fans away, but to protect you from these specific type of people"

"Do we not get a say in this Sarah?" Kai'sa questions and Sarah shakes her head.

"These are people who don't give a shit about what you think girls. They won't take a no for an answer, that's why they force any hand they can. (Y/n) is going back to being an underground fighter specifically to protect you girls" Sarah tells us "And for that, you girls will be there to witness it. To understand that every fight he gets into is to protect you"

"You can't be serious Sarah" I exclaim.

"The behind the scenes of how business works ultimately winds up to a blood bath" (Y/n) tells us. He then picks up Sarah's glass and downs the rest of it "Since I have to fight, Sarah finds it just that you all watch, as much that I want to disagree to it"

"I feel like we should get a word in on this, it's our lives and careers" Evelynn says, she wasn't mad or hostile, just concerned.

"It's inevitable Evelynn, people will do anything to get you girls" Sarah says "And here I thought you girls trusted (Y/n) with your lives"

"We do, but-" I say then stop. She's right, we trust (Y/n) in protecting us, then why be in denial? Is it because we don't want to lose our careers as well.

"I already have someone who's out for you girls, (Y/n) has agreed on the matter so I'll arrange for the fight to be in about a week" Sarah tells us then pours more of her drink "I don't like that it's been out to this but I have no choice"

(Y/n) closes his eyes before opening them back up. A fire burned in his eyes, it wasn't rage but determination "I'll let everyone know once more why no one fucks with those I care about and why I am The Beast of Piltover"

How he said it, it was almost scary. We all looked weary at him, excluding Evelynn who most likely had the same type of thoughts in mind. She was always the most protective of us before (Y/n) came into the picture. Sarah then smiles and takes a sip of her drink.

"Also~" Sarah says then grabs (Y/n)'s hand "I'm included in that too~"
