When I first invited Julie to that dinner party, I had my reasons. Sure I wanted to impress everyone (including her, to some extent) so I could move out of my frat boy image (I wasn't even in a frat, I don't know how that even happened) but I wasn't entirely sure it would work. I mean, it wasn't like Julie wasn't amazing and impressive, she was. But I worried she would be too impressive and too accomplished. Just because she didn't have a job that didn't mean she wasn't accomplished. She had only graduated her program a few months before so no one could say she was a deadbeat. Not everyone has a masters degree.

I was just worried she'd grow bored with the party and the people and snap at someone or make the wrong witty comment to the wrong person or reveal how smart she really was. I didn't want her to play dumb but these were very temperamental people and didn't like feeling like a non-doctor was smarter than them. And these people were not geniuses. They were smart enough but not exactly clever. The only reason my fellow students put up with me so well was because they thought I was an idiot. They could put up with idiots because they thought I wouldn't take away their chances at the prestigious hospitals (or so they thought).

As usual, Julie proved me wrong. Frankly, I was shocked at her transformation. She was witty and clever and as charming as usual but there was a new sense of grace. She was the same Julie (sarcasm and all, I think it's embedded in her DNA) but you'd have thought she'd grown up going to things. She belonged in a way I never would but I didn't care. I belonged because I was her trophy husband (for the night). Do authors have trophy husbands?

"I'm so nervous."

"Don't worry they'll love you."

"Are you sure?"

"Yes. Believe me, I'm more nervous than you."

"Why? Don't you know them?"

"Yeah. I've just got a lot of stuff on my mind."

"Like what?"

"Nothing."

"Eli, it's me, what's wrong?"

"Nothing. Don't even worry about it. Just focus on looking great. It should be easy."

"You're so full of shit."

"Not as much as you think I am."

"What does that mean?"

"Nothing."

"You're annoying."

"And you're beautiful."

"Oh fuck off."

"Feisty, I like it."

"You're getting more immature as time goes on, you know that?"

"I've heard that once or twice."

So, as some of you know, I have news. It's great and amazing news and I've been wanting to tell you guys for days. Here it is: JTH IS GOING TO BE FEATURED STARTING ON JANUARY 4TH.

We're still figuring some things out but at the moment January 4th is the date it will be put on the list and the story will have one big change before then: it will be moved to the Teen Fiction category. Wattpad believes the story will do better there since there will be so many chapters and I have no reason to disagree. Either way I'm still so excited!
