"There you go, two fresh sunny side up eggs."

I smile, taking the plate from Tyler and sitting down at the table.

"Good morning, beautiful." Graham slides onto the bench beside me and kisses me on the cheek.

He cuts a bite off one of my eggs and eats it.

Ahren and Cat sit across from us, eating their own breakfasts. Tyler takes a seat at one end of the table. A man by the name of Joseph sits across from Tyler. Joseph's fiance comes down the stairs with Ahri behind her.

They join us at the table.

We enjoy our breakfasts and hold casual conversation with each other. Graham wraps an arm around my waist.

After everyone is finished with their food, Ahren and Tyler go out to walk the cabin's perimeter while Graham and I wash dishes.

"How did you sleep?" Graham asks as I hand him a plate to dry.

"Like a baby." I tell him.

He smiles. "That's good."

"You?"

"Better than ever."

Last night was the third night I had slept in Graham's bed. His body was always so warm, it felt comforting against the cold sheets that I'd previously been sleeping with in my bed.

We'd just finished the dishes when Ahren and Tyler hurried into the cabin.

"What's going on?" Graham asked the two who were clearly out of breath from running.

"There's a horde of dead ones on the East fence." Tyler hurries to say.

"How many?" I ask.

"Too many to count." Ahren tells us.

I gulp.

The others soon gather with us in the foyer.

"What's happening?" Joseph is quick to ask as he holds his fiance, Melanie, close.

"There's a horde." Graham says.

"What are we going to do?" Melanie asks.

Tyler moves past us and opens a closet. He pulls out a shotgun and hands it to Joseph, then he grabs one for himself.

"We take out as many as we can. We don't leave this land without fighting for it." Tyler tells us.

I nod, grabbing my bat from it's spot by the door.

"Joseph and I take the front end. Sasha, Graham, I want you two to go from behind. Cat, and Mel, man the getaway. If things go south you grab the RV and pick us all up."

"How do we know when things are over...?" Cat asks.

Tyler sighs. "I'll open the gate if it comes to that. You guys take Ahri with. Ahren, I need you to get the stray. Pay attention to the gate, if you see or hear it opening, we round up at the end of the drive. Everybody know the plan?"

We all nod as we look around to each other.

"Be careful out there." Graham says. "Watch each other's backs."

"Let's go, we're losing time." Tyler tells us.

With that we all break and head towards our spots.

Graham and I hop the fence and head towards the east side.

"Take it slow, focus on doing it right. We can't have any mishaps." Graham tells me.

I nod.

The horde comes into sight and we prepare ourselves for a fight.

I take my first swing, smashing the bat into the back of a dead one's skull. The corpse falls to the ground. I watch Graham out the corner of my eye. He drives his knife into a dead one's skull.

The noise from the dead gets louder as I move towards my next target. I bring the bat down on its skull, knocking it to the ground.

A few of the dead start to notice us.

I swing left and right at them but there's so many. Each one I take down, there's two more waiting.

"Graham, there's so many!"

"Just keep swinging!"

I listen, swinging my bat at all the dead but they've started to turn on us.

I feel myself being pushed back from the fence as the dead move towards me.

I can see through the fence, Tyler and Joseph are firing off at the dead ones nonstop.

I slam my bat into another skull.

A dead one creeps behind Tyler. "Tyler!"

It's too late, he's being bitten into as I scream. My bat swings into another dead one's skull. And another. And another. And even more.

Ahren comes behind Tyler, he stabs the dead one but it's too late.

I see Tyler hand something to Ahren.

I try to focus back on the dead ones. My bat swinging in so many directions as I try to kill as many as I can.

"Sasha!"

A pair of arms grab me and then we're running.

I follow Graham as he runs beside the drive.

I see the gate, it's open.

Tyler gave Ahren the remote. Ahren had opened the gate.

The RV is in front of us now, the end of the drive.

Melanie is waiting outside, clearly watching for Joseph.

I see Joseph running towards the RV too. He's coming out of the woods.

Melanie sees him too. She hurries towards her husband.

Graham and I make it to the RV.

Then I see Melanie fall to the ground, a dead one crawling had grabbed her ankle.

Joseph cries out. "Mel!!!!"

Graham tells me to stay put as he hurries towards the two.

I watch as he falls beside her, sliding his knife into the dead one's skull. Joseph is there too. He weeps beside her. The dead one had bitten her.

"Get inside." Ahren is with me now.

I listen and climb into the RV with Cat and Ahri.

Only a minute later, Joseph, Graham, and Ahren, are all in too.

Ahren drives. He wastes no time leaving behind the cabin. I watch out the window as the dead ones follow us slowly.

Ahren drives too fast for them to stay caught up as we leave.

With that, we're on the road again. The dead had claimed two more.
