Chapter 2
Chapter 2
“How do you know my name?!” He exclaims harshly. I stare nonchalantly and unamused.
“I know a lot of things.” I say boredly. “Now, may we start the game?”
Before he can throw a weapon, I shoot a thin knife out from my sleeve that pins his hand to the table. He grunts and looks at me with fear. Sighing, I make my way up the table and strut my way to him, kicking cards and cups as I do so.
“I didn’t want to make a mess. I really, really didn’t.” I squat down so we’re at eye level. “But you really are bothersome.” I pull the knife out of his hand and he yells in pain, then kick him to the ground. He bumped a waiter with drinks which spilled onto another villain. Next thing I know, I’m in the middle of an all out brawl.
In this havoc, I still focus on my target. “Don’t think you can escape!” I jump off the table and throw two knives in his knee caps. He manages to limp his way towards some backroom away from everyone’s fight, and I tail after him.
“Xavier Blackwell.” I speak in the quiet room, making him shiver. “Quirk: Metal. You can manipulate metal you have touched. Best known as the CEO of GreenCo, a company that makes weapons. Best known in the villain world: A trader of sorts.” I stop and snarl at his trembling body. “You hacked multiple families bank accounts and sold them. Stole innocent people and sold them. Traded drugs and sold them. And sold illegal weapons to villains.” I was up close to his face and asked him the only question that could save his life.
“Do you regret your actions?” I ask in monotone. Without a second thought, he pleaded, “Yes! I do!” and nodded vigorously. I get off of him and smile a gentle smile at his former trembling form. He takes a breath and wipes the sweat from his brow.
"Well, I wont." I stare at him emotionlessly.
His face switches from confusion to horror when I pull out a knife. “I hate liars.” He scoots against the wall, trying to find a way out and failing. “Don’t worry, I’ll make it a quick death.”
And it was.
I pierced his heart deep and he stopped moving.
I wonder how he murdered people. Tortured maybe? I mean, I’m not much of a torturing person myself, but maybe I should have-
My thoughts were rudely interrupted by sirens from outside.
“Tch.” I picked up the chair next to the other pile of junk and threw it out some random window, following it not long after. I landed in the alley next to the old building and dashed away. Knowing I was at a disadvantage from being at ground level, I ran as fast as I could down the crooks and crannies down the alley ways I passed. But no matter how many turns I made, I still resorted to a dead end.
I should have done more research. God I’m screwed. The one freaking time I decide not to study the location, and the cops are on my back. Real peachy.
“Leaving the party so soon, huh?” A man in black and bandage-like scarf spoke. He was perched on a street light that looked about ready to disperse. We were across from each other so I couldn’t go that way, and I was at a dead end.
“Sorry. That party was lame.” I shrugged and fiddled with my knife.
He was still waiting for me to make a move. Not to long after, he realized I wasn’t going to move and leaped towards me. I dodged easily of course, then filled the eerie alley with an empty laugh.
“The Erasure hero: Eraserhead. You can unarm someone’s quirk by looking at their figure and is only deactivated when you blink.” I smiled and he returned the gesture with a scowl.
“Enough chit chat.” His monotone voice can be a replica of my own. His scarf zipped through the air and went after me, but I jumped up and landed myself on top of it as if I was walking on rope. Except, I was dashing down the line towards him.
“Your scarf hardens at certain points when activating it. It’s pretty sturdy too. Perfect for situations like this.” my bored tone echoed. He moved his scarf so I would trip, but I landed perfectly on my feet once again. “Sorry, but could we wrap this up? I want to go home.” I yawned at the scruffy man and I can literally see the tick mark growing on his head.
“You aren’t going home anytime soon ‘Karma’.” he referred to me as my title and I exaggeratedly gasped.
“Wow! You flatter me~” I smile and roll my eyes. “But you definitely don’t get to decide that.”
“Oh, but I do.” A new voice appeared on the rooftop of one of the buildings and jumped down.
“All Might?” My eyes widened at him.
Why is the number one hero here?! This wasn’t part of the plan! No no no No!
“It’s time to end this Karma.” His voice was stern and I frowned.
“Ha…” I breathed out.
This is unbelievable.
I giggled. I just stood there. And. Giggled. I probably looked insane. I mean, they wouldn’t be half wrong.
My high pitched, childish voice that fit perfectly with my child-like body and aura echoed the area. “You ‘heros’ sound silly.” I was cracking up now. Full out cackling. I swear I’m not insane. Yet.
“That’s about enough, young miss.” He sped past me faster than I should have comprehended, but I did. The wind he created ripped off my cloak and mask. My long black hair fell to my low calves and the gold dashes in my dark purple orbs glowed under the street light.
“I can say the same to you!” I grunted and hopped onto the street light.
Okay, if I can manage to get on a roof, then I might be able to get out of this. Well, if I can distract All Might an-
“Don’t forget about me kiddo.” the tired looking dude called from one side of me threw his scarf. I dodged again landing on a car.
I was between All Might and Eraserhead now. Sandwiched between two horrible situations.
Great. Just what I needed.
At the same time All Might lunged for me, Eraserheads scarf did too. I leaped up and All Might got embraced by a not-so-soft hug from a scarf. They immediately got back into position while I threw knives at their vital points. The pros they are, deflected it easily. But one managed to slice a part of Eraserheads cheek then neck, and another slightly grazed All Might’s wrist. When they were distracted, I made a run for it towards the rooftop.
Yes! Almost there-
I was halted to a stop when a familiar figure met my eyes. Then, I felt suddenly sleepy? I yawned and fought my eyes open at the figure. “Midnight…?” I groggily asked feeling my legs shake and my body become heavy.
“I’m surprised you can even carry yourself right now!” Her eyes widened at me then shifted to the two men below.
“Tsk tsk. You guys took longer than needed! And fighting a cute little girl too? You guys are getting old!” She chuckled and caught me before I fell to the ground.
“I..didn’t..win yet…” I yawned, starting to close my eyes.
“You can win another day.” she replied in a hushed, sugar-coated tone that resembled a mother consoling her child. I frowned when I heard that. Too many memories.
“I just…want to….go…..home..” I took a shaky breath, knowing I lost and am in officially deep shit.
I heard her soft sigh as I felt slender arms carry me down the building. I could hear faint talking until darkness finally overcame me.
