🍭 # 5: curious

HANA ;

"I feel like I'm gonna puke," Juyoung spoke up as we jumped over the fence on the side of the school.

I glared at him and said, "You better not." Then I helped Kyungwoo with his backpack and he jumped over, landing a foot away from me.

I gave him his backpack and the three of us started to walk to the side entrance of the school where not that many students and teachers would see us. Once we got in, I sighed in relief and was about to punch Juyoung's shoulder but Kyungwoo stopped me. He gave me the look 'don't-do-it' and I mentally groaned while rolling my eyes. Then we entered Juyoung's classroom and greeted Byunghoon while Kyungwoo went to our classroom to place our bags on our chairs.

The next thing that I know Juyoung started to fill Byunghoon in about what he did to Jarim and the lollipops that he bought the day before after ditching us at the gaming cafe.

"...I let the lollipops rain down on her head at the bus stop," Juyoung explained while using both of his hands as he mentioned the word 'rain'.

Then out of nowhere, Minji showed up and said, "Yah, you're in trouble!" We all gave her a confused expression and she continued on while looking at Juyoung. "Come with me."

"Wait, where are you taking him?" I asked her, getting all defensive. But she didn't answer me and went on dragging Juyoung to who knows where. I sighed in irritation and decided to wait for Kyungwoo.

"I can tell you don't like her," Byunghoon spoke up, making me face him.

"It's not... It's not like that," I replied back while sitting on Juyoung's chair.

Then Byunghoon plopped his elbows on Juyoung's desk and his head on his hands after clasping them together.

"Spill the tea, Yoonhan," he teased which made me laugh.

I playfully rolled my eyes at him and poked his forehead. Then I joked around, "Stop being a weirdo. I've already got Kyungwoo and Juyoung to handle."

Then Byunghoon's expression changed from a playful to a serious one. "You know you may have missed us, but..." He whispered then stopped in mid-sentence.

I raised my left eyebrow at him in confusion and curiosity. "But?"

It was quiet for a few seconds then the tall boy continued on. "But he missed you the most."

"Who?" I asked with a little tint of blush on my cheeks.

"Secret." Byunghoon chuckled making me glare at him.

"You look like you need some help with that," Byunghoon called out the next day as I walked down the hallway while carrying a box of art supplies.

I looked over at him and smiled. Then I handed the box and he took it from me. "So about yesterday's conversation... Who missed me the most?" I asked with a hopeful tone.

"You're still on to that?" He asked with a chuckle.

I nodded my head. "Of course. Why wouldn't I be?"

"Well, what if I told you and you're disappointed with my answer..." Then he trailed off making me even more annoyed than yesterday.

"Disappointed?" I asked while pointing at myself. "Me? Pfft!"

Then Byunghoon teased out loud, "I bet you're thinking about Kyungwoo right now."

Then I blushed and punched Byunghoon's arm for the sudden attack. The 17-year-old boy laughed at my reaction and quietly apologized. Then he said, "I'll bring these to the art room. You should head on back to your classroom."

I smiled at that and exclaimed, "Okay! Thanks, Kimbyung!"

Then we parted ways and I walked inside my classroom only to be met with a singing Juyoung who was playing his guitar.

"010-6521-8066~~"

I raised my left eyebrow when hearing the familiar digits of his cellphone number. Then I saw Jarim on her chair trying to ignore him.

"Call me at this number~~"

"And this is why I'm skipping my next class," I muttered under my breath as I quickly left the classroom.

"I TOLD YOU TO STOP!"

I jumped at the sudden raised of voice from down the hallway. I stood beside Kyungwoo with Byunghoon and Kyungmin right behind us. We looked down the hallway and saw a broken guitar on the floor and Juyoung covering himself with his arms with Jarim standing in front of him with death glare engulfing him.

But her expression changed when Juyoung whimpered in pain.

"Are you okay?" She asked as worry filed up inside of me for my friend. "Did you get hurt?"

"I'm fine," Juyoung replied back while holding onto his right hand.

"Let me see." Jarim then reached her hand out towards Juyoung to check the wound but when Juyoung showed his right hand, I know right away that he was just playing around.

"This kid, tsk..." I swore under my breath as I shook my head at his antics.

Then Jarim walked away and passed by the four of us.

"Yah, Kyungwoo, Hana. Either one of you give him my number," she told us before walking inside our classroom.

"Okay," Kyungwoo replied back while walking over to his best friend. "Yah. I'll give you her number."

But Juyoung shook his head. "Don't give it to me."

I sighed. "Whether you get it from Kyungwoo, me or Jarim, it's the same thing."

"It's different," Juyoung said while waving his hands at us, telling us to shoo away.

"It's the same."

"It's different."

I glared at the shorter boy while placing my hand on my hips. "She won't give you her number herself," I spoke up. "So what are you going to do?"

Then Kyungwoo joined in, "You should know when to give up."

But Juyoung gave us a face of irritation. "Give up? Give up? Did you say to give up? Giving up is for rookies!"

BUZZ!

"What was that?" Juyoung suddenly asked.

Then Kyungwoo showed his phonescreen at Juyoung and answered, "I sent it to you. It's up to you to save it or not."

I heard Juyoung sigh before Kyungwoo grabbed my left wrist and pulled me back to our classroom.

"Thunder! Feel the thunder! Thunder! Lightning before the thunder!"

I gave Byunghoon and Kyungmin a weird look after listening to the two singing. Then out of nowhere I see something flash outside the windows of the school and then in less than a second, the sound of thunder echoed from above. I had to cling onto the nearest person to avoid from screaming. But what kept my heart beating rapidly fast was seeing who I had clung onto.

"You're still afraid of the thunder?" Kyungwoo asked with a small chuckle.

I pouted at the chuckle and said, "It's not funny..."

The tall boy with dyed red hair smiled at me and poked my nose. Then he whispered, "Sorry, Hana. But don't be a scaredy-cat, okay? As long as I'm here, you're safe."

I looked away from him and felt my cheeks burning red from blushing.

Then I remembered what Byunghoon told me yesterday.

But he missed you the most?

I looked back at Kyungwoo and saw him playing Among Us on his phone while his arm that I'm still holding onto had lowered down a bit to reach my height. I smiled at that small action from my best friend and laid my head on his lowered shoulder.

Then I quietly thought to myself.

"Is it Kyungwoo who missed me the most?"
