( SEE YOU AGAIN )
TWO MONTHS LATER
OFFICE
[ ☼ ]
A psychologist sits in a chair with the glasses she wears perched on her nose. She looks up at one of her patients. "After watching you adapt for the past two months, the board and I have decided that you are finally ready for a normal life." She says.
"Dr Norman, I don't think I'm ready. Your tests prove that I can't remember anything nine years ago." The patient is Elena Gilbert.
"Given that fact, yes." Dr Norman says. "But you're calm, steady, and balanced. All you need to do is adjust."
Elena sighs. "What do you have in mind?" She asks.
"We have put our money together to rent you an apartment." She says. "All you need to do is get a stable job to pay the rent."
"That's it?" Elena asks.
"And do me a favor and make some friends."
SUPERNATURAL
TWO WEEKS LATER
Elena is walking around her apartment alone and in the dark. She looks around, confused. "Hello?" She calls out.
She makes it to the living room, checks it, then begins to walk away. When she turns around, the flatscreen tv on the wall turns on. Elena turns back around and steps closer to the tv.
Static filled the screen as Elena reached down and grabbed the remote and turned it off. Letting out a breath of relief, Elena smirks a little before ramming into someone's chest.
Immediately afterwards, the person in the shadows leans down and bites her neck, sucking her dry. Elena screams in pain.
Suddenly, Elena jolts awake in her bed, clutching at her neck. She runs her fingers through her hair and let out a sigh of relief when she realized it was just a dream.
She'd been having these weird dreams ever since she was emitted into the psychiatric hospital. Dreams about monsters and people crazy enough to be in an asylum.
The sun was shining outside and Elena knew that she had to get to work, fast. Checking the clock, Elena cursed under her breath. She was going to be late for work the third time this week.
Elena runs to her closet to throw something on, but it wasn't like she had enough options. It mostly consisted of colors between black and white. She still even had the uniform she wore at the hospital.
Even more so, Elena had the wristband she wore still clung to her wrist. She liked to remind herself where she had been. Sighing, Elena grabs her coat and purse and heads out the door.
DINER
[ ☼ ]
Elena rushes into the dim diner, the bell ringing as she pushed through the double doors. Paul, the manager, sighs and turns to Elena, clearly annoyed. "You're late...again." He says.
"I'm so sorry Paul." Elena says as she shreds her coat to reveal her uniform. "My alarm didn't go off and I had the worst nightmare...I'm sorry, it won't happen again."
"I don't think there will be a next time, Elena." Paul says.
Elena looks up at the man. "Are you...firing me?" She asks.
"Look, it's nothing personal." He says. "You've been late this whole week and that background check finally came in. You're not healthy, Elena. You're mentally unstable."
Angry, Elena grabs her things. "Sounds personal to me." She says as she leaves the diner.
APARTMENT
[ ☼ ]
Elena sits at her kitchen table looking at the screen of a laptop. She was looking for jobs available around her online and she couldn't even fine one. Frustrated, Elena goes outside to go for a drive.
Later, on the road, Elena is driving nowhere particular when she had the sudden urge to pull over. Hitting the brakes, she pulls into the parking lot of a bar.
BAR
[ ☼ ]
Elena walks in and the smell of booze and sweat immediately flooded through her nose. She found a seat next to a window and sat down. Seconds later, a pretty blonde waitress came up to her with a notepad and pen.
"Good afternoon, what would you like today?" She asks.
Elena smiles briefly. "Just a water." She says as the waitress turns around and moves to the bar. Just as she turned, Elena called back to her. "And I was wondering, do you guys happen to be hiring?"
"Actually, yes." She says. "I'll get you an application now."
Dean was in the bathroom of the bar, splashing his face with water. He looks at his reflection with a cold stare. Suddenly, his phone begins to buzz in his back pocket. He pulls it out, something also falling to the ground in the process.
Reaching down, Dean picks it up. It was of he and Elena, the night she went to the Charity Ball with Dick Roman and they had taken a picture. Turning it over, Dean noticed the words "I love you" on it.
Not even thinking, Dean goes over to the toilet and is about to flush it when he looks at her face again. He wondered what she was doing at this moment. As he stuffed the picture back in his pocket, Dean also checked the text message he got.

Emergency! Meet me @ the bar
Dean sighs and storms out the bathroom. He and Crowley had been having the time of their lives together. Going from town to town, sleeping with dozens of women. It was the total dream. But it didn't match up to one person in particular.
He spots Crowley sitting on one of the stools at the bar. Dean sits down next to him and laces his fingers together. "Alright, what's the emergency? Angels? Demons gone rogue?" Dean asks.
"Out of curiosity, and this is just a random question, but, when was the last time you saw Elena?" Crowley asks as Dean turns to him with a death glare.
"Why do you ask?"
Crowley looks across the bar. "Have a looksie." He says as he sips his whisky. Dean follows his gaze across the bar and to a seat in the window.
Then he saw her.
Elena was sitting at the bar all alone. She seemed to be writing something, rubbing her wristband every once and a while. And at that moment, she looked up to meet his eyes. Elena had no idea who this man was, but she already felt a strong connection between them. Feeling uncomfortable, she looks away.
Dean begins walking towards her, until Crowley grabs his arm. "I wouldn't do that if I were you." He says and Dean turns to face him.
"Why not?"
"I heard through the grapevine that your precious Elena got her slate wiped." Crowley says. "Kind of dramatic if you asked me. Poor girl has been bouncing from psychiatric hospitals to the next."
"So...she doesn't remember me?" Dean asks. Deep within, Dean was sort of furious. He never would've thought Elena would wipe all of their greatest moments together.
"Are you sad yet?" Crowley asks. "I thought a Knight of Hell didn't show emotions."
"This is perfect actually." Dean says. "I can use it to my advantage. Just watch." Dean casually walks over to where Elena was sitting until another body blocked his way. It was the blonde waitress.
"Are we still on tonight?" She asks as Dean looks past her.
"Yeah...sure, whatever." Dean says and pushes past her. She looks at him in confusion before walking away. Dean slides in the booth across from Elena. She looks up and smiles awkwardly.
"Um, hi." Elena says. "Can I help you?" She asks.
"I'm surprised to see you sitting all alone. A beautiful girl like you would at least have every guy in here in full swing." Dean says.
"You're not the first guy to come over here and talk to me..." Elena says. "But you're definitely different from the rest. I'm Elena."
Dean smirks a little. "I'm Dean. Would you like a drink?" He asks.
"No thanks, but I'm sure I'll see you around." Elena says as she grabs her things and stands to leave.
"Is that so?" Dean asks.
"I'm a new waitress." Elena says and leaves the bar. After she leaves, Dean walks back to Crowley with a big grin.
"What's that face for?" Crowley asks.
Dean leans against the counter. "I have a favor to ask." He says.
"Go on."
