Chapter 3: Good News, Bad News

Akamaru and I have been spending more time together than usual. Why? Because for some strange reason, Kiba and Naruto don't hate each other completely. They're not enemies! They're rivals! I know, not much of a change, but it's progress. The only way they'd let us hang out together is because they literally expect us to be rivals. But apparently we reach their expectations because we tackle each other. The consider it fighting but we like to call it playing.

Honestly, it surprises me how gullible Naruto and Kiba is! They can't see we are playing, not fighting. Well, whatever, bonus!

"Manami!" Akamaru barks.

"Yeah?"

"C'mon! Let's play!" He barks again, stretching.

"Yeah!"

We run into the wooded area, with lots of trees. We're currently outside the village. We're on a mission with Naruto, Sakura, Kiba, Hinata, and Shino!

We're supposed to collect a scroll, fight off the rogue ninja we encounter, and yeah! But right now, we're on a break. It's night time but Akamaru and I aren't tired at all! I let out a yelp when I see a rogue ninja in front of me, he reaches out to pick me up and I bark my loudest, I hear it echo.

"Shut up you stupid mutt!" He whisper-yells, hitting me in the back of my neck.

I slowly lose consciousness as I use my energy to warn Akamaru to run. I try to fight the darkness as it takes over but fail.
